Would recommend this restaurant as an alternative to the busy touristy ones. Cool and charming, the service was exceptional and very good value for money. Would definitely go again.

Great food and service! The restaurant was quiet but don’t be fooled by that, the food is excellent and felt very welcome with personal attention from Joaquim, the owner. He is extremely friendly, helpful and had all the time in the world for us.

Thoroughly enjoyed the well prepared food. Although the restaurant was quiet (being off season) the ambiance was excellent. The owner, Joaquim Antonio gave us his undivided personal attention. Highly recommended

Ein Geheimtipp! Sehr versteckt in einer Hintergasse, aber die Suche lohnt sich. Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend, die Bedienung ist sehr herzlich und es ist nicht von Touristen überlaufen.

Sehr herzliche Bedienung und abseits von den Massen an Touristen. Einfache aber sehr gute landestypische Küche mit frischen Zutaten. Daher kommen sicherlich auch die sehr fairen Preise.

Amazing food, with fresh ingredients and very fairly priced. The service was spectacular and the owner makes you feel home, with very lovely attention. Way better alternative than the more expensive, touristic, restaurants in town!

Friendly Family Run Portugese Restaurant
Tasted our first shellfish cataplana last night, lovely fresh succulent clams, mussels, shrimps, king prawns, tiger prawns, spider crab claws in a delicious fragrant sauce. Cooked by the wife who is also an artist and displays her works for sale.

Polo que vin é do pouco que queda no centro da Albufeira que aínda manténse auténtico e, se cadra, algo enxebre. A mágoa é, supoño máis para eles, é que o rúa na que están non é moi visible. Semella negocio familiar de sempre.
Os pratos aceptables, ricos e debidamente explicados polo camareiro.

This place is a nice find in Algarve. Olives are fresh to great you and Cataplana was the best that I tried in Albufeira. It is not crowded and is usually empty during lunch time due to place being on a side street rather than main tourist road. Which I like. You can sit down, relax and enjoy nice food. Yhe shellfish cataplana is the one to try here. Oh, and a restaurant owner is a really cool guy, communicative and speaks well in English.

Top restaurant. Eigenaar heeft passie. Komt chaotisch over maar heeft alles in de hand. Eten is voortreffelijk, normale porsies. Lekker achteraf en geen irritante propper die je lokt en geen interesse meer in je heeft als klant/gast. Zelf ben ik nogal kritisch m.b.t. restaurants, maar bij Dom zit je rustig, anoniem en gewaardeerd als gast

I'm so glad we found this restaurant. We were struggling to find an authentic Portuguese restaurant in the area during our short stay. We ate here twice and on both occasions, the owner was friendly and welcoming. The food was very tasty and affordable.

We found this place by accident as it is away from the seafront and we are so glad we did. The owner is a lovely man and he looked after us so well but also, he was not too intrusive and told us to take our time at the end even though we were the last people. The prawn starter was delicious and the steaks were perfect. This is a great place

Ein familiengeführter Geheimtipp bester portugiesischer Küche. Trotz der versteckten Lage sollte man dieses Restaurant nicht verpassen. Es lohnt sich!!!

Just perfect. Owner served us personally and he's had the place for 10 years now. House wine only 7.5€ a bottle and it's really good.
We ate with a group of 8.

bardzo przyjemna knajpka! miła atmosfera, dobre jedzenie! jedliśmy kurczaka piri piri i tuńczyka w stylu portugalskim właściciel zagrał dla nas fado na gitarze :) byliśmy w 5 osób i nikogo więcej.. szkoda, że tak mało osób. polecam bardzo!

Amazing food, and incredible hospitality. This place should be on everyone's radar. Huge portions, great authentic flavors, top notch experience. Nothing fancy, just a local "off-the-path" place. But 5 stars are not enough.

Amazing place. Owner was so friendly and great with our 2 young kids. Food excellent. Had the clams and seafood catapalana. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. 5 stars!

Very nice! Excellent food and taste.
We (couple) stayed in albufeira for 4 nights. 3 times we went there to have dinner. Tried something on the „main“-roads where every tourist normally goes. It was low-middle skilled kitchen. So we went again to our famous restaurant. Absolutely recommend. :-)

Arriver tôt, car ils ne sont pas nombreux et le restaurant se rempli vite. Cependant, accueui excellent et en français.
Tarifs abordables.
Loup de mer excellent, déception sur le poulet piri piri et les frites surgelées qui l'accompagnées.

