Beautiful tranquil surroundings. Short walk to a small local village. Wonderful apartments. Friendly atmosphere x Gary is everything you could hope for in a host. Will definitely be back.

Just 10 mins from the Spanish border this wonderful camping oasis provides a fantastic welcome in a tranquil and peaceful setting. Gary is the most fabulous congenial British host and Joal provides a true Portuguese welcome. Spotless toilet and shower facilities. A lovely small swimming pool allows you to cool off ( peak time) after testing out the various circular walks that surround the site. Time stands still whilst you are here and we have always stayed longer than we intended. The site offers spaces for motorhomes, caravans and tents and there are sumptuous B and B accommodations too. Every pitch has its own olive tree. Ring ahead to make sure there is a space to meet your needs.

We stayed at camping asseiceira for a week at the be of May. We had an absolutely amazing time. It is a very small and pretty and well run site. Gary the owner is incredibly helpful and full of interesting local knowledge and suggestions for walks, bike rides and trips. We were there with two small children and it was perfect as it felt so calm and safe. The showers and washing facilities were impeccable. The local area is really delightful and we had some lovely walks, cycle rides and swims (in a river and in a reservoir, both Gary's excellent suggestions). It is a quick drive to Marvao which is a really lovely hilltop town. While we were there the wildflowers were stunning. We absolutely intend to return to this gem of a campsite!

Friendly small campsite with new clean toilet block. Small pool but unfortunately not open yet mid may despite temperatures in the 30 s. Quite expensive at 22 euros for caravan 2 people and electricity. Lovely surroundings

This is a perfect campsite. It's small and we'll set out with very good, clean facilities. There's shade under the little olive trees. It's within walking distance of shops and a bar. It's got lovely views of the very picturesque town of Marvão on the hill. The owner is really helpful and obviously knows and loves the area so he gives great tips for walking etc. My advice is to call or email in advance to secure a place. A few people were turned away when we were there at the start of May as it was full. Not good for massive motorhomes.

Parque familiar, muito sossegado e tranquilo, situado numa excelente local para visitar esta zona do Alentejo, onde é possível acordar com o chilrear dos pássaros e com os rebanhos de ovelhas. Instalações sanitárias modernas e sempre muito limpas. De manhã, possibilidade de comprar pão alentejano mesmo à porta. A repetir.

A small, cozy and beautiful camping inserted in the middle of the Alentejo landscape, near the fantastic village of Marvão. Great facilities and the owner is an Englishman who overflows with friendliness !!! We love it! We recommend! And it will be to repeat !

A beautifully situated campsite with lots of walks around in very quiet rural surroundings. A map is available from reception showing several walks of various lengths. There is a mini-market in the village for smaller things or there is a decent sized supermarket (Pingo Doce) in Castelo de Vide about 20 minutes away by car. Site is small but very pleasant and the sanitary block is clean and very adequate. Gary, the owner, was very helpful. I had a small accident whilst leaving the campsite and damaged my caravan but Gary went out of his way to help me and was able to connect me with a local mechanic who fixed the damage well enough for me to continue on my way.
The site is also near to the fantastic hilltop fortress town of Marvao and a visit to the now no longer used Beira railway station with its hand painted wall tiles is a must.

El camping es un pequeño olivar, el dueño a las 7 nos dijo que en todo el día se puede poner música bajita, debido a que el camping es enano. La señora de al lado nos dijo que nuestros hijos de 3 años no pisarán su parcela... pusimos una cuerda para delimitar y así evitar que los pies de nuestros enanos pisaran la tierra se su parcela. De momento estamos en silencio y mañana hablaremos con el dueño para ver si hay algún problema con los politono del móvil cuando suenen.
Respondiendo a su respuesta decirle que había en el camping 5 familias y simplemente una nos dijo que mi hija de 1 año no pasará por su parcela, así que la acote con una cuerda para que no pudiera salir. Los vecinos no se quejaron absolutamente de la música, que además la teníamos puesta en el móvil, así que dígame usted el gran volumen que se puede poner... por otra parte en ningún momento mi hija de un año se acercó a darle cabezazos a nunguna caravana, quizás debería haber corroborado todas las versiones, eso es un propietario eficiente y no dar por echo algo que no sucedió. Me imagino que usted hizo caso debido a que son de su país y así damos todo por echo.
Zanjado el tema un sitio para no volver.

