Wenige Schritte von der historischen Kirche entfernt, liegt das CAFÉ DA SÉ auf einem ruhigen und schönen Platz in der Altstadt von Silves. Läßt man sich in die Stühle dieser " Erholungsstätte " sinken und hat seine Bestellung bei dem sehr freundlichen Personal aufgeben, kann man sich dem Flair dieses besonderen Ortes hingeben und entspannen. Liebevoll angerichtete Speisen und Salate führen immer wieder zu einer begeisterten Reaktion der Gäste.

Wir waren schon öfter hier und es war ein tolles Cafe mit einem tollen Betreiber. Dann war das Cafe lange geschlossen. Unser heutiger Besuch war im Vergleich zu früher eher enttäuschend.Schade.

Pasamos por Silves para disfrutar de la feria medieval y pasamos a merendar algo por aquí. Tienen una terraza muy buena para verano en plena feria. Todo lo que probamos muy bueno. Excelente para hacer una paradita si vas a visitar el castillo ó a dar una vuelta por la feria.

Mike the proprietor of Café da Sé – what a GEM ! Yes, Mike can make a great orange juice and pull a perfect espresso. His bakery treats are great… clean bathrooms, fantastic décor in alignment to the town and nearby historical and cultural attractions. This local business owner gave us some of our most valuable travel advice while in Portugal. We were on day two of our two week trip. Mike provided our group with a dozen great ideas inclusive of where to eat, attractions to see in the various towns in Portugal. Mike your advice was followed and we had a great trip. I spent a very relaxed and mellow day at this very pleasant café. The food was non-traditional Christmas fayre, but all the better for that. The owner (Mike) was attentive and thoughtful. A 'larger than life' character, but in a good way. Would I go back? I was there on New Years day enjoing the same hospitality.

Top tentje, van oudere Engelsman, echte horeca man, zeer vriendelijk, gastvrij, persoonlijk. Eten was perfect.

Nice little place, good coffee but terrible service. Sell brioches and call them croissants. So when I pointed out that it's actually brioch, the barmaid got really defensive and tried to prove opposite. It was pathetic, because even on her phone, she waved in front of my face, was clearly saying - croissant brioch. Brioch in form of croissant. Her argument about the fact that 'wherever I'm from' it might be brioch but here it's croissant, was particularly silly. Croissant is a French thing and all over the world is same. Otherwise why shall we not call pancakes croissant? Anyway, apologies for my rant. As a result, grumpy old bloke, working at that place too, you can recognise him by his unique way of serving (saying 'yes' no good morning or what can I get you, and always having an unsatissfied with life face) snapped it off me, saying you don't like it so you can't have it. I'm not even talking about refund or apologies of any sort. Really rude. Just wanted a good old croissant, ended up with a mouthful of stale brioch and moody people to deal with.
