I booked a double room today and the hostel staff let me know that they overbooked and sent me to a nearby hostel. I thought they would have arrange for a private room for me as I booked, which they ended up sent me to a dormitory for 8 with similar price.
If the hotel has doubled booked by mistake, they should arrange similar room in similar quality hotel/ hostel, not similar price. (Saving grace is that they were willing to pay for taxi fare to transit to the replacement hostel per my request. I feel like I shouldn’t have to ask in the first case with luggages in hand)

Good hostel at the top of a long slow climbing hill. Lovely rooms and beds. Nice breakfast area and simple breakfast. There is a takeaway near the entrance and a couple of bars for coffee and drinks nearby.

Foi uma experiência agradável no geral, funcionários simpáticos, troca de toalhas diária, pequeno almoço muito bom para o preço. Ao fim de semana , devido aos poucos lugares para sentar e a grande afluência de pessoas acabou por se tornar desconfortável pela falta de café quente, pão, utensílios. Contudo, foi uma estadia positiva e com boa relação qualidade/preço

Edifício antigo, com quartos frios ainda que renovados. As paredes são finas e torna-se difícil dormir com o barulho das pessoas a entrarem e sairem ao longo da noite e ainda o barulho da rua visto que ficamos junto à recepção. Quando pedido para trocar de quarto disseram que não tinham nenhum naquela noite e que depois podiam ver para as restantes, mas nunca o fizeram. A limpeza é definitivamente um ponto a favor. O pequeno-almoço também era um ponto a favor com algumas opções de escolha incluindo salsichas e ovos mechidos, perdeu o ponto quando da segunda manhã o pão de forma estava cheio de bolor.
Para um quarto duplo com casa de banho privada, o preço é extremamente alto em relação à qualidade!

Mucho ruido en el exterior por las noches y al no tener aire acondicionado tienes que Abrir las ventanas.
Desayuno correcto, atención correcta y limpieza de habitaciones bien.

Trop de bruits que ce soit à l'intérieur de l'hôtel ou à l'extérieur, notre chambre donnait sur la rue, nous ne pouvions pas laisser la fenêtre ouverte la nuit, pourtant en pleine période de canicule, pas de climatisation dans la chambre, il y a du bruit car l'hôtel est placé à côté d'un bar où beaucoup de monde font la fête et aussi beaucoup de circulation, de plus notre chambre pas très loin de l'accueil donc beaucoup de conversations, aussi les gens qui logent à l'hôtel n'ont aucun respect et font claquer la porte d'entrée sans arrêt que ce soit le jour ou en pleine nuit
Pour le petit déjeuner toujours pareil, pas varié

Hotel y servicio muy atento. La única pega es que no hay ascensor, es verdad que tan solo hay 3 pisos, pero si tienes que subir con la maleta cargada molesta un poquete.
Respecto al desayuno, está incluido, pero es sencillo, es un pequeño buffet con una variedad de panes, un poco de fiambre, mermeladas, algún yogur y leche, café...
Cuenta con el servicio de una cocina comunitaria en la cual te puedes cocinar y guardar alimentos en la nevera, además hay una pequeña terraza comunitaria muy acogedora.
Es un hotel muy tranquilo.
Respecto a la ubicación, está en la ciudad, a unos 10 minutos anadando, lo que pasa es que es una ciudad bastante elevada y hay numerosas cuestas, pero se llega fácilmente andando. Por último, hay bares y restaurantes al rededor del hotel, ya que está ubicado en un plaza.

It's a good place to sleep, but a few improvements would make it perfect. Our room had four beds, but only 3 plugs. Also, the individual lights are too bright (two of them make the same light as the main one). A part from that, the beds are comfortable, and the room was clean.
The bathroom is quite clean too, and the showers have soap (in case you forget yours). The breakfast is good and complete, and the hostel is placed near the center of the city and the touristic places. I'd get back, and I'll recommend it.

Péssimo fui a Coimbra e tinha lá 1 hotel a 7 euros mais caro mas decidi ir para este mais barato NÃO VALE A PENA a TV não tem boa qualidade péssima experiência se não tivesse tido este hotel em Coimbra a viagem teria sido perfeita o pequeno almoço não vale a pena o teto muito baixo e não tem segurança nenhuma 1 cartão dava para abrir todas as portas não aconselho...

我們兩人在冬天淡季住在一樓面對馬路的雙人房，這裏離景點非常近，走路逛老城區很方便。以價格來看住起來算合理、房間整理得還算可以、淋浴的熱水夠熱且水量大、可以跟櫃台借吹風機、早餐每人€5元很實惠。缺點是隔音不太好，睡覺時最好自己準備耳塞。

It includes breakfast just like in an hotel. It's really good. The only problems are the shared bathroom with the whole hostel and sometimes it gets cold at night. Maybe you can ask for a blanket at the reception?

Preço / qualidade Bom. Quartos limpos, Ambiente familiar. Tem kitchenet o que ajuda imenso principalmente quando se viaja com crianças. Ótimo para quem quer viver a experiência de ficar no coração de Coimbra. Realço a simpatia do jovem receptionista que nos recebeu.

