my wife and I took the day trip from porto to Santiago. Daniel was our diver/guide and I wish to commend him highly for making the trip such a pleasure. he was very well informed, had a good sense of humor, and spoke excellent English. we also enjoyed a lunch that far exceeded our expectations.

I had such a great time in the Douro Valley with Living Tours. Sadly, the weather was bad and it rained the whole day, but we still managed to enjoy the views to the Douro river, the cruise, and of course, the wine tasting. The three of us took the historical van tour of the Douro River Valley with Francisco. This is easily the best tour we've ever taken. Francisco is avgreat guide because he lives in this region and knows the best local tips. We ate well, had a wonderful coffee stop, toured a winery and took a boat ride on the Douro River. All along the way, Francisco told us of the history and in between stops, we enjoyed the perfect mixtape that he had made. It was a very memorable day. One tip to those who experience motion sickness. Bring your ginger; because it's a wonderful winding road, both ways.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY : FALSE ADVERTISING!!! A DRIVER, not a guide... The "Douro Valley Wine Tasting with Lunch" Tour did not fulfill half of the advertised activities - such as the visit to Lamego Sancturay or the snack accompanying the wine tasting... Our guide, Daniel, was no more than a driver - he did not explain anything about the Douro Valley or the wine making process, he spent the day quoting prices... Awfully BORING!... He was deprived of any interpersonal skill, he dropped us at the various locations without any introduction or suggestions of what to see once there... Besides, we were a group of 7 people speaking Portuguese and French, so half the time was spent on repeating the same meaningless details in a different language, which was sooooooo long...... It was a dreadful day, not only were we not made familiar with the places we visited, but we were rushed all along and had no time to enjoy anything... If this over-confident and totally dull driver is representative of Living Tours' standard of a quality tour, you better look elsewhere, because you'll be bitterly DISAPPOINTED... Concerning the Lamego Sanctuary mention, it was present on the Viator site I booked the tour from, as well as the snack at the winery. If there is a difference between what Viator advertises and what their suppliers offer, that is NOT the client's concern - I expect to get what I paid for. As for the tour company's reply, it was written in bad faith: I never insulted our Portuguese speaking companions, I simply said it was a long day due to the translation - which denotes a deficient trip planning on Living Tours' part. Once again, putting words in people's mouths' is proof enough of dishonesty. So instead of censuring people on the Internet, you should invest in teaching your guides some history : there was no mention whatsoever of the Convent of São Gonçalo de Amarante belonging to the Romanesque architectural style, neither of any notable Amarante citizen, for example Teixeira de Vasconcelos, contender for the literature Nobel Prize.

Tour di 50 minuti (tuk tuk ride) nel centro storico di Porto, fino a Vila Nova de Gaia (al monastero Serra do Pilar) e ritorno. Esperienza piacevole anche se... La nostra guida era l'unica, tra quelle disponibili, che parlasse inglese (abbastanza bene) ma il fatto di doversi esprimere in lingua straniera ha reso il tour un po' povero di informazioni (diversamente da quanto sarebbe successo se avesse potuto esprimersi nella sua lingua madre, ne sono certo). La ragazza è stata gentile e simpatica, decisamente, ma l'esperienza finale per i miei gusti è risultata un po' "povera". Piacevole ma povera...

Nous venons de faire un Douro tour avec Daniel. Le programme de la journée est très intéressant et l'organisation impeccable . Le restaurant du déjeuner propose une cuisine traditionnelle, très bien élaborée. La balade sur le fleuve est magnifique et la propriété choisie pour la dégustation époustouflante.

We had three tours booked with Living Tours - the half day Porto Tour, Full Day Minho Tour (lunch included) and Full Day Douro Tour (lunch included.) Our tour guides Tiago and Marina have strong communication skills both in English and Spanish. They impressed us with their cultural and historical knowledge of the places we visited. Great sense of humour and kept us all in a good mood. Very good drivers that made us feel safe and comfortable specially on those narrow zigzag roads. We enjoyed the lunch arranged for us giving us the chance to mingle and get to know other tourists from different countries in our group. It was fun! Truly enjoyable!! Overall, we highly recommend Living Tours!

