Wer historische Architektur mag, der hat hier ein sehr schoenes Castelo aus vergangenen Zeiten. Interessantes Fotomotiv. Es sollte zu einem Silves Besuch dazugehoeren.

Čia geriau važiuoti su automobiliu patiems. Nes teritorija didelė. Visu pirma eini palei siena ir stebi gražius panoraminius vaizdus, kol apeisi visą siena perimetru užtruks. Daug kas tiesiog stovi ir gėrisi gražiais vaizdais, plius darosi asmeniukes. O dar bokštialiuose yra mini parodų. Po to visas vidinis kiemas. Ten praktiškai vien liekanos pastatų, bet įdomu. Yra fontanėliu su skulptūromis. Taip pat yra kur ir pasistiprinti , arba tiesiok pasiadėti pavėsi ir pailsėti bei atsigerti gaivinančio gėrimo jei nesi alkanas. Yra ir tualetas. Dar galima ir po miestelį pasivaikščioti.

Traumhafter Ort. Wunderschöne restaurierte maurischen Burg. Wenn man auf der Burgmauer steht und auf den Rio Arade schaut ist es, als könnten gerade arabische Daus anlegen. Über den Rio Arade kann man vom Atlantik bis nach Silves per Boot fahren. Eine wirkliche Sehenswürdigkeit.

Ein schöne Burg, der ehemalige Sitz der Mauren, mit gut restaurierten Mauern thront über den Dächern der Stadt. Von der Burgmauer hat man einen schönen Ausblick über die Stadt und das Umland. Innerhalb der Mauern finden noch immer Ausgrabungen statt. Jedoch sind dort bis auf die Zisterne, keine erhaltenen Gebäude aus der Zeit. Man zahlt derzeit 3.80€ inclusive Eintritt für das Archäologischen Museum welches 5 Gehminuten entfernt liegt.

Muy curioso de ver. Tiene buenas vistas y la disposición típica de una fortaleza mozárabe. Dispone de un camino de fácil acceso a las Torres que se puede hacer sin grandes esfuerzos. Dispone de un bar interior donde se puede comer o tomar café. También tenía dentro una pequeña exposición sobre la reintroducción del Lince Iberico. Quizás no le doy 5 estrellas porque no se han molestado es traducir los carteles al español, cuando si hay carteles en inglés, francés y alemán.

Muy recomendable la visita al Castillo de Silves. Permite disfrutar de unas vistas privilegiadas, tanto del pueblo de Silves como de los alrededores. Actualmente tiene una exposición sobre el Lince Ibérico muy interesante y recomendable. Por otra parte, también vale la pena visitar el pueblo de Silves en sí, sus calles tienen mucho encanto.

Está bien, pero realmente lo que haces es rodear el recinto por la muralla y viendo las distintas torres, de las estancias del castillo solo quedan los restos de los muros, nada más.

Нам очень понравилось. Тихое, атмосферное место. В несезон на парковке есть место. Несмотря на заметный новодел, чувствуется дух ушедшей эпохи. Внутри крепости есть кафе с wi-fi, небольшая экспозиция скульптур местных авторов, фонтанчики.
Предупреждение - прогулка вдоль стен крепости небезопасна - многие участки не огорожены! Будьте осторожны!!! (Поэтому минус одна «звездочка»)
В общем Роскошные виды на округу и город, гнезда аистов, готический храм 13го века, милые кофейни и магазинчики рукодельной керамики.

Nice views, and nice to see the inside. But it's nothing special, and after an hour you've seen the place. Don't go there with young children, as they may fall from the walls where there are no fences, unless you are holding them with you all the time.

Está muy bien reformada la muralla exterior y el interior también están muy bien identificadas las ruinas de parte de los edificios. A mí me ha faltado una reproducción,no foto de reproducción, de cómo eran las ruinas originariamente. Por hacerme una idea

My wife and I attended Silves Castle where they charged a small entrance fee of €2.80 which I thought was quite reasonable. We found that there was a lot of history to the castle and the views overlooking the town of Silves and surrounding areas was quite spectacular. It wasn’t busy when we went and it took approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete our self guided tour. Would recommend attending the castle for any tourist who’s in the area.

Keď už budete brázdiť po Algarve, oplatí sa sem zájsť. Zaujímavá architektúra a pekné výhľady v okolí. Na konci Januára takmer žiadny ľudia a von príjemných 18°C. S autom sa neoplatí ísť hore, ale dá sa luxusne zaparkovať cca 500 m pod na pozdĺžnom parkovaní pri obytných domoch. Asi 1 km odtiaľ sú polia, kde rastú nadivoko citróny. Vstupné na hrad bolo 2,8€ + múzeum. Odtiaľ môžete pokračovať na úžasné pláže pobrežia Algarve.

Interesting castle with beautiful views. Loved the Bongard sculptures on display. It is a little more intact than other early castles we've seen with exhibits in the towers and a large exhibit on the Iberian Lynx.

