Viel zu teuer für das was man bekommt bzw. nicht bekommt. Wir wollten uns mal (für mehr als 100 Euro) was gönnen und wurden total enttäuscht: Ein kleines Zimmer, weiße Wände, phantasielos eingerichtet, schlichte Möbel ohne Stil, ein defekter Kleiderständer, Blick zum Parkplatz. Im Bad erwartet man für den Preis auch ein paar Utensilien, aber nichts! Ebenso kein Fön. Das Frühstück war auf niedrigstem Niveau. Bei der Frage nach Tomaten kam ein eher mürrisches "mal sehen, ob ich welche habe" - aus der privaten Küche wurde dann doch ein kleines Schälchen gebracht. Einfachster Standardkaffee. Es gibt tatsächlich ein paar Zimmer die rustikaler und gemütlicher sind, für unser "Notzimmer" aber fast den gleichen Preis zu nehmen ist schon frech. Das einzig positive war der hervorragende Panoramablick, den man aber auch von woanders aus haben kann. Den Weg zu finden war nicht leicht, nachts dem Navi zu folgen führt auf falsche, gefährliche Sandwege in den Weinbergen.

Bel endroit, bien situé et propre. Carlos et sa femme font un très bon travail, le repas et le petit déjeuner étaient excellent. De plus, ils parlent très bien français, il prend le temps avec ses convives à la table de discuter. Je recommande assurément !

Carlos and his wife are very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Their quinta has a wonderful location and the views are magnificent. The food is also excellent - we strongly recommend booking suppers with Carlos.Walking the neighbourhood is a very nice exercise, especially if you have Casper (the dog) with you.All in all, a really good experience!

Very quiet and cosy. Family type of stay. As the guests have dinner and breakfast in the same table, all chat in a group. The mix of travelers from different part of the world makes the trip very enjoyable. Love the open view of Douro high up the high. A good recharge for people from the city.

Nous avons passé une nuit. La Quinta est assez isolée, nous avons donc choisi de prendre la table d'hôtes. Quelle déception ! Pour 30€, une soupe, du riz au canard et un morceau de gâteau, un peu de vin, bref bien trop cher ! La chambre était petite, vétuste, certe avec vue sur le Douro. Bref, je ne recommande pas! Et quand j'ai gentiment fait part de ma déception a Carlos, celui-ci l'a mal pris! Et nous n'étions pas les seuls a le dire. Le petit déjeuner était aussi très moyen pour le prix. La piscine n'était pas nettoyée. Bref n'y allez pas!

Fabuloso para descansar, maravilhoso para descontrair, localização maravilhosas para conhecer o Douro....

El lugar es precioso por el enclave en que se encuentra, aunque tiene varios aspectos a mejorar, y la relación calidad/precio no se ajusta a la realidad. Me pareció caro, teniendo en cuenta que hemos pagado 220€ (agosto 2018) por dos noches con desayuno. Exteriores: La piscina con tamaño adecuado para refrescarse, no obstante se queda corta en cuanto a tumbonas, y es imperdonable que de las 4 tumbonas que había, dos estaban hechas polvo y no se podía levantar el respaldo. Le falta algo de mantenimiento en ese sentido. Punto positivo: hay un cesto con toallas a disposición de lo clientes, lo que está genial para dejar luego allí las usadas y no andar siempre con toallas húmedas. La zona de hierba es muy pequeña, aunque hay otros espacios donde poder estar, aunque no están pegados a la piscina. De noche, no estaría mal una luz en la zona de sofás y mesas con vistas, ya que está completamente a oscuras y esto hace que tengas que ir alumbrando con el móvil. Interiores: La zona de desayuno es común a todos los huéspedes con una gran mesa y vistas al río, lo cual está genial, pero el desayuno es bastante normal y justo de variedad teniendo en cuenta el precio por noche. Hay una zona de estar en la primera planta también con vistas, pero es tal el calor que hace en el alojamiento que no te apetece estar allí, sino que estás mucho mejor o fuera o en tu habitación con el aire acondicionado. Existe otra zona en la planta -1 donde hay un billar, damas, cartas, así como una zona de sofás y televisión con varias películas en DVD. Habitación: de tamaño correcto, y sin televisión (esto no solemos echarlo en falta en nuestro caso, pero nos resultó curioso). Hay aire acondicionado que puedes regular a tu gusto y la verdad que fue una gozada con la ola de calor que había. El punto negativo en este caso estaba en el baño, donde estaba roto el enganche de la pared para la alcachofa de la ducha, y si sumamos a esto el hecho de que la cortina de la ducha quedaba corta, había que hacer malabares para ducharse y que no saliera todo el agua fuera. El resto del baño correcto, con lavabo embutido en la encimera. Algo que eché de menos fueron los típicos ganchos para las toallas, por lo que había que colocarlas siempre en el toallero de dentro de la ducha. Ah! Cómo curiosidad, había un cristal con una cortina en la habitación que dejaba ver (si la abrías) el interior del baño en su totalidad. Vino: se puede degustar tanto blanco como tinto (te cobran laa botellas consumidas el último día), y también se puede comprar (y está buenísimo). Accesos: camino estrechisimo de adoquines con un desnivel de más del 40%, no apto para los que se agobian al volante o vértigo (subes entre terrazas con los barrancos al lado). Cenas: es posible reservar para cenar allí con 24h de antelación, nosotros lo pedimos al confirmar la reserva (6 días antes), y se les olvidó, así que tuvimos que irnos a cenar a Pinhao. Primero la verdad es que el propietario nos decía que no nos lo había confirmado, hasta que le sacamos el mail y ahí sí reconoció el error, y tomó nota para que eso no vuelva a ocurrir (andaban agobiados por un tema familiar pero lo cierto es que deberían haberselo anotado para avisarnos de que no podrían darnos la cena, y sin embargo, se olvidaron). En resumen, el alojamiento es correcto y los propietarios majísimos, pero esto no quita para que resulte caro con mala relación/precio según instalaciones y servicios.

