We went there because my English friends recommended this restaurant after they enjoyed a great afternoon with the Portuguese staff there with wine and snacks and told them they will be back this evening. So we went there in the beginning of the evening and apparently we were too early (15 minutes) the Dutch owner said we're not open yet, well that's not a problem we wait but they didn't offer anything else then to sit in a windy corner and no offer of a drinks! I'm Dutch myself but even I couldn't believe this..empty restaurant and three people working, so you could't make time to sat us down with a drink and out of your way? Where I come from we don't treat guest like that! I could see there was a big party expecting that day but we would had been long gone by then. My friends were very upset and we decided to go away to find a better place that receive you in a more welcoming way..You give the Dutch hospitality a bad name...

Me and my girlfriend went there 2 weeks ago, for the vegetarian burgers but unfortunately they didn't have them anymore, so she went for the veggie pasta and I was going for something else to which the host replied "Really? That's so boring man" and I ended up taking his suggestion of the Portobello mushrooms which were divine, and I'm so glad I took them, and we had some nice talks with him too about Holland (the owners are Dutch) and living in Portugal. 10/10 definitely will go back if I go to Cascais for dinner. Super friendly and interesting environment!

We came here because we couldn’t figure out where we wanted to eat for dinner. All we really knew was that we wanted to eat dinner in Cascais, a town next to ours. We were navigating through the winding roads and the Google Map started taking us through a very hard-to-navigate area. We thought that it was just another one if Google’s useful shortcuts but then it said that we were arriving in 100 feet and that got us slightly worried that we had put in the wrong address. It told us that we arrived and we couldn’t see the restaurant. After looking around we found it (it was a little bit off the street). We had somewhat of a difficult time parking the car, but it was nothing to write a bad review about. We sat down and we were the only people in the restaurant. At the moment that I am writing this review it is very busy, so if you are one of the people that only goes to restaurants that are busy, you shouldn’t be worried. In fact, without a reservation, the only way to get in was to go early. Cutting right to the chase, I ordered the duck, which was one of the best meals that I have ever ordered in my life. We also ordered the “Pappardelle with Funghi and Truffle and with Parmesan Shavings”, “Drunken Lemon Chicken”, “Pumpkin Vegetable Soup with fresh Ginger”, “the Bread with Olive Tapenade”, and another sort of pasta dish that I can’t remember the name of. All of the dishes were absolutely to die for amazing. The “Drunken Lemon Chicken” was a creation of the Chef’s own making. It was cooked for hours in a wine and lemon sauce and the chicken was shredded. When I tried it, it wasn’t what I had expected; it was so much better. The duck however, was the best dish of the night. Then we ordered something called the “Chocolate Bomb” for dessert, which wasn’t on the menu, but was FANTASTIC. It was basically a slice of rich decadent cake that might as well have been fudge. It was amazing. Served with a strawberry it was a great end to the perfect dinner. This restaurant is a must. I would go out of my way to eat again. No matter what town you’re in. If you want good food, go here. (the picture is of the duck, but it doesn’t do it justice, you really have to taste it)

Sehr unfreundliche Besitzerin. Die Portionen sind sehr klein und die Gnocchi Beispielsweise wohl ein Fertiggericht, zu einem überteuerten Preis. Mit Kindern unbedingt fernbleiben - die sind hier nicht willkommen! ps: niemand von uns war eine Stunde auf der Toilette und dass wir sie schmutzig gemacht haben sollen, ist ja wohl die Frechheit schlechthin! Ja, unser 2-jähriger Sohn ist tatsächlich mit den Schuhen auf die Bank geklettert aber bevor er die Schuhe auf der Bank hatte, haben wir ihn wieder weggenommen. Die "wertvolle Balihand" hat er tatsächlich auch berührt (es war ihm etwas langweilig, weil wir eeewig aufs Essen warten mussten), aber wenn ein 2-jähriger das Teil kaputt machen kann, dann kann es nicht so teuer gewesen sein. Die Besitzerin war zu keinem Zeitpunkt nett, sondern durchwegs sehr unfreundlich.

