C est tres dommage que l exposition d artisanat où il y a de superbes objets et où j avais selectionné de magnifiques pieces originales....ne soit pas équipée d un terminal CB....generalement qd je fais du tourisme ...je n' ai pas bcp de cash sur moi....et me sers bcp de ma " visa"....c est dommage pour eux car ces artisans d ' art manquent des ventes....et moi je suis privée de pieces originales de tres bonne qualité artisanale.....et locale.....et pressée par le temps je ne suis pas " redescendue" ni " remontee " par des routes montagneuses......pour enfin trouver un distributeur.........

Wenn das Wetter mitspielt ein wahnsinniges schönes Panorama. Frostbeulen sollten trotz Sonne und 30 Grad einen Pullover oder eine Jacke mitnehmen. Es ist etwas windig dort oben. Es gibt hier ein Kaffee und ein Laden mit handwerkskunst von Einheimischen.

Vista exuberante! Lá de cima pode-se ver boa parte do Algarve. E é o lugar mais alto dessa região, quase mil metros de altura. Recomendo altamente uma visita.

Wir waren Anfang Februar dort: Excellente Fernsicht bis zum Meer, kostenlos Parken, T-Shirt-Wetter. Der Kaffe Americano wie immer super. Mal weg aus dem Wintergrau zuhause. ♂️
Bitte nicht die Abkürzung durch den Wald nehmen, wenn euer Pkw nicht schwindelfrei ist.
Die Rundwanderwege waren ganz ok, die Sendemasten muss man in Kauf nehmen. Alternative ist der Nachbar-Berg östlich vom Foia.

Ist mit dem Auto über die Serpentinen gut zu erreichen. Oben sind ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze vorhanden. Der Ausblick hängt natürlich vom Wetter bzw von der Sichtweite ab. Ich würde empfehlen klares Wetter abzuwarten weil man dann bis zu Meer sehen kann.

De weg naar boven heeft echt geweldige uitzichten, maar bovenop vond ik het heel erg tegenvallen. Een heel groot plateau voor de auto's en bussen, met daarop radartorens. Een uitzicht die aan een kant echt wel mooi was maar echt 360° rond kijken kon niet. Erg spijtig!

Local muito só, não tem gastronomia regional à venda, apenas um pavilhão com peças de artesanato local, mas sem interesse para os turistas, que apenas aproveitam a casa de banho e as vistas. O suposto café ou restaurante existente, estava fechado e a envolvente muito pouco cuidada. Pena não olharmos mais para os espanhóis... Tem uma bonita Capela.

Die Aussicht ist sehr schön, aber zu viele Touristen und Antennen. Dann lieber auf den Picota, da ist die Aussicht nicht schlechter, aber man ist unter sich.

Die Aussicht ist beeindruckend schön. Ich kann jedem empfehlen, der in der Nähe ist, dort hinzufahren. Vom höchsten Berg der Algarve (902 m) kann man bei gutem Wetter den Atlantik sehen. Einen kleinen Shop und Imbiss gibt es auch.

Der Foia ist mit 904 m über N.N. die höchste Erhebung im Monchique Gebirge. Es gibt hier oben ein Restaurant und natürlich auch einen Souvenirladen. Ansonsten gibt es nicht Besonders zu sehen. Einzig der Blick bis zum Meer sollte erwähnt werden. Das ist aber nur der Fall, wenn es klar ist; dann kann man sogar sehr gut Portimaó mit der Einmündung des Arade ins Meer und auch Lagos erkennen. Das ist aber reine Glücksache. Fotos sind so selten aussagekräftig, weil sehr dunstbehaftet.

Am Besten abends oder unter der Woche besuchen. Bei schönem Wetter kann man bis ans Meer sehen. Rechts der Atlantik und vorne das Mittelmeer. Wer rechts hoch läuft Richtung der Messstation/ Funkmasten( kleiner Hügel hoch und dann über das Messegelände laufen) kann ein kleines Stück einen schönen Wanderweg gehen und nochmal ruhige Ausblicke geniessen.

Paisagem a visitar sempre que possível, pena é que o incêndio deixou marcas tanto nas pessoas como na paisagem. Aguarda-se a força de recuperação da natureza e também a coragem de quem ali habita para recomeçar. Já há 18 anos assim foi lamentavelmente.

Hiking from Monchique to the viewpoint is absolutely doable on both the hiking route and on the road. Please note that there is no opportunity to refill your water bottles on the way up so pack up in the town!
The viewpoint itself is nice, there is a snackbar, crafts shop near.

Super point de vue par contre pour le restaurant l accueil n est pas au plus agréable le bonjour et merci ne fait pas partie de leur vocabulaire comme ils sont tous seul en haut ils s imaginent avoir le monopole
On attendait car on ne savait pas s il fallait commander ou s il y avait un service la serveuse desservant les autres tables en nous ignorant totalement alors que nous étions tous seuls comme client

Simply sensational view of the coast. Definitely worth paying a visit. Cafe was clean and staff very friendly. Sadly the charred landscape from the fire in early August was still visible there, and en route from Monchique. A lot of litter and cigarette stubs around the viewing area from thoughtless tourists.