I love this moorish castle. Quite large compared to the other castles in the area. Well restored. I had lunch at the restaurant inside the castle and it was delicious. I visit every year when I'm in the Algarve. Nice day trip

Was a great trip out. We spent about 2 hours here just admiring the views and had a coffee in the onsite cafe.
Make sure you wear suitable footwear as the ground is uneven and steps all around the edges of the castle.

Das Castell ist weitläufig und bietet Platz zum Verweilen. Da dort stetig ein zum Teil kräftiger Wind bläst ist es unerlässlich bspw. Hüte anzubinden! die Klippen auf den das Kastell gebaut wurde sind atemberaubend schön, wild und bizarr.
Die umliegenden Buchten bieten etwas Schutz vor dem allgegenwärtigen Wind, aber auch Zugang zur Schönheit des Atlantik. Ob man nun badet oder einfach nur am Strand liegt.
Aufgrund seiner Lage am äußersten Zipfel Portugals ist es dort immer auch etwas kühler als im Rest des Landes.

Hermoso castillo, construido con piedras del lugar. A pesar de su origen romano, fueron los árabes que lo dejaron tal cual está ahora. Es considerado el mejor ejemplo de la arquitectura árabe en Portugal.

A great small castle in the centre of historic Silves with predominantly outdoor attractions including the castle walls and a sculpture exhibition. On a sunny day you can take in views of Silves and the surrounding areas.

It's not huge and won't take up your whole day, but it's definitely worth the journey to check it out. It's in pretty good shape from all the restoration work, but it still feels like you're traveling back in time. I recommend doing the museum as well. It's a short walk downhill and has some interesting artifacts. If you like storks, the museum is the best place to get some close-up pictures from the top floor.

Ein sehr schönes Kastell mit reicher Geschichte. Ein Besuch lohnt wohl vor allem wegen des phantastischen Rundumblickes, den man von den Zinnen herunter hat. Parkmöglichkeiten sind relativ rar. Die Verpflegung im Bistro ist sehr gut und relativ preiswert.

Il posto è bellissimo, vale la pena pagare il biglietto per vedere le rovine di questo meraviglioso castello. Ma sconsiglio vivamente di pagare il sovrapprezzo per vedere il museo, non ne vale assolutamente la pena. Scalini pericolosi per entrare nel sotterraneo imbiancato, solo per guardare dei plastici di animali del posto e un paio di fotografie degli animali dell'algarve con altrettante foto di naturalisti. 1,50 euro non ne vale assolutamente la pena.

Interessante Festung mit schönem Blick über Silves. Kostet Eintritt. Beinhaltet auch ein kleines Museum.Festungsbesichtigung ist nicht unbedingt ein Muss.Das Städtchen Silves hingegen sollte man unbedingt erkunden. Sehenswert die historische, alte Brücke. Viele gemütliche Gaststätten. Besonders an der und um die Kathedrale Sé. Auf div. Häusern und auch auf der Kirche nisten Störche. Schön, zu sehen!

Walking over the walls, you have a good view over the city of Silves (the view of the old city far better than the other side) but the courtyard itself was a little disappointing. There were some archeological sites but the modern additions were a little disappointing

Le château de Silves est de couleur rouge et a été construit par les Arabes au 11ème siècle. Il est l’un des châteaux les mieux conservés de l’Algarve. À l'intérieur du château, vous avez accès à une vue panoramique fantastique sur la ville. Vous pouvez vous promener le long de ses larges murs de pierre et de sable encore très bien conservés. Outre les murs, il possède également un fossé rose profond de 5 m de profondeur et une statue de D. Sancho I, représentant la prise de la première forteresse.
Le château est entièrement visitable, ouvrant tous les jours sauf Noël et le jour de l'an. L'entrée coûte 2,80 € et les enfants, les étudiants et les plus de 65 ans, 1,40 €. Le billet commun pour visiter le château et le musée municipal d'archéologie est de 3,90 €. Le château est ouvert d'avril à octobre de 9h à 20h et d'octobre à mars de 9h à 17h 30.
Vous avez un parking gratuit juste à côté.

Bonito castillo de origen árabe construido con piedra rojiza. Actualmente solo quedan en buena conservación las murallas y las torres, por lo que una vez en el interior no hay mucho que ver, aunque desde ahí hay unas vistas muy bonitas de Silves. El precio para entrar es de 2,80€ y se tarda unos 25 minutos en visitar.

Not too hot in October, so a visit to this hilltop castle was top of the list whilst touring the coast. Not as thick as English castles but it’s all still here! Refurbished in 1940s.

É o maior e mais bem conservado castelo do algarve. De características mouras, foi sede capital do Reino das Andaluzias aquando da ocupação Moura. Reconquistado por D. Sancho I o qual tem a sua estátua em bronze à entrada.

