We are missing this place. We was there with my family. The singer ,food, service , was very good. Singer make use emotional. specially one man staff wow he was very good and Friendly (Maru). We will be come again ❤️

Value to money ratio is the worst I had in a long long time, that's also the reason I'm writing this review and investing my time in giving internet points to a restaurant. Staff at the moment we were inside the restaurant (06.07.2019 at around 7pm) wasn't behaving like you should behave towards any customers. To be honest, I felt like ordering at McDonalds, I get more empathy and will to bring a good mood to the "restaurant" there. Water in plastic bottles, tapas (which to be fair are small portions) were good, but the problem is as I mentioned the value for price ratio. If you get some shrimps for 11€ or some pieces of meat for the same price of 11€, sorry, that is tapas size but crazy and simply outrageous prices. The meal itself was totally fine, so no offence to the cooking staff, which did a great job. Problem for me was the young waiter and obviously the management who makes prizes which are simply not adequate.
Unfortunately I can't review any of the music that seems to be played there regularly, this seems nice and maybe they try to justify the horrendous prices with letting people play music there, which is stupid.
All in all it is a hectic situation in there, seems like they want to process as many tourists as possible in the shortest possible time, so they can order a "mixed salad" for 5€ which consists of a little bit of lettuce, 1 tomatoe and vinegar.
1/10 would certainly not recommend. The 1 point is only for the kitchen crew because the main dishes (shrimps and beef) were tasting good.

Si vous choisissez ce restaurant, ne faites pas la même erreur que nous, prenez place à l'intérieur pour profiter du fado très appréciable.
Par contre ne vous attendez pas à des tapas de grande qualité, nous n'avons rien aimé (frites surgelé, viandes caoutchouteuse, pain sec, fromage coupé la veille, ...). Seul le service et la musique remonte la note à deux étoiles.

Très bonne chanteuse de Fado mais les plats sont très moyens. Et les musiciens font des pauses après seulement 4 chansons...un peu long.

The Fado was amazing! There were 4 singers and each brought its own special something. The food wasn't good and quite expensive, there is a minimum 15 euro per person, but we loved the Fado so much that we would come back

Je partage l'avis qu'il ne faut pas venir. Très cher et vraiment très peu dans l'assiette. En bref ne vous laissez pas avoir.

The waitress was very sweet. The atmosphere was nice, but the food wasn't that good. Dry bread, very plain salad and the fish and meat wasn't cooked in the right way. Luckily the wine and the olives were perfect!

Petit restaurant très sympathique, les chanteurs sont très talentueux et il est très agréable de manger à l'extérieur tant la place est jolie.
Un prix tout à fait convenable, il suffirait d'un peu plus garnir les assiettes et ça serait parfait !

Accueil parfait et ambiance chaleureuse.
Tres bon, super ambiance avec musiciens de fado, et accueil tres chaleureux. La serveuse de Madeire a été aux petits soins pour nous.
Nous recommandons.

Very nice place with good outdoor and indoor seating. Food is slightly more expensive than other nearby places and portions are smaller but the quality is fantastic. Pickled beef (photo attached) is really worth a try. You also get fantastic live music and friendly service for your money so overall, I would highly recommend!

Un lieu qui vous plongera dans une ambiance typique, une musique envoûtante, un cadre magnifique, un repas d'un très bon rapport qualité prix et enfin un accueil très convivial. A faire absolument !!

What a pleasant find. We found the restaurant by chance. Waiter (Jan) made us feel very welcome. He recommended the pickled beef, it was the best dish I ate in Portugal. Very nice menu, well priced and absolutely worth a visit. Great place, well done guys.

Stumbled upon this gem while looking for a different fado restaurant and so glad we came here. The fado was moving and included both a male and female vocalist. Un buen sitio para cenar acompañado del Fado típico de la zona en un rincón precioso de Alfama. La relación calidad precio es muy correcta. El bacalhau a brás para chuparse los dedos. Los postres de primera. Pero lo mejor sin duda la atención del camarero, merece la pena volver.