The drive up was terrifying but the view was remarkable - from the room, from the pool and from the various sitting areas. Carlos and his wife were gracious hosts and very helpful planning daily itineraries. The room was small bit clean. Dinner was delicious.

A Quinta de Santo Antônio é o lugar ideal para quem realmente precisa se conectar com a natureza. O lugar é lindo, maravilhoso, tem uma vista majestosa. Um espetáculo. Recomendo o lugar, que está localizado em uma região classificado pela UNESCO como patrimônio cultural da humanidade.

Carlos and his wife are excellent hosts. They will bend over backward to ensure your stay is top shelf. Modern conveniences with gorgeous hilltop views. Dinner is served together at the same table for all guests and alcohol lubricates the conversation. Wonderful concept. Best stay so far in Portugal by far.

Enjoyed our overnight stay here. Although the room was small very clean and the view was stunning. Carlos the owner was very hospitable and the evening meal served around a large table was great for getting all residents talking. Would stay here again if visiting the area.

I had a great time at the Quinta. It is a very beautiful and quite place. It is the perfect place to relax. I especially enjoyed the Dinner with all guests at one big table. Carlos and His wie are great hosts and I would really want to come back here again.

We stayed at the Quinta for six nights. It was my second time there. We had an amazing time and Carlos is a great host. The Quinta is very beautiful and it is a really nice place to relax. I would recommend coming here to everybody.

Fabulous, an absolute treasure of a place. Happy to recommend to anyone with an interest in the beautiful Douro valley and port.

The host family is lovely and the entire hotel is just beautiful. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast together with all the other guests. There is pool billiard table in the basement and a wonderful living room. To get there you need to take the road from the N323.

Been there twice. The rooms are nice, the food is good. The port is fantastic. If you luck out and have interesting guest also staying, a long night of conversation can be had.

Nach einer strapaziösen Anfahrt, über teilweise unbefestigte Wege, waren wir froh das malerisch gelegene Weingut gefunden und erreicht zu haben.Umso enttäuschender war die Ankunft. Der Gastgeber Carlos zeigte uns unser Zimmer, in dem eine 0,33l Wasserflasche bereitstand. Das gemeinsame Abendessen fand an diesem Abend nicht statt, da seine Frau und Köchin frei hatte. Auf Wunsch könne er uns ein Lokal im Nachbarort empfehlen. Dies bedeutete eine weitere gute Stunde Autofahrt und den Verzicht auf ein leckeres Glas Wein.Am nächsten Morgen wurden wir gefragt, ob wir am gemeinsamen Abendessen teilnehmen wollten. Obwohl es keine weiteren Infos zum Essen selbst gab, waren wir gespannt. Der Tisch war für 10 Gäste gedeckt und pünktlich um 20:00 Uhr war als Vorspeise eine Suppe serviert, obwohl noch nicht alle Gäste anwesend waren und noch kein Gast Platz genommen hatte. Aperitif und einführende Worte des Gastgebers? Fehlanzeige!Das Hauptgericht wurde als Buffet gerichtet, es gab einen ordentlichen Rotwein und stilles Wasser. Zügig wurde das Dessert und ein Portwein serviert. Auf Wunsch gab es einen Espresso im Plastikbecher.Alles in Allem hatten wir den Eindruck, dass es schnell gehen sollte, damit der Tisch für das Frühstück gerichtet werden kann.Von der Gastgeberin bekamen wir an den zwei Tagen nichts mit. Ein Getränk am Nachmittag zu ordern oder Fragen zu stellen, war kompliziert und wurde ironisch kommentiert. Schade, wir hatten uns nach der tollen Bewertung mehr versprochen

