It is always a worry when you book a hire bike for training over a number of days. Rui could not have been more helpful to me. He arrived on time and popped on my powermeter crank, explained how to remove the wheels using the QR skewer system. The Focus Izalco was in perfect nick and really well maintained. I was also provided with a track pump for the 4 day hire. Thanks so much. You guys provide an excellent service.

This is the place to go if you want to hire a bike! Price/value very good. The owner is very friendly and told me about the best routes to ride in the Algarve (and they were indeed beautiful). I hired a carbon race bike for six days and had no problems with it. It came with an pump, multitool and inner tube included. Unfortunately, they can’t control the weather .

O José e o Rui são atenciosos e percebem de tudo o que envolve o material ligado ao ciclismo de estrada, BTT, downhill (onde são mesmo muito bons). Recomendo vivamente!

If you have any mountain-biking requirements during your stay in the area, call in to see these guys. Their customer service, attitude and passion for bikes is superb! Rui and Jose proved to be excellent guides around the local trails and when I return to Sao Bras, I will book my trip through Avalanche. Highly recommended!

Second time I've hired bikes from Rui. Hired both road bike and mountain bikes this time. Excellent service as usual. Deliver to my door which is at villa in Quinta do Lago. Couldn't be more helpful. Bikes were in excellent condition. Came with saddle bags filled with spare tubes, levers and pump. Tried other people on the Algarve, these are the best. Bill F.

Good bikes, friendly staff, great experience! Hired two road bikes for a week and they were great. Delivered to and collected from our villa. Track pump also provided which was useful. The riding is fantastic in the Algarve and the route recommendations were helpful. Will definitely hire from Avalanche again when I'm back in the area.

Had four days of excellent guiding with Rui and Jose who runs the shop. The area around Alportel is rather unique area for riding with steep and technical, yet super tacky trails and in extremely lush and green suroundings. An area we'd very surely revisit again to enjoy the riding, company, nature and cultural sights. My warmest recommendations.

I spent 3 days riding in Sao Bras de Alportel area and relied on their services on best places to ride and to rent bikes. They know the area as their own hands. They have been riding for more of 20 years on all the trails and know the best routes. They have several kind of bikes to rent, full suspensions and hardtails. The workshop is fully supplied with all the necessary stuff and components. Rui and Jose where our guides during those days, amazing riding and skills. English is not a problem for them. I totally recommend their service in order to get the most of your days in the region. I will certainly repeat.
