I rented a road bike here for one day. The owners are very nice and helpful. When I came in the morning, I tried two bicycles. I've got a basic bike fit and I rode them on the street. I choosed the Olmo carbon bike in 55 frame size (I'm 179cm tall) with Ultegra groupset. There's some accessories available like mini pump, bike computer, saddle bag with tools, etc. The lady gave me some tips and map for my route. The bike was clean and prepared properly. The ride was smooth without any problems. I've enjoyed my ride in Algarve and I'd rent a bike here again.

Last week I rent a race-bike at SunBikeTours in Alvor . An aluminium frame with Shimano 105. The bike was well prepared and in a very good condition. The bike-fitting was professionally, and all other accessoiries were available in the shop, like helmets, drinking bottles, spare parts , innertubes and tools. Nice people of the shop explained me all about the enviroment. I ordered my bike in advance by mail and it was available as soon as I visited the shop in Alvor. After a week nice week of cycling in the Algarve my bike had no problem at all. So as a more than average cyclist I can recommand this firm !

Zwei grandiose Tage mit dem Rennrad an der Algarve erlebt. Ganz kurzfristig bei Katja und Thomas gebucht. Toller Service und Räder. Super Routenempfehlung bekommen. Die Beiden haben es drauf. Kann die Routen rund um Monchique und rauf zum Foia und am zweiten Tag über Marmelete nach Arrifana nur empfehlen. Überraschend war der gute Asphalt. Nur die Bumper in Alvor nerven ein wenig.

Two weeks ago I was part of a large cycling group from Ireland who enjoyed a three day guided cycling holiday around Alvor. We rented the bikes from SunBike Tours. I cannot praise this company highly enough. The carbon bikes were excellent, the routes were challenging and the overall organisation was first class. Thomas acted as guide and road mechanic while Katja took care of overall logistics and much else. Great attention to detail and every problem had a solution. I highly recommend this company and hope to utilise them again some day

War über Sylvester an der Algarve beim Rennrad fahren. Das Rad dazu kam von Thomas und Katja, ein nigel-nagel-neues Carbonrad der Firma Guerciotti. Bei der Übergabe war es perfekt eingestellt. Ich wurde noch mit Tips zur Routenplanung versorgt und auch sonst sehr nett und kompetent zur Region beraten! Alles in Allem ein sehr gutes Geschäft, geführt von zwei sehr Leuten, denen die Zufriedenheit des Kunden sehr am Herzen liegt! Durch Zufall haben wir diesen fantastischen Fahrrad Verleih im Internet entdeckt. Katja und Thomas sind wirklich klasse. Wir haben ein Rennrad für meine Frau ausgeliehen. Die Abwicklung war total unkompliziert und das Rennrad war perfekt. Katja hatte tolle Tourenvorschläge für uns und hat uns bestens beraten. Bei der Rückgabe des Fahrrads hat sich Thomas, obwohl es kurz vor Ladenschluß war und die beiden noch Räder ausliefern mussten, sofort meiner defekten Gangschaltung meines privat mitgebrachten Rennrads angenommen. Kurz entschlossen habe ich dann noch eine von Thomas geführte Tour durch das Monchique Gebiet gemacht. Wir waren eine tolle gemischte Gruppe und die Ausfahrt hat viel Spaß gemacht. Thomas ist ein sehr entspannter Tour Guide mit viel Wissen zur Umgebung. Wir können das helle und freundliche Geschäft der Beiden nur weiter empfehlen und wünschen Ihnen für die Zukunft alles Gute. Toller erster Kontakt per E-Mail und einfaches reservieren von Rennrädern, die in einem Top Zustand sind. Der eigene Sattel wurde schnell montiert, die passenden Pedale wurden angeschraubt und los ging es. Auch während der Leihwoche lief alles perfekt. Superfreundliche, hilfsbereite und kompetente Eigentümer. Da könnte sich so manches Radlgeschäft in Deutschland etwas abschauen! Weiter so und ich empfehle euch gerne weiter!