Eine familiär geführte Quinta mit spektakulärem Blick auf die wundervolle Douro-Landschaft. Die Anfahrt über ein schmales Strässchen ist etwas abenteuerlich, aber man wird dafür reichlich belohnt. Das gemeinsame Nachtessen fand an einer langen Tafel statt, mit dem freundlichen Eigentümer, und bot Gelegenheit, neue Bekanntschaften mit Mitreisenden zu schliessen. Von lauschigen kleinen Plätzen draussen bieten sich schöne Ausblicke auf die umliegenden Rebhänge. Auch der kleine Pool hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber zweckmässig eingerichtet; die Hotel-Lobby ist grosszügig und bietet sogar einen Billardtisch. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist gut. Eine schöne Erfahrung auf unserer Portugal-Reise, die wir nicht missen möchten.

Amazing views over the Douro valley. The owner is very sociable and helpful in planning day-trips. Beware if following Google maps driving directions. Only take the driveway where there is a sign for the Quinta. Google directed us up some rutted dirt roads only fit for a tractor!!

Incredible views and the best way to experience the Douro Valley. Carlos and his wife were incredible hosts and made us fell like part of the family.

It is a little far away from town but the view was very good. Need to drive in a very narrow road to reach the location.

An ultramodern agritourismo with the most stupendous views imaginable, and all with a warm, family environment in a large, modern, elegant and beautiful home. You’ll have the opportunity to eat a home cooked communal dinner and share it with a few guests and your delightful host, Carlos, and sample delicious wine and 30 year old port from his vineyard. Our room was small but very comfortable and had an unbelievable view. There’s a nice outdoor swimming pool, perched probably six miles above the earth. If you make it up the mountain roads without guard rails, and Carlos’s driveway, you’ll be in heaven.

We arrived after driving south from Santiago after walking part of the camino. We were warmly welcomed by the owner. The location high up in the Douro Valley offers beautiful vistas of the river and terraced vineyards as far as you can see. We were welcome to walk the property. We enjoyed the outdoor "rooms" with comfortable seating and lovely views. Great for relaxing. Meals were served around a communal table that permitted opportunities to chat with other guests. The meals were excellent and accompanied by wine and port from the vineyard. Individual guest rooms were modern and stylish.Thank you, Carlos.

aufgrund der guten bewertungen haben wir dieses hotel gebucht. leider wurden wir enttäuscht. Wir kamen 1 stunde zu früh (14.00h) beim hotel an. der besitzer carlos kam gehetzt heraus; er sei am essen und wir zu früh. auf unsere frage, ob wir ein sandwich essen könnten, die barsche antwort in einer stunde! ob er uns ein restaurant empfehlen könne: in einer stunde. die zimmer sind klein, für eine nacht ok. im zimmer roch es nach nicht gereinigten Wasserabläufen. das frühstück wird an einem langen tisch mit allen gästen zusammen eingenommen. als einziger pluspunkt können wir hier die wunderbare lage, oberhalb des douro-tals angeben.

And thats as far as we can go on a foreign-language basis. But we loved the place and hope to go back.

This is a really magical place with the most fantastic view over the Douro (though the steep narrow access road is not for those uncomfortable with mountain roads!). Delightful, charming and accomodating hosts and lots of nice lounge areas inside and on the terrace near the nice little pool looking out over the river, valley and vineyards. Nice breakfasts - and also dinners if booked in advance - though latter very pricy by Portuguese standards. Otherwise very good value.

Localização sobranceira ao Rio Douro, com magnífica paisagem. Bom atendimento. Ideal para descansar. Quarto relativamente pequeno. Alojamento caro. Acesso dificultado.

This Quinta is a little gem that overlooks the Douro river right off the classic Douro valley road (N222) a few miles before Pinhao. The room was stylish, comfortable and very clean and the same went for the lounge and restaurant space inside. You could spend all day taking in the scenary from the pool/lounge area or if you need some exercise walking (climbing) the rows of vines on this estate. The owner, Mr Carlos, who runs both the vinyard and the hotel and speaks fine English, was a gracious host who somehow managed to be always available but never got in the way.

This was an excellent palce to stay and a great way to experience the Duoro valley - highly recommended!