Muito caro em relação preço qualidade. Muito escuro andava toda a gente de lanterna de mineiro. Não tem Multibanco . Se fosse de um português não o deixavam abrir sequer.

An excellent place to spend a few days in nature (a few weeks with your caravan), a few minutes walk to the nearest town. Rooms are equipped with all necessary there is a private patio. In the room and in general in the territory is maintained an ideal order!
I recommend bringing some food, and having fun in the camping! Thank to the owner of the camping - Gary for help and for advices. Would like to return next year and share this place with friends.

4 nuits dans ce camping le temps de faire de belles balades à vélo aux alentours. Accueil très sympa camping super bien tenu et très propre.l'eau de la piscine un peu trop froide pour moi .

Parque de campismo excelente. Fomos extremamente bem recebidos, colocaram-nos numa parcela ampla e com sombra, as casa de banho sempre muito limpas. Tem piscina de água salgada muito boa para refrescar quando o calor aperta.
Ambiente tranquilo e muito acolhedor. Iremos voltar com certeza!

Trato genial. Buenas parcelas. Wc nuevos y limpios. Algunas parcelas con toldo. Piscina pequeña pero muy cuidada. No hay bar. No hay supermercado. Wifi gratis en la zona de la piscina. Pueblo a 10 minutos caminando. Buenas rutas senderismo alrededor. Camping pequeño, acogedor y muy tranquilo. Buenas tarifas. Volveremos.

Le propriétaire, Gary originaire de Manchester , nous a réserve un super accueil dans son petit camping aux emplacements bien délimités , et certains emplacements ont une toile d'ombrage pour y installer la tente dessous. Les sanitaires sont très propres et y a une piscine agréable. Le camping est situé dans un village avec une petite epicerie, boulangerie, poste, ATM et un restaurant avec de bonnes spécialités. Il y de belles randonnées à faire dans les environs.

Espaço muito tranquilo e pacífico. Zonas comuns limpas e cuidadas. O parque na tem muitos lugares, o que o torna mais acolhedor e familiar, tipo camping gourmet. O dono é extremamente simpático e prestável, a great lad! Recomendo para quem quer um esforço calmo, com boas instalações, perto de percursos pedestres e vários locais de interesse.

Wow, vilket enormt trevligt bemötande av ägaren Gary. Vi fick mycket information om området som vackra promenader, sevärdheter och matställen i byn. Till råga på allt är faciliteterna kliniskt rena och själva campingen är lugn, tyst och mysig med mycket växtlighet. Vi kanske aldrig åket härifrån...

Hace ocho años vinimos y ahora hemos vuelto con nuestras hijas pequeñas. La limpieza es insuperable. No le falta detalle: fairy, desengrasante, estropajo, fregona, regaderas, mangueras, cable de conexión a la luz, jabón, toalla para secar las manos, tendedero con pinzas de la ropa(por si se te hubiese olvidado algo) a parte de wifi, luz, agua Es muy muy tranquilo, tiene piscina. El encargado es muy agradable. Nosotros volveremos y lo recomendamos!

Simply an amazing camp site. Gary is a fantastic host, was beyond friendly, and his entire campsite is very neat, tidy, and peacefully quiet. The bathrooms/showers were so clean they sparkled. Easy walk to the village for groceries. Bread delivery in the mornings. Numerous hikes through the country or up to the castle. This will be a place we miss.

Local ideal para descansar, inserido no meio rural, em pleno Parque Natural da Serra de São de Mamede. Ideal para quem gosta de fazer caminhadas. A 10 minutos a pé, estamos no centro de uma típica aldeia Alentejana, Santo Antonio das Areias. Onde temos multibanco, farmácia, pequenos supermercados e cafés.
Ideal para quem quer descansar e viver um Alentejo puro.

