We had an amazing time with the Surf Riders school. We made the progress we wanted and had loads of fun with the super friendly crew and teachers. We mostly surfed with Miguel, an awesome and passionate guy who even took the time to share his knowledge about the ocean wildlife with us. Thanks again for the good times!

Great place to learn how to surf. We initially booked one lesson, but ended up going back 2 more times because of the great atmosphere and the skilled instructors. We mostly surfed with Miguel, who's enthusiasm is contagious and he knows how to transfer his knowledge about surfing and the ocean in a clear way, so you get the confidence to catch some waves. Definitely go there if you want the best learning experience in Ericeira!

First time surfing and had great fun trying to learn! Our instructor (can’t remember his name sorry) had great patience with us and was very knowledgable of his sport. And we got photos to prove to everyone back home that we did it! The guys at Surf Riders are friendly locals sharing what they love to do.

The guys and girls at Surfiders are simply the best, nicest and most caring people you can meet, they care so much about making the experience of learning how to surf the best it can be and they made me feel so good about my own very poor surfing abilities every time I went. I wanted to try surfing once and I ended up booking two extra lessons with them because they made it so enjoyable and helped me to progress so much. The booking is very simple, either via phone or in person at the shop or at the beach. If you're going make sure to check the starting times of the lessons in advance as they change depending on the tides etc. I can't recommend them enough!

Amazing and very professional surf school. We immediately felt welcome there. They really care about you and help you to progress very quickly. Even the transfer to the surfspot was fun. One of the best vacations we had! We will definitely come back to the surfriders! Thanks for coaching us :)!

Top Surfschule!! Hatte zwei Group lessons mit George, der sehr bemüht ist um seine Schüler. Versucht jederzeit das Beste aus einem rauszuholen, ist sehr motivierend und man fühlt sich sehr sicher mit ihm. Buchung ist unkompliziert und auch spontan möglich. Bieten pickup und dropoff service vom hostel/hotel an.

I can only confirm the good reviews that are posted here. Super easy booking, great logistics, experienced and fun surf instructors and helpful staff before and after surfing. We surfed with George and had the best time. He is really friendly, whenever he held of to my board I felt super safe and he gave me feedback after every wave.

i had a great time with surfriders in ericeira. the crew is awesome. great vibe and a good surfing spot as well as good surfing eqipment. i will definitly come back to surf with those guys. they even gave me a pickup/dropoff from/to my hostel which was kinda far away so that i do not have to walk every time. i would totally recommend this surfing school.

Ik ben eerlijk gezegd niet helemaal tevreden over deze surfschool, wellicht omdat ik ook al bij andere surfscholen les heb gehad met betere ervaringen. In de gevorderde groep lag iedereen in een rijtje achter elkaar om vervolgens geduwd te worden door de instructeur, iets wat naar mijn mening niet helemaal voldoet aan een gevorderde surfles. Ook lagen er veel surfers op één plek in het water, waardoor er verschillende keren mensen op elkaar botsten. Daarnaast ook weinig tips en één ochtend een instructeur gehad die niet goed Engels sprak. Wel positief zijn de goede golven die er waren, wel oppassen op de rotsen die in het water liggen!

My experience with Surfriders was really really good. Was my very first time surfing and it was so nice, that I ended up taking a lesson every day. They are very friendly, helpful and the teachers are great! They give you confidence and always make sure you have a good time. Depending on how fast you learn, they help you making steps to another level. The surfspot is great, good waves, for beginners as well as intermediate or pro. When finished the lesson, you can shower and drink a coffee and they can bring you back home again. So, 5 stars for Surfriders ❤️

Amazing surfing school! I came to Ericeira hoping I surf a bit, and ended up taking 7 lessons over 5 days. These guys really take care of you. I was picked up at my hotel brought to the beach, fit with a wetsuit and board each day. They divide you up into groups based on your skill level and there is a class for everyone. Each instructor was so kind, helpful and inspiring. I’m so pleased with my progress over the week and loved meeting people from all over the world. Big thanks to everyone at SurfRiders. Best surfschool we've experienced. We had 6 days surfing lessons and went from beginners to beginners that can surf;) everyday Sami picked us up at the hotel and brought us to the beach. They divide the group in such a way that everyone will surf as much as possible and learn something every day. They really pay attention and make you a better surfer. And most important we've made a lot of fun! We are definitly coming back to enjoy some Nice waves with this great team.

This surf school is the best I've tried in Ericeira so far, the instructors are both professional and fun at the same time, Samuel is well organised, very helpful and really friendly with everyone. I had a great time with them and I even came back to Ericeira to surf with them again. Definitely recommended!

