Awesome restaurant with local twist. The food was fantastic, brilliant service and the owner made us feel like one of the family. Highly recommend this place. I would travel a far just to make this my food highlight of any trip to the Algarve. Not to be missed.

Ich habe noch nie so gut gegessen. Alles frisch und selbst gemacht. Erstklassiger Service... Wer hier nicht zufrieden ist findet nirgendwo das richtige....

This restaurant is out of the way but worth the drive from wherever you are. Be sure to make reservations. Love a message and you will get a response. Owner speaks excellent English. Everything is made to order. Menu changes frequently. This is not a night for run in, at & run out dinner. This is an event not a couple hours as everything is prepared fresh. Food melts in your mouth. If you have a special request or allergy, let them know. Service is excellent. Ambiance of being in an old restored still is amazing. A little on the expensive side for Portugal but you would pay 4 times as much in the US for a comparable meal.

Wow! Was für ein leckeres und liebevolles Restaurant. Sie kochen alles frisch und fast nur mit Zutaten aus dem eigenen Garten - und es war einfach mega lecker. Und ein superfreundlicher Service. Wenn Google 6 Sterne hätte, ich würde sie geben. Definitiv ein Geheimtipp bei fairen Preisen. ♥️

Fabulous experience Wilson our waiter had to many tables, but he worked to keep everyone happy. Wife had the best fish she's ever had. Wine was amazing and dessert was perfect. One of the best restraunts on our trip to Portugal.

Very good restaurant, nice staff. For two we had Saint-Pierre meuniere style and shrimps. Both dishes came with vegetable. The dishes were well presented. The fish was really excellent, the shrimps a bit more average. As dessert I got marinated figs with ice-cream. The figs were really full of flavor. With a bottle of wine, and a starter, we payed 67€. It's a bit on the expensive side in term of quality/price ratio, but still pretty honest.

Toujours mes galettes de pommes de terre avec autant de plaisir, un vrai plaisir de partager avec mon entourage ces délices. Cuisine familiale non portugaise mais à découvrir loin des touristes de masse.

Decepcionante, No entiendo tantas buenas criticas. Cualquier rest. español de un poco de nivel le da mil vueltas. Eso si , la comida perfecta, al punto. Lento y carillo, pero agradable.

Always a great meal. We've visited everytime we have been to Portugal over the last 6 years and it's never disappointed. The different produce 'weeks' are a nice touch (where in season products make up the specials - this week was plum week) but the normal menu is good for me and they are flexible to adjust things to your liking. Will be back... maybe later this week :)

Best restaurant I have been to anywhere in a very long time. We could not make up our minds what to have and asked Marlen, who suggested we have a bit of everything! Time ceased to matter and we all had a lovely evening. In a world obsessed with speed and money these people still understand the meaning of service.

Como sempre muito bom
Já fui ao Alambique múltiplas vezes desde criança e nunca fiquei desiludido
Comi o bife the porco preto com alho que estava divinal
O arroz de feijão que pedi não foi o melhor mas as batatas estavam boas.
Para vegetarianos(minha mulher) fizeram uns legumes salteados que não foram maravilhosos mas ao menos apresentam algumas opções o que não acontece em muitoooooss restaurantes em Portugal.
Pena estar fechado às segundas feiras e não haver alternativa no hotel.
Sugiro haver uma rotação de staff que permita estar aberto 7 dias por semana porque dias fechados já não se usa e num restaurante desta qualidade só faz com que os clientes que não são residentes da zona do fundão fiquei desapontados caso estejam alojados no hotel.

Ganz hervorragendes, “sterneverdächtiges“ Essen einer Deutschen, die das O Alambique seit gut über 15 Jahren führt - mit hervorragender, nicht aufdringlicher, freundlich(st)er Bedienung.
Für jeden mobilen Touri an der westl. Algarve ein Muss, hier zum entspannten Essen und echten Gaumenfreuden hinzufahren!

Yesterday we've been in this beautiful Restaurant. It was Amazing. Perfect trained Waiter, very good Wines and a gorgeous Chef. I eat one of the best Fishes (St. Petersfish) in my life. They also have vegetarian and vegan food. The prices are absolutely ok, 3 persons, 3 starters, 3 main dishes, 1 bottle of wine, 2 litres just 116€. It was an absolutely 5 Star evening. We found this gem on Michelin’s website. It was the highlight of our vacation. We went on a Monday night and there was a live guitarist. He was pretty incredible and it got better. Another guitarist and a saxophone/harmonica/flute/clarinet player joined him. Amazing ambiance. The food was fantastic. Don’t miss the fried goat cheese! The Portuguese style steak was so good - it’s what dreams are made of! This place is definitely worth the drive! Not sure I can do it justice in a short review.

