Local maravilhoso no coração da Serra de Sintra

VERY difficult to find. One way streets everywhere and google maps and car GPS could not find it. Thank goodness for a toir guide we came across nt chance. House was Old and worn. Electrical plugs hanging out of the wall or lamps with patched up exposed wires.Small rooms, not very clean. Smelled musty.Nice for the experience of a country house. But would not want to stay for long.

The staff, while truly lovely people, couldnt speak a word of English - they didnt even know what Breakfast meant. I dont speak any other language and therefore do feel bad for criticising Portuguese people for not speaking English in Portugal - I realise thats a bit hypocritical - but I think if youre running a BnB you should at least know some basics like breakfast, bed, shower etc. The hotel itself was extremely unique and quite beautiful, as was the surrounding area. However if you have lots of equipment (like I did) - it just isnt practical; lots of tight corridors and stairs. The room was actually damp - there was a distinct damp smell in it and the beds were noticeably damp feeling. I even left a piece of paper out one night and the next morning it was oddly soft.I wouldnt say that I would never visit again - but not on a business trip, and I would definitely request a different room.

Pasamos unos días inolvidables en familia en esta Quinta. Me encantó la capilla escondida tras uno de los muros de la biblioteca. La Señora de la casa, muy culta y mayor, tocaba el piano desde sus habitaciones privadas. Al enterarse de que mi hija Sara estaba terminando Piano en el conservatorio superior de Málaga, le propuso que tocara para ella. La Señora era encantadora. Nos contó su historia relacionada con sus amistades con personajes españoles del mundo artístico. Un puntazo.

Local histórico e gosto de estar

The place is amazing. After our stay a film crew was coming to make a movie. It like stepping back in time. The hostess was wonderful. We has a traditional Portuguese dinner one night with other guests in the dining room. The only drawback was the location. My daughter and I got off the train in Sintra and did not rent a car. When the taxi driver found out were we were going she did not want to take us and I could see why. As the crow flies we were 5 miles from Sintra but the road to the hotel is like a goat path the last 500 metres. If I would have known I would have rented a car. Otherwise a wonderful stay. The wifi was iffy and only available in the library. Breakfast was great and a super pool was on the premises

One of a kind property in a fantastic location - excellent staff with a warm hospitality and kindness not seen in many places anymore!

Hotel muy rustico, lejos de todo ideal para desconectar, no hay tv ni wi-fi aun que diga que si.Buen desayuno casero 100%, zumo natural y comida recien echa.Lo unico que tiene cerca es el palacio de montserrat.Lo unico negativo es que no dan cenas cuando estas bastante aislado

We hosted our wedding here (~65 people from all around the world) and had an amazing time. Many of our guests also stayed at the Quinta. Through our whole stay and the wedding, the staff was very helpful, accommodating, and made sure everything was perfect. It is such a special location in the hills with huge beautiful gardens and a lot of space.

What a magical place, in the middle of the Sintra hills. This place really makes you feel like you are somewhere special. Super nice staff and lovely environment and facilities. Looking forward to returning someday.

Casa mágica, estilo de palacio encantado, es perfecta para descansar y sentirse como en un cuento de hadas. Cuadros enigmáticos, ambiente de casa encantada, en medio de la naturaleza, pocas habitaciones, rincones para recordar... de los mejores sitios y más bellos en los que he estado, Ambiente muy familiar, la dueña de la casa vive allí y tocó su piano para nosotros y nos contó historias de la familia y el lugar. Los disfrutamos enormemente. Queda un pco retirado y solo se puede llegar en coche. Muy asequible

Be careful of this scam place! We placed a deposit during our stay at the Quinta and after two months the administration, head by Mrs. Idalina, refuse to return our money back! Very poor service, rude staff and horrible location.

This facility is not a Hotel as advertised on Expedia. The brick and dirt path leading to the hotel in only suitable for goats. In some places it is barely wide enough for a small car to pass. The rooms smell of mildew and there is no central heating. The photo on Expedia is misleading since it was taken from the back of the property. The front entry is an old wood double door with high walls off the goat path that passes for an entry road to the property. The beds have to be over 30 years old and you will feel every spring when sleeping. The facility is up in the high hills over Sintra in an area infested with mosquitoes. The owner has a note in every room telling to you use insecticides and then sleep in the room after spraying. No one speaks English except the owner who never showed during our stay. The staff of two were very kind and did their best under these deplorable conditions. GPS is not correct for Sintra since the town changed their street directions years ago and GPS has never been updated. Trying to find this facility without GPS is a nightmare. We found an Uber driver at a filling station who was kind enough to guide us to the access road off of the high hill road leading to the property. We had to leave after two days there due to the horrible conditions of our room. Presently, still fighting them over the charges. This listing should not be on Expedia. The advertising is inaccurate and misleading.

