La comida muy mala, el precio muy caro, cuidado con el pollo al piripiri. La encargada o propietaria es grosera incluso con los empleados. Lo único bueno el sitio, con unas buenas vistas, y el camarero que nos atendió que fue muy agradable. NO VUELVO A IR MÁS.

Nice scenery! We have been there for dinner. They serve a variety of catch of the day, fresh and perfectly grilled. Very polite service as well! We highly recommend the restaurant.

I have read quite a few reviews after having lunch at this place. Views are very nice and picturesque. Apart from this, the place is an absolute shambles, very reminiscent of Fawlty Towers except without the comedic presence. I had been there 2 days before and had a few drinks, which was nice, when asking for the bill from the waiter it didn't come. My family had left 20 minutes beforehand so I decided enough was enough and went to the counter to pay. It took another 15 minutes before I could get the owner to even come over. I paid but wasn't happy with the service, but hoped it was a one off. Lo and behold 2 days later we did go back, I wanted to go to Praia de Gale but they had some work going on there and went back to the Castelo. My family and I took a seat, the place had another family there and that was all that was in the place. The two waiters that were working walked by 20 times without checking if we needed a drink to start and when they did serve it was the other family at the other table. So the "owner" walked past and I had to almost stop her in her tracks to get a drink. We got our drinks, then said we would like to order some food. Once ordered it took over an hour to finally get it as the 2 waiters and the owner were having lunch in the restaurant. The only reason I think we finally got it was because I had to ask where our food was. Finally the food came and it was mediocre at best, not anywhere near matching the prices they charged. This time I didn't ask for the bill, I just went to the counter. They had problems with their software so I read the bill off the computer. I then proceeded to tell the "owner" that the service was a shambles and we waited a hell of a long time to get any service. (There was another couple walked in while we were eating and they still hadn't had a drink in front of them, half an hour later). I tried to give constructive criticism but she got offended. I told her that we waited an hour to get any food and were starving while they were eating inside in front of their customers. Now everyone is entitled to eat and have a break, but I believe in the restaurant industry the patrons should come first as we are the paying customer, but you may eat where and when you please. To the "owner", customers come first and foremost as this is what keeps your restaurant open. When someone comes in they would like to feel welcomed, not looked at as another tourist that they can rip off and ignore. The waiters were actually very nice and apologetic, the "owner" on the other had should take some lessons in manner and discretion for dealing with the public. Avoid at all if possible, unless you have lots of euros to spend because that's the only way you'll get good service.

Please note Pic Nic is under new ownership from 2019. This review reflects this. I visited the restaurant for a quiet beer each time me and my wife came to the beach. Although I didn't eat here I could clearly see the standard of food is set very high and did look delicious. Predominantly fresh fish. Very friendly and courteous staff. Das einzig Tolle ist die Lage am Strand. Die beiden Fleischgerichte waren leider das schlechteste Essen, an das wir ins erinnern koennen. Wir mussten noch lange aufstoßen. Als Beilage gab es fuer 13€ nur Pommes UND Reis. Kein Salat wie auf den Fotos. Fürs gleiche Geld kann man auch ein hervorragendes Menü in Armacoa am Strand bekommen.

We came to this bar 3 times in a week and loved it. We ate, drank and played cards all through the day while enjoying the views south towards Northern Africa imagining Casablanca just over the horizon. Prices are a little higher than further away from the beach but that is to be expected due to its amazing location.

Mi spiace per coloro che non si sono trovati bene: per me è stato meraviglioso!!! Certo, sono lenti, ma in questo Paese la tavola è un piacere e quindi i ritmi più lenti. Dunque: una semplice insalata e una aragosta semplicemente alla griglia ma il tutto semplicemente DIVINO...anche il contesto, quindi l'attesa non pesa per niente. Assolutamente non caro. Personale professionale, gentile e attento. Nell'attesa tutti i piatti che ho visto sono ben cucinati e il pesce molto fresco. Ottimi vini a prezzi nella norma.

We've loved coming to Pic Nic whenever we've stayed in the area for many years so after a 3-4 year break we were a little concerned at reading the reviews for the last couple of years. So with some trepidation we visited on a lunchtime and were delighted to find little had changed with good food, great service and that view to die for.

Wir sind sehr entäuscht! Vor 4 Jahren genauso wie die ganze letzte Woche haben wir erstklassiges Essen bekommen. Gestern haben wir 4 Gedecke zurückgeben müssen und die Vorspeise kam falsch. Der Kellner sagte uns es wäre sein Fehler und es wäre "for free". Als wir diese Vorspeise von der Rechnung abziehen wollten wurde uns mit der Polizei gedroht! Ich glaube der Juniochef muss noch viel lernen! Not Gentlemen like ! Schade!

