The food is nice, but there isn't anything that distinguish it from any other good Indian restaurant.

When I came here at 1pm... it was empty. I was the only customer. It modern and clean. The food is fantastic. I got all the key Indian items I get to gage of quality. Everything is truly as it should be... I can’t think of one thing I would change and the price is on point.

I liked the food overall but two things made me have doubts. First of all, I saw a cockroach on the floor, second, they charged extra 2 euros for rice with each dish. Otherwise the food was fine, but felt like they lacked the spices Indian food is generally known for.

I went to this restaurant with my husband to celebrate our 11th anniversary. It was a Thursday night at 7pm and I was pleased by the fact that this tinny restaurant was not full.
The starter was a thin special type of bread (papad) with 4 types of sauces, after this, we moved to a meat samosa.
The samosa was delicious, nor too spicy or over seasoned. It was simply good.
Then, we moved to the main dishes. We ordered Butter Chicken for me and Chicken Korma for my husband. The portions weren't big. On our case, just 6~7 cubes of chicken for each of us; which is a kind of a disappointment because, in the end, you will be craving for more.
Do not forget to order rice as a side dish to complement your meal.
Both dishes, the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Korma, were very good. With the right amount of spice and very well executed.
The staff is very nice, they are always ready to take your orders and to explain each dish for you to have a great experience.
The restaurant has a balanced decoration and it feels cozy.
For sure I will return here.

The Tamarind restaurant has a simple interior with excellent food and service.
My husband and myself were treated with respect and warmth from the moment we entered this restaurant. Our meals were freshly prepared and delicious. I would highly recommend a meal here. Also expect good value for money.

En primer lugar, supuestamente es un local indio e italiano, pero sólo te dan la carta de comida India. Sin embargo, ese es el menor de los inconvenientes, ya que los platos fueron ridículos. Un plato de gambas y otro de pollo con 5 trozos cada plato, cada uno 12 euros. Es una vergüenza. Lo único decente fue el pan de coco y el servicio. Además, no querían que se pagara con tarjeta, a pesar de tener datáfono, un misterio. En resumen, dinero y tiempo desperdiciados. Espero que esta reseña haya sido de ayuda para salvar a a alguien de esta lamentable experiencia

they were racist. when I went there and ordered a biryani, they did not give me anything. Not even papad and when an indian family came, they were given so much free stuff and the biryani was very bad as it had a lot of cumin inside it. they were also very judgemental towards us and in this restaurant, the staff is also very rude and for them smiling is a crime. I would have given 0 stars. don't visit this restaurant at all.

I am pretty sure this is the best Indian food I’ve eaten in my life The chicken tikka was so tender and full of flavour. The chicken korma was so delicious and for the starter the onion bhaji was fantastic.
Service and ambiance were great. Loved this place.

Really BAD service. the staff was not bothered at all. We ordered Biryani and the rice was a bit raw. no salt in the food. we hardly had one spoonful. Horrible attitude of the staff. Even if u are starving, don’t go there. there are better options.

We visited tamarind as a group of five friends from India on a Friday evening. We ordered butter chicken, chicken biryani, lamb rogan josh and the "house" lamb curry, accompanied by plain and garlic naan and plain white rice. The food and the service were excellent and the atmosphere was light, tasteful and spacious. we will definitely visit it again.

The food was good and not very expensive Nothing that blew me out of the water, but it was a filling portion that I did not finish. I had a paneer masala and my mother got a pasta dish. It was fun to have the eclectic mix under one roof.

Been here for dinner and i must say it is one of the best Indian food restaurant in Lisbon ever. the ambience is very soothing and the staff is extremely helpful. I would like to mention Mr Kumar who served us and gave personal attention to us and made sure everything is served hot and on time. I really would love to visit again

When we travel, we try to sample as much of the local food, groceries and produce of the country as we can. But we do love our Indian food so we have that once a week.

Today happened to be that day and we were walking down the R. das Portas de Santo Antão street that has a lot of restaurants. We saw a few menus and then decided to go for Indian food. We Googled and found this restaurant that was close to us and had pretty good ratings and reviews. It was also a 98% match for us so we decided to give it a go.

The restaurant is surprisingly small for the number of reviews, but the number of reviews could be due to its location. The designer stores as well as a mall are in close proximity to the restaurant.

We got the Samosas to start with followed by the Goan Prawn Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Chili Paneer, Daal Makhani, Gobi Aloo, Bhindi Masala, Garlic Naan as well as Plain Naan. We asked for the spice level to be medium.

Most of the food was very flavorful and very close to the traditional Indian taste. Daal Makhani was by far the best. The Goan Prawn Curry was not what we expected and was too coconuty. The Bhindi masala was not that great either and too spicy. The rest was fantastic. In fact, we ordered a second round of the Saag Paneer. The portion sizes are good and a single entree could be shared by 2 adults.

Encomendei pelo uber eats, 2 pratos 30€ sem guarnição, onde em lado nenhum é referido, e onde nunca aconteceu com outros indianos. Liguei para o restaurante, a senhora que atendeu não falava Português e pouco Inglês, e o responsavél não quix falar.

Been twice already this week. Calm atmosphere and soft soothing music. Am vegetarian, food very tasty. Does Italian, pizza n pasta. Naan bread extremely good. Do not have to wait long for food. Though when full, waitressing a problem. Only one waitress to serve about 8/10 tables. No eye contact and no visits to the table after serving to check if everything is ok.

