I highly recommend to stay at Monte da Casteleja! The apartments were sparkling clean, comfortable and with a super nice vibe. The breakfast was just perfect and the staff were super friendly! I also recommend you take the wine tout and tasting to learn more about the biodynamic wine these guys are producing there! Without any doubts... the highlight of my vacation!

Had a very enjoyable stay with Guillaume and Ines for four days this April. I believe we were the first customers of the year. We enjoyed the Suite for four nights, and had both a breakfast and wine tasting while we stayed there. The breakfast was a delight the first morning, as we had traveled quite a bit the day before. With the suite we were able to bring in food, and make our own meals for the rest of trip after a little shopping. The accommodations were excellent. The wine tasting was with a large group on Wednesday but was very interesting. Guillaume gave us a tour of the farm, and we had the wine tasting in the area where the wine is made! His choice of cheese and wine was excellent. The farm is all organic and is quite amazing, but after a long hard day of hiking and travel around the Algrave it is delightful to come back to the quite farm and enjoy a glass of wine on your own patio overlooking the fields. We often took a walk around the farm in the evening and it was a very peaceful area with interesting fields nearby. It was truly a highlight of our trip, and we will definitely go back the next time we visit the Algrave area of Portugal. It is so nice to be out of the hectic city and relax.

Really great experience touring this family run organic vineyard! The winemaker, Guillaume, was friendly, informative and obviously passionate about what he does. Tasted 3 wines, all were great, along with some small nibbles - just perfect! Ideal way to spend a couple hours.

I'm no better than an amateur wine lover but I did enjoy the tour and tasting at Monte da Castelja. Guilamme the owner is very welcoming and the setting is very relaxing! 5*

Lovely family winery with 3 rooms for guests. Very friendly and helpful family hosting their guests. We slept round the clock because there were absolutely no noise and it was dark from 7 P.M. 3 dogs, duck, chicken and the donkeys at the neighbouring farm makes the stay interesting also for kids. Bought some wine to take back home.

Most wonderful place for having a quiet and welcoming stay at Lagos. You feel like home and the Ines is very welcoming and helping with tips. It is all very clean and the breakfast is all you need in the morning. Also they have some delicious wines. We would come back every time.

Very informative tour. An owner was telling eg -the history of his vineyards, -factors that affect grapes growing well, -his view on vine making, -what makes these vines organic and future plans for expanding the place.

They didn't show up for our scheduled tour, we were locked out of the gate and wasted 30 minutes and 20 euros to stand in the dirt.

Our stay at Monte da Casteleja was just wonderful! It is a very calm and cosy place and the breakfast was delicious! The location is also great, only a ten minute drive to Lagos which is a very lively city. We can also highly recommend the wine tour to find out more about organic vineyard and to taste exquisite wine and tapas. Thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable!

Wir waren 5 Nächte in der Unterkunft. Unser Fazit: + Lage perfekt.

Colazione molto buona e camera ampia e spaziosa. Ci siamo fermati tre notti e ci siamo trovati molto bene!

A beautiful, quiet and authentic place where you can relax and enjoy the closeness of the real vineyard - at slow pace, relaxed, admiring the nature and vegetation around. The breakfast is served outside, in the company of 3 friendly dogs that makes the morning very enjoyable! It's possible also to join a winery tour and wine tasting of locally produced wines – to know better the history of the farm and especially the winegrower’s approach to the production of organic wines. Hosts are very friendly and helpful - gave us a very useful tips about the places worth visiting in the area and there are many of them!

Great Wine Tour and Place to stay! Guillaume gave us a lovely walking tour of the winery taking time to explain each step in the wine-making process, including the vines, grapes, harvesting, aging and bottling. It was a great lesson in producing organic wine for the whole family that finished with a generous tasting experience featuring two red and a white wine paired with fresh bread and crostini, soft goat's milk cheese and local artisan honey that WOW-ed us all. If only every winery experience could be this fabulous

Had a tour there at the small farm where we were shown around the vineyards, cellar and the fermentation room. There were no grapes yet as it is still early in the season (early June) but the hospitality we received was well worth it. It is an organic production and somewhat young (est. 2000), but the 4 wines produced are of great quality, rich flavours and strong taste! You will have to prebook the tour as they do them only on certain days. Recommended for every wine lover :-)
