Warning to any tourists keen on booking an apartment with this agency: A few month ago, while looking at apartment options in Lisbonne for a weekend at the beginning of May, we originally did find this one on the AirBnB platform. The place seemed really nice and we got in touch with them. They mentioned to us that if we booked directly through them we would benefit from a discount - we thought it was a nice gesture and like anyone else would have done (we trusted them ) - we ended up booking directly with them rather than AirBnB. Unfortunately, Covid-19 hit Europe in March and most of the countries are now in lock down. Meaning - flying from Spain and France - that we can’t travel ( either by plane or car due to closed boarders and airports ) to Lisbonne and obviously are following rules and common sense by staying home. Turns out that Central Hills couldn’t care less and won’t reimburse a penny ( even though we are going though the Covid-19 situation). Portuguese association DECO that defends consumers rights in Portugal confirmed that we are entitled to a 60% refund but the agency doesn’t want to follow the regulations ( and being crooks is of course not even willing to change dates). Worse, they are now publishing again in AirBnB that the place is available at those dates. Non only they are getting extra visibility from the AirBnB platform to attract tourists, they are dishonest and worse, taking advantage of this whole situation. We understand that the hospitality industry is trying to maintain some fees to keep their salaries, however not giving back one cent of money isn’t fair, not accepting to change dates is not right. We lost our money to them when we could have re-invested it with trustworthy people of the industry, which we won’t be able to anymore because of them. Shame on them. Now you know, don’t book through them, if anything bad happens, they won’t be consilient and won’t give a dam, and who knows what else could happen with people like that... In the meantime, keep safe !

plainte Début février 2020, nous avons contacté Central Hill, via Airbnb, dans le but de louer un appartement pour 10 personnes dans le centre de Lisbonne. Central Hill nous a alors proposé de réserver en direct plutôt que via la plateforme airbnb, moyennant une remise. L’agence Central Hill nous semblait alors sérieuse, nous avons donc accepté et payé la totalité du montant de notre séjour de mai, soit 1188€. Malheureusement, début Mars, la pandémie de Covid19 est arrivée en Europe de l’ouest sans épargner le Portugal. Cette crise sanitaire impacte toute l’Europe impliquant des confinements stricts et des fermetures de frontières... Le 4 avril, après avoir abandonné tout espoir de visiter cette magnifique ville qu’est Lisbonne, nous avons contacté le gérant de Central Hill. Nous souhaitions alors connaître sa politique d’annulation face à ce cas de force majeur. Mais à notre grande surprise, il nous a répondu que sa politique était stricte : il ne comptait ni nous rembourser ni nous permettre de repousser nos dates. Et cela, malgré le fait qu’au Portugal, l’association des consommateurs DECO, nous ait confirmé que Central Hill devait nous rembourser à minima 60% du montant déjà payé (1188€ payé, soit 712,8€) ou bien nous proposer un changement de date, à laquelle nous serons autorisés à voyager bien entendu. (Airbnb par exemple rembourse 100% du montant pour toute réservation allant jusqu’au 31 Mai) Nous sommes revenus à la charge afin de lui rappeler ce que nous avait indiqué l’association des consommateurs. Rien à faire, il a affirmé qu’il n’avait aucune intention de nous rembourser, ou de changer les dates et qu’il « s’en foutait royalement de cette situation ». Face à une attitude aussi irresponsable et scandaleuse, nous allons bien entendu dénoncer cet entrepreneur auprès de la DECO. Ce message que chacun d’entre nous a publié en Français, Espagnol ou encore Anglais est un avertissement pour vous, consommateurs. Ne passez pas par cette agence. Nous déplorons, en particulier dans le contexte que nous vivons actuellement, que quelqu’un puisse agir avec un tel manque de solidarité et cherche à tirer profit de la situation en arnaquant des clients. Pire encore : notre hôte a remis l’appartement sur Airbnb, et a indiqué qu’il était libre aux dates auxquelles nous devions venir. A croire que son objectif est d’arnaquer le plus de personnes possibles ; c’est une honte. Je m’adresse désormais à Central Hill, et en particulier car je travaille dans le secteur de l’hôtellerie/restauration : vous êtes une honte pour cette branche de notre métier. Vous n’avez aucun respect de votre clientèle et je vous plains. Nous espérons sincèrement que ce message permettra de dénoncer ces pratiques malhonnêtes et surtout d’éviter d’autres arnaques.

When in Portugal, be weary of booking properties managed by Central Hill Apartments, either direct or through Airbnb. I booked a 10 day stay in what was one of the highest rated luxury apartments on Airbnb. I paid $4,0000.00 for our stay, which is a tidy sum in Lisbon, considering 5 star hotels were going for $75.00 - $170.00 during the same period. On Airbnb, The apartment was was fictitiously marketed as the property of an Interior designer, which was a gimmick. The pictures portrayed an elegantly decorated apartment with fantastic views. Upon arrival we realized, the apartment is in an old decrepit building with no elevator. After lugging suitcases up two stairs, we entered an ancient apartment. The proverbial lipstick was applied to the pig, but it was not what we paid for. I can go on about the rowdy young German tourists downstairs, or the guests with six kids upstairs pouncing on the old squeaky floors until midnight. Did I mention the apartment comes with no amenities. No shampoo or soap, no hand or face towels. you are supplied with a single bath towel per guest, much like summer camp. All this for the bargain basement price of $4,000.00 Needless to say Airbnb was less than helpful. Pictures below tell the whole story, the first sets are from the Airbnb listing, you will have no difficulty recognizing mine. Save yourself a lot of headache and don’t allow these con artist rip you off. Avoid Airbnb or Central Hill Apartments and book yourself a nice hotel.