We were there tonight on February 7, 2018. My wife and I are originally from New Delhi, India. We were born and brought up there. In the restaurant we made it a special point to mention to the waitress that in order to ensure that we get authentic Indian food. We ordered Channa Masala, Alo Ghobi, Raita and Roti. Almost everything was a disaster. The portions are extremely small. I don't think they are enough for one adult. The Channa's were from a can, they were uncooked. The Roti's were burnt. I can go on and on but I think I have made my point. When we travel we normally like to patronize Indian restaurants. In this case we just want to forewarn people that they are patronizing on their on risk.

We stumbled upon this place on a hungry evening during our travels in lisbon starved for familiar indian flavours. We tried their chicken curry, chicken korma, kebabs and garlic naan everything served to specification, piping hot and delicious. The spices are perfect and the food is fresh and delicious. the staff was friendly and make you feel really welcome.

Found a bug in my food wasn't even offered a refund. Before the bug, food was poor as it is.
The review is by no means fake. Reviews left by me and my wife. As an owner at least take responsibility for your actions! I was at your restaurant at 6.30 on 27/11/17. I suggest you check your records and if need be check with your staff or cctv. I akso paid the full bill of 29 eurso with no refund or apology offered. Disgrace! Another suggestion, change your staff! When someone complains about a bug in their food apologies rather than just clean the plate! If you don't know how to run a restaurant and offer a service, Don't bother and close your restaurant.

We visited the restaurant as it was within walking distance from our hotel. I ordered Butter Chicken while my wife settled for Chicken tikka Masala. both we enjoyed the food and place was clean.

What a fabulous restaurant in lisbon, myself and my 16 year old son visited during our weeks holiday in september. We went for the dinner which was very reasonable. We asked a great waiter for some recommendations off the menu and he was extremely helpful. The food was amazing taste and presentation were a 10/10.

I have made frequent visits to this restaurant after a long shopping day at rossio. Although a small place the interior is well decorated which gives it a regal look. Ein wirklich sehr gutes Restaurant. Wir waren eine Woche in Lissabon und dachten am letzten Abend probieren wir mal was nicht portugiesisches. Und ich muss sagen wir waren echt überrascht. Der Service ist Nett und zuvorkommend. Das Essen schmeckt Hammer und die Preise sind günstig. Hätten wir vorher gewusst wie gut das Restaurant ist, wären wir öfter hier essen gewesen.

I took my family here and the experience and food exceeded expectations.
The staff were wonderful and the food was exquisite, stunningly presented and truly mouth watering. If you want to experience fine dining - Tamarind is well worth visit

Such good food with awesome flavors. Really varied menu for something that anyone would like from Indian to Italian. The Kahari paneer was amazing. Service, prices and food was great, would definitely return!

Enjoyed a delicious meal at the Tamarind. The butter chicken and onion bhajis were especially good. Nice modern decor, friendly staff and some delicious Indian flavours, as well as being reasonably priced for the high quality. Highly recommend.

Ho scoperto questo posto per caso. Locale arredato veramente bene, le cameriere molto gentili e pronte a preoccuparsi se il cibo va bene e se volevo addirittura il bis. Nonostante non parlo portoghese , il personale di servizio si è prodigato a farsi capire e a chiedermi se preferivo un cibo piccante oppure no . Dopo aver ordinato antipasti e il primo , si sono rese conto che non ero un esperto di cucina indiana, suggerendomi di mescolare il riso con le salse che mi avevano portato , anche se erano dell'antipasto. Qualità del cibo alta, quantità più che abbondante , ho fatto fatica a finire la mia porzione di riso chicken Biryani . Consigliato a tutti coloro che amano la cucina indiana in particolare i sapori speziati e piccanti , anche se si può chiedere il piatto non piccante. Rapporto qualità prezzo e quantità direi più che ottimo .

close to the stations Restauradores and Avenida. Very kind and friendly service. We ordered different plates and they were big! The food was great, The waitress was kind enough to tell us it would be too much for just two of us so we settled on the new one which was excellent. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was amazing.

As an Indian, I would not call the place up to my standards. However, the food we ordered was quite delicious with the spice level well adjusted. The restaurant is a small joint. So do remember to make a reservation! Very friendly service too.
If you're an Indian tourist who is really missing home, I'd recommend this place (only) if it's close by.

Ok, its a indian food, but spicy level is very very low. I said extremely spicy but that was nothing! Sorry, but indian without spicy is not indian.

My favourite indian restaurant in the Lisbon.We came here for special ocassions because of the taste and price, As like always was happy with the meal. It was the perfect combination of food, drink and atmosphere. Fantastic food, very friendly atmosphere and lovely small simple restaurant. The ice cream was home made and tastes great. Chicken tikka masala was very nice. Definitely one of the best meal in Lisbon. Highly recomended for excellent food in a fine ambiance.

Nice atmosphere, good service. The food was ok but my chicken labdar tasted a bit like tomato sauce and was not well flavoured. There are better and cheaper Indian restaurants in lisbon.

May 2013, we visited 5 different Indian restaurants. during our holiday in Lisbon. This one offered the least value for money. It was also the most expensive. The food was average to good. The service, decor and ambiance were compared to the others, below average. The chairs were very uncomfortable. Based on the recommendations on the Internet, we expected more.

Estuvimos ahi en el 2008 y nos lo encontramos de casualidad pero al ver que era un indio entramos. Nos encantó, el sitio es discreto y el trato bueno, pero la cocina muy buena. Autentico indio.