Essen ist gut. Service kommt drauf an wer bedient, die Männer sind sehr schnell, die Dame äusserst langsam (falls sie es nicht vergessen hatte)

Travail au black, repas trop cher pour la qualité, et à voulu arnaquer à plusieurs reprise des mineurs d’un montant de 45€. De plus les aliments sont surgelés les serveurs désagréables, n’aiment pas les étrangers et de plus ce moque des clients

Durant le service les employés étaient déhagréable et se moquaient des clients à plusieurs reprises. Il font du travail non déclaré et profite de la naïveté des mineurs pour les arnaquer. De plus les prix sont doublé voir meme triplé pour les glaces.

Had the misfortune of visiting this restaurant on 22nd June. Arrived 13.30 for lunch (table of 5 adults and 2 children). At 2.15, we had all finished our drinks but still had no food. None of the other tables had their food either, some had been waiting longer than us. With patience wearing thin, I asked a waitress if the food was likely to take much longer. She snapped, “One minute please” and walked away, returning 3 or 4 minutes later but still ignoring me. I advised that I would like to cancel our food order and pay for our drinks as we had been waiting for 50 minutes. She disappeared again to the kitchens. After a further 5 minutes a younger man appeared with a falsified receipt in his hand pointing to a time and saying we only ordered 20 minutes ago. I stated this was untrue and reiterated that we would like to pay for our drinks and leave. He began arguing with other staff in Portuguese while looking at me, then disappeared again to the kitchens. After a further 5 minutes of waiting, I put down 20 Euros (more than the cost of the drinks) and shouted over to the waitress that I was leaving it by the till. As I was walking up the steps, an older waiter came running out to me shouting “Miss, you get back here! I’m not joking!” I walked back calmly and explained again what had happened. He stated that our food was ready and we must pay as it has been made already. By this stage, I had told my family to go on to the car as the children were getting upset. To be honest, I was intimidated by his demeanour towards me. The staff made me feel like a criminal. He gave me the bill and demanded I pay. I stated if I had to pay, I would need to receive food to take away. For the food that was ‘already made’, it took a further 10 minutes. All the while, the staff shouted among themselves while looking over at me like I was a piece of dirt. The cost was €90. The food was inedible. The service was shameful. There was no apology. I left in tears having been intimidated and bullied by terrible staff. Please do not go near this place if you like good service and good food. It should be closed down.

Super nette Bedienung, wahnsinnig toller Blick, tolle Einrichtung und leckeres Essen. Das Essen ist ein wenig teurer aber es gibt auch gute Snacks und leckeren Kaffee.

El servicio malísimo y todo muy caro. Estuve esperando 40 min para comprar una botella de agua a 4,5€. No vayáis!

Neue Besitzer. Das Lokal heißt jetzt Leo. Essen ist durchschnittlich zu überhöhten Preisen. Die Dorade für (55€ p.kg) war trocken und das Hänchen Piri-Piri (13€) sehr klein und geschmacklich wenig würzig. Müssten sehr lange aufs Essen warten. Lage ist toll, direkt am Strand mit Blick aufs Meer.

We spent our last night on holiday at this restaurant and couldn't have asked for a nicer setting. Our waiter couldn't do enough for us and as the sun set we enjoyed freshly caught Bass, Piri Piri chicken and what my dad stated was the best sirloin he'd EVER had. Even the kids were happy with chicken nuggets and freshly made pizza. Well worth a visit!

I am currently sitting in this boutique style bistro and it has been perfect. I had a full crab which was cooked to perfection and is probably one of the best things I've ever tasted. The service was relaxed, friendly and not rushed. The location is stunning and today we have crashing waves and a perfect heat. Thank you.

Food was very good, but the service was suspect, our waiter took our order twice (didn't write it down) and still got it wrong, then tried to make out it was our fault, the other staff were good and we sorted it out in the end. Remember to ask for a snack menu!

Das Gute zuerst: super Strandlage, tolle Aussicht, chillige Atmosphäre. Essen nicht gut: Pizza Margherita schmeckte verdächtig nach TK und kostete 15,- Euro!!! Auch die anderen Gerichte eher auf Snackbar Niveau. Wobei ich nichts zu den Fischgerichten sagen kann. Insgesamt stimmte Preis-Leistung nicht.

Mau atendimento, demorado e gerente não é simpático, cuidado com a conta e com os extras. Qualidade fraca e preço elevado.