Thanks to Ricardo Guimaraes for an excellent day visiting Braga and Guimaraes. He’s a great guide, very thorough and credible and a professional at his job. Sue and I followed that day with a night at the Fado at restaurant Candares tipico Fado. Another 5-Star experience. We’d recommend Living Tours to all our family and friends. We booked through Viatour so thanks all around. Save & Sue, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Booked a wine tasting tour of the Douro Valley. Was picked up in a nice bus. That was as good as it got. Almost 2 hrs later we arrived at our lunch spot. First the driver of the bus was one of the worst drivers I have ever experienced. He kept accelerating and breaking, over and over. Made us all motion sick. The lunch spot was at a winery that was so cheesy it was hard not too laugh. They had mechanical mannequins to show us the grape crush. So tacky. Our lunch was mediocre at best. Tough meats to start, bland soup, ok stew, the deserts were pretty good and the wine tasting was basically the wine they poured at lunch. The grounds were less than stellar , green pool, weeds and junk. After lunch we drove 20 minutes for the boat tour. Well, we shared the boat with another group, and we were the second group, and had to sit in the hot sun for an hour of a very boring boat tour. Nothing to see but the brush on the banks. It was incredibly hot. Then back on the bus to our second and last stop, a port tasting. This was much better, tasted 3 ports in a pretty location. Then back on the bus to go back to Porto with the horrible driver. Got stuck in traffic so the trip back was over 2.5 hrs. So all in all our trip lasted 10.5 hrs, to leave Lisbon to eat and drink mediocre food and wine in the Douro Valley. The valley was pretty granted, but Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t do it again. Our guide was nice, but not enough to make this an enjoyable experience.

Went on a day trip to the Douro Valley to have meal, wine tasting and boat tour. Highly recommend it as all stops were enjoyable and a great way to have an excursion out of Porto. Our guide Thiago was entertaining and knowledgeable. Had a great time!

Buenos tours, una increíble atención. Si compras directamente en la oficina el precio es algo menor, y te hace un descuento adicional si ya has hecho algún tour con ellos, mi consejo (en especial en temporada baja) es que compres un tour por adelantado y los otros los colores directamente en la oficina para tener el descuento

Contratamos un tour completo d Oporto y ha sido buenisimo, el guia estupendo "Joao Mota" super amable en todo momento, lo recomiendo para ver una gran parte de esta maravillosa ciudad.

We did the Aviero tour which is simply a disappointing tour, clearly trying to offer more tours within the area of Porto but it is lacking. It didn't start well as we had a central meeting point at the offices at 8.30am and then proceeded to drive around for an hour picking up others, one hour driving around Porto is ridiculous, pick up was all the way to the North of the city too when we are heading south to Aviera. Think it should be one pick up point and if going to offer hotel pick up, especially in opposite direction to Aviera they should pick up the hotels first then collect the rest from the office. Our guide was knowledgeable but failed to explain to us the simple structure of the day, for example we'll drive an hour then take a 45 min boat then 5 min walk then 20mins Costa Nova. She also had to explain everything twice or three times due to several languages on the same tour. Hands up it wasn't helped by the weather as it was torrential rain however the traditional boat cruise is a zig zag up a couple of industrial looking canals, "Venice of Portugal" is an extreme stretch, simply not aesthetically pleasing. The walking tour of Aviera was sampling a traditional egg type sweet and 5 min walk back to the van. Costa Nova is pretty and was the saving grace of the tour. Would definitely not recommend Aviera. We did visit Douro Valley also, however with another company, and loved that very scenic and wine tasting excellent, that's a good day out. Aviera was disappointing!

The tour we had through living tours was amazing, was a full day tour and Paula I think her name was sorry, was our guide. She was so knowledgeable and interesting. Was such a great day with lots to do. The visit to the port winery and lunch was really special. Would definitely recommend

O tempo livre em cada uma para dar aquela passeadinha que todo turista gosta é muito curto. O almoço, servido em Braga, estava delicioso e o restaurante era muito agradável. Met Diana Nouza en chauffeur Claudio op 9 oktober een dag de douro historical tour gemaakt. Claudia heeft heerlijke muziek en stuurt de auto als een slang door het gebied. Très beau tour dans la Vallée du Douro incluant un déjeuner, la courte visite de Pinaho et une dégustation de 3 portos chez Croft. Notre guide No-No est super compétent et vraiment passionné.

Compramos el tour nocturno con cena y fado. La cena fue horrible, de plato combinado, con un calor increíble en la sala que no te dejaba disfrutar del buen espectáculo de fado que nos estaban ofreciendo. Costo muy elevado para lo poco que ofrecen.

