Fantastic stay in a fabulous location. Staff, facilities and food were first rate and the wine tour and tasting were excellent.

Perfect in every way! My mom and I stayed at Quinta Nova on the final night of our Portugal vacation and were soooo glad we did - our only regret was not staying for 2 nights! Beautiful property with amazing views of the Duoro River and Valley - there were several cozy living rooms throughout the guest house to enjoy while reading, playing cards, or relaxing. Our room was spacious and sparkling clean, and had an enormous bed that was heavenly. Lovely on-site restaurant that is nice for a lunch or dinner splurge (appreciated the vegetarian options available), wine tour and tastings, wonderful free breakfast, and extremely attentive staff. I appreciated the attention to detail such as pick-up and drop-off at the nearby train station, note and chocolates in our room upon arrival, etc. There werent many hotel guests during our stay, so we really loved the peaceful and relaxing ambiance of Quinta Nova..especially after the hustle and bustle of Lisbon and Porto. I imagine its probably a bit busier during the summer, when the weather is warmer and the pool is open. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed here for Valentines Day of this year. We had an amazing experience at this place. Everything from the staff, wine, food, grounds, and stunning drive to the hotel was absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough good about this place. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Amazing place for a special occasion.

Over priced, and they nickel and dime you for every extra. You are captive to a very expensive menu, and overpriced wines - you even have to pay if you want to taste their wines after a tour! They upsell everything, except for two low quality pillow chocolates which were sarcastically pointed out to us as a gift.5 star property with a 1 star pricing model.

Fantastic hotel and winery. Suite 6 was spacious and well-designed with a huge, comfortable king sized bed. Grounds are lovely with lots of individual spots to relax and enjoy the view. Staff were friendly and accommodating. On site restaurant was delicious, if pricey.

Lugar lindo, paisagem linda, o restaurante é excelente pratos deliciosos e o atendimento também. Fizemos a visita guiada com degustação foi ótima vale muito a pena . Dormimos duas noites o café da manhã também foi muito gostoso, somente a cama do quarto dormimos numa cama alta que não gostamos muito mas o resto recomendo e voltaria na vinícola.

Beautiful winery with friendly staff at the loja. The best part is the river view, as well as the grounds. But mainly the river view. Not the cheapest wine in the region - Vallado has better pricing for port of same age or older. But do for sure stop by here and get a bottle or two for your collection of Douro.

Nice winery in Douro River Valley. Wine tasting did not go so well because you can't choose the wines you want to try and there were no snacks to help open the palate. The small restaurant was very good. The views were worth the trip.

We did a guided tour with a tasting of three entry-level wines (€20 - only tour or only tasting was €16). Friendly guide and interesting to see the state-of-the-art equipment that this luxury estate has. We did not visit the vineyard, but we did visit a new small museum about the history of port making. Be sure to order your snacks in advance, as when we returned for our tasting the kitchen was closed and we only had saltine crackers to pair with our wines (most Portuguese wines are made to be enjoyed with foods, much like Italian wines). Great views from the wine shop.

Beautiful place. We did the hike on a very hot day, but the surroundings were absolutely worth it. Unfortunately, when we came back, we weren't aloud to have a drink in the restaurant. This was for hotel guests only. Also, the showers (which were open in each toilet) were for hotel guests only. We could go to the wine shop a bit further for a drink or go home. We decided to have a vinho do porto, the most expensive one we had in all our time in Portugal. The place is absolutely beautiful, but a long way drive for the hike only. I'd suggest to stay here if you want the full experience, although it'll cost you...

We had an AMAZING stay at the Quinta Nova hotel! Clean and comfortable rooms that look over the incredible Douro Valley. We would 100% stay again. The restaurant and chef were remarkable with a tasty 5-star meal. Our server Ruben Lima was extremely knowledgeable, caring and provide exceptional service for our meal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel to everyone!

Fantastic view from the Quinta!
It is worth to spend all day doing nothing, just sitting on the chair to see the cloud move, to feel the wind blow, to hear the trains goes-by and to observe the sunshine change in the vineyard.

The property and the service are amazing. Probably one of the best in the region. HOWEVER, it's located in the opposite side of the main road, so getting to the hotel is a far and a somewhat difficult drive specially when it's dark.Because of that it may be a better option to find a similar quinta in the other side of the river.

Excellent service. Delicious restaurant - our favorite meal on our entire Portugal trip. Do not miss this place, if you don’t take a full night in Douro you are truly missing out on a once in a lifetime experience !

A beautifully scenic and relaxing hotel. Wonderful and friendly staff. Alvero Mateus our server was delightful, extremely professional and very knowledgeable. He helped make our dinner a lovely dining experience. Say hi to Alvero, he's just so helpful.

Words cannot describe the beauty of this place. The views from the rooms are breathtaking. The hotel has such charm, and the staff were superb. The dinner at the restaurant was excellent. My only regret was not staying longer.

Based on the pricing my expectations for the quinta were high. We were lucky to see the wine cellars during the harvest but the info provided during the tour was minimalistic. We chose the slightly upgraded wine tasting, sadly the wines did not impress and stayed on the high acidic side. The lunch at the restaurant was nice, however for the price tag of 75€ per person for a 3 course meal with 3 wines I expected more - and definitely not the 4€ for 0.75 water bottle price tag - definitely much much lower value for money than in some other quintas nearby (Carvalho, Portal, de la Rosa). It is nice, but it just doesn’t reach the price tag unfortunately.

