best restaurant in town by a mile. Hugo and marina have excellent knowledge of food and the correct wine to go with your dish. excellent hosts. food is fantastic. highly recommend it. great value. you will not leave disappointed. that's unless you forget to prebook looking forward to returning!

En utmärkt tapasrestaurang med ett trevligt urval av rätter och väldigt goda viner därtill som värdparet gärna hjälper till med att se ut. Desserten blev en cheesecake som serverades med ett glas mandellikör. Inte riktigt i vår smak. Mandellikören var ingen höjdare och cheesecaken var sådär. Allt annat var dock toppen.

Good little restaurant in heart of carvoeiro. A slight premium but you are getting high end food. Staff are very helpful with menu and choices. They helped pair wines for us and everyone had a great meal. Advise that you book ahead as it can be busy. Recommended.

Simply put, if you're in Carvoeiro and you don't visit Le Cro, you're missing something very very good! The food is amazing, the owners are lovely and charming and we had a wonderful time! Don't leave without a desert ;) Thank you for a perfect dinner and great evening...

Easily the best restaurant in Carvoeiro. From the minute you walk in you'll be met with the big smiles of Hugo and Marina - and then given the best food of your stay. Vegetarian, fish, gluten free and meat - everything is covered, and the wines fantastic. As weird as this sounds I recommend you don't bother with the menu, and just ask them to pick for you. Booking a table highly encouraged.

Really enjoyed our visit. Fantastic food (had to order extra mushrooms with truffle as they were so good!), lovely wine and a relaxed atmosphere. The hosts were amazingly friendly. It's not often we've had food so different from the mainstream Portuguese food when visiting Portugal, so this is a little gem of a place.

This is probably the best restaurant in town. Why I’m saying this. First you feel incredible welcomed from both owners. They open their place with a big and great smile to you. Second the food is top notch. You‘ll receive a unique and outstanding offer of various tapas dishes which they have created themselves. The great selection will be accompanied by a great Portuguese vine selection which is matched to your food order incl. a little information from the vine background. You can tell both owners do this with an incredible love to details. Highly recommend this place but also to book in advance.

When you get tired of the local offerings and feel like something a bit more original, then come to this place. Lovely owners and delicious tapas paired with local wines. Stuffed mushrooms and salmon ceviche were my favourites.

Exquisite food, a very relaxed atmosphere and very knowledgeable and friendly owners with an obvious passion for great food. They made us feel welcome from the very start, especially our 2.5 year old son who tried all the dishes. Plenty of great vegetarian options as well. Wonderful wines from all the regions of Portugal. Marina and Hugo absolutely dazzled us with so many amazing dishes from their kitchen. One of the best expereinces we have had in Portugal. Everything from tapas, to wines, to desserts were outstanding. Friendly, small family owned, all local and fresh dishes. You cannot go wrong. Especially liked the stuffed mushrooms, pumpkin soup, Montes Ermos Douro Reserva Branco, and the cheescake with lemon curd.

Phenomenal. This is the best restaurant in Carvoeiro. The dishes are very creative yet simple and honest. They give a Portuguese take on some international staples. Let Hugo select the wines for you... He knows best. You must eat at Le Cro if you come to Carvoeiro!

The menu is well put together, the food is amazing, the wine suggestions are very good and the owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. If you are in carvoeiro and you enjoy good food, this place is an absolute must visit.

Amazing tapas food, nothing like it and the accompanying wines selected for us were equally delicious. Never been to a tapas restaurant quite like it. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Will be back for sure.

Ce restaurant a un vrai potentiel. Quelques tapas étaient très bons, mais globalement je suis sorti avec la sensation de payer trop cher pour pas beaucoup de chose (les tapas en général c'est comme ça).
Le service était très aimable mais avec beaucoup d'attente pour l'arrivée des tapas.
On renforce les autres avis de qu'il y a un gros point d'amélioration par rapport aux pain utilisés des bruschettas.

It’s different. And excellent because of this. Marina and Hugo are hard working restaurant professionals with an amazing imagination for creating very tasty plates indeed. It’s not for everyone so if your looking for steak and chips or sea bass and potatoes I suggest you look elsewhere. For me, The ceviche is delicious and chicken meatballs light and zingy. Every plate is a delight. Highly recommended.

Best food in Cavoeiro. Staff are so knowledgeable and will recommend what wine to have with each course that you have. Menu is quite small but everything on it is excellent! Don't be put off by this. Food is excellent. We had truffled mushrooms and salmon civiche to start...both amazing. Followed by Portuguese cheese and meats. You won't be disappointed.
We have had some great food in Portugal but this is the best! We were lucky and managed to get a walk in table on a Sunday night. Probably worth booking to guarantee a table here...you won't be disappointed.

This place is wonderful - we went twice during ou 3-day stay in Carvoiero. The couple that runs it are so friendly and truly care about the food they’re serving. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food is delicious! If I were in Carvoiero for another day I would go back again.

Echt the best tapas ever!!!! Super aardige en correcte bediening en alles is overheerlijk. De zalm en heek cerviche waren SUPER! Wij zijn er deze vakantie 2x geweest en beide keren top!!! Zelfs toen ons zoontje een vol glas rosé omgooide: super relaxt en correct en niet op rekening gezet. Kortom; naartoe gaan maar wel reserveren!

Tried to book for 8pm told to arrive at 9pm.
Really do not know how this place got such a good rating. Over-rated and over priced food that arrived either cold or luke warm.
Paid €35 and then went for food!
Staff took it personally when we
didn't order wine or when they asked if we enjoyed it told them we didn't.
Definitely would not recommend, lots of lovely eateries around in fact directly opposite the lovely and highly recommended Wolf Bar and Grill.