El mejor restaurante de albufeira centro. El único con comida portuguesa real y exquisita. La familia que lo lleva muy agradable. Cuando hay mucha gente son un poco lentos porque es un negocio familiar pero merece la pena. Nosotras hemos ido todas las noches desde que lo descubrimos. Si quieres un restaurante auténtico un poco alejado de la zona inglesa y a un precio razonable, está es la mejor opción. Muchas gracias por todo

A hidden gem! One of the few authentic places in the centre of Albufeira. The cataplana is outstanding and the service is very warm and welcoming. It's also rather reasonably priced, don't be afraid to take the house wine, it's really good, especially for 7,50 a bottle.

Une vraie honte pour le Portugal. Pensant éviter les restos attrape touristes, ce resto au détour d'une ruelle me correspondait bien. Quelle erreur. En entrant nous étions comme invisible. Le personnel (père et ses 2 enfants)occupé derrière leur comptoir à passer des instructions ne se sont nullement manifesté. Nous avions forcé le contact en désignant une table libre. C'était le premier contact en 30 min. Et oui,car le patron est venu tout penaud nous expliquer que c'était un peu dur pour lui (Je lui conseille de changer de métier ).bref
La carte n'était pas à jour. Malheureusement nous avons choisi pour ce qui ne se faisait pas. Nous nous sommes rabattu sur un poulet piri piri. Dommage, il était plutôt mini mini accompagné de frites surgelées. Rien d'extraordinaire. Avec un vin de cubi sans plaisir.
Le calvair fut royal au moment de payer. La machine pour les cartes bleues faisait des siennes.
Pour finir. Nous étions en souffrance autant que le patron qui faisant son possible. ces enfants nous ne les avons jamais entendu adresser la parole aux clients. Des vrais boulets.
Plus jamais ça!!!

Se encuentra en una pequeña calle saliendo del bullicio de la Albufeira. De lo más tradicional que puedes encontrar por la zona.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Traditionelle, portugiesische Gerichte und zuvorkommendes Personal. Etwas versteckt in einer Seitengasse, ab vom Touri-mainstream. Sehr gerne wieder :)

Deserves a better location, as the food is excellent. Get a street map from the tourist information office, it is worth the effort. Black pig is our favourite!

Where do I start. Albufeira has become a tourist trap, the restaurants seem to only cater to the British. We wanted authentic portuguese food and found this place just hidden in a corner of the old town. It was empty and honestly I don't understand why, maybe I do. The food was amazing we ordered the shellfish catapalana and it was spectacular. Food is made fresh too order so be patient. Our waiter was the owner himself, he was kind and polite and took his time too discuss some wine options as we did ask. I wouldn't go back to albufeira it has no Portugese culture too it aside from this place. It's a must try, great wine selection, service and food.

We ate here hoping it would not be one of the tourist places. I guess it is not, we were the only ones. The prices were low but the food was also. I had salmon with potato and vegetables, the potato was dry and the vegetables were watery and overcooked. My friend had a steak, it was fried, instead of grilled. So all in all it was not worth even the cheap price. But the waitress was very nice.

Le patron est charmant, il vous dit d'attendre déjà d'entrée de jeu mais vous ne savez déjà pas combien de temps. La cuisine, soit disant typique, ne l'est pas du tout. Les toilettes hommes n'ont pas de lumière, les toilettes femmes n'ont pas de papier. Et à la fin vous risquez de trouver un gros cafard, soit dans votre sac, soit à votre pied; photo a l'appui.

Loved this restaurant! Found out about it on culture trip as part of their top 10 restaurants in the Algarve. Away from all the tourists. Laid back, relaxed atmosphere with impeccable service. We were recommended the meat cataplana... Very glad we tried this. Just delicious! The meat was really tender and the sauce was subtle but very tasty. Try the garlic bread too! Fantastic restaurant!

Simple and quiet from the main restaurants. We found it on the way to the beach. Nice cool breeze to quickly stop off for some wine and food. The food was okay. Good omelette. Average prices