Bella serata di fado, ma pessimo il cibo e scortese il cameriere.
Abbiamo preso pollo alla bras e baccalà alla bras, sembravano piattini di vomito di cane in cui dovevi cercare nella cipolla e la patata qualche filo di pollo o di baccalà.
il piatto misto di chorizo stracotto quasi da far fatica a masticarlo.
Una stella in più la prende grazie alla musica.
Attenzione, scrivono che il fado inizia alle 19.30 in realtà si alternano momenti di musica (3 pezzi) a circa 30 minuti di pausa fino alle 21 circa quando iniziano sessioni più lunghe.

A terrific alternative to the many more pricey experiences
We were looking for another place and heard an amazing woman's voice singing Fado. so we stayed and were glad we did. It's a small simple place, far cheaper than most, but really good. The young woman we heard, who played three later brief sets was amazing, genuinely haunting. The two who followed her weren't quite as good, but still worth hearing. There was no cover, just a 15 Euro minimum, and we had an octopus salad and bacalao a bras, which is bacalao mixed with potatoes and onoins. Both very tasty as was the green wine, that accompanied it. So well worth it for a more casual and less costly experience.

Le spectacle de fado est de qualité mais très haché, paiement uniquement en cash, nourriture très moyenne et chère pour la qualité, une consommation de 15e minimum est exigée, et la porte reste ouverte tant que le restaurant n'est pas plein. Non recommandé

I enjoyed the fado show and the setting, but didn't like the food at all. Had the cod salad and it was inedible.

Nosotros estuvimos alojados en Alfama y un día cenamos allí. En cuanto a precio, más o menos cómo los restaurantes de la zona. El servicio fue muy bueno y la comida estaba rica, igual el pica Pau era un poco escaso. Tuvimos la suerte de disfrutar de una noche de fado. Acabamos con un postre y un licor que nos recomendaron y estaban de diez. Yo sí lo recomendaría.

the tables are to close, we had the.'luck' to sit near an italian women who was speaking so loud you couldn't hear the fado music.. food expensive and bad i was sick all the evening.

Leckere Tapas, allerdings Verhältnismäßig recht teuer. Dafür besticht das Restaurant mit einer einzigartigen Atmosphäre mitten in den Gassen. Für Fans des Fado wird abends meist live-Musik geboten. Meiner Meinung nach ein netter Ort für Tapas zwischendurch, aber für Mittag- oder Abendessen ist das Preisleitungsverhältnis doch eher schlecht.

Infelizmente fui muito mal recebida! Liguei a reservar mesa para grupo , confirmei uma semana antes e quando cheguei ao local tive que vir embora pois não tinham registado a reserva , não pediram desculpas e só a meu pedido iam tentar arranjar solução mas só para 10 pessoas quando eramos 12!!!
Fiquei muito desiludida com o atendimento , pouco prestaveis e antipaticos.
Não recomendo!

Solo se salvó el fado, te sirven un engrudo de arroz gomoso con tiras de bacalao al que llaman bacalao al horno. El camarero un impresentable que trata mal a los clientes e incluso a los músicos. Una vergüenza para Lisboa.

Okay... man wird ganz schön unter Druck gesetzt. Jede Person muss ein Hauptgericht bestellen, es gibt keine halben Portionen, auch für Kinder nicht, was in Portugal sonst durchaus üblich ist. Aber es war schmackhaft - das muss man zugeben. Und wunderschöner Fado live!

Service extrêmement désagréable, prix élevés. Attention : la bière en 50cl est à 6 euros alors que la même en 40 cl est à 3,5 euros ! De même, le prix d'un même plat ou d'une même boisson peut différer selon les cartes ! A éviter.

Simple and authentic Portuguese place with live 'Fado' music and a simple local menu. Service was friendly, food was tasty (try the cod salad) but not amazing. Still, it's quite affordable and it's worth coming for the unique atmosphere.

