We had such a great time here! Beautiful view and we tried the seafood cataplana for the first time. Tasted soooo good! And besides that the staff was very helpful AND entertaining. Would recommend this place to everyone!!

What an amazing restaurant! It is situated beautifully with the most spectacular views. The service was amazing, they where not just polite but even entertaining. The staff really knows how to get a smile on your face. And the food.. wauw the food.. just perfect. The cataplana was super fresh and tasted great. Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience!

We stumbled upon this place when walking in the nice stone walkway on the cliff tops west of the restaurant. It’s February so not too many places open so we decided to give it a try for dinner. It was a bit quiet but the service and food was excellent. They had a kid play area outside that kept our twin four year olds entertained until dinner arrived, while we observed them from the floor above. A nice, friendly, unpretentious place on the patio area, and a nice cozy, cute place on the inside.
We really enjoyed a seafood dish for two that was full of tasty shrimp, langoustine, monkfish, mussels and clams. Served piping hot in a steel bowl, it was hearty and satisfying. Kids ate standard fare from the kids menu.
Decent value at €100, including two starters, main course for two, two kids meals, one dessert and a bottle of wine and tip. Happy we found it, 5 stars!

Nous somme 2 jeune français en vacanse à portimao
Nous avons manger 2 fois dans se restaurant et c'est parfait que se soit l'accueil la vu magnifique la nourriture ou le personnel
On ne parle pas du tous portugais mais ils s'adapte avec politesse

Visited here today with family. Food was good but a little expensive for what we had. Service though was good and the staff are friendly. We had a little difficulty being a family with 4 adults, 2 adolescents and a new baby, but staff coped well allowing the pram alongside the table and provided a high chair. Though it was a little large for baby as it had no straps and baby wanted to slide under the bar. In addition they have a baby changing room on site which was a real bonus when baby had one of those smelly accidents. Definitely family friendly.

A restaurant with an outstanding location and vibe and fantastic food; "Cataplana de Marisco" - "Seefood medley" is trully amazing - ending with a homemade "applestrudel" for a dessert. Fabulous staff; imediately after we sat, we received a live preview on the fish of the day platter, so we could decide. Had a perfect dinner, while literally listening to the waves. Definately recommending and coming back. 5 stars easy.

Pedimos mejillones a la marinera y nos dieron una pequeña ración de 8 mejillones por 10€, el cordero asado era oveja y no tenia buen sabor. Nos querían cobrar por el pan con mantequilla casi 4,50€. Muy caro relación calidad precio

Magnifico lugar para comer, muy buenas vistas de la playa de Rocha. Yo fui con mi mujer e hijo y pedimos brocheta de pescado y marisco, unas gambas de entrante un bistec y todo buenisimo,luego los postres tambien deliciosos, ahhh, el menu infantil con lo justo q le gusta a los peques y de cantidad bastante bien. 100% recomendable.

Fantastica posizione. Si può ammirare tutta la spiaggia. Il responsabile di sala Suvarius, molto gentile e simpatico. Il cibo è ottimo. Io ho ordinato lo spiedino di pesce che comprendeva merluzzo gamberi e salmone con verdure. Il mio ragazzo il cataplano ricco di gamberi vongole e cozze.
Tutto veramente squisito. Noi siamo andati al tramonto quindi non abbiamo avuto problemi nel trovare un tavolo libero. Ma dopo una 30ina di minuti era già pieno.
L'unica pecca sono le attese. Ma ne vale la pena.

Eu, a minha companheira, filho recém-nascido e sogros decidimos ir jantar fora na praia da rocha. Escolhemos este restaurante baseado nos bons reviews. Quando chegámos ao restaurante esperámos à entrada por um funcionário para nos indicar uma mesa ou para nos dizer o tempo de espera até uma mesa vazar. Ninguém se dirigiu a nós apesar de haver pelo menos 6 funcionários a atender. Quando a minha esposa se dirigiu a um dele (mais precisamente meteu-se à frente dele pois este mais uma vez ia passar sem! dizer nada), aprontadamente nos disse que "hoje vai ser muito dificil" e seguiu em frente sem dizer mais nada.
Por nós tudo bem, fomos jantar a outro lado e a casa deixou de fazer umas dezenas de euros.
Em relação a este restaurante, apenas sugiro que haja mais simpatia e atenção por parte dos funcionários. Somos nós, os clientes, que fazem a casa. E tudo o que isso implica.

Llegamos a este lugar por las reseñas que tenía y la cercanía hasta donde nos encontrábamos. Nada más llegar, nos encantaron las vistas, increíbles aún más si llegas al atardecer. Es comida portuguesa/mediterránea, no sabíamos muy bien qué pedir y nos dejamos aconsejar por un servicio muy amable. La comida es exquisita y tienen un producto de calidad. Nos gustó tanto que repetimos, fuimos a probar la famosa cataplana de marisco portuguesa. No nos defraudaron, además el precio es muy asequible. Habrá una tercera ocasión, sin duda.