Stukje rijden vanuit de kust, maar dit is het autoritje waard. Onderweg prachtige plaatjes kunnen schieten langs de weg, stadje Monchique tegengekomen. Eenmaal boven is het uitzicht fantastisch, je overziet bijna de gehele kustlijn tussen Faro en Lagos. Aan de andere kant kan je als je geluk hebt, op een heldere dag Lissabon spotten. Er is een klein snackbar aanwezig en voldoende parkeergelegenheid.

Super point de vue.
Il faut partir un peu du parking pour s'éloigner de la foule.
Vous avez un chemin au fond du parking qui vous emmènera un peu plus loin. vous descendez sur l'autre versant et la un beau paysage avec très peu de touriste. on est dans une lande très jolie.
plusieurs chemin dont un qui part vert un autre petit sommet.
Attention quand il y a du vent, la température est un peu basse.

Simplesmente Fenomenal! Sou Freguês em fazer a escalada de Bike, por Estrada e em BTT. É Durinho sair do Nivel do Mar e em 35 km's estarmos a 1000 metros altitude. Por Estrada ainda se faz bem, em BTT impõe respeito, mas vale o esforço pelas paisagens que nos são oferecidas. Chegando ao topo é desfrutar da beleza e sentir no vento fresco o ar de missão cumprida! Recomendo a todos Ciclísticas e Bttistas!!!

ok view. but we expected more. we only find one marked walking route and it lead us to a bunch of stones. nice view from here but nothing else. it's pretty windy up here so remember warm close! there is not much to do here. we could find other marked walking routes and there is a little café and a gift shop.

C’est un lieu touristique fréquenté mais c’est aussi le point de départ de plusieurs randonnées. La vue est magnifique, l’air frais et il est agréable de profiter de la terrasse du café ou de flâner dans le magasin de souvenirs. Il y a aussi une joie petite chapelle qui mérite le coup d’œil

O miradouro da foia é daqueles sítios que se pode passar lá um dia inteiro. Ou bem a passear pelos senderos ou bem ficar parado a contemplar as vistas magníficas que tem sobre o barlavento algarvio. Agora, se calha a estar nevoeiro, não se vê nada! Neste último caso acaba por ser frustrante pois pode-se ir ao bar tomar um chá quente ou um café, comprar um souvenir na loja para o efeito mas no fim, fica aquela sensação de que é fomos lá em vão. Mas recomendo vivamente.

Es war der Hammer dort oben. Jeder der in der Nähe ist und nicht einmal hier war hat definitiv was verpasst. Das kleine Cafe im Auto drin war echt Spitze und läd zum Kaffee oder anderes trinken ein. Die Aussicht reicht bis ans Meer. Es gibt öffentliche Toiletten und einen kleinen Shop von einheimischen Zeug. Plant am besten ein paar Minuten mehr ein und genießt es richtig.

A Fóia é o ponto mais alto do Algarve, com 902 metros de altura e por isso de visita obrigatória.
Por todo o lado veem-se grandes blocos de sienito, rodeados de urze, rododendros, rosas albardeiras (Paeonia broteroi), medronheiros e muitas mais plantas.
Ideal para parar e observar o Algarve em redor. Parar e provar o medronho ou a melosa, bebidas típicas da zona. Comprar mel ou as típicas pantufas.
Evitar pôr pedras assinalando a "sua passagem"... Passe simplesmente e aproveite o que a natureza lhe dá.

Heute endlich gute Aussicht(gestern Nebel) und für diese Aussicht hat es sich gelohnt auch zweimal hochzufahren. Klasse Aussichtspunkt in viele Richtungen,mit guten Möglichkeiten für Wanderer und Alle die etwas genießen wollen.

The viewpoint offers great vistas, however the mountains can become misty obscuring the view. We had to make multiple trips to see what the viewpoint had to offer.
A cafe at the top offers refreshment and a place to wait for the clouds to disappear. The weather is a lot cooler up here, so whilst it was warm and sunny on the coast, it was quite cool at the viewpoint. We found that the weather forecasting was very inaccurate here, so it was necessary to take a chance! Stunning when the clouds clear, however, so well worth a trip.

Dort muss man mal gewesen sein. Ein traumhaftes Panorama. Leider war es dieses Mal total neblig. Es gibt ein Restaurant, einen Shop und einen weiteren sehr schönen Laden. Es lohnt sich.

Super-Ausblick bei wolkenlosem Himmel. Höchster Punkt der Algarve mit über 900m. Restaurant, Toiletten und Souvenirshop vorhanden.
Manchmal Schnee im Winter. Dann aufpassen, da etliche ohne entsprechende Ausrüstung auf den Berg fahren.

Mooie locatie, vanwaar je een schitterend uitzicht hebt over de wijde omgeving. Bij helder weer kijk je zo op de oceaan, welke toch zéker 35 a 40 km van je vandaan ligt. Op de weg erheen kom je meerdere restaurants tegen, die een bezoek meer dan waard zijn, heel lekker eten voor een hele schappelijke prijs!