He vuelto a esta Quinta después de doce años. El recuerdo que tenía de aquella estancia me hizo querer volver a visitarla..pero he quedado francamente defraudada. El camino, una bajada infernal lleno de piedras ,no lo han podido arreglar en estos años. La casa está intacta solo que los grifos no funcionan, el tostador tampoco, nunca he visto unas toallas tan rasposas, no hay ni un solo Tv en la casa, ni wifi en las habitaciones , ni secador..en fin que no se han gastado ni un solo euro en mantenerla y adaptarla a los tiempos actuales... En su favor el jardín y la piscina siguen siendo maravillosos..no tanto la persona que te recibe que solamente se muestra correcta.

Quiet Spiritual place with fantastisch View over Sierra, Green, beautiful House with beautifuli view, difficult Access. Family old Tradition, Out of time.

A parte final é em uma estradinha de terra, sem iluminação, com mão única. - Não é possível chegar por meio do google maps. - Ninguém pôde ajudar a contento, quando telefonamos pedindo orientação. - A reserva não estava registrada, apesar de estarmos com o voucher impresso. A pessoa que nos atendeu, que não é funcionária do hotel, não podia resolver nada e limitou-se a nos colocar no telefone com a gerente do local. - Depois de certa hora, não fica nenhum funcionário do hotel no local. - Quando ainda estávamos para sair do quarto, meu marido já descendo com as malas para o carro e eu aguardando com o bebê no quarto, as camareiras foram adentrando aquele espaço sem pedir licença, já trocando roupa de cama, quase nos expulsando do lugar. - Não tivemos ajuda com a bagagem. - É um hotel caro pelo que oferece.

Schwer zu finden, aber mit gutem Navigator kein Problem. Der letzte Kilometer zum Hotel entspricht einem typischen Waldweg. Aber die Qualität des Ziels entschädigt den etwas mühseligen Anfahrtsweg. Meines Erachtens nur mit Auto erreichbar.

We got married at this 16th century monetary and were back for the first time since then. It is such a magical place, with winding hallways covered with artifacts, cozy fireplaces, and beautiful grounds. It is just outside the city which is a beautiful walk in and a 5-minute cab ride back. It is family run, so you will want to arrive early for check-in, then head out for your adventures. Teresa(s) were wonderful hosts for our Christmas stay. Would recommend this Quinta for anyone looking to experience the magic of Sintra.

When we walked in we were taken back by the antiquity. We were catered to as though we owned it ourselves. Its a 17th century estate. Unlike anywhere weve ever stayed. Our only regret was that we couldnt stay longer. 100% recommend it.

We spent three days immersed in the authentic old world feeling of this 16th century castle. It was one of our most memorable Expedia reservations. It is truly ancient character, so, if you are looking for modern luxury this is not for you. It is accessible by a little rocky and steep road on the Sintra Hill, but its old world charm is worth the visit. The authentic period furnishings give it extra charm. We became friends sitting around the large table for the wonderful breakfast. You can also request a wonderful evening meal. We cant wait to go back to Sintra--just to stay there!

I cannot begin to describe how truly beautiful and awe inspiring this place is. I attended a wedding here, and it was magical. The house is very old and charming, and the grounds are immense and wonderful. There is a swimming pool overlooking a beautiful valley, and the sunsets are incredible. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is pricey, but it is a place you can never forget.

The room was lovely, the location is great minutes to both the beach and old town (which we thought was the best area).Breakfast was simple but a good choice continental.Parking is advertised, but you have to hope for a place on the road and one day we couldnt get a space and had to park quite away from the hotel (glad it wasnt on arrival of departure when we would have had suitcases with us). WIFI was rubbish also seemed to be dropping out contantly, and yes i know, do we need to have WIFI available when on holiday, not normally but we did as we were travelling around and needed to check things.Would we stay again, yes the location was perfect. The hotel even had umbrellas for the beach you could use.The sun loungers/shades nearest were over priced at 15 euros a day (two beds and a umbrella), walk further up the beach away from the hotel and the cost drops to 6 euros.

Terrible experience. The person that I call, doesnt know to give me the correct address, because the address in the site, ITS NOT CORRECT. One of the worse experience that I ever had.

I enjoyed my stay here and got to see how the rich lived hundreds of years ago. It was like staying at a castle. A small hotel transformed from a original picturesque private estate home. The receptionist was very nice and even gave us a tour of some private quarters.

Different, typical country house with a very nice surroundings. A little bit difficult to get access to the house but once there the facilities are very good and confortable.

We were so surprised to step through the green door and experience the old-world charm of another time. We never would have imagined that such a gorgeous home and garden existed behind the stone wall thats visible from the road. The view overlooks the amazing Monserrat Palace on the next hilltop adjoining the property. The garden is extensive and the home is huge but the main endearing thing about this place is the warmth of the owner and her staff. We were mesmerized by their hospitality and were greeted with warm kindness. It was truly a memorable experience for our entire family. The people were just lovely!
