Melissa M: If you are wishing to teach English abroad, I would not recommend using this agency. I was teaching in Spain from October 2019 to May 2020 and was contracted through the ErasmusInSchool platform. At the beginning of the year I had to give a €400 deposit that I would get back when I completed the school year. As you all know, the coronavirus struck in March and schools were closed and have still not been re-opened. I wanted to go home but naturally I was worried about the deposit so I awaited instructions from either ErasmusInSchool (who never contacted me at all during the pandemic! My housemates who were contracted by the British council were contacted immediately and told to go home) or my school. My school started advising me to go home so I asked about the deposit and was told that they would speak to ErasmusInSchool about it. Then we found out that I would not be able to get the deposit back unless I stayed contracted until the end of May as originally planned. Personally, I found this absolutely disgusting and shameful. We were in a PANDEMIC, my school were giving me their blessing to go, they no longer were able to pay me my full wages, yet ErasmusInSchool didn’t want to give me MY deposit? I fulfilled all of my duties with the school, I didn’t do anything wrong. The school no longer had the money to pay me my full wages anymore so they were halved. I was living on €250 a month. My rent was €135 a month (not including bills). ErasmusInSchool put me in a horrible position financially and mentally. They should have had the decency to just give me MY money back in considering the extraordinary circumstances. So through this review I would simply like to warn potential language assistants about the establishment. In my opinion, ErasmusInSchool looks out for the interest of the schools, not the language assistants. The fact that I had to give a “deposit” at the beginning should have been a warning sign. In what other job is that normal? With that being said, I would like to mention that my school is not to blame here at all. They were very helpful and supportive. I feel so let down by this agency. Being stuck in a foreign country with such little money, unable to get back to my home country was the worst and most difficult time of my life. I view the fact that they couldn’t give me my money back before the end of May (and didn’t contact me at all during the whole pandemic) utterly shambolic. I am writing this because I really don’t want this to happen anyone else. Be very wary of looking for work abroad through this agency. I wouldn’t not recommend them at all. 0/5.

Nunca mais vou dar mais um cêntimo do meu dinheiro para casa. Não tenho ajuda depois de 45 minutos na loja e a pedir a 4 pessoas. Fui online e pedi as coisas que precisava. Recebi uma mensagem de texto e um e-mail no dia seguinte, um item estava pronto para ser levantado e tinha 30 dias para recebê-lo. Voltei a entrar na área na tarde seguinte. Nessa mesma noite recebi uma mensagem de texto e um e-mail, o meu pedido foi cancelado porque eles venderam o que eu tinha pedido e pagaram por isso estava à minha espera. Planeei ir buscá-lo na manhã seguinte. Ainda bem que não conduzi 2 horas até à loja para a ir buscar. O serviço ao cliente e o período de serviço deles é uma porcaria. Definitivamente não vale a pena o tempo para lidar com isso.

Um serviço ao cliente muito pobre. Eu entrei como novo cliente para abrir uma conta. Não havia mais ninguém no banco quando eu fui, nem um único cliente, eram talvez duas da tarde, e mesmo assim a mulher que me "ajudou" me disse rudemente que eu não podia abrir uma conta, eu teria que marcar uma consulta para voltar no dia seguinte. Eu tinha todos os meus documentos comigo, não fazia sentido nenhum, quem precisa de uma consulta para abrir uma conta corrente pessoal? Eu só disse educadamente que o faria online, ao que ela (novamente rudemente) respondeu: "Você não pode fazer online, você não é um cidadão australiano, você precisa marcar uma consulta para voltar". Então eu marquei uma consulta, fui para casa, fui online, e me inscrevi na Westpac em vez disso. Entre sua maneira rude e o inconveniente de não poder abrir uma conta no mesmo dia em uma filial vazia (ou online, supostamente), a NAB perdeu meu negócio.