Uitzicht van de hoogste punt van de Algarve. Het viel een beetje tegen, was weinig te beleven op een kleine souvenirs winkel na was er niks te doen. Maar de uitzichten waren mooi en de weg er na toe adembenemend. Ook zijn we via een smalle weg terug na beneden gegaan en die was super en die zou ik aanbevelen. Koeien op de weg en door mooie bossen en avontuurlijke wegen, dat was gaaf.

Gorgeous view of the entire landscape.
Getting up there can be a slightly wild ride, but should be fine as long as you drive slow.
There are plenty of parking spots outside, and there is a small boutique with handcrafted goods, and a small snack bar, too.
Definitely worth it, especially if you take the time to relax a little bit, too!
For the adventurers, there are some well marked hiking trails, too!

Infelizmente é patente na paisagem os incêndios florestais que tem delapidado toda a Serra. Apesar de tudo a paisagem num dia que não tenha nebulosidade vale a pena. Existe uma loja e um café no topo mas na altura que visitei não se encontravam abertos pelo que não posso comentar sobre os mesmos.

Sempre que estou de férias no Algarve gosto de visitar este local. Muito vento é a única nota negativa a apontar. A vista e soberba, não só para a costa algarvia, mas também para a costa vicentina e interior do Algarve. Este ano até podemos contemplar um grupo bovinos a pastar livremente pelo topo da serra. Local muito bom e quase único no Algarve.

With a lovely drive up the mountain there are plenty of places to stop and enjoy the view. I recommend stopping at the viewpoints on the way up as although the view is good from the top we weren't too keen on all the signal towers that took away from the 'natural' aspect of it all. There is a cafe, a small stall serving beer and small craft shop on top. Parking is free outside of the church. There are also prayer rocks that you can add too. We found a nice spot on the way back down with picnic tables, perfect for a packed lunch with an incredible view of the Algarve. Nearby to the small town of Monchique which has a great medieval part and is very pretty, a must see.

Local que deveria ter mais alguma assistência por parte do município. Tem um café/restaurante e duas lojas de artesanato. Tem também uma espécie de eléctrico lisboeta que serve comidas rápidas.

Geweldige wandeling gedaan van meer dan 18km. Het pad was redelijk goed aangegeven. Zelf op de top vind ik het spijtig dat zelfs in het toeristisch hoog seizoen de cafetaria niet wordt geopend en er ook geen toiletten ter beschikking waren. Het zicht zelf is wel magnifiek.

902 m magas, Algarve legmagasabb pontja. Tiszta időben fantasztikus lehet innen mindenfelé a kilátás. Nekünk most nem volt ekkora szerencsénk, elég párás volt az idő. Az idevezető út is élvezetes. Szóval egyszer mindenképp megéri ide feljönni.

Foia bietet bei entsprechendem Wetter mit guter Fernsicht spektakuläre Aussichten auf die Südküste und auf die Westküste. Die Anreise ist kurvenreichen, lohnt sich aber durchaus. Wer den höchsten Berg der Algarve erreicht hat, sollte unbedingt einen Abstecher in das gar nicht so kleine Haus mit den Künstlerateliers machen. Hier werden Töpferarbeiten angeboten, Glaskunstwerke und Keramik. Schöne Unikate, die gar nicht teuer sind und sich vom sonstigen Souvenir-Krempel deutlich abheben. Zu erwähnen ist etwa das auf dem Foto zu sehende, extrem niedliche Keramikschweinchen des Künstlers Leonel. Wir haben zu Hause Küchenkräuter eingesetzt...

La serra de monchique é del territorio Algarvio quello più alto. La Foia si trova a 902m e si può raggiungere in macchina da Monchique. É una montagna in cui si possono fare belle passeggiate e in novembre si possono raccogliere anche le castagne . In inverno fa freddo... Brrr ieri tra il vento e il freddo non sembrava d'essere in Algarve ma anche in primavera o inizio estate se si va su é meglio portarsi una giacca a vento o un kway. Classico punto da gita domenicale la Foia offre un ristorante bar, e un negozio di artigianato locale... Tante antenne che sembra la valcava e un miradouro poco prima di arrivare in cima se volete un po' di acqua sulla strada prima del miradouro c'é una fontana, se volete mangiare tanti ristoranti uno via l'altro

Situada a 900 metros de altitude tem uma vista fenomenal sobre o Algarve.
De lá saem alguns percursos pedestres.
No topo há tb uma área de venda de artesanato local com artigos interessantes.

Las vistas son espectaculares, hay una visión de 360 grados . Hay una cafetería,una tienda de souvenirs , un centro artesanal. Y varios senderos para pasear . Se llega hasta la cima en coche y arriba hay un amplio aparcamiento. Eso sí el aire suele soplar fuerte pero merece la pena subir.

Highest point in the Algarve, affording spectacular views back to the coast. Cafe and local craft/gift shop. Several well marked trails, of varying length if you want to explore the mountains more. Spectacular wildflowers in spring/early summer.
