It is often not easy to find a good, English speaking, church when overseas but this one is a gem. Despite a congregation changing every week as people come and go from the area, there is still a strong sense of community, of being with gospel family. The church meets in a unique style of building in beautiful garden surroundings, with the latter almost finished being transformed into a walk through ‘Bible garden’. In addition to serving English speakers in the area, they also have a service in Portuguese each Sunday and many of the Portuguese are very active within the church and its many activities and events. If you primarily speak German, there is translation available for the English service on Sunday mornings. if requested in advance. They do have a website but, to be honest, it isn’t very good at the moment! I think there are plans to change that, I hope so anyway! Ultimately, this is a Bible believing church, with solid teaching each week, unique surroundings, a great welcome and that seeks to glorify God in everything they do. Oh, and they also provide transport to and from the church from hotels and apartments if we don’t have our own transport! If I am able to return to the Algarve, this church will be one of the first places I will go! Highly recommended!!

So thrilled to have found this lovely friendly welcoming church just 10 minutes from Vilamoura! To see many nationalities all together worshipping God, is a real blessing! If you only have a chance to visit once, or go every couple of months it is will worth a visit.

The International Evangelical Church is set in a beautiful botanical garden, in which all kinds of plants, herbs, shrubs and trees mentioned in the Bible can be found. The 10:30 morning Service is in English, with translation into Portuguese, and on request, into German. The 15:30 afternoon Service is in Portuguese, with translation into English, and is held in our Café "Amêndoas" (Almonds), opposite the Church. For those who want to dig deep into the Word of God, there is a 10:30 Thursday morning Bible Study, that commences with Worship and Praise unto The Lord. After the Bible Study, we close with intercession prayer and thanksgiving unto our Saviour, Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ. More information can be obtained from our website. Wir waren während unseres Portugal Urlaubs 2017 hier zum Gottesdienst, nachdem wir uns im Vorfeld online informiert hatten, wo wir eine evangelische Gemeinde finden können. In wunderschöner Garten Umgebung gelegene Kirche in einem einladenden Gebäude. Die Predigt war biblisch fundiert und reformiert geprägt. Sehr freundlicher Pastor, der uns und die anderen Besucher vor dem Gottesdienst mit einem kurzen Gespräch begrüßt hatte. Schön wäre noch, wenn die Gemeindemitglieder nach dem Gottesdienst beim Kaffee ihren Blick für Gäste schärfen könnten und auch auf ihnen fremde Menschen zugehen.

We made contact via the church website and were collected from our holiday apartment. The church meet in a fascinating building. The worship is contemporary, but a little dated. The morning service is in English and afternoon one in Portuguese. We were made very welcome and enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful church, it's a little bit hide but have all the information in the streets to show us the way.