Ver lopen om het kasteel te kunnen zien en/of betreden. Uiteindelijk niet naar binnen gegaan maar wel vlakbij gegeten. Alledrie een halve pizza. Van de buitenkant ziet het er imposant uit. Door de hekken bij de ingang valt de binnenplaats nogal tegen....maar smaken verschillen en mijn medereizigers zijn niet zo wild op dingen uit het verleden.
De kerk was trouwens echt dicht tot 31 oktober. Foto's later.

A proper castle, with a great history and beautiful architecture. Entry is very cheap and under 10's go free. There is a cafe serving lunches and ice creams inside, but my advice is go-to the Santa Sancha Bistro just outside the main gate for lunch - it's awesome.
One warning, the walk around the walls is not for the feint of heart as there are no handrails on the inner edges of the walls. At busy times you need to be careful and patient.

Absolutely loved it, such a beautiful place and only €2.80 to get in, as well as being open until 22:00. Amazing underground area as well, telling you about the Iberian Lynx breeding programme. Just love castles

Très jolie visite. Pour y accéder il faut monter une petite rue qui monte assez raide. Une halte dans la montée pour voir une église typique. La visite du château se fait par un parcour tt le long des remparts qui offre un panorama magnifique. Des petits jardin aménagé dans l'enceinte des mur du château.

C'est très sympa des maisons typique 'un château à voir absolument et visiter le musée' déguster les vins sur la place 'la personne est très sympathique. Manger le plat du jour à 7.50€tout compris au masqueria. On parle français. Copieux et très très bon.

Eine schöne, restaurierte Burg oberhalb der Stadt. Toller Rundumblick über die Stadt. Im Inneren eine Ausstellung und Ausgrabungsstätte. Mit den vielen, modernen Skulpturen im Innenbereich und viel Grün lädt die Festung zum verweilen ein. Dazu ein Restaurant. Der Eintritt hat sich schon gelohnt.

Intressant och fin fästning från 1100-talet. Häftigt miljö och otroligt fin utsikt.
Det som skulle kunna gjort detta ännu bättre var informationsskyltar. Jag gick inte guidad visning, vilket antagligen hade löst problemet.
Bra cafe på borggården.
Billig entré. Parkering finns i närheten, men jag kan tänka mig att det är svårt att hitta plats under högsäsong.

A atmosfera de Castelo é sensacional durante a feira medieval de silves, tudo muito bonito e organizado. Bem lotado cheio de feiras, barracas vendendo de comida a artesanato. Infelizmente a noite não se tem fotos muito boas, mas de dia deve ser ótimo para registrar as vistas!

Heerlijke plek om lekker een bakkie te doen. Een heerlijke lunch of diner. Je wordt snel geholpen. Maar als je wil afrekenen, moet je even geduld hebben. Hier in Portugal gaat bestellen voor afrekenen. Dat is even wennen.

The castle of Silves is very is beautiful but the 1755 earthquake damaged a lot the ruins so you can see more the walls than the building that once was inside the castle. Inside the castle it has a modern building as a bar.

Im Reiseführer stand das ein Besuch kostenlos sei, aber die 4,00€ sind für den Erhalt nicht raus geschmissen. Ein Bollwerk von Burg!! Und gut erhalten. Super Aussicht in die Umgebung. Offene Ausgrabungen sind gut zu sehen. Eine Ausstellung zum Erhalt des Luchs sind integriert. (Nur das nette italienische Restaurant passt mit dem modernen Stil dort nicht hin)!! Man fühlte sich ins Mittelalter zurück versetzt

L'entrée est payante mais à prix très raisonnable. la visite de l'intérieur de ce chateau très bien rénové donne une très belle vue tant sur l'intérieur que sur les environs extérieurs. Belle surprise, aucun regret

Já tenho visitado várias vezes, mas esta última visita foi muito agradável porque vê-se melhorias notórias na requalificação do castelo, sendo que o preço dos bilhetes de entrada não me custa dar o valor que também é bastante acessível. Ainda só não tive oportunidade de visitar durante a Feira Medieval, que deve ser deslumbrante, mas hei de ter possibilidade disso.

Eine sehr beeindruckende Burganlage mit engen Gassen und schönen kleinen Läden. Die Festung selbst berherbergt eine Art Oase im Inneren mit Palmen, Obstbäumen und einem schicken, sich gut ins Ambiente einfügenden, Café.

Heerlijk even kunnen zitten en rond gelopen binnen het kasteel. Niet prijzig en leuk om even binnen te kijken en te genieten van het uitzicht. Restaurantje wat daar binnen zit was erg lekker en de Orange Blossem Ice Tea was overheerlijk. 4 sterren omdat de meneer niet zo'n plezier had in zijn werk ;)

Es un casquillo grande y bien conservado . Uno puede pasearse por todas sus murallas. Si compras la entrada combinara , también puedes ir por un euro más al museo al que arqueológico ( a unos 300 metros del Castillo ) y te ofrecen hacer una cata de vinos al lado, naturalmente para luego vendertw el vino

Hay que pagar para acceder. No se admiten perros. El castillo está muy bien, las vistas y tiene restos de, según entendí, un palacio y algo más. Por el precio merece la pena.
