Truly a wonderful little hotel in the small village of Tabuaco! The rooms had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Spotlessly cleaned. Monica, who welcomed us to the hotel was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We arranged a trip to the family vineyard which we can only highly recommend. Very informative, wonderful tour and a superb wine tasting. Breakfast was a little different on each day of our stay, simple but good variety and delicious pastries! The little town has a few restaurant options - some are closed on Sunday nights and Monday. You can also arrange a home cooked dinner at the Casa if done in advance. Its quite a windy road down to the valley, but simply beautiful with some great vistas.

Amazing place, the perfect mix of contemporary and classic.Spotlessly clean room, wonderful breakfast, lovely friendly staff. A visit to the family vineyard is a MUST my husband doesn’t drink wine but also loved the trip.Jose tour was both informative, amusing and by far the best of our 3 week tour.. The wine they produce is wonderful so the wine tasting was an added bonus. If you are offered the evening meal, cooked by Virginia desert by Jose Sn. Jump at the chance, it’s like attending an extended family meal. A really wonderful evening with the best meal we have had in 3 visits to Portugal (we love the food)

The Casa was lovely and the family who own/run it are very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very quiet and charming little place, but while Tabuaço is a convenient for wine touring, the village is very limited for services. We would stay in a larger centre next time such as Regua or Lamego to have better access to restaurants, etc. Only improvements the hotel could provide bottled water in the room, and offer eggs for breakfast rather than all the sweets.

Very helpful staff, even when we arrived after normal check in hours they returned to the hotel quickly to check us in. Gave us great tips about restaurants and wineries to tour the next day.

This is a small, quiet hotel in the lovely village of Tabuaco. We were met by the sweetest lady who checked us in and showed us to our rooms. There is no elevator as it is an old family home. Everything was very clean and comfortable. There was an air-conditioner which was nice since Portugal was having a heat wave. Our host told us about the area and mentioned a street market that was being held the morning we left, which we visited and enjoyed. The Douro Valley is beautiful and we enjoyed our time there. Also ate at the fun 5120 Taverna while in Tabuaco. Delicious food and fun place!!

Ideal place to stay in the Douro. Exquisite and friendly service. A quaint town with several good restaurants, the taberena is the best. Close br several small medieval villages great for walking.

Hôtel rural situé dans un village agréable et très calme. Parfait pour une étape dans la vallée du Douro. Hôtel et chambre très confortables. Accueil super. Petit déjeuner correct. À recommander.

This is a very well maintained, clean property with comfortable room. The staff are very helpful, friendly n go out of their way to assist you. It is located in a small quaint village with a beautiful views of the mountains but you need a car to get to.it.

Boutique hotel in small town of Douro valley. Nice room, good breakfast. Limited restaurants in vicinity and only on-street parking are inconvenient, but manageable.

O quanto para 3 pessoas fica no segundo andar e não tem elevador. O quarto é duplo e lindo. Mas não tem geladeira (péssimo), e o quarto que fica a terceira pessoa não tem ar condicionado (péssimo tbm). Fomos na primavera e já estava quente, imagina no verão? Minha filha teve que arrastar o sofá cama pra frente da porta pra conseguir dormir. E pra fechar com chave de ouro, nunca usei uma toalha tão áspera. Pareciam bacalhau seco, arranhava a pele. É a casa linda, café da manhã legal, mas ficamos mal acomodados.

Wonderful hostess, very clean big apartment situated higher in the mountains, we also toured their winery , good old wines. Close to the beautiful Douro river views.

Good accommodation option in a quiet town. The room was very comfortable for two, and came with a good breakfast. Wifi patchy but thats common all across the region.The owner is a wonderful and very warm man - he/the family runs a nearby winery (Quinta de Padrela) that we visited independently and by coincidence earlier that day. I cant recommend that tour or their wine enough.Service at the hotel itself was a bit patchy. On check-in we were told that wed be more comfortable in a different (lower rack rate) room, which required some time to set up. That room was fine (we were two brothers) and for all we know was in fact better suited than what we booked, but it wasnt really presented as an option. Also, the packaged welcome drinks never appeared - when we queried it we were told sometimes the guests have a glass of port, which is quite different to what was conveyed by the owner at the winery earlier, and in any event not offered. These things probably dont fundamentally change whether the place is a good option, and the manager might have just had an off day, but they did alter the overall impression of the stay.

Staff was very nice; room was clean; breakfast good (typical continental). Hotel is in center of town. Several restaurants near and many wineries in area.

Hotel fantastique.Tout est de très bon goût, excellente literie.Les proprietaires parlent français, sont adorableset vous donent d excellents conseils.la vallée pour accéder au village est splendide.Le village adorable.

De locatie zag er zeer verzorgd uit en was sfeervol ingericht. Het ontbijt was gewoon goed, maar niet bijzonder. Het bed was hard , je voelde de veren. De eigenares was zeer vriendelijk.

This should really be ten. My husband and I just came back from here,We loved it. The place is absolutely gorgeous. Monica is the best,she always made sure we had everything we needed,your a great host. We would recommend it to anybody who is in the area. In fact go to the North it's a great place,full of historical interest snd lovely people..We can't wait to come back and stay again..In fact I'm planning to come back with my sister soon. Missing you Monica.

Surpreendente. Hotel muito bonito, com atmosfera de paz. Quarto excelente, grande, cama super-macia, banheiro novo, limpíssimo. Amenidades disponiveis. Cafe da manha muito.bom. O que mais nos cativou foram os proprietarios. Gentis, atenciosos e muito competentes. Todo o staff está de parabéns. Nao deixem de fazer o tour pela Quinta do Padrela (imperdivel).

É um alojamento local muito bom, os quartos são ótimos e os empregados super simpáticos e o pequeno-almoço é muito bom tem muita variedade.

This place is situated about 20-25 mins drive from Pinhao, a major tourist hub for visiting the quintas in Douro Valley, through a narrow, serpentine road. The proprietor welcomed us with a great warm smile and some nice port wine, which set the tone for a nice stay ahead.

Really charming house with nice views and fully equipped room and bathroom. Everything is beautiful! Very friendly and nice people and a very good buffet breakfast. Very recommendable. If you come to Tabuaço stop at least one night at Casa Dos Ruis. We liked so much that we stayed one day more!