Positive: The location was excellent. It was reasonable accommodation for the price. Negative: the apartment was very basic and could have done with a bit of an upgrade. It was advertised as being for 10 people. We were a party of 8 and it felt very cramped. There was not enough room to all sit comfortably in the lounge or eat together. There was also not enough wine glasses

Positive: The accommodation was in an amazing location for us as we wanted to be in the Center of the hustle and bustle of barrio alto! It was also very well equipped in terms of kitchen ware as we cooked dinner a couple of nights. Also we were warmly welcomed with lots of advice and helpful contact details should any problems arise - very excellent service at this accommodation - we would definitely stay again with the hosts however maybe not in the ground floor flat. . Negative: The only downside to this property is that is felt quite damp after 8 people had showers and we went straight out for the day (not wanting to leave windows open in a ground floor flat where all windows opened onto public roads). Possibly when the weather is a bit warmer fans are provided but as it was just turning warm we didn’t need the heaters on to try and dry things.

Positive: The apartment is big and comfortable, enough space for family, the kichen is well equipped. Location in the best.. Negative: We were on the ground floor, so it was little cold and we couldn’t use all heaters because the apartment can’t handle it. There is no heating in the bathroom so we couldn’t bath the kids. There is also no ventilation or window in the bathroom. Walls in the bathroom should be repainted.

Положительный: Clean modern apartments in the heart of Lisbon, in rooms large windows from ceiling to floor, cozy balconies, comfortable beds. There is everything for the first time: tea, coffee, sugar, hair dryer, washing powder and iron for laundry, as well as 2 towels per person. A bottle of port for a gift!. Негативный: Waiting for keys on the street with a sports group of 19 children about half an hour, despite the fact that they warned in advance about the time of their arrival! except for us, the keys were waiting for 2 more groups of tourists ..

Positiva: Está muy bien situado en el centro de la ciudad, una calle tranquila,es muy amplio.. Negativa: Sin calefacciónn,sólo estufas. Las fotos de booking no son para nada las de la realidad. Está en un bajo, una de las habitaciones da pie de calle imposible abrirlas. Mucho ruido de la calle. Lo mejor el chico que nos dio las llaves muy agradable.

Positiva: Lo mejor la localización se puede ir andando a todas partes y está en una calle tranquila dentro de barrio alto. Nuestro apartamento era muy amplio, tenía una terraza muy agradable, las camas cómodas, la cocina muy bien equipada, en general un apartamento muy acogedor y perfecto para grupos de amigos.. Negativa: Frío, hay varios radiadores eléctricos pero poca potencia contratada, si se encienden los radiadores salta la luz, no se puede tener la tostadora con un radiador y un secador encendido, era un problema para la convivencia de 7 personas, el apartamento es amplio pero este tema era algo incómodo. El agua caliente también tardaba mucho en salir.

Positiv: Sehr tolle Unterkunft. Wir waren 10 Personen und hatten reichlich Platz. Wohnzimmer / Esszimmerbereicht als Aufenthaltsraum genutzt. Ausserdem 3 Bäder (1 davon nur Toilette) sehr Vorteilhaft. Liegt sehr zentral und man kann zu Fuss alles erreichen. Gastgeber Joao war pünktlich bei unserer Ankunft an der Unterkunft anzutreffen. Er war sehr hilfsbereit. Man konnte ihm auch zwischendurch schreiben und bekam wertvolle Infos. Taxen sind bequem zu Fuss in 2 Min. an der Camoes Square zu erreichen. Unterkunft als Gruppe wirklich zu empfehlen.

Positive: NIENTE!. Negazione: Prenoto spessissimo con booking per la serietà dell'organizzazione e dovendo muovermi con altre persone al seguito, mi sento tutelata. In questo caso non capisco come si possa proporre una struttura del genere! Io capisco tutto e certo non ci sono problemi per i piccoli inconvenienti, ma, riferendomi all'appartamento al piano terra in cui abbiamo soggiornato: uno dei due "bagni" era talmente piccolo e sporco che sembrava di entrare in un bagno chimico! senza carta igienica a disposizione e non è che il secondo fosse tanto migliore! letti che sembravano cadere a pezzi in ogni momento portone del palazzo pesantissimo e mal funzionante (un amico ci ha lasciato un dito partita l'unghia!) odore di umidità e sporco per tutto l'appartamento che spero abbia conosciuto tempi migliori e per finire il padrone di casa o chi per lui, atteso per 40 minuti all'ingresso nonostante il congruo avviso(ma questo sarebbe il meno!) Le foto dovrebbero essere un FEDELE reportage di come si presenta l'appartamento! mai più!