Ten minutes drive from Amendoeira golf club. Very classy..... Lovely restaurant with exceptionally gorgeous food. Been here many times and always a great experience. Celebrated daughter & son-in-law's wedding anniversary here last night. A memorably enjoyable experience for us all......

Perfecte maaltijden. Hartelijke bediening. Wij komen jaarlijks al 6-7 jaar terug en vinden het prijs kwaliteit een heel aanbevelenswaardig restaurant. Één van de betere uit de streek. Top.

Sehr schmackhaftes und frisch zubereitetes Essen. Man spürt und schmeckt mit wieviel Leidenschaft hier gekocht wird.
Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein.
Hier werden mehrere Sprachen gesprochen!
Die Speisekarte ist in englisch, portugiesisch und deutsch.
Werden , wenn wir wieder an der Algarve sind, immer wieder zu Marlen kommen!

Etwas abseits im Hinterland gelegen, erfreut sich dieses Restaurant allergrößter Beliebtheit: es immer gut besucht. An manchen Abenden gibt es Live-Musik. Es spricht für sich, dass die deutsche Betreiberin, die auch seit 20 Jahren selber in der Küche steht, keine Werbung zu schalten braucht. Das Porco preto war einfach nur hervorragend. Das Rinder-Carpaccio hätte besser nicht sein können. Die Gambas im Kokosmantel waren ein Genuss - allerdings sind drei (!) kleine Gambas als Vorspeise wirklich etwas sehr sparsam bemessen. Fazit: Wir werden gerne wiederkommen!

Sehr angenehmes Ambiente und sehr gute internationale Küche zu einem fairen Preis. Marlen aus Vaihingen ist schon seit 20 Jahren im Portugal und versucht ihren Gästen qualitativ hochwertiges Essen zu servieren. Es lohnt sich hierher zu kommen, hat uns unter allen Restaurants die wir besucht hatten mit am besten gefallen.

We zijn hier onverwacht beland doordat we 'even snel' wat wilden eten. Op deze afgelegen plek langs de weg zijn we vriendelijk ontvangen met couverts. Uiteindelijk heb ik een lamsvlees met rozemarijn korst voorgeschoteld gekregen die super lekker smaakte. Dit in combinatie met de groente garnering die perfect gekookt was. Een aanrader dus.

Wonderful kitchen and atmosphere, all the products are truly fresh and cooked outstandingly. The service is very enjoyable: staff is extremely polite and helpful. A chance got us here but we will absolutely come back on purpose once we are as close as 100 km.

This restaurant was really very good. We went on a Monday evening (but you have to book) and there was high quality live music in the form of a drummer and guitarist ... an excellent addition. The owner/front of house did all the table service herself and although she was superb, there needed to be st least one other waiter as wait times got longer as the evening progressed. Food was absolutely excellent, although more than we would normally pay for a holiday meal, with all meat and produce sourced locally. I definitely recommend that you give this restaurant a try ... you will not be disappointed.

Up front, the Alambique is definitely off the beaten track and either a taxi or car journey from the busy Algarve tourist coastline, but one you've got past that 'hurdle' you'll get to experience culinary excellence, freshly-prepared food using only sustainable, GM-free produce and bags of flavour. Chef/owner Marlen has been treating my tastebuds for over fifteen years on every single visit to the Algarve with her particular blend of European contemporary cuisine and classics.
If asked to choose favourites from the long-time staples of the core menu it would have to be:
- house-marinated salmon on rosti or almond-encrusted prawns as a starter
- black pork tenderloin main
- any of her home-made ice creams are delicious
Note there is also a set menu available to accompany the live music nights on Mondays and a weekly-changing specials menu that features an ingredient that is in season (eg quince, cheese, potato, loquat)
So, book yourself a taxi, or even an early train to Poco Bareto, and enjoy a special meal.

Auf Empfehlung von Freunden gestern dort gegessen. Super Service, schönes ambiente, sehr gute Küche mit regionalen Überraschungen. Sehr Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhaeltnis.
Wir sind Heute 50 km gefahren und haben zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit wieder einen herrlichen Abend verbracht.

Ich bin seit 7 Wochen mit meinen Kollegen in der Algarve und haben schon jede Menge Restaurant ausprobiert.
Gestern hatten wir uns spontan entschlossen etwas weiter zu fahren (10 km) und es hat sich mehr als gelohnt.
So sind wir hier im O Alambique gelandet.
Ein sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit einer traumhaften Küche.
Der Service war sehr gut und die Inhaberin (Frau Schmid) macht einen sensationellen Käsekuchen. Eigentlich ist alles zu empfehlen, nur leider hätten wir nicht alles geschafft.
Kein Problem, wir haben gleich beim Gehen, noch einmal reserviert.
Für mich hier in der Algarve das Highlight.
