A hidden gem for travellers on budget. 5 EUR for a soup and one of four daily changing delicious dishes. Yes, it's a canteen but it also has some amazing views upon the botanic gardens from a terrace you can eat on. Can't recommend enough.

If you wander in here looking for lunch you might be forgiven for thinking that it is a private cafeteria connected to the university or some such. Well it is a cafeteria but anybody can eat here, the food is cafeteria food but Portuguese cafeteria food, so not bad. Overall cheap and cheerful but very good for what it is. I will go back there. Others have mentioned it, but it bears repeating, it's worth coming here just so you can sit and eat on the veranda, splendid views.

Un oasis en el desierto. Bueno, bonito (por las vistas) y barato. Para comer económico y de calidad dentro de un centro universitario. Precios de estudiante.

We were visiting the university and decided to grab a light breakfast here. A couple of cafes and a mista tosta on a peaceful quiet balcony with a view of the river was a great way to start our sightseeing day. After some sightseeing we decided to grab a late lunch here instead of hiking down to town. The old ladies in the kitchen had already tore down the lunch setup but happily scooped up a couple of servings for us from the back. As it was end of service the food wasn't as fresh if we had come during service which was our fault. The quail and fish was still decent and cheap. I would recommend coming earlier.

Um espaço com cantina e bar. Esplanadas nas varandas (R/C e 1º andar) que dão para o rio Mondego. Espaços para estudar como, por exemplo, a sala de estudo no primeiro andar. Capela no primeiro andar. Acolhe grupos católicos (como por exemplo o SPES), possibilitando aos interessados, crescer espiritualmente.

Muito bom para estudar com uma vista relaxante sobre o jardim botânico e o rio.

Muito simples, com preços muito acessíveis. Local limpo, sossegado e com uma varanda maravilhosa, que só por si vale a visita.

Cheap meals in the cafeteria. What makes it special is the fact that it has one of the best balconies in town with a gorgeous view of the Mondego river and Jardim Botânico.
