Excellent food and service. The owner is very welcoming and explains how the food is made. Portions are ample, and the price is very reasonable (47€ for entrees, 2 main plates, wine and 2 desserts).

Honestly one of the best dinner experiences in my life. The owner makes you feel like youre family. The food is simple, authentic and delicious. Just make sure you finish your plate or else he may feed you himself.

It was our first restaurant experience in Portugal and such a memorable one!
We arrived and the host welcomed us with the promise of real authentic non-fancy portguese food. From the starter cheese over the amazingly well done sea bass and octopus, to the wines and great warm hospitality, we still remember it as the greatest out of about a dozen restaurants we ate at.

C'est le restaurant que j'ai préféré à Lisbonne! La cuisine est excellente! Vous êtes accueillis comme si vous étiez reçus chez un membre de votre famille: à bras ouverts! Le patron est vraiment adorable et plein d'humour. Je le recommanderai à chaque personne qui viendra visiter Lisbonne. Le prix est très abordable et le poulpe est à tomber par terre! J'ai adoré!

Very cool experience! Run by a single family, and the owner was outstanding. Super fun to talk to and took great care of us! Not to mention gave us some amazing food and wine recommendations. Some of the best Portuguese food we had during our stay! Make time for Don Luis!

An excellent meal in a cool atmosphere. The restaurant has a family vibe (which makes sense as it's run by a single family) and you feel like you're eating authentic food in a relaxed setting. Everything we had was fantastic and the owner did a great job taking care of us. Would absolutely come back again!

Hands down the best restaurant experience I've ever had.
We came by without a reservation on a Friday night, but he didn't have it in his heart to turn us away, so we were told to wait outside for a bit - and I am so glad we did. The moment we stepped in, I knew this was a special place. The food being fantastic is just the beginning. The owner is what makes the place magical. Unpretentious, warm, joking, he really is one of a kind. You can tell all he wants is to be a good host for his guests.
If you are looking for a fancy and quiet dinner, this is NOT the place for you. If you want to experience Portuguese hospitality and warmth at its best, stop by and let him make you happy. I for one will come back whenever I can.

Amazing octupus (under specials, cost 14,50 euro)! Owner is super charismatic and all over his customers, which can be good or bad, depending on what you prefer. All in all, a great experience.

Sitio pequeño y muy agradable.
Entramos sin reserva, y el camarero nos dijo después de consultar con el dueño, que podíamos cenar si terminamos antes de la hora que tenían la reserva.
Nos colocaron al lado de la cocina, donde veíamos como trabajaba la cocinera, sólo ella en la cocina podía con todas las demandas, una gran profesional, ya que estábamos unos 19 clientes cenando.
La comida estupenda, muy muy recomendable.

Wow!! We visited Adega Dom Luis on a Friday night, with no reservation. Despite this, the owner welcomed us with a fantastic smile and made literally our night!
At arrival, we were kindly offered a glass of white wine! This was really nice of them and we greatly appreciated!
We proceeded with ordering food - we had the grilled prawns, which were fantastic! So big and tasty, a dream! We also had the mussels, which were served in a buttery tomato sauce with chunky pieces of onion. Dipping the bread inside all the sauce was sooooo amazing . We finally ordered the octopus dish which arrived in a lovely extra virgin olive oil sauce and tasty potatoes. Food was incredible & portions huge - we didn't manage to finish everything but definitely left with our belly full & a wonderful smile on our face!
A special thanks to the owner, who treated us with such kindness, made us feel special and took the time to talk to us and explain all the recipes with such passion!
Please, visit this restaurant if you are in Lisbon. It will be a fantastic experience!

This is truly one of the greatest restaurants I have ever had dinner at, and it provided the perfect experience to end our trip to Portugal when we visited last March.
I could go on and on about the simple, homestyle Portuguese cooking as I ate some of the finest cod I have ever tasted. Instead I want to emphasize how rare it is to find such a gifted restaurateur. Luis is a fun, warm, and jovial host. I felt like I was treated to eating in someone's home, not their place of business. He made my wife and I feel like we were his most important guests on a night when he was already packed with customers. It is clear he loves to cook and be with people, and I will never forget how that made me feel. God bless him and his colleagues. Do yourself a favor and make time to eat here.

Family run restaurant, wife in the kitchen, husband serving and their son behind the bar. They're welcoming, caring and make you feel like you're heading to you nonna's place for dinner or lunch. It's not a pretentious place, expect home cooking, reaaonable prices and a friendly atmosphere.

Hervorragendes lokales Essen. Ich habe noch nie so guten Tintenfisch gegessen. Sehr netter Inhaber, der zu Jedem Menü genau sagen kann was an diesem besonders ist und deshalb einzigartig. Morgen geht es direkt nochmal dorthin!

Esperienza ottima stasera! Mangiato polipo con relativi contorni (octopus)+dolce e liquore (ginjinha) offerto dalla casa.
Tutto buonissimo.
Speso 40€ in due (vino, acqua e caffè compreso nel prezzo). Servizio rapido e efficiente. Il proprietario è una persona squisita.
Posto con pochi coperti, meglio prenotare.

Pessimo. ..mai mangiato con la paura di stare male. Il polpo puzzava.
Il padrone del locale appena arrivati i piatti a tavola, probabilmente con la coscienza sporca, ha subito affermato la freschezza improbabile del pesce.

charmant restaurant typique portugais et familial. cadre intimiste et pittoresque. la nourriture est fraîche et cuisinée avec amour. le poisson est du jour. un vrai régal et coup de cœur. le patron est très accueillant et vous parle avec passion de sa cuisine et de son pays. je recommande sans hésitation

De très bon poissons en entrée et plats (accras de morues, poulpes, Sole) cependant les plats sont servis avec un peu trop d'huile (c'était peut-être lié à la recette...)

Telefonei numa sexta-feira em cima da hora de jantar e foram muito prestaveis a tentar acomodar-nos. A simpatia é um forte ponto da Adega mas também a comida que estava impecável. O preço é mais que acessível ainda para mais considerando a zona da cidade onde está inserido.
