My husband has just purchased a t-shirt from Blanc du Nil in Lagos, Portugal. Upon completing the transaction, the lady who served us, Grace, asked me why I wasn't wearing a hat. When I replied that I don't suit one (knowing full well that she was simply trying to sell me a hat) she proceeded to tell me about how dangerous the suns rays are. She concluded her lecture by telling me that I have more than just me to think about and that I should be more responsible and buy a hat. Of all the morally dubious sales techniques that I have encountered, this has to be the worst. It is beyond apprehension. I have had a very difficult pregnancy to date and to suggest that I am not doing everything I can to safeguard my child is not only incredibly inaccurate (I spend very little time in the sun which is evidenced by my current shade of ghostly white!) it is also very insensitive. Do not spend your money in this store unless you are happy to be upset and offended!