Wir haben etwas abseits dieses kleine Lokal entdeckt und haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Wir haben uns von der Karte inspirieren lassen und den Fisch genommen. Eine sehr gute Wahl. Es war wirklich toll zubereitet. Kombiniert mit einer Vorspeise und einem leckeren Dessert und einer guten Flasche Wein hatten wir einen schönen Abend. Das Interieur ist sehr schön und auf Nachfrage beim Chef wurde unser Verdacht bestätigt, viele dekoelemente stammen aus der Heimat des Betreiber Paares, der Niederlande. ....Dies hier ist für den Chef persönlich: besser als jede Unox Suppe.....beim Nieuwjaarsduik, Eten was heerlijk. If you wanna have an amazing food experience, that´s the place to go! The food is modern and yet very comfort food! The drinks are very good and it is a lovely place! The chef is A-MA-ZING! And so is the entire family that runs the restaurant! No, they are not fluent in the portuguese language, but they are learning and have good will! My husband and I had an amazing experience and we highly recommend it!

One of the most beautifully decorated restaurants we have been to in Portugal. The food was delicious and healthy. The head chef has gathered inspiration from around the world and it is very apparent in the variety and depth of flavour in the dishes. The chicken curry was delicious and her use of fresh peppers and unprocessed ingredients in the hot sauce puree is remarkable. My wife had the veggie burger which she said was the best she's had. It also had very fresh flavours and herbs. Homemade tziki on-top was a wonderful touch. It is obvious that every detail of this restaurant was meticulously orchestrated, from the ingredients and preparation to the interior design. I honestly wish I could bring this restaurant home with me

Nous avons réservé pour 5 personnes. Le chemins pour s'y rendre est assez escarpé et difficile à faire avec une poussette. Une fois arrivés, la propriétaire nous dit que le restaurant est fermé. Elle a invoqué une excuse probablement fallacieuse.. Elle n'a pas daigné nous contacter pour annuler la réservation qui avait été confirmée !

Very rude service! Right as we finished our meal, the female owner took away our plates (including our drinks which were still full), told us she needed the table for other guests an handed us the bill. She was not even sorry for kicking us out and wanted richer guests.

Kvalitén på alla detaljer är väl genomtänkt i allt från inredning, design, toaletten och menyn som präglas av utmärkta råvaror tillagade med kärlek. Vi prövade surdegsbrödet med hemlagad tapenade som innehöll härliga bitar av pinjenötter. Den stekta och skivade tonfisken smällte i munnen och deras xitrondränkta kyckling gjorde sig fint med rostade rosmarinpotatis. Ett plus också för att man har lokalproducerat öl och juste utbud av matchande viner. Här stannar du om du vill ha personlig service lite frånskillt från turiststråken.

The restaurant was excellent from start to finish. It has a great atmosphere being a little out of the way and the service is very attentive and friendly. The food was exceptional. We had drunken chicken, pesto gnocci, beet ravioli, a vegetable soup, salad and of course some bubbles. Everything was excellent. Was a great find and absolutely would go back again if in the area.

Absolutely amazing! Best meal I had in Cascais and one of the best in a long time. Everything was right in place. The service is exquisite, run and served by the owners who take the time to listen and recommend. The food is creative, fresh and so tasty! Attractive vegan options. Local organic wines, FAB! The place is cute and special, from the moment you walk in you feel it. Music just embraces this magical experience. Prices are quite fair. I am looking forward to come back on my next visit.

The restaurant has a very nice decor. Praise to the interior designer! You felt right at home. Unfortunately the rest did not fit. :( We had to wait almost 90 minutes for the meal, half of the drinks were forgotten. The food looked good too, but the taste was nothing special. We asked where the food was and would have liked a friendlier answer. All in all, despite the nice ambience, I cannot recommend the restaurant.

We had a great time at this out of the ordinary bistro style restaurant. The food was great, fresh, and very well prepared. The staff was really friendly and attentive, even were fine with the possibility of us being a bit late for dinner service (kitchen closes at 22:00 but they were kind enough to say they could wait until 22:30. Many points for that! Decore might be a bit over done, but does not have any impact on the experience. Oh! The music was amazing! Thanks a lot will be back fore sure!