Pésima atención, un engaño, reservé una habitación con baño y solo tienen una, la cual le dieron a otro huesped y la solución que me dieron fue cancelar mi reserva y recomendarme que me fuera para otro hostal. No lo recomiendo para nada!

Foi a minha primeira vez num hostel e foi muito boa. A localização é muito boa, os funcionários muito simpáticos e prestáveis. Fomos um grupo de 4 ciclistas e ficamos num quarto com 2 beliches, um pouco pequeno mas o suficiente e camas muito confortáveis. Tem um grande balneário limpo e asseado com todas as comodidas e privacidade. Apesar de estar numa zona com muita animação nocturna, depois das 24h o barulho ficou imperceptível. O pequeno-almoço foi servido antes da hora por nosso pedido e estava excelente, muita varidade, ao nível de muitos hotéis. Ainda disponibilizaram local para guardar as bicicletas.

Das Zimmer entspricht leider nicht den online gestellten Bildern. Es war sehr klein und man konnte kaum zwei Koffer öffnen. Dazu sind die Fenster nicht isoliert, sodass mit der Kneipe nebenan mitfeiern kann. Die Duschräume befinden sich im Keller und bedürfen einer Sanierung. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und das Personal hat sich gekümmert.

Foi a primeira vez que me hospedei num hostel e foi uma experiência positiva.
O meu quarto era uma suite com casa de banho privada e estava bem limpo.
Tive receio de dormir mal por causa do barulho, pois o hostel recuperou uma casa antiga e as portas ainda devem ser as originais mas durante a noite era bastante silencioso, todos os hóspedes tiveram o cuidado de não ser barulhentos para os visinhos.
De manhã acordei com um agradável cheiro a café do pequeno almoço, que também era bastante variado e composto por produtos frescos.
O hostel está localizado no centro de Coimbra, perto das Universidades e quase na baixa. É super central.
Aconselho este hostel.

O local é bom com ótimos quartos só que a casa de banho é preciso de restauro urgentemente .

Alojamiento muy cómodo y limpio, solo los baños y duchas tenían una limpieza deficiente por eso no pongo las 5 estrellas. Por calidad precio, pocas cosas encontrarás mejor que esta. La cama era lo mejor.

Contras: Freezer quebrado, quartos em sí muito pequenos. Um quarto de 4 camas com 3 pessoas nos quartos já fica extremamente desconfortável.

Zimmer grad so genug für 2 Leute mit Rucksäcken.
Sanitären anlagen sollten dringend mal überholt werden ...vorallem die duschen die nicht abgeschlossen werden können.
Frühstück war dahingegen sehr gut aber reißt die anderen beiden sachen nicht raus.

During Student Serenata period it's very noisy, impossible to sleep. Very small kitchen, becomes very crowded in the morning. We had a very small room. Dirty toilets and showers.

Was here with a group of teens, and it was a nice experience. I stayed in one of the suites, and it was pleasant. The common areas showed a bit of wear and tear, and breakfast was suitable, although a bit crowded. Served it's purpose and did not disappoint.

Boa localização e relativamente fácil estacionar na rua em frente. Ótimo atendimento e estrutura física do hostel, inclusive equipamentos pro café da manhã. Limpeza também não deixou a desejar. Foi uma boa experiência =)

Hôtel bien placé pour visiter Coimbra(12mn à pied du centre)mais les chambres ne sont absolument pas insonorisées et sont minuscules ( dans une chambre pour 3 nous ne pouvions pas poser nos bagages sans être gênés pour circuler ). Le petit déjeuner est moyen. La décoration dans la chambre est inexistante.

El hostel es muy lindo, prolijo y limpio.
La ubicación es buena aunque alejada de la terminal de tren del centro y en altura.
Los baños son amplios y numerosos aunque muy fríos, un día no hubo agua caliente hasta que avisamos...
El desayuno cumple, es variado.
A las habitaciones les falta un perchero y/o mesa de luz para tener dónde apoyar las cosas.

I think they treated me there way better than in a Hostel it is usual. I got a neat room with shower and toilet, I got fresh towel every day. Also the breakfast was really nice. Of course it wasn't as variable as in a hotel, but we got more type of jam, bread, fruit, milk and cereal and some type of canned fruit, yoghurt. They were really nice. Not everybody speaking english fluently, but that doesn't influance their will to help. I really enjoyed my time there and I happy that in the end I choose them.

Hostel was really nice. Bedrooms were nice and clean, breakfast was great and the bathrooms were in decent condition. With the start of the school year the square outside was noisy most of our stay which made sleeping difficult, but the hostel itself was great.

My private room was in the attic and it was lovely. The whole hostel was extremely clean, always had plenty of hot water, and the laundry service was very reasonably priced. The hostel is next to the Mermaid Park and there are lots of restaurants within steps. Santa Cruz is an easy walk and the University stairs, Botanical Garden, and aqueduct are very close as well.Be prepared for lots of cobblestones, steps, and lots of up and lots of down in this adorable town. Really, the only things I would change is wifi in the room (was available in common room and on terrace) and more items at breakfast(for example, unflavored yogurt). I forgot to mention, when I checked in I was given a map and a thorough orientation to the city, which included marking where things were and suggested routes. It was much appreciated. I used that map all six days I was there.