Belle découverte que ce '' petit par la taille '' restaurant à Tapas. Il a fallu s'y reprendre à deux fois faute d'avoir réservé le premier soir mais c'est sans regret : accueil sympathique et très bons conseils, plats simples et délicieux aux arômes variés, verres de vin suggérés en accompagnement s'accordant comme il faut.
Budget très correct pour deux convives.
À recommander sans aucune réserve.

This place is great! Fantastic food (the Portugese cheese, the sardines, the hake, the stew, all delicious!) and great wines (that come with a background story). Service is incredible, super nice people! So if you appreciate amazing food, go here. You won't regret it.

Friendly service from a couple clearly devout about food and wine, we had 4 tapas and a cheeseboard, the house sommelier selected excellent wines for each, blending our taste and the requirement to accompany the food. Well thought out dishes, could not recommended highly enough.

I give Le Crô a 5-Star rating not because of the quality of their food or extensive menu but because of the team that they have and the passion that you can sense from the way they describe their dishes to listening to you review their wine recommendations. Hugo was a fantastic host and we really appreciated being brought in on his vision for his beautiful restaurant.

Accueil nul, table réservée mais occupée, pas de chance (ou pas!!) On nous pousse sur le côté sans délicatesse, on doit attendre une table réservée 3 jours auparavant, les clients qui d'après le nombre étaient à notre table (petite salle) se font resservir des boissons, là on comprend bien que nous allons devoir attendre un moment ! aucunes excuses, pas de solution à nous proposer.
Nous pouvons comprendre le beug pas de souci avec ça, mais la manque de courtoisie envers la clientèle c'est juste pas possible, certains devraient arrêter de se prendre pour des cadors de la gastronomie et redescendre de leur estrade, la chute risque d'être douloureuse, enfin bref ça c'est leurs problèmes. Nous avons du coup mangé ailleurs et on l'a surtout pas regretté.

Leaving the review a little late! My boyfriend and I came in late August made a reservation for that night and had the most wonderful experience. Maria and Hugo are quite the pair and the kitchen staff is awesome too!!! You can see the passion for their place so clearly! Hugo carefully picked out all the wines we drank for that evening, making excellent pairs! It was such a delightful wine pairing night and learning about all the wines was so exciting! I recommend everyone to go!
We had some very delicious tapas (cheese board, mushrooms, soup, sardine toast to name a few), and the GF milho bread is delicious. We were quite full the first night and asked if we could come back the next night for dessert and a Port wine, they were gracious enough to say yes, and we had a
Maria is very warm and welcoming with her contagious smile and her wonderful passion to speak about what flavors you can explore in all your dishes. To say Hugo is a wine connoiseiur does not do it justice. He knows all about Portugeuese wines their differences (for example Duoro DOC vs Duoro Superior), and how they can match just right with the dishes. It was our favorite place in the Algarve region.
We enjoyed it so much, I admit we forgot to take pictures of the place!! Just living in the moment.
Definitely make a reservation if you come here, you won't regret it!! :)

Simply outstanding. Both the venue and the menu are small but perfectly formed. Each dish has been carefully thought out and is beautifully crafted. The hosts are remarkably friendly. Highly recommended. Book in advance and be aware payment is cash only.

Maria and Hugo were very accommodating to myself, my wife and two little girls. Maria navigated us through the menu and really took time to interact with the girls.
Hugo has a great knowledge of the wine list and chose a white that complimented every dish we had ordered, and was equally as good with the kids.
The food was amazing, and the wine superb!
We would Highly recommend the restaurant to all.

As vegetarians we booked this restaurant because of it's simple but extremely tasty menu. We loved the attention by both host's and the tapas style food was fantastic. The restaurant is reasonably small so booking is required.

Gut, aber das war es dann auch. Die Tapas waren sehr gut, keine Frage. Aber sonst? Die Auswahl ist sehr beschränkt, es ähnelt sich alles auf der Speisekarte. Man sitzt doch eher ungemütlich, die Bedienung hat uns jede Menge Sachen aufgeschwätzt, und es ist doch eher überteuert. Kreditkarte? Fehlanzeige. 100€ für eine Familie und nicht mal richtig satt geworden.

If you are open minded and love good food which is matched to perfect wines then this is 'the' place for you. Can't recommend 'Le Cro' higher it serves great food with even better service and a smile. Let them recommend the glass per round of tapas and you will be very happy.

Came back 12 months later and still a 5 star review! Excellent food, great atmosphere. It is a small intimate place with 22-25 seats only so I recommend that you reserve a table if you want to eat there to avoid disappointment of missing out.

We loved it!
We booked it in advance but had to wait for almost 1 hour. We really wanted to eat at this little local restaurant. We weren't disappointed at all.
Amazing taste and culinary experience. The food, the selection of wine (by the glass). The staff very knowledgeable who knows his product and loves his job.

Great food and amusing service ,the only thing that ruined the whole experience was giving us the bread basket without asking and then charging us for it. If You put something unordered on the table that naturaly means "on the house" for me.. thats why 4/5 otherwise I would give the max. Maciek

Erg goede tapas...zeker geen doorsnee. Mooie smaak combinaties die steeds in balans zijn. Wordt allemaal met passie gemaakt en geserveerd. En daarbij heeft men verstand van wijn, je kan je hier gerust laten adviseren.

Super bar à tapas en centre ville de Carvoeiro
C'est relativement petit (10 tables) et la carte est également simple mais qu'est ce que c'est bon. Je conseille les ceviche de poisson, un délice !!