We wanted to visit this place for the big evening dinner , but before to check it out during the day and try some drinks and snacks. Waiter asked us to get out because "its a restaurant. If you do not eat u should leave". Well, you just lost 3 clients that would spend A LOT money for propper dinner. Stupid

Un'ottima cena in un posto meraviglioso.
Il locale si affaccia su Praia da Rocha (bella e nota spiaggia a Portimao), ha una vista suggestiva soprattutto dall'ampia terrazza all'aperto. Abbiamo cenato dopo aver prenotato ma non è un locale troppo affollato; abbiamo preso due antipasti (un'ottima zuppa di verdure e un antipasto misto della casa), due piatti unici (straordinaria camarata di pesce con patate e una buona bistecca di maiale, accompagnata da gamberetti, insalata e patatine), due dolci e acqua; 57€ totali sono un buon prezzo considerando ciò che abbiamo mangiato, la vista, il personale davvero cordiale.
Assolutamente consigliato per chi visita Portimao e vuole godersi una cena magari dopo una passeggiata sui faraglioni a picco sulla spiaggia.

Hatte irgendwo gelesen man solle reservieren, haben aber trotzdem spontan einen tollen Platz mit einer perfekten Aussicht übers Meer bekommen.
Personal ist wahnsinnig nett und schnelle Bedienung.
Das essen war grandios, sowohl fürs Auge, als auch geschmacklich. Den Weißwein kann ich empfehlen :)
Wir waren Mitte Juni da, bei tollem Sommerwetter (bezüglich Schwierigkeiten einen Platz zu bekommen)

Außerhalb der „normalen“ Zeiten um 16 h freundlich begrüßt, obwohl nur noch 1 Tisch besetzt war. Das Essen einfach Klasse und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Alles zu zivilen Preisen. Und zum Schluss ein „kleiner Schnaps“ (siehe Fotos!!) vom Haus. Serviert in einem XXXXL Glas. Das hat Stil. Eins der ganz wenigen Restaurants mit einen Traumblick auf den Strand und die Felsformationen. Für Kinder wurde extra ein kleiner Spielplatz eingerichtet.

Precios baratos y muy buena calidad. Luz natural y las vistas son una maravilla y el menu es bueno y el precio ajustado. Cuando te dan la carta tienes las dos opciones y en todos los idiomas, no como en otros restaurantes de la zona. En cuanto a la atención una maravilla. Camareros super atentos en todo momento y muy amables y educados. La verdad es que hemos quedado muy contentos.

There were four of us for dinner. Soares was our server. He made the whole experience so wonderful. He just knows how to make people feel at home. The food and service were excellent. The evening sky as the sun set was beautiful. We were celebrating a birthday and there was no cake with a candle but a wonderful liqueur shared by all. When I get back to Potimaio I will be visiting this restaurant again.

Even with a nearly empty place, We were kicked out as we have not been sure if we wanna eat something: „it is the rule of our house.“ the rule itself is fine, if you communicate it not so unfriendly and cafe about your potential guests. We went to the place next and have been welcomed with a big smile instead.

Had shrimp starter 7 large prawns in garlic was very nice 9E , wife had salmon came with veg and potatoes about 14E , I had catopala a potugal dish mixed seafood 23E for one, very filling and tasty. So food and price about average for this area wine was not bad at 14E a bottle , service was ok but but I think they need to allocate one person to an area as 4 different people serve us , bill turned up as we where still eating which we did not ask for , when I asked for coffee they realised there mistake and apologise. After staying two weeks in this area i would highly recommend getting a taxi to Alvor and eating at the fisherman's Rest restaurant near the waters edge , they do a litre of house wine for under 9E and the fish is cooked on an open grill for all to see amazing sea bass cost around 40E and feeds two people best fish we have ever eaten , or go for the sardines amazing.

Lovely food at reasonable prices. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Menus are in several different languages. For me even better than all of that was the scenery. Overlooking the sea and at sunset no less. It was magical. We will be back again for sure.

This place is the best thing that happened to us at the Algarve so far. Bring some time, have some wine with the entrée and enjoy the beautiful view while waiting for the main dish - it takes some time, but it's worth it. We had arroz de marisco for 2, it was amazing! Also try the orange mousse as a dessert - not too heavy, with a fresh taste of orange that melts on your tongue...very delicious. Nice service as well!

Nous sommes venus en famille, un dimanche soir, en plein mois d'août, sans réservation et nous avons été merveilleusement accueilli !! We have visited Praia da Rocha many times, and we always go to Casa da Rocha, it is our favourite restaurant in the area, and there are many great restaurants there! In Casa da Rocha there is always a selection of fresh fish, caught that day. The staff are knowledgeable about the produce and the menu, they are friendly, helpful and always make you feel welcome. During the day there are beautiful views over the beach, not to be missed!