Deliciously different! My husband had drunken lemon chicken with a very unique presentation and I had wonderful mussels marinara. Ambiance, friendly owners... wanted to go back tonight but they are closed until Tuesday and we are leaving.

Most disappointing meal in Cascais. Not only did we get a starter and main but the portions were so small we had to go for another meal elsewhere. After paying €80! We never normally complain about a meal but the mains we had were so bad we felt we had to. Expecting a professional response from the owner she questioned and questioned us as to why we could ever doubt their amazing food. So we asked for the bill only to be received by a different waiter. We paid and said we were disappointed the owner never came back(she said she was going to taste the food and get back to us). So having paid and enjoyed everything but the food they cooked we left. The owner shouted at us saying "I tasted it and it was fine!" To which I replied "fair enough". Keep in mind we were about 50 metres away from the restaurant. And then she shouted "I guess it was just personal taste then!!" To which we completely ignored and kept walking. Honestly it was the least professional restaurant experience we have ever had. We are still in shock and currently eating in another restaurant because of their over priced portions(tiny portions). From a world travelling couple avoid this place! Clearly the customer has no opinion in this place.

Absolutely one of the worst mains I have ever had. Way over priced. We paid literally €10 for 10 mussels. The sea bass tasted like absolutely nothing. It was by far the worst sea food meal I have had in Cascais. When we told the owner, she was shocked and completely ignored the fact that the food was bad. She even shouted at us as we were leaving. The most unprofessional owner I have ever experienced!

Visited yesterday evening and all good until we received the bill. We were advised when ordering the tuna salad (as a starter) that the small option was not available so my husband opted for the medium. Very fresh and comprising of 6/7 pieces. Out of the fish main meal choices I chose the tuna at 14.95 - a very generous portion and very much larger than the tuna salad. On the bill the tuna salad was 15.50 so more expensive than the main meal for a much smaller portion. We did question it with the waitress who was very nice and confirmed with the owner that the bill was right So if you want tuna go for the main meal and save a bit of money!

This place is amazing, and I couldn't recommend it more. The staff were very friendly and spoke to us a lot about recommendations and their interesting lives coming originially from Holland. The food was incredible, the manchego with truffle honey was out of this world... we had the perfect experience from start to finish.

I got the tuna steak and it was wonderful! Seasoned perfectly with teriyaki sauce and grilled on point! The owner served us himself and told us about his adventure coming from Holand to Portugal! He was very nice and the place is comfortable and cozy. Definitely an experience to repeat!

A hidden gem in Cascaïs. Run by two Dutchies. Very recommendable if you like the typical Dutch 'gezelligheid' (cosy atmosphere) and variety of food. The Tuna was great as was the desert.

Lovely familybusiness. The place is filled with love, and the family running this place are so pleasant, polite and kind. The recommendations were a great success, and we enjoyed good beers, pink champagne and white wine as well as lovely food and brownie for desert. Not to mention the music! Perfect volume and very relaxing. Will definitely come back when in Cascais next time.

One of the most delicious meals! The risotto balls were so flavorful, the drunken lemon chicken melted in your mouth, and the beetroot raviolis were fresh and unique! Ended the night with a chocolate love bomb that was so rich and delicious. The food was absolutely splendid. The owners were very welcoming and personable and the ambiance of the place was wonderful. This place will be a must next time we’re in town!

Very good cooking and wide selection of different organic foods (meat, fish, vegetarian, vegan), great atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and encourages you to stay and very nice staff. Definitely check it out. Hint: Make sure you add a starter to your main vegetarian dish, otherwise the portion might be a little too small.

Owners Debora and Fred are very friendly and approachable couple and will make you feel relaxed from the moment you walk inside. Servings are mainly tapas size and encourage you to try more dishes from the menu. There is also a Bite of the Day offer which give you a whole meal option. With all their great wines to choose from, this small hideaway is a great spot to meet up with friends for an evening chat, drink and a bite. Highly recommended.