O atendimento prestado em nossa visita foi maravilhoso, feito por quem nasceu e vive no Douro e do Douro. We had a wonderful tour conducted by someone who was born and live at Douro.

Excellente expérience au vignoble Quinta Nova. Nous avons fait le tour guidé du vignoble avec des explications très pertinentes de notre guide qui prenait le temps de répondre à toutes nos questions. La dégustation de vin était plus qu’agréable avec une magnifique vue des vignes en prime. Nous avons eu un gros coupe de cœur pour cet endroit!

Wonderful setting, we especially enjoyed the late afternoon sun by the pool, which is surrounded by vineyards. The view of the river and hills is breathtaking. Room was luxurious with old world charm, service friendly and the food tasty (although few vegetarian options). Because it’s quite a drive to get there, make this a destination, spend time at the property . In the morning we walked through the vineyards. They also have wine making tours. This was a bit of a splurge for us, but certainly worth it.

Recently had a 2 day stay at Quinta Nova. We had a wonderful stay, you can not beat the beautiful location and the views are simply stunning. We arrived to the property via train and we were able to organise transfers to and from the hotel which saved a fairly long walk up the hill. The room was clean and comfortable and had a nice outlook over the terrace and vineyards. The pool area was beautiful and was a nice area to relax. During our stay we did the sunset boat cruise which was awesome, more great views and excellent hospitality. We also had a 3 course dinner which was exceptional and found breakfast to be sufficient. Not a huge choice but all very fresh and tasty. We also found time to do the winery tour and tasting. The guide and staff at the wine shop were excellent and the tour was interesting and informative. We did have a few small room issues during our stay which was the only negative but we would still highly recommend Quinta Nova.

Ate at their restaurant Conceitus. The fotos i found and the menu (and prices) all suggested fine dining. It was a major disappointment. The price/quality ratio is poor and i wouldn't advise any friends to eat hers.

Highly recommend their lunch with wine tasting, one of the best you can find in the valley with unbeatable view. We have also found our favorite value for price wine throughout the valley at Quinta Nova - their unoaked blend tinto. Must try

WOW!!! GO THERE!!
We came spontaneously through a recommendation and it was the best day of our trip!
Thia place is AMAZING! the view is fantastic, the wine was great!
We did the wine tour and tasting with Sofia, she explained us with great knowledge and passion about the process of making wine and the history of the place.
They have a luxury hotel, we didn't stayed but would definitely will come back to experience that.
They also have a shef restaurant, usually you need to reschedule your visit there, but they agreed to have us and the food was the best food we eat at our trip.
It a good price for the value you get.
A BIG RECOMMENDATION from me :)

Pick up from the train station was great including the return journey, we found out more from the driver than we did from the winery staff.
We had kids in tow which did not really help on the day 4 us and the staff, the staff cannot be faulted in any way.
The wine museum was shut on two attempts to gain access.
A suggestion would probably be from our point of view is a video presentation and something 4 the kids to do. A slide and a swing would probably do as the wine tasting is 4 the adults without a doubt, but something is needed for the youngsters to do.
Otherwise a great time was had by the rest of us and we will hopefully visit again.

What a lovely day of wine! The tour and tasting was great, but the lunch was the best part. We had a delicious multi course meal with wine pairings in a really beautiful room. Staff was really friendly. Beautiful views from the grounds.

Excellent stay. Although pricey but the experience is a treasure. The Wine Museum is a blast to the past and the wine Tour is very educational. Needless to say what is a wine stay without a few glasses of those execellant wines. Place is away from town centre so it gives opportunity to fully disconnect.

The location is spectacular. The building is old and very comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. The food was delicious as was the wine and port. We were here in winter so I imagine a summer visit would be even nicer.

If you want a nice lunch with a view, this ia THE place. Nice food, fantastic atmosphere. Make sure you go in a sunny day. Best routes of the Douro are just nearby. A must go!

When you compare price/performance ratio it is hard to say it is worth to stay here. Premium room is 250€ but there is no window in the room and you can smell the moisture, there is not an alternative to go to nearby for dinner so the dinner menu is 50€ per person without any drink included. The location and atmosphere is OK.

Great place for wine tasting. Wine House offers 4 set of wines (1 white, 2 reds) starting at €12 and a snack card with local delicisies. Best enjoyed on the terrace with a great view over the vineyard.

Amazing stay at a quite wine estate in Douro valley. Perfect for a couple days to wind down and enjoy the amazing terraced hills of the Douro plus the walking trail throughout the property was a nice plus. Buffet breakfast was one of the best I have had in Portgal with fresh croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Cet hôtel est situé sur la montagne et nous avons une vue incroyable sur les vignobles et le Douro. Il faisait 37 degrés Celsius et nous nous sommes baignés dans une piscine donnant sur cette vue. Rien ny manque. La chambre était grande et très confortable. Il sagit dun hôtel boutique très luxueux. La nourriture était également excellente. Petit bémol: lhôtel est un peu difficile à trouver. Il faut suivre les indications des pancartes indiquant Quinta Nova seulement. Ne pas essayer de trouver les indications du nom au complet.

Charming hotel in the Douro Valley, perfect for a couples weekend getaway. Definitively better not to visit during winter as it rains a lot, but despite the bad weather we had a lovely time.

Quinta Nova was a beautiful, yet quaint hotel in the Douro Valley. Everything from the grounds, to the rooms, to the service, was wonderful. The only thing to be aware of is the drive in- the roads a a bit tumultuous, and would be beast not to drive at night. However, the hotel does a pre fixed meal for dinner with wine pairings that is to die for.