Ein Muss für jeden Rennradbegeisterten. War im August drei Wochen an der Algarve und habe einige Rennradtouren mitgemacht, die ich vorab von Berlin aus gebucht hatte. Die Organisation durch Katja war absolut perfekt. Ich braucht nur mein Lieblinktrikot mitnehmen. Vor Ort gab es das beste Equipment, vor allem erstklassige OLMO-Rennräder. Thomas als versierter und sehr erfahrener Guide hatte stets die ganze Gruppe im Griff und für jede(n) gab es entsprechende Herausforderungen. Egal ob Freizeitfahrer(in) oder ambitionierter Biker. Did the Summit Tour to Mount Foia through Monchique town on a cooler Thursday with Thomas and Katja. Thomas guided the tour and was very friendly and helpful the whole time. Katja was also very welcoming when I went to the shop. They even went out of their way to male sure the bike fit me and mounted my Garmin GPS for me. Couldn't find anywhere nicer to rent a bike/go on a cycling tour. Will definitely be back again, had the best time cycling yet with amazing views!

We decided to hire bikes on our summer family holiday in Alvor and we were very impressed by Sunbike tours. They helped to provide a great range of bikes at an amazingly good value but also went that step further to help advise on a scenic cycling route. We really loved our cycling time as a family and was able to experience the amazing sights. I would highly recommend sunbike tours for any cycling needs you have.

I can truly recommend Sun bike tours in Alvor. I rented a carbon bike to train some in the Mountains for my Ironman. The bike was an Olmo carbon frame with Shimano 105 Really all the bike I needed for the week. Sun bike tours helped me mounting my watt pedals and my saddle and adjusting the riding position for me. They also arrange guided trips for an extra fee which I can also recommend doing early during the vacation if you want to bike more and dont know the area. After this ride I knew how to find my way in the Mountains which helped me the rest of the week. The people who ran the store (A german couple) were very sympathic and service oriented. The impression of the business was very professional.

Wenn das Rennradel im Verleih besser geflegt ist als das Rad zu Hause, dann bist Du bei Sunbiketours mit Katja und Thomas. Wir wollten im Winter ein paar Rennradtouren abseits von den ueblichen Destinationen wie Mallorca oder Suedafrika machen und waren super positiv von Algarve, genauer dem Hinerland von Alvor rund um dem Berg Monchique ueberrascht. Perfekte Strassen, kein Verkehr und super Bike Wetter (anfang Januar). Alles dabei, laengere Anstiege, lange Zugstrecken, und perfekte Aussicht bis aufs Meer. Und einfach zu ereichen via Lissabon bzw Faro. Katja und Thomas sind super freundlich, professionel und engagiert und haben ne Menge guter Tourentipps parat.Werden sicherlich nicht zum letzten Mal im Winter hier sein. Joerg und Caren

I’ve rented a bike at SunBikeTours Algarve four times now and went on guided tours with Thomas twice. Katja and Thomas are just lovely people and do everything possible to make sure you have a fantastic day on your bike. They personally contact you after booking to answer any questions and explain everything you need to know. It is possible to rent equipment such as cycling clothing, shoes, helmets and gloves. You also get water bottles with electrolytes. It is possible to leave your personal stuff at the store, which is great, for example if you need to change afterwards. Afterwards, Katja makes sure to send some photos of the trip as a memory. Their carbon bikes are absolutely great, even though I've never heard of the Italian brand before. The condition of the bikes is perfect as well, Thomas seems to put a lot of afford in the maintenance of the rental bikes. He takes very good care about the rental bikes not getting damaged. The guided tours are very helpful to get to know the nicest, quiet roads if you're new in the area. You'll learn which roads to avoid, where to fill up your water bottles and the best places to get some nice portugese cake. Katja and Thomas do a great job. I can’t really imagine what more they could do for their customers, there is just nothing to complain about. I would recommend them without any doubt to everyone I know who is planning a cycle trip in this part of the Algarve. Hope to be there again very soon! :)

Ich habe im Herbst 2019 eine wunderschöne Tour mit Thomas auf den höchsten Berg der Algarve, dem FOIA", gemacht. 95km mit entsprechenden Steigungen bei schönstem Radlerwetter. Die Straßen waren toll und fast immer "Autofrei". Thomas kannte die Gegend perfekt und hat uns auf jeder Gefahrenstelle hingewiesen. Darüber hinaus hat er auch viel über Land & Leute erzählt. Das Leihrad war TOP und sehr gepflegt. Katja und Thomas sind ein tolles Team und bieten einen super Service rund ums radeln an. Es war einfach ein toller Tag. Sunbiketoursalgarve muss man wählen, wenn man an der Algarve ist.

