Very friendly and helpful welcome. Tony and Penny were happy to do anything to help. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed, and the Quinta is in an ideal spot for exploring.

I had made the reservation for a different date by mistake. Quinta honored my reservation despite the fact that the owners had shut it down for a few days. There was no one in the property and the told me how to get in. Incredible trust from their part.

Loved the beautiful manor- beds and pillows sooo comfortable. Great area to use as vase to your the many sites that are around that area. The hosts we so friendly and helpful- they made it a spectacular trip.

Our stay at Quinta do Scoto was absolutely perfect. I only wish I had booked more time there. The property was so charming- from our beautifully renovated (former barn) suite- to the fields with 2 gorgeous and friendly horses, we couldn’t ask for more. Our suite was so spacious and beautifully decorated. Our hosts- Penny and Tony - made us feel very welcome. The home was convenient to historic Sintra, yet in a non- tourist area- away from the crowds. We can’t wait to return!

One of the GREAT B & Bs.....beautiful grounds and huge rooms.....lovingly restored from the original house and barns with antiques and great modern amenities! Fabulous bedding and wonderful breakfasts! The owners, Penny and Tony are delightful, charming and very, very helpful. It is well situated and close to all the must-sees of Sintra. Our highest recommendation!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!! Warm greeting (including a glass of wine while I filled out paperwork), tour of the property and my room... FANTASTIC room!! Tons of space, HUGE bathroom with a fabulous soaking tub. Very convenient to all tourist places, but with a quiet you cant get in any bigger town or city! I will definitely return here on my next trip to Portugal!

Un superbe endroit! Les chambres sont magnifiques et très confortables, la piscine et le domaine sont superbes avec plein de petites surprises pour les enfants: poules, gentils chiens, chevaux. Nous avons bien profité des petits-déjeuners et de la cuisine pour éviter les restaurants le soir. Penny et Tony sont adorables et donnent beaucoup de conseils pratiques sur les visites, les environs, etc. C'était vraiment un séjour très agréable !

The place is rather old and needs renovation in my opinion. The owners were very friendly and were generous with us leaving all what we needed in the fridge. Breakfast was good but no hot food options. Very quite location and relaxing. This hotel is closer to Sintra than to Lisbon. You need a car to get there. Not far from the train station where there is free parking and you can take the train from there to either Lisbon or Sintra.

We had a very nice stay at Quinta Do Scoto. We enjoyed the peaceful rooms and surrounding. Walking distance to several nice cafes. The hosts are very genial, knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Beautiful site but way overpriced. Rooms were very damp and smelled like it. We found a 4 stars suite in Figuera da Foz a few days later for less money. At least the owner was willing to give us a discount.

So a bit of a weird one. The reviews of this place are amazing, but this place exists in somewhat of a vacuum. The building itself is amazing. Well kept and in good condition, but practically things are missing. We were travelling as normal sized family, and there is nothing in walking distance, no shops, no bar, no restaurant. At the moment there is nothing to do at the place itself. Unless you are driving and if you drive, you probably aren't drinking. They don't make hot food, so after a few days, breakfast, as good as it is, gets a bit dull. In summary, practical for Sintra, and there are some nice places to drive to in near distance, but this place is best as a stop over for a few days.

We had a wonderful time at this property. The new owner made us feel very welcome. The added touches in the room were very appreciated, lovely fruit a complimentary bottle of fabulous wine and beer and drinks in the fridge. The cold buffet breakfast was delicious. On our last day we left our bags and went to the beach. They graciously kept our bags and when we returned they let us use the small communal kitchen for our picnic and the communal shower to rinse off all of the sand. It really let us extend our time in the region. Two nearby restaurants were also delicious and within walking distance.

Sometimes, you discover the most amazing places just a bit out of the way. Many people make a day trip from Lisbon to Sintra to see the palaces and Moorish castle. We made a booking at this restored early 20th century villa based on photos and reviews. It did not disappoint. The grounds are lovely and expansive and our two girls enjoyed walking in the flower-filled field, saying hello to the friendly neighborhood chicken, and petting the two horses. The rooms are wonderfully restored preserving a rustic charm. The entire experience was a joy. We were able to drive to the Pena Palace and Moorish Castle in about 20 minutes. Leonor, the manager, was incredibly gracious and helpful. The only aspect that would make it even better would be hot breakfasts (at present, they do not have a license for preparing hot meals).

The owners were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a lovely place to relax within easy reach of Lisbon and Sintra by car.

We loved everything about our stay at Quinta do Scoto & Penny & Tony are terrific hosts. A great location if you enjoy a bit of village life away from the clamour of the city. Train service is nearby and 4 stops from beautiful Sintra was a bonus!