Adorable petit camping dans un cadre superbe ou il ne manque rien : douche bien chaude , beaux sanitaires propres , papier wc , lave mains , éponges , essuie-mains, séchoirs à linge etc ...Super camping ! merci au propriétaire pour son accueil chaleureux et qui se met en 4 pour vous . This is a little gem of a campsite in quiet surroundings. We received a very warm welcome. Everything is set out just the way you’d like it to be.
Nicely attended showers, beautiful swimming pool, facilities to wash and dry your clothes.
Marvâo castle is an impressive fortification with wonderful views. It’s not in easy walking distance, so bring your hiking boots or go by car.
We brought food and drink, so didn’t explore nearest supermarket or restaurant.
Spaces for camper vans and tents available.
Loved it.

A big thank you to Gary & Chris who run Camping Asseiceira!
They were extremely patient and helpful when i kept changing my holiday dates and then arrived on the wrong one and then stayed longer than i said!
The site is well organised, clean tidy etc as you would expect and sits comfortably amongst the olive and figs trees and cork oaks that abound in the high Alentejo.
Having lived locally for 12 years they have much know how and can offer many recommendations of where, how, what if you but enquire.
The site is placed in such a calm, scenic backdrop, it's a quietly magical landscape ideal for wild swimming, hiking, canoeing and cycling.
With two magical castellated towns nearby, Marvao and Castelo de Vide are a delight.
It is highly recommended.

Absolut spitze.
Waren mit dem Wohnwagen da und bekamen einen riesigen Stellplatz obwohl wir nur für drei Übernachtungen gebucht hatten. Campingplatzbetreiberr bzw Inhaber sind unheimlich nett und hilfsbereit.
Der Platz ist klein, sehr gemütlich und unwahrscheinlich sauber. Liegt in einer sehr schönen Gegend und ist extrem ruhig.

We stayed in the Cottage, it was perfect. Gary was a wonderful host, so willing to help and so informative without being overbearing. Pool was lovely and facilities were all very clean. And to top it off it is set in a stunning location. Thanks again!

O parque está inserido numa zona rural muito agradável e próximo de uma pequena vila. O espaço destinado a cada campista é amplo e o ambiente é bastante acolhedor e familiar. É notório o cuidado com a limpeza dos espaços comuns, sendo sugerido que todos participem. Os balneários são excelentes. O proprietário é solícito, simpático e disponível. Recomendamos e voltaremos.

No llegamos a hospedarnos. Llamamos por teléfono, y nos advirtieron que teníamos hasta las 21:00. Corrimos para llegar, pero sorpresa, a las 20:55, ya no había nadie en la recepción, llamamos, esperamos e incluso algún huésped nos indicó que seguro regresaban.
Nada, a los 25’ decidimos cambiar de camping.
Satisfechos por el cambio, desde fuera advertíamos mucho ruido, espacio pequeño. No dudo de la limpieza y tranquilidad. No obstante. Dormimos mejor en otro lado.

Un lugar realmente agradable en todos los sentidos. La habitación perfectamente preparada para pasar unos dias fantásticos. Con rutas entre 4 y 10 km entre alcornoques y robles. Muy recomendable.

O acampamento é muito bonito, o único barulho que ouvíamos era o das ovelhas, as casas de banho estavam sempre limpas e os donos foram muito hospitaleiros. Ideal para umas férias em sossego! Espero voltar.

Absolutely great little campsite was even able to accommodate our Winnebago and tailor the English host Gary went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay showers and toilets impeccably clean lovely walks great little village in walking distance daily visit from a bakers van with fresh bread and cakes well worth a visit

Great little campsite. Fantastic facilities (toilets showers and washup room) that are well kept. Very friendly and helpful host, on his recommendation we walked up to the Marvao Castle which is a gorgeous walk that is around 5km that took us about 1hr 15min. Highly recommend walking into the town and sampling the locally brewed Barona beer!

A great quiet campsite! The owner is very helpful, clean facilities and hot showers. There is no pool / restaurant etc but if you're not looking for that it's the perfect place to stay. Make sure you do the walk up to Marvao Castle and try some of the beers of the brewery nearby!