Das Sunbike-Team rund um Günni ist einfach super! Günni, Heike, Andre und Gaby haben immer ein offenes Ohr, beraten hervorragend bzgl. der verschiedenen Touren und auch die Touren selbst sind abwechslungsreich und spannend. Während der Tour erzählen die Guides viel über Land und Leute. Die Bikes sind in Tip-Top-Zustand und werden individuell auf jeden Teilnehmer eingestellt - besser geht's nicht. Alleine wegen des Sunbike-Teams würden wir schon wieder kommen.

Great carbon road bikes. Awesome service, tips, map, guidance. Thomas and Katja let me pick up the bike after normal opening hours. I also booked shoes, a helmet and bottles. I can highly recommend SunBikeTours. I took the beautiful OLMO Veloce ZeroUno bike up the HC climb to Fóia (902m) and around the mountain to Marmelete. Just an amazing ride totaling a 127km and 2,000m of elevation gains. Thank you, Katja & Thomas!

Ich war mit meiner Freundin im Urlaub in alvor. Sie hat sich dort ein Rennrad geliehen, wer sehr zufrieden mit Material, tourberatung und Service. Ich habe mir ein beachcruiser geliehen und war auch sehr zufrieden. So war ich im Ort mobil. Die Fahrräder waren in top Zustand und sehr gut gepflegt. Die Beratung vor Ort und Freundlichkeit im Shop waren auch einwandfrei. Rundum empfehlenswert!

Durch Zufall bin ich auf Katjas und Thomas' Laden in Alvor gestoßen. Eigentlich wollten wir mit dem Auto zum Foia hochfahren, aber da man bei Katja und Thomas die ganze Ausrüstung mieten kann, habe ich mich kurzerhand entschieden, den Foia stattdessen mit dem Rennrad zu erklimmen! Fazit: Ein Riesenspaß! Besonders weil Katja und Thomas mir eine tolle Route fernab der großen Straßen gezeigt haben, mit super Asphalt und anspruchsvollen Steigungen. Die Strecke führt durch kleine Dörfer und zum Teil fährt man bis zu 10 km ohne, dass einem ein Auto begegnet. Ich habe mir ein Alu-Rad gemietet, dieses war für die Strecke und mein Können perfekt eingestellt. Das Ergebnis war, dass ich für die letzten 8 km auf den Foia hoch nur 22 min mehr als Thibaut Pinot gebraucht habe, laut Strava. Also gibt es für das nächste Mal noch Steigerungspotenzial meinerseits. Ich kann allen Rennradbegeisterten, ob Amateur oder Profi, auf jeden Fall empfehlen ihr Rennrad bei Katja und  Thomas zu mieten. Insgesamt sehr guter und professioneller Service mit Humor!

Amazing experience. We initially rented road bikes as a couple and cycled up to Monchique and back and I liked it so much I booked in for a tour of the west coast. Both Tomás and Katja are great fun, really look after their bikes and know their cycling! Highly recommended!

I would highly recommend Sun Bike Tours Algarve in Alvor run by Katja and Thomas. Two very enjoyable mornings spent cycling in the mountains with Thomas; on some beautiful routes off the beaten track. The bikes are brand new carbon road bikes, all equipment can be hired. Thomas is a great guide and knows all the best coffee shops and natural springs along the way. Very reasonable prices and a quality service. Very nice people too.

Had a perfect ride with perfect weather and a perfect guide!! A truly wonderful experience everything from making sure the bike was adjusted to fit me to cycling on roads in the mountains that were traffic free and pothole less ( some of the best surfaces I have ever cycled on!!). I will go back again!! A Ten star experience.