Nice hotel in good location with a decent breakfast. Only downside was we had a room ato the front of the hotel which was quite noisy on a fri/sat night from people sat outside the restaurants below.

Fizemos uma reserva no quarto errado via booking, pedimos pra cancelar imediatamente e não aceitaram cancelar grátis mesmo explicando toda a situação. Eles não são nada flexíveis e pelo visto não se importam em conquistar o cliente.

The rooms (at least double bedroom) are awesome, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is OK. The bathrooms are the main issue - they are not very clean, some locks and some shower head holders are broken, and they are underground which means they are constantly filled with moisture.

La pulizia dei locali è ottima ed anche la professionalità e la cortesia del personale. Pecca principale: la vita notturna (che prosegue fino alle 4 di mattina) non ti permette di dormire... Se si vuole stare fuori fino a tardi è ottimo perché in una buona location, ma se si ha bit di quiete non è il posto adatto

Da buon squattrinato sono andato in questo ostello con la formula B&B e devo dire che è stato meglio di quanto mi aspettassi.
La colazione è abbondante ed è presente un po di tutto, le camere pulite e con armadietto personale (che in realtà sono cassettoni enormi sotto il letto a castello, portarsi un lucchetto perché l'ostello non lo fornisce).
I bagni in comune sono sempre molto puliti.
Punto forte dell'ostello secondo me è la location che si trova su una piazza principale di Coimbra (anche se alla sera ci sono parecchi ragazzi che passano la serata in piazza non si sente la confusione).
La pecca principale è che nella camera il riscaldamento che non è presente, ma ti forniscono un termo elettrico (che sparato al massimo non scalda un niente quindi il problema continua a sussistere)

The hostel is very nice and the staff very helpful. The continental breakfast is good for being a hostel and the style and decoration is updated. The only downside is to have the bathrooms two floors down. Beside that issue I would highly recommend this hostel.

O atendimento é muito bom, você se sente em casa, a localização é fenomenal de frente à Praça da República. Foi um prazer passar os dias aqui e quanto a comida muito boa, além de oferecer cozinha para os hóspedes fazerem suas comidas. O ponto ruim é só o espaço que é um pouco pequeno mas é um ótimo hotel.

The coolest hostel in Coimbra. Great staff amazing location wonderful decoration. All of that at a very affordable price. Did I mentioned the breakfast is included? What a found! You get to stay in a renovated e 3 stores old building with a fresh white clean look.

It is a hostel which is being refurbished.
The beds and bathroom were refurbished, the floors not yet.
They location couldn't be more central, though it comes with the noises of people staying out in the streets/pubs.
If you fancy going out until late, it is a perfect location. If you are looking for something quiet definitely don't stay here.

Nous avons dormi dans une petite chambre en face de la réception...nous avons eu le bruit des passages et des discussions des personnes jusque tard dans la nuit. Le plancher craque terriblement et les escaliers aussi. Je pense que les autres chambres sont plus agréables.

Por overbooking nos dieron una habitación inferior y sin baño y solo nos rebajaron 6 euros el precio, sin aire acondicionado, al tener la ventana abierta entraba muchísimo ruido de la calle porque es zona de marcha. Tuvimos un pequeño desencuentro con las hormigas en la habitación, mataría unas 30-40. No lo recomiendo salvo por el precio.

The room was exactly 50cm from the reception where music was playing the whole night and students were gathering and chatting loudly. It did get more quiet after my request to turn it down a bit. It would be ok for students or people who are the type to live in a community and leave there doors wide open all the time.

Had a double room with private shower and toilet. Hotel is in a great location near the University and not far from the city centre. Has kitchen facilities, a lounge and outdoor space with tables, chairs, sunshades - all very nice and clean and looked after. I would definitely go again!

Excellent, exactly what I wanted! It is newly refurbished and is spotless. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The hostel and rooms are bright white. Plenty of toilet and shower facilities (I traveled low season but there is enough for high season). In total, very impressive.

We spend two nights in this well located guesthouse. A lot of attractions of Coimbra can be reached by foot, icluding restaurants, etc..
The rooms are charming and we had a nice view, including a small balcony.
This place is very heartly run by young students, that are willing to give you plenty of information of all sorts. Some of them do it in a very friendly way. The interior is brand new and I hope that it will last like this as long as possible.
The breakfast is more or less basic but for the price a very good value.
Be prepared to listen to some traffic noise during your stay.

cet hôtel est NUL ! pour tout mobilier :1 lit, 1 chaise, 1 tabouret, 1 placard. la valise ne passait pas entre le lit et la cloison !pas de salle deau, pas de W.C., pas de tél, pas de T.V. , pas 1 seul miroir, pas de table de nuit.W.C. létage en-dessous, et pire lavabos et douches au sous-sol (comme en colonie)quant au petit déjeuner : en tout 2 tables, et avant de partir : il faut faire sa vaisselle !Je navais jamais vu ça !!!!!!

Perfect hostel! Everything is super new, clean and stylish. The breakfast is above average. I totally recommend this place.
