The very definition of a tourist trap, so highly avoidable. We visited only because it was highly recommended. We ordered squid which was overdone to the extent that they would have served well as tyres on the Formula 1 circuit. The red mullet seemed to have spent an eternity in assorted freezers so by the time it reached our table, any sense of taste or flavour of fish had been completely sucked out of it. We may well have been eating a portion of soggy fries. The cod and chick pea starter was the highlight of the meal. We didn't dare order the dessert. So all in all, the meal and the atrocious serves earns Casa Del Mar a splendid single star!

Buon ristorante, con una parete a vetro dove si può ammirare la spiaggia e il mare. Il tetto è aperto e si possono vedere le stelle, bisogna però portarsi un golfino perchè è freschino. Il cibo è buono ma è un po' caro

Amazing venue with fantastic views as shown in my pic.
Service was superb and friendly. Chap that served me talked me through all options.
Wide range of seafood mostly on the menu, also chicken and steak. I went for seabass accompanied by dry white wine. It was served with new potatoes and a salad. All very nice, waiter removed head of fish (if not to your liking) and boned parts of fish. Must say it looked amazing, but was only above average for the cost.
Fish meal, 1 beer, 1 glass wine cost 40 euros. Shame it was so expensive, but paying for views and service I guess.

The table service was good and food too. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the sea. The tables are too close to each other and feels like you are dining with the people next to you. There's not much privacy.

Nice terrace to view the beach from. We only went in for drinks so sat above the main restaurant. Prices are ok and comparable to some other places we have been to. You are basically paying for the view as food looks to cost more than others without a terrace.

Very clever marketing , do not go here . No menu basically you have to go to the chilled counter to be pitched to which is uncomfortable and creates pressure . Meal average with fillet steak having no taste meaning probably frozen . Finally when we asked for the bill we were told no go to the counter and you will get your price ...meal for 4 no desserts hit form €210 with no bill available to check . All very odd and expensive ...felt ripped off . Never heard of these prices or this approach here before . We saw people walk out ....I wish we would of done the same . Avoid at all costs so many lovely lower cost better quality alternatives

Very good fish restaurant serving meat also, great sea view and friendly staff. Ordered fresh sole which was chosen by myself from a selection of fresh fish, served with potatoes and salad. Very tasty.

This restaurant has one of the best views of Fishermen's Beach. It can be accessed by stairs beside the beach side of the tunnel entrance or off the road above Old Town also accessible by steps at the other end of the tunnel. I had the lunch special of linguini and prawns. The pasta was perfectly cooked. There were ample mid-sized prawns served in red sauce with cherry tomatoes cut in half. With the spectacular view and a delicious meal, what more could you ask?

We only went in dit cocktails with a group of 8. The establishment itself is cosy and trendy and service was excellent. We had Sangria, mocktails and cocktails and they are where superb. Ik had thé opportunity to Taste a new cocktail they where experimenting with and the Combinatieonderdelen of pineapple, almonds, oranges was incredible! Keep up the good work! Great view too

Essen war OK aber zu teuer für die Qualität. Das labern an der Fischtheke könnte man sich auch sparen. Nachtisch sollte Crêpes sein aber war eine riesige Menge schlechter Eiscreme und am Boden des Tellers hat man einen alten und kalten Crêpes gefunden. Muss man nicht besuchen.

Nettes Restaurant mit schmackhaften Salate und Fischkombinationen die man sich vorne im Restaurant auch aussuchen und zusammenstellen konnte. Es schmeckt alles sehr gut und ist auch für das Auge gemacht. Kellner sehr freundlich, vor dem Restaurant steht ein Platzanweiser, der einen zu Tisch führt. Das Restaurant liegt mitten in der Stadt ,über den Tunnel der zum Strand führt und neben dem ältesten Hotel Albufeirars dem "Sol E Mar" . Das Restaurant hat noch eine weitere Etage mit herrlichen Ausblick auf Strandt und Meer.