Saw this shop on a Google search and read the reviews left by previous customers, so had to call in, went only to hire a couple of mountain bikes for me and my son and came out with a "Summit Tour" on a full carbon road bike, as I did not intend on doing this as I had all my cycling clothes at home they supplied everything except the socks, and I mean everything, the shoes, shorts, top, wind jacket, gloves, helmet and even sunglasses, oh not forgetting water in two bottles and you also have the option to purchase energy supplements from them as well to keep yourself topped up. Both owners Katja and Thomas were very friendly and did not oversell anything and questioned my about my ability of riding a road bike to see if it the ride was for me, the bike was set up for me the day before so it was a case of turn up, change and go, Thomas led the ride constantly asking if myself and the other rider was ok and paced it to suit our abilities, always slowing to our pace on the steeper bits, at the top we stopped for refreshments and then headed back. I would 100% recommend going to them whether it's a hire for the day with the kids or a experienced road ride for 60 mile, they have a variety of bikes and even a tandem. Price, I thought was good, I never even checked out any others as based on other reviews I had already decided to go here. Get yourself down there and hire. Quality all the way.

I can highly recommend hiring a bike from SunBike, don't bother looking elsewhere! I stumbled across their shop whilst on holiday in Alvor and ended up hiring a Olmo full carbon road bike which was almost new and a great ride! Katja and Thomas are very polite, friendly and helpful and provide a very personal and accomodating service. The bikes are meticulously maintained by Thomas and their local knowledge of area allows them to advise great routes, especially the one ride I did up to Foia, it was awesome! I will definitely hire from them again when next in Alvor, so should you!

Hired 2 bikes for half the day and had such a lovely time touring the area. The couple who own the shop were very helpful, they made sure we had the right bikes for us and that they were to our height. We also had a map of the area given to us which was a big help. Was a really fun experience.

I had the extreme pleasure to be guided by Thomas in 2 fantastic bike rides. One to the Serra de Monchique (80km) and the other one to Foia (Summit Tour, 95km). Amazing scenery, almost no traffic, good cycling challenge and, moreover, Thomas guiding me all the way and knowing every turn and every potholes of what he calls "his terrain". Of course, all of this on a full carbon bike in perfect order. One of my best bike rides ever. I strongly recommend. Thank you so much Thomas and Katja!!!

Wer das biken und die Algarve liebt, sollte unbedingt bei Katja & Thomas vorbei schauen. Dort könnt ihr Rennrad, MTB oder andere Bikes mieten oder nehmt an einer von geführten Tour mit Thomas teil. Letzteres ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Eindrücke vom Outback von Alvor hätte ich sonst sicher nicht gewonnen. Topp!!!

Katja & Thomas are so helpful and just all round great fun. They provided us with excellent equipment and told us the best routes to take - away from the busy coast and north into the beautiful Serra do Monchique with its perfectly surfaced roads that wind through vineyards, orange groves and incredible eucalyptus forests. The views while circling around Foia are definitely worth the effort. Finally Alvor has a really good bike rental service run by experts. I'll be back.

Great service, very friendly, gave all the necessary equipment at no extra cost and were accomodating when we were slightly short on the deposit. Gave advise on possible cycle routes we might like to try, and offered to collect us and bikes when the route proved more challenging than expected. One small quibble: beware the road to Marmelete (some very steep hills, long distance between rest stops)!

Nice new bikes and friendly service! Had some issues with the chain slipping off, but probably a one-off... Lots of useful extras included like a water bottle and bag, and all at a very good price :)

Eigentlich wollte ich ja ein Mountainbike ausleihen, - aber als ich dann bei SunBikeTours Algarve die Rennräder sah, musste ich einfach auch noch einen Tag Rennradfahren einschieben. Es wurde dann eine superschöne Tour mit Thomas auf den Foia - über eine Strecke, die ich alleine so bestimmt nicht gefunden hätte. Landschaftlich sehr schön, eine Menge Hügel rauf und runter, dabei richtig gute Straßen, aber nur ganz wenig Autos. Als Dreingabe nette Unterhaltung und interessante Geschichten über Land und Leute. Perfekt! Als Fahrradverleih und auch zum Tourenfahren kann ich SunBikeTours Algarve unbedingt weiterempfehlen und wünsche allen Radlern viel Spaß! Christine

What a fantastic day with Thomas and Katja Cycling up to and around the resevoir. We are a running club from Reading and mixed cycling ability but between them both they got us round 40km, Well done . They have just started the business and will do well with their enthusuasm and expertise. Brand new bikes and excellent equipment. Highly recommended.