I would love to say that this place was good, that the food was fabulous, that the service was spectacular. However, upon arrival, we were put at a table for 2, there was 3 of us, the maitre d was welcoming but after he seated us, he seemed to have forgotten about us! The table had a plastic sign informing people that there can be a delay in getting your food as it is cooked fresh to order, which is perfectly acceptable. After sitting and waiting for 30 minutes +, I finally grabbed the attention of the maitre d who told me someone will be with me to take our order..........no one came, even though the staff was plentiful, no one even asked us what we would like to drink. All the while, people entering after us had had their orders taken and were tucking into their starters. We left and while leaving, the maitre d only said sorry to us. The place was not busy and there was plenty of staff, so no, you cannot apologise for such shabby service. Avoid this place and go across the road to the Mercado restaurant.

This place is amazing. Food is so good. Everything seemed fresh and perfect. It all came out at a normal time, not sure what these other reviewers are talking about. And the staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved it so much we went back the next night. Not sure I ever had better seafood.

Hemos venido a comer porque la opinión era muy buena, personal ausente en todo momento sin controlar si las mesas necesitan alguna cosa.
Asombrada de la falta de profesionalidad y atención al cliente. Creo que lo mas importante es tener a los clientes atendidos.
Nos han vendido muy bien el pedir pescado fresco, hemos elegido Lubina de 1.200 kg y un lenguado a la menier. Pero al momento de servir ni nos han dado la opción de emplatarnos el pescado preparandolo ellos, como categoria que creiamos que tenia.
El pescado muy bueno.
Ahhhh ¡¡¡¡ una ensalada de tomate con mozzarela y salsa pesto 7,80 € un desproposito de precio : 4 cortes tomate "carpaccio de tomate" 4 cortes de mozzarela y una pizca de salsa pesto.
Para pagar esperando 15 minutos hasta que hemos ido a buscar nosotros el camarero.
NO lo recomendare.

Personal poco atento, no están pendientes de si falta algo en la mesa. Precio elevado para la cantidad de comida que ponen.
El pescado fresco estaba muy bueno, pero hay detalles que fallan en el restaurante.
Si vas un día que tienes una hora marcada para otro sitio no es el sitio idoneo.
Calidad-precio para mi no es lo que lo describe.

Magnifico restaurante con preciosas vistas sobre la playa de Rocha.
Pedimos para cenar una cataplana de mariscos y el camarero nos dijo que no pidiéramos nada más pues era más que suficiente para los dos.
Y así fue. Magnifico plato de mariscos y rape que estaba delicioso, repetimos 3 veces y que sólo nos dejó hueco para un postre a medias.
Recomendable, además en un lugar acogedor y con magnificas vistas.

Request for a clean napkin, replacement knife accidentally dropped on floor ignored.
Request for more information about a fish dish answered with “read the menu”.
Shame that this has gone downhill so much.
We shall not be coming back which, after 30 years, says something.
We did not feel welcome.
Fortunately there are many more restaurants who realize the value of providing good service.

El restaurante está bien. El trato es muy bueno. Los precios algo más elevados que otros de la zona. Muy buenas vistas desde las mesas. La comida está bien, pero el arroz caldoso, estaba bien pero no tiene nada que ver con los arroces de nuestra zona. No puedo valorar por tanto ese tipo de arroz pero estando bueno, no cumplió mis expectativas.

We had a lovely meal here tonight to celebrate my birthday. My husband and I had the sea bass which was absolutely delicious. My son had grilled salmon and he said that it was the best salmon he had ever tasted. Lovely friendly and quick service. Beautiful views of the setting sun over the bay. Fabulous. We will return. Wir waren mit der ganzen Familie abends essen. Super freundlicher und sehr bemühter Service! Das Essen war durchweg von sehr guter Qualität. Die Cataplana für zwei ist sehr zu empfehlen! Der Weißwein aus dem Vorort Alvor passte hervorragend dazu. Wir haben insgesamt für uns vier 90€ bezahlt. Der Meerblick krönte den Besuch.

Très bel endroit face à la mer avec des prix abordables. Un petit coin aménagé pour les enfants jusqu'à 3ans est un vrai plus. Ils servent de bon plats traditionnels mais aussi des burgers ce qui est très pratique avec des enfants. Le service était irréprochable. Je recommande vivement cet endroit!

A lovely little gem, amidst a sea of mostly blah touristy restaurants. The vibe of this place is warm and inviting, which matches the equally impressive ocean view. The service was spectacular, and the waiters all genuinely seemed to be having fun, which made the experience all the more enjoyable!
While the entree fish of the day was only so-so, it was nonetheless prepared with care. I did rather enjoy the homemade chocolate mousse, especially when was paired with Aguardente de Medronhos, an Algarve regional speciality appertif. Do try it, as it's truly a small window into local culture.