Excellent fish restaurant in the older part of Albufeira. Also serves excellent meats if you prefer. Fantastic staff and always a warm welcome from the man at front of house who expertly describes the food on offer and always has a smile on his face.

O local é acolhedor, bastante agradável e com uma vista bonita. Mas como restaurante deixa muito a desejar. A comida é normal, mas com preços muito elevados!! Para terem a noção quase 5€ por uma garrafa de 75cl. Tudo em exagero! É daqueles restaurantes que vamos uma vez e não voltamos, infelizmente! Para mim considero especulação de mercado! Enfim!

The price quality ratio was bad. They don't bring menus to the table, you have to walk to the counter where they explain how everything works. We both had swordfish with salad and boiled potatoes (19€/person). My friend found a bug in her food and the potatoes were raw in the middle. When my friend complained about her food the waiter first argued that the bug could have flown in to the dish and then took the plate away and never returned. There was no refund for her meal. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Had a very tasty meal of grilled prawns as starter and grilled tuna filet as the main course. The food is ordered by the fish counter which was a concept that I liked. The chef did however go through what was available in a very robotic manner barely without looking at us. The service and atmosphere was the weak side of the visit. The staff did their job of serving the food but were very hasty and kept coming back to pour our wine and water glasses to the absolute max. The place provides a great view of the sea but other than that it was noisy and not at all cosy. We reserved a table a couple of hours before and got a table for two on the inside at 19:30.

Un sitio con unas vistas espectaculares. La comida estuvo toda muy buena. Lo único malo es que hacía un día muy fresco pero, ni por esas, cerraron las ventanas, por los que comimos con mucho frío.
Trato muy agradable y precio acorde a la comida que ponen. Si estás acostumbrado a ir solo de tapitas y pagar a razón, no vayas. Pero yo no lo considero caro.

A relação qualidade preço não corresponde. Pagamos 49€ por 6 camarões ao alho, uma dúzia de amêijoas, couvert uma garrafa de água e uma cola. O espaço é agradável com uma vista privilegiada para a praia, mas não creio que o valor seja justo. Inicialmente vi o jogo de Portugal no piso superior, onde o mesmo passou em canal inglês e com um atraso de um minuto. Os cocktails sem álcool não são nada de especial. O cocktail Cinderela parece daqueles sumos em pó com água. As cervejas também são caras, 4 euros cada uma. A TV "Big Screen" como anunciavam na rua, não passava de uma TV de 40 ou 42 polegadas. Infelizmente não creio que os cerca de 66€ que gastamos no total tenham sido compensados pela experiência. A única coisa positiva, a atenção e simpatia dos empregados.

Super restaurant. Vraiment très très bonne cuisine ! Lorsque vous êtes sur la plage n'hésitez surtout à monter les quelques marches qui vous mènent à ce délicieux restaurant avec vue imprenable sur l'océan. Des plats maison vraiment plein de saveur. Je recommande vivement!

Loved looking over the beach! Very romantic atmosphere and the food was wonderful! We had mussels and shared a pitcher of sangria! I would go back in a heartbeat! The staff was also very attentive and sweet!

En ce 28 novembre, excellent repas en terrasse, surplombant l'océan. Accueil chaleureux du personnel, une cuisine locale fameuse, un dessert inoubliable, le délice de l'Algarve, gâteau avec farine d'alfaroba, figues et amendes. Félicitations au ... pâtissier.
Je recommande sans réserve.

Amazing food and service. Get to pick your cut of fish by weight etc plus the staff have a vast knowledge and seem to actually want you to know exactly what your eating and paying for. The setting is beautiful with open terrace looking onto the beach, however can get a little noisey on a night from the cocktail bar and piano lounge upstairs but still didnt ruin the atmosphere downstairs.

Comida boa. Staff simpatico. Ambiente e vista otimos. Relativamente aos precos tem de ser mais claros. E tem precos bastante elevados. Mas tendo em conta a zona que é. Ter atencao aquilo que diz na ementa e confirmar com a conta. Para nao haver excessos.