One of the best tours we've done. The van was sooo comfy and modern. We did the winery one. We expected to taste two wines in two wineries. We had around 7 haha. Lunch was fantastic. Views of the valley were breathtaking. And most of all our tour guide Nuno (sorry for the spelling) and the driver were super attentive and full of information. Definitely give it a go! They have better promotions than most other tours we saw.

My husband Ramesh & I were in Porto and took the Living Tours full day tour of Porto including wine tasting and lunch Porto is a nice mix of Venice, the Riviera, and Culture in one package. Very interesting ! What made it particularly special was the warmth and enthusiasm of our wonderful tour guide Ms Marina. She is an outstanding Ambassador for both Porto and Living Tours. I did the douro winery tour and it was quite nice. It was definitely worth it and overall the Living Tours team did a good job. The tour was informative and entertaining, the food was great, nice sights and good wine. The worst thing about the tour is that the driver skimps on the AC and all of us in the minibus were suffering in the heat. That and the drop off back in the city was delayed for a long time for some reason. For some reason we had to wait a long time for our tour guide who appeared to be lost in conversation with some of the other tourists who were dropped off at their hotel.

It was my first time in Porto & am glad I did a tour with this company. Francisco was our guide. The pick up & drop off was on time. He personalized the tour experience & made the group of 7 blend well together as he broke the ice between a multicultural dynamic very easily. It was a day filled with laughter most importantly.

Our tour guide Andrie was great. He was so attentive to our group of about 10, kept everyone in the loop. He was so helpful and knew so much about Porto and the surrounding areas. We went on all day tour, including the historic area, train station, the castle, sightseeing, wine tasting, cruise on the river and more sightseeing to the lovely beaches outside the city. The tour included a lunch of traditional faire with a drink, dessert and coffee. Just great value as the total cost was just €70 for the whole day. Lunch was really special as Andrie got us all chatting and we met some lovely people from US, Canada and Japan! I would definitely recommend this tour. It was a long day but worth doing if you only have a couple of days. Hope to do it again....

Tiago war sehr lehrreich, witzig, sympathisch und spontan. Er wusste so viel, nie war es uns langweilig. Weil es regnerisch war, hat er den Trip so gewählt, dass wir dem Regen meistens entkommen konnten. Auch bei Nebel ist der Trip empfehlenswert, bekommt eine mystische Note. Der Chauffeur ist sehr sicher gefahren, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

If you have no idea what to do or find yourself alone, Living Tours is your answer (as long as you have some money, you can have fun and unforgettable experiences). I booked the tour "Passeio a Santiago de Compostela com Visita à Fortaleza de Valença" and had a great time. They picked me up at the hotel and drove me to Spain. It was a nice group of people, very diverse. The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. Once you arrive in Santiago, you have enough time to visit several churches and eat. I bought the lunch with the tour and it was very good. Very authentic too. I also used Living Tours to book the hotel/airport transfer and they were on time and the service was excellent! I had my dog and tons of bags and he helped me carried it all. At the airport, he secured a cart and placed all my items on it. He rolled the cart to an area where I could sit inside and he made sure I knew which counter I had to go to. Very attentive and professional. I would use their services again. I have added pictures of the food given on the tour to Santiago de Compostela. It was a calm and relaxed trip. Mostly seeing churches, eat, and drive back. Mostly an older crowd, but I enjoyed it.

My wife and I wound up staying in Porto an extra day, and we're so glad we did! Our guide Sophie was a great source of info (and of course some jokes), and we were able to see 2 wineries and a traditional baker, as well as the panoramic river cruise. I was expecting the river cruise to be guided, but they let the amazing scenery speak for itself. The lunch meal is still one of the top 3 most memorable form our whole trip, and the bottomless wine definitely helped make new friends :)

- Guide couldn’t drive well, veering off the road and having ppl honk at them often - Guide got lost a few times and struggled to drive manual - Had to listen to the guide suck on a mint over the microphone part of the way - Had to stop for gas and listen to the guide complain and apologize all the while This was a very poor experience and I feared for our lives at many points. I’m sure the greater company is solid but the guide we had should really find another profession.