This is not just an excellently run campsite in a beautiful remote area of Portugal ; it is a social experience where one makes friends from all over Europe, most of whom return time and again. If you are a camper, or just like to stay in the well equipped bungalows and enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere you will be equally delighted. The owner , Gary , is a treasure who works constantly to introduce his clients to his part of holiday heaven ! A place to put on your list to return to each year.

Hot showers; warm water for washing up; excellent internet; swimming pool. Maps with great walks provided. The camp site is clean and provides shade. The country site is very attractive. Not even a quarter of an hour from Marvao. I was made very welcome and was provided with all the help and information I required. Very highly recommended.

Gostei muito do parque de campismo. Fomos muito bem recebidos. É um parque muito acolhedor, familiar e sossegado. Secalhar pelo seu pequeno tamanho seja mais fácil estar à vontade com quem o frequenta. A casa de banho é muito asseada. A piscina é agradável. Encontra-se muito perto da aldeia Santo Antonio das Areias e razoavelmente perto de Castelo de Vide e Portalegre. Um ótimo sítio para explorar o Marvão! Recomendo a toda a gente.

The best campsite we have been to so far! We are now more than three months on the road, travelling the Iberian Peninsula and have seen dozens of great campsites, but this one is really outstanding. The owners and their staff are lovely people and the atmosphere on this privately owned camping is awesome. If you want to discover the Serra de Sao Mamede with its beautiful Alentejan landscape, Roman and Medival sites and Towns, river baths and lakes, then stay at this wonderful place with its shady spots underneath fruit and olive trees and an incredible nightsky full of stars. We certainly will come back :-)

Óptima hospitalidade. O ambiente é bastante familiar e reservado e estamos, basicamente, no meio da natureza. As condições do parque, casas de banho e piscina eram impecáveis. Contudo, o que me deixou rendido foi o céu estrelado, uma vez que não há poluição visual por perto. De salientar a amabilidade do host, que fez questão de me mostrar todos os percursos rurais, mapas da vila, dar sugestões de visita, para não falar de me ter emprestado uma cadeira de caçador (que ele guardava para viajantes de mota, dado o espaço limitado para bagagem) durante a minha estadia. A zona é também bastante bonita, misturando um terreno ligeiramente montanhoso, mas com um tempero de campos dourados do sul por toda a parte; é um equilíbrio curioso entre a paisagem norte e a paisagem sul de Portugal. Recomendo vivamente a todos os que gostam de acampar num meio mais descentralizado e desfrutar da natureza.

This was the best campground we've stayed at in Portugal. The host was a delight, and he'd really thought things out from the immaculately clean washrooms and showers to the lovely pool, shaded in the late afternoon from the scorching sun. We pitched our tent in a very peaceful and private corner of the olive orchard, where our two dogs could roam free as long as they stayed in our space. As we sipped wine, we could look up at the castle and walked city of Marvão while listening to the tinkling bells of the goats returning from pasture. Wow!

Apesar do 3, fiquei satisfeito. Foi um bocado caro, mas, ainda assim, dos mais baratos na zona (pelo que pesquisei). Fomos bastante bem recebidos, pelo Garrett, e ele até nos fez um desconto numa das tendas. A piscina não era lá muito grande. A casa de banho estava bastante limpa. O parque é pequena e tem pouca gente, o que permite um maior à vontade. Silencioso e amigável. Se voltasse à zona, voltaria a escolher este mesmo parque.

I've been camping in Portugal (from North to South and east to West) for five weeks past May and this was the cleanest and nicest camping on the whole trip, the hospitable welcome and general feel was just overwhelming, it felt almost like coming home!

Fantastic campsite with a super friendly and helpful owner.
It's a small and cosy site with clean facilities and fast free WIFI.
The whole area is just super beautiful. From the campsite you can hike up to a stunning castle. One of our favourite sites in Spain and Portugal.

We have stayed here every summer for the past 6yrs. The campsite is beautiful ly maintained, fresh bread delivered and the local village provides all your basic needs. The location provides an excellent access the Marvao village and castle the medival cobbled tracks are perfect for walks Mt biking and horse riding. Nr by is river swimming, cave painting, Roman ruins, Antes and restaurant. The campsite owner is very welcoming and extremely helpful man.