Il ristorante non ha il menu , una volta a tavola dopo un paio di minuti ti fanno alzare , ti portano alla vetrina del pesce fresco per ordinare i tuoi piatti ... ( cosa furba perché non capisci bene quanto spendi ) ... il menu lo trovi sopra al banco dove fai l'ordine ... antipasto e primo buoni nulla di elaborato ... spesa intorno ai 40€ antipasto e secondo acqua e 1 spritz ..
Per me leggermente caro rispetto alle cene fatte a lagos dove mangiando uguale non abbiamo mai sorpassato i 25€ ... forse perché albufeira ha uno standard più alto...

We did not enjoy our experience, we were stood waiting for a while before anyone acknowledged & seated us. Spectacular views over the Ocean. However we felt uncomfortable as the tables are too close together, the couple at the side of us also commented on this. Did not like no table menus, they came & took you to the chilled bar to choose off the menu board off the wall, “for us this was odd & we could see it was causing people to feel under pressure and uncomfortable while choosing their meal” No atmosphere & is very very expensive. We choose to leave before we ate. After reading some other reviews I’m so glad we left before my wallet was emptied.
We went back to Bailote restaurant we ate their the night before fantastic meal and not ripping you off.

El bacalao espectacular.
Pedimos un Botella de vino verde un. Poco subida de precio co. Respecto a la zona.
Pero al final no me pareció muy caro el comer.
La atención de los camareros estupenda.

Los camareros agradables y sabían muchos idiomas. No hay carta fija, te levantan de la mesa para enseñarte los productos en un mostrador y pedirlos en el momento (este sistema no nos gustó mucho). No es barato. Del resto, salimos contentos. Muy buenas vistas, está conectado por unas escaleras con la playa y es buen sitio para cocktails.

Un buen restaurante donde comer o cenar pescado y marisco, tienen un método nuevo almenos para mi, en vez de ofrecer una carta con menú, tienes que levantarte y un señor te dice lo que tienen, te enseña los pescados que tienen frescos y tu pides ahí mismo. Los camareros rápidos y educados, todos saben por lo menos 3 idiomas (español, portugués e ingles). Y unas vistas desde la cubierta externa de la costa.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s worth every cent. You get to choose a fresh fish starter and a fresh fish main. I was lucky enough to have an ocean view seat which made the experience even better. The staff was lovely and very informative.

Casa del Mar is a really nice restaurant located in the historic centre of Albufeira away from the noisy streets. I had fish for starter and main and I can guarantee it was fresh and tasty.
The nice view is the cherry on the cake. I would definitely go back and recommend it to my friends and family.

Todo lo que pedimos buenísimo, buena calidad y trato inmejorable. Las vistas a la playa de los pescadores espectaculares. De los mejores lugares en los que hemos comido en nuestro viaje a Portugal. Lo recomiendo son duda.

Food was lovely although service was extremely slow it took over 20 minutes to get a menu and then we were asked to go back outside to choose from the board as they dont do menus at the table

Nice place, service excellent, outstanding view... but for entre they serve industrial, out of supermarket, sardine pate. That's big minus for restaurant of that level (especially if we consider their pricing).

Food was very average, in my opinion it’s not worth the money as it was extremely expensive. You’ll need to pay around 3 euros per person for bread ?! - seafood was fresh which was great however the sides that came with it were bland.
The view is amazing so if you’d like to sit by a rooftop terrace overlooking the sea then this place is for you.
It’s a bit of a tourist trap when it comes to prices however if you have money to spend then go for it!

Hoy hemos comido muy bien en Albufeira, hemos dado por casualidad en un paseo con La Casa del Mar, aparte de unas vistas espectaculares del Atlántico y la playa de Albufeira...unos platos excepcionales, variados y de calidad, cosa rara en estos lugares tan saturados de turismo europeo...os dejo una muestra...!!!