We had a very informative and wonderful tour today to Santiago de Compostela with Goncalo as our most excellent guide. Living tours gave us an exact time to be ready and Goncalo picked us up promptly at our hotel. He had genuine concern for each guest and engaged the entire group with interesting conversation about Porto as we stopped for more guests. The time flew by on the way to the pilgrimage site as he told us all about Compostela and shared his breadth of knowledge on history, various places in Portugal, Portuguese food, wine, and culture. On the way back he shared his interest in music with us and we heard samples of Portuguese Fado as well as various contemporary artists. We highly recommend taking any tour with Goncalo.

We were in Porto in April and we took the wine country tour with guide, Tiago Santos, and Tiago was extremely informative and entertaining. As I recall there were six or seven of us in total and it was an intimate, comfortable setting with quite a few wine tastings and a lovely luncheon all included. Well done!

We enjoyed two day trips with Living Tours Porto. 0n 19 September 2017 to Santiago de Compostella - Miguel was our guide. The trip was well-organised and interesting from beginning to end - and Miguel made every second count with his intelligence, insight, knowledge and obvious love of the area and his country. Lunch was an absolute feast of local delicacies and wine. Miguel is a good driver and made us feel safe. Being picked up at our Airbnb address was an absolute bonus. On 21 September to the Douro valley - Nunu was our guide and we hade the same kind of experience with him. Friendly, intelligent and very knowledgeable. Great lunch and port-tasting. We booked a small group wine tour of maximum 8 people in the Douro valley with a rabelo boat tour. We were loaded onto a large bus that drove all over town picking people up 24 in total. We went to the winery and had lunch and then to the dock for the boat ride. Instead of the quant rabelo boat that put two bus loads of people on a ferry for the boat ride. This was not what we paid for! Do not trust this company

We took two tours from here, totally loved it and enjoyed it very much. Quality service, good selection of restaurants and wine tasting vineyards. Fabulous small group tour - a 1.5 hr drive to Duoro valley with stop off in beautiful Amarente for coffee. Our wonderful guide Bernado offered extensive knowledge throughout the tour making for an interesting and informative day. We enjoyed a traditional lunch at a quaint homestead right down in the valley near the river. Being coeliac was no problem at all - Bernado phoned through to let the hosts know and I was able to enjoy a lovely gluten free meal. I must say, the wine from this region is divine. After lunch the river cruise offered a great view view of the vineyards of the region. We enjoyed two wine tastings at very different vineyards- both equally beautiful with fabulous wines. We had a great bunch of people (only 8 per tour) which made for a fun filled day and Bernado was a fantastic guide - ever knowledgeable, helpful and a perfect gent.

I had a great experience with this company, our tour guide Francisco was excellent, very polite and friendly; he seemed to know everything, and didn't get tired with our questions.We went to Aveiro, it's just like a little Venice , beautiful place to visit.Money well spent, I would use this company again and again;

Did the Douro Valley wine tour and it was great! Our guide was Ricardo and his knowledge of the port wine making process was incredible! We had tours and samplings at two wineries, a huge traditional lunch and a river cruise (not too long - about 45 minutes). This is an excellent day trip for people who love wine! Would definitely recommend it!

Tiago Santos gave us our tour of the Douro Valley and wineries and he was wonderful. Very attentive, entertaining and knowledgeable. He was always looking out for us and told good jokes! The tour was varied with a stop at a historic town, 2 port wineries, a nice lunch, a lovely boat ride on the Douro and a very scenic drive on the way back to Porto. HIGHLY recommend this tour and this tour guide.

We did a tour of Brava and Guimaraes today with Andre, the best so far of our tours in Spain and Portugal! Andre provided excellent historical and cultural information, was very knowledgeable about linguistics and passed on extremely interesting facts throughout the day. Highly recommended. Abregada Andre!

We did the Douro Valley Wine Tour and our guide was Tiago. If you have time in Porto I would highly recommend signing up for this tour, especially if you can get Tiago as your guide. He's very funny, knowledgeable and professional. The wineries were beautiful and great tours. The lunch was fantastic and Tiago even made some extra stops along the way.

We had a wonderful full day tour around the outskirts of Porto. Tiago, our guide, was so pleasant and well informed. and we learned many interesting facts from him about the history of Portugal. He definitely made our experience a highlight of our visit to Portugal. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful Douro Valley and River from the hills of the winery that we visited. We also enjoyed seeing the small towns outside of Porto.