This was the best! We had a very large group as part of a pre wedding group activity, and they were super accomadating and managed to make everyone feel like they got more than enough one on one time. The instructors were super invested in ensuring each rider had a good surf and made it their mission to get everyone up on the board several times. They were personable and funny and super knowledgeable, giving everyone great personalized tips to help their surfing. I can’t say enough good things about surfirders and can’t wait to go back and go surfing with them again. The sweatshirts are also absolutely worth a buy!

The best surf school in Ericeira! I went in December and Sam was really a good teacher. I’ve learned a lot with him. I came back in July for a couple of weeks. Sansão, Sam, Catarina and Arnaldo were here everyday and they gave me the best lessons. They are really a great team. Thanks to those guys I’ve progressed a lot. They are very cool and I had a lot of fun with them. I really recommend this surf school. You rock guys! See you soon!

Amazing surfing school, my friends and I really had the best time! I just spent one full week of surf (beginners) lessons with Sami and his team in Ericeira. This was my first surfing experience and everyone warned me that at first it might be a bit frustrating, basically because it can be difficult. Well, it was the opposite, it was FUN from day 1, the coaches are amazingly good, they watch for every detail and manage to help you progress very quickly. And above all, they are great and fun people! I barely knew about surfing when I got there and by the end of the week I managed to catch some waves on my own, turn etc. I am already looking forward to going back. I definitely recommend it :-)

If you’re looking for surf lessons, go to Surf Riders! Did 1 beginner lesson and 4 intermediate lessons spread over 6 days (had some experience already, couple of days here and there) Sammy & Samsão really improved my skills and me a better surfer. We also did SUP and it was a lot of fun and great feeling paddling on the ocean with the swell coming in. Would come again and I definitely recommend it! Good job Surfriders Team!

Samuel has great knowledge and a very friendly person .... although we went surfing for the first time we were able to stand on the board and surf because we were taught the basics really well . 100% recommended for beginners trying to learn and have fun .

Instructors are good surfers and they know the beaches very well. We got some lessons with them and while we were a bit disappointed by the size of the class we were quickly turned around by their skill and knowledge. Personally I believe the group lessons in particular lack a bit of refinement of the individual technique, however they are very good at managing the group even in adverse conditions. Their prices are fairly competitive and definitely appropriate while their English isn't perfect. Overall a recommended option for surfing in Ericeira.

Loved my 5 session package with these guys. Very professional and knowledgable coaches. I loved how much time they spend with each individual discussion points to work on throughout the week. They really went out of their way to make this a great week. Including letting me use there gear outside of lessons. Can’t recommend Surf Riders highly enough.

We had the absolute best time at Surf Riders with Sami and his team! It was our first time on the board, but the boys really taught us exceptionally well and made us feel comfortable in the waves and on the board at all times. Surf Riders is professional, punctual, entertaining, friendly and funny - and definitely the best choice you can pick to learn how to surf. Will definitely return to get better :)

We went to Ericeira in the beginning of April, facing bad weather, wild ocean and big waves... Not the ideal situation for 3 beginners... But the surf instruction approach of Sansaõ and Samuel of Surf Riders Ericeira is really great. We were riding waves on our first day! On day 5 we learned to paddle into deeper water and tried to catch the waves by ourselves. That was really hard, but thanks to the motivating teaching of Sansaõ we had the courage to keep on trying and even booked ourselves a 6th lesson afterwards :). We'll be back in October!

We (2 newbies) had an absolutely amazing time during our six days of surfing with the Surf Riders Team at Matadouro Beach in Ericeira. They always chose the best time of the day to get into the water so that it wasn’t too crowded and the waves became more challenging during the lesson. The equipment, short theory and warm-up sessions were great. Moreover, Sami and Arnold really seemed to enjoy teaching and sharing their love of surfing with everyone. Their instructions were spot on and eventually we all managed our first rides! Thanks for an awesome sporty vacation :D

At first we really had issues with deciding on a good surf school. Luckily, we found Surf Riders. We highly recommend the school if you want to learn surfing with a great team of professional and really patient and motivating teachers. We actually learned a lot during the lessons (with quite a lot of fun thanks to the Coaches, especially Arnaldo!) and are definitely coming back next year. We wouldn't go anywhere else. I had both boys with Surfriders in June this year. One an adavanced surfers (16 yrs) and the other (13 yrs) beginner. Want to say that I'm utmost impressed by both coaches - Samuel and Sansao. They really understand how to motivate the different class attendees from kids to adults acknowledging their experience and performance levels. Both of my boys really enjoyed the days with Surfriders. The older one on his way to the next level the little fully motivated and enthusiastic about surfing now. Next time in Portugal we will certainly go for a next class with Surfriders. Keep up the good work and thanks again.