Abends ohne karte essen nur an die Theke kann man sich essen aussuchen ..sich richtig erkundigen was kosstet Fisch fur alleine oder zu zweit nicht ganz bilig ..aber gute frische essen gute bedinung wenn man gluck hat und am Fensterplatz sitzt tolle aufsicht ..von Bedinung eine spricht auch Deutsch

- Am Eingang wird man belästigt und sofort angequatscht.

Nice steak and tuna but ruined by salty sauce. Poor service. There are other restaurants nearby which offer better cuisine and better value for money. Disappointing given high star reviews posted by others.

Great meal here. Staff were really friendly. Menu was fresh, by viewing the fish counter. We had squid and prawns for starter, lobster for mains and caramel mousse for desert. Everything was really tasty and well presented.

Nous avons mangé une Cataplana de poissons et fruits de mer. C était copieux et délicieux pour un prix tout à fait raisonnable. Le service était parfait rapide et à l écoute.
La terrasse jardin est divine il fait bon et frais.

Нас пытались обсчитать в этом ресторане. Добавили в счёт лишнюю бутылку вина и видимо надеялись, что мы не заметим. Было очень неприятно. Странные цены на рыбу в кг. Размеры приготовленной рыбы были намного меньше указанных в чеке (вес рыбы). Кальмары жареные на гриле были подгорелыми и резиновыми. Десерт на удивление был вкусным, но он уже не спас. Покинули регистран в очень плохом настроении. ..

Restaurant avec une très belle vue.
Nous avons plutôt bien mangé, par contre il n'y a pas de carte le soir, nous sommes obligé de nous lever pour aller voir la carte affiché au dessus du comptoir.
Nous avons trouvé l'addition un peu excessif.

Super tasty steak and fish! Amazing view out over the water to enjoy while eating. Staff incredibly friendly :) Shared entrée, two mains and two drinks were £60. Definitely recommend

Just had lunch here.. the best steak I have ever had! Cooked to perfection! Also had the prawn risotto which was also delicious! Staff were attentive and very helpful! Definitely a must if in Albufeira! Trying to work out when I can return!

Stopped here for lunch with the family. 6 people incl. 2 kids. Shared the shellfish rice special, grilled squid and some appetizers. All were really good and the service friendly. Prices were ok given the location and what a view!

Had the best steak I've ever had here. Every meal was cooked to a high standard and though the menu is limited, don't let that discourage you from what is a great place to dine. Food was quite expensive but with it being cooked so amazingly i couldn't argue.
Definitely a place everyone should experience when in old town

Wonderful Service. Good Food. We only had a day in Albufeira before having to catch a flight back home. So we had our luggage with us. We asked if they could look after our belongings whilst we chilled at the beach. They did! Amazing. We booked the table for later on in the evening and managed to enjoy what Albufeira had to offer. We tried the Mix Fish Kebab and it was lovely, we also had the Portuguese Steak which was really nice too. The total bill came up to 67Euros. We both had a cocktail and a coffee to end the meal. Bruno our waiter was top notch, polite and genuinely wanted us to have a good time. Recommendations all round. Oh and they even booked us a cab to the airport!

Food very over priced especially for basic grilled fish and new potatoes. Sea Bass was 45 euro for 2 persons. Only got one half of fish each. No real child free options so kids had adult meals. Views are nice from terrace over looking sea.
Don't think I'd return though as not worth the 140 euro bill at the end.

I shall start with the fact that the food and service here is really good. They play the usually Portuguese restaurant game of giving you water before you have really asked for it.... 4.50 euros. They ask if you want bread and olives but again don't tell you its 4.50 euros. They don't have a menu you have to go to to the front counter to have all the fish options explained to you but not the prices. This place is expensive but I will finish where I started by saying the food is really good.

Good service, great with a 2 year old - pricier than others but there is a lovely atmosphere and the food is better than the touristy restaurants on the sea front