Har bodd her en uke. Et veldig trivelig bed & breakfast tilbud. Stedet oser av historie og det drives av en veldig hyggelig familie: Tony, Penny og Charlotte. Familien som driver stedet er veldig hjelpsom for å komme med tips om ting man kan gjøre, finne fram rutetider for busser, tog mm. God frokost. Det ligger en togstasjon - Mira Sinatra - kun ti minutter fra Quintaen, men der går det kun et tog i timen til Lisboa. Det går langt flere tog fra Rio de Mouro både til Sinatra og Lisboa. Det er drøyt 20 minutter å gå til denne stasjonen. Det er også gode bussmuligheter fra Rio de Mouro, f. eks til Cascais (50 min på buss) eller Estorill. Hester, høner og hunder på tunet bidrar til en trivelig stemming på tunet. Den store, store fordelen til dette overnattingstilbudet er den veldig hyggelige og gode servicen til Tony, Penny og Charlotte.

I've stayed here twice and love the place. Tony and Penny are superb hosts - welcoming, friendly and so helpful. You need a car really as most of the local amenities are a distance away but can get by without. Location is excellent for exploring Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais and the coast. There are plenty of excellent restaurants which you will be directed to both near and far, and breakfast to start the day is a relaxed, hearty affair to ensure you start the day right. In terms of accommodation, the suites are comfortable, spacious and clean. I travelled with a disabled family member and Sr. Miguel suite was perfectly equipped for their needs ♿️✅ The ample grounds surrounding the Quinta offer a relaxing environment and sitting by the pool in the sunshine is just magic. Can't speak highly enough of this place and its wonderful owners.

We just loved our stay at Quinto do Scoto. Penny and Tony were wonderful hosts! The location was very convenient to visit the numerous castles and and palaces of Sintra. We could walk to local restaurants in the evening. The breakfast was delicious, and we loved relaxing at the pool.

The owner Tony, was extremely friendly and helpful. He was great to explain the culture of Portugal. Our room was huge, extremely clean and had very unique, well preserved antique furniture. Tony showed us through their beautiful home where we were treated to a great breakfast buffet. Fabulous stay.

We stayed in Quinta do Scoto during our trip through Portugal. I wished we have stayed there a bit longer - it is conveniently located close to many sightseeing destinations in the center of Portugal. You can take radial trips from Quinta de Scoto easily. Note: it is not located in the heart of old town but more like industrial/suburban outskirt of Sintra. This requires some driving to the center of typically very busy town but eases the parking situation next to homebase. The house is very nice and authentic - 16th century farm house meticulously respired by the British family. The owners are living on the property and personally taking care of everything.

Quinta do Scoto is a 400 year old farmhouse lovingly restored by two British engineers, Penny and Tony. I cant recommend it more highly. They have done a remarkable job turning the old barn into charming suites (ours slept 6 with two double beds and a separate room with two twin beds), which they upgraded us. You are greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine, an honor bar, wonderful breakfast food, and several chickens! There is a new pool with nice chairs, and a short walk to the small town for local food and drink. It is about 10-15 minutes to Sintra by car, and at the most 20 minutes from the Lisbon airport. Penny couldnt have been more welcoming, and I could sense they give extra attention (such as arranging cabs or taking folks to the local train station) to all the guests. Top notch

Alles super, sehr nette Besitzer, die sich viel Zeit nehmen, um Tipps für die Umgebung zu geben. Die Anlage und die Zimmer sind außergewöhnlich und ein Aufenthalt macht richtig Spaß.Der Salzwasserpool war sehr kalt, da ungeheizt.Frühstück lecker & das Ambiente sehr angenehm.

Nuestra estancia ha sido muy agradable. Encontramos el hotel buscando un punto estratégico de operaciones para visitar alrededores sin demasiado coste y nos ha sorprendido muy gratamente. Un hotel rural cuidado con mucho mimo conservando su historia y su mobiliario todo recuperado en muy buenas condiciones con una decoración muy acorde. Un espacio en cada habitación sorprendente son como tu pequeña casa de campo. Tiene animales en muy buenas condiciones que hacen el conjunto final al entorno tan maravilloso. Un entorno tranquilo y acogedor.NO le puedes pedir mas a un hotel rural. Mi enhorabuena a los hosteleros por su esfuerzo y mimo.

Das Landhaus ist sehr schön und geschmackvoll ausgestattet. Das Ehepaar ist sehr hilfsbereit und sie kennen am Besten wo man sehr gut essen gehen kann. Das Schlafzimmer war sehr groß mit einem schönen und großen Badezimmer. We will return.