Bof! Nourriture grasse et surtt très cher pour ce que c'est ! 43€ À deux pour 4 tapas et 2 boissons soft ! ATTENTION pas de FADO le lundi soir ! Partez plus à la recherche de fado dans les petites rue plutôt que ce genre de lieu bien noté pour rien!

This was from my point of view quite bad: service - a man - not very friendly and not really interested to support you; the cheese plate was like the cheapest cheese from a super market, neutral in test, feeling old and cuttet from the hard end of a bigger cheese part. The Sangria wine probably also bought at discount market. The bread like from day before!Only the fish meal was okay... People, there are around this restaurant sure lot of much better places to spend a good food evening...

Yemek mi müzik mi biri geceyi çok güzel yaptı. Fiyatlar makul, lezzet yerinde, fado doyumsuz. Yanlız gideceklere genel bi uyarı: fasonun adabını araştırın, özetle restorana öyle lönk diye girilmiyor, müzik bitene kadar dışarda bekler, faso çalınırken öyle hapur hupur yenmez, zaten ışıkları da kapatırlar tabağını göremezsin. Ama merak etmeyin aç kalmazsınız sık ara veriliyor.

Fado was great and the musicians were very talented. The ambience was also very cosy and intimate. What was annoying is that you have to buy a plate of food each - even though on the menu it says spend €10 each which we could have made up from snacks or drinks but somehow we had to get one main each even though I didn't want a main. They could also make more money from drinks than food so seems a bit silly and not well thought out- they could just say minimum spend of €10 per person? Another couple was also very confused abt this.
Food is okay/ not bad. Had the prego which wasn't great and the prawns were quite good..

This is very quaint and comfortable. Food is good, simple and not expensive. I would not recommend the steak sandwich("steak in the bread"as written on the menu) very dry. However the service is totally friendly and the Fado is perfect. Wine is drinkable. Great atmosphere.

We found this place by chance, in Alfama zone, very local fado restaurant. Service is great, and waiters are very kind. Food is delicious, menu is simple, we took cheese plate, salad and chicken with potatoes-all was delicious, and portions are big. With house wine, we paid 40 eu for two. Stayed abt three hours in total and there were four different fado singers who sang in turn, all very sympathetic. Recommend this place for sure!

Showed up right at 1930 and there were many tables available. The Fado players were inside and we were seated outside, but there are large doorways open that let us see and hear the beautiful music. I've never heard Fado, so I thought it was pretty great, almost soulful. The food was good too, tapas style, with an excellent sausage and cheese plate as well as chicken na bras, or Portuguese chicken casserole with potatoes onions and cream. Delicious. Their ginja was real smooth too, get a glass. The price wasn't bad at all! The restaurant is on a corner in a neighborhood and felt very authentic, with the neighbors hanging around to chat and listen to the Fado and dogs running about.

Este es uno de tantos lugares donde tener de primera mano la auténtica experiencia de la tradición lisboeta, en el corazón de Alfama. Un Bacalhau à Bras sublime, acompañado de una copa del blanco de la casa, hizo inolvidable mi primer otoño en la ciudad. Entrañable. Un sitio de verdad para dejar el tiempo pasar.

We were supposed to go to another restaurant when we saw this place. Probably the best and most immersive experience you can have of the Portuguese culture. Menu is very simple but incredibly tasty and fresh. Not only the service is friendly, but they also sing Fado all evening it was amazing!

Un petit restaurant qui ne paye pas de mine mais où l'on mange copieusement pour pas grand chose. Et quand tout d'un coup la lumière baisse et que le fado commence, on se sent transposé dans un autre univers ! À tester au moins une fois dans sa vie :)

This restaurant serves only a few simple dishes, but they taste incredibly good. The atmosphere is great, the ingredients are high quality, service is friendly, it's just fantastic eating.