Superbe cadre, face à la mer, pour des tarifs plus que corrects.Équipe serviable qui fait l'effort de parler français. Dès l'apéritif, ils proposent les poissons frais du jour. J'ai pris une dorade (un peu petite à mon goût mais succulente avec petits légumes 15€ ). Seul petit bémol pour moi (mais propre au Portugal Et il faut se l'avouer aux exigence françaises ), le dessert.

Excellent meal at Casa da Rocha! The special with the fish is delicious, we got the sharing one which was enormous. The atmosphere inside was very calm and relaxing and the service was perfect. Atención inmejorable. Dueño muy agradable. Arroz de marisco de gran calidad y precios en la media del Algarve portugués a pesar de estar en uno de los lugares más privilegiados de la región: justo en lo alto uno de los acantilados de Praia da Rocha. La experiencia ha sido inigualable y, sin duda, si visito de nuevo Portimão o al rededores, volveré a visitarlo.

Fuimos fuera de temporada, estaba medio vacío, tardaron mucho en atendernos, pedimos algo de concha que no estaba mal, y una lubina, te la cobran al peso, la cobraron al precio de langostas por lo menos y luego al hacerla la dejaron totalmente pasada de punto, tremendamente seca. Para los precios que hay en el país y lo bien que se come desde luego no acertamos en absoluto , lo elegimos por la puntuación de que tenía en internet que desde luego no comparto en absoluto, desde mi experiencia en este establecimiento no lo recomiendo de ningún modo, eso si las vistas son muy buenas puesto que la terraza da al mar

Muito mau , depois de estar a ligar desde as 19h e ninguém atender ...chego ao restaurante as 20h45 pergunto se têm mesa para 8 pessoas o funcionário diz que não tem mesa , disse-lhe que estava a ligar para o restaurante Desde as 19h , o funcionário com arrugancia diz que não atendem o telefone .
Não ter mesa e bom sinal para o restaurante , agora proponho que titirem o número de tlf da net para não estarem a enganar as pessoas que querem marcar mesas , não ir ao restaurante por engano .
Falta de proficionalismo .

The food was a bit of a let down. The shrimps were overcooked. The lamb was ok. The view is great at sunset so that still made it a nice dinner. They only take reservations for other days.
We paid 30 euro per person for a starter and main meal which we think was definitely not worth it for the food but again the view is great.

Great view, but the whole place is impersonal. In addition it wasn't too nice from them that they brought us appetizers even though we didn't ask for it, we thought it was on the house, but they added it to the bill (an extra 4 euros).

Très bon rapport qualité prix! Il faut compter 25euros par personne pour le couvert, le plat, le dessert et les boissons non alcoolisées. La vue sur l'océan est magnifique!

Amazing food, amazing view, wonderful and friendly staff. This was one of the best fish dinners I've EVER had (and we live in New York, no shortage of good restaurants there). Our entire dinner was €78, fish entree for 2 with sides, shrimp appetizer, bread and dips, spiced oil, my husband had 2 beers and I had a water. Compared to other restaurants in this touristy area this actually isn't bad at all.

Fantastic view, had a seafood hot pot with HUGE shrimp, monkfish, clams, muscles and potatoes in a garlic and tomato sauce (Amazing- mouthwatering thinking about it) and a bottle of house red. Prices reasonable enough , service was good, house red was ok. If you can get a table on the balcony to watch a sunset, it will be hard to find a more beautiful spot

Just went there around 1pm to have some drinks. Although the restaurant was almost completely empty they refused to serve us. "Only food, no drinks solely", we were told. Not very customer friendly, completely the opposite of what we experienced so far, here at Algarve.

I never got to experience the restaurant as I was traveling solo and wanted to start with a glass of wine to enjoy the view, with dinner order after. I was informed they were a restaurant and not a bar and could not serve me. So I asked, if I order food now then can I get a glass of wine? No they didn't have a bar, the man said. And yet, according to reviews on here, they most certainly serve drinks. I feel as though I was turned away as I was traveling solo? I don't know. It was all quite off.

Lage top, Personal allerdings extrem unfreundlich. Obwohl Restaurant nur halb besetzt, wurde uns der Zutrjtt um 14:30 Uhr verwehrt, mit der Begründung, es gäbe nur Platz für Gäste die essen würden.

Looks very touristy, but good and service are top level. Great for seafood and the Sunday lamb roast is hugely popular. Great views from the covered terrace. Port served in a gigantic glass is offered at the end - good photo opportunity.

This was a bit of a disappointment really. Really nice views tho. Hopefully this season they get them selfs back on track as reports said this placed used to be amazing.
