Very non-transparent, contradicting, and sales oriented service. Tried to make a good choice about the tour buses, did not get help - rather to the contrary, we were misled on quite a few important parameters, and had to literally challenge the service person misleading us about things we could later find in the official booklets.

Men is er heel vriendelijk. Geeft voldoende en duidelijke uitleg. Geen openingstijden aangegeven aan het bureau zelf ( omdat deze verschillen naar gelang de periode in het jaar... ) Je kan hier Porto card kopen.

On nous laisse faire la queue, arrivé devant le guichet on nous dit qu'il fallait prendre un ticket et on nous demande de refaire la queue. La personne du guichet était très malaimable, les informations étaient sèches et nous avons été éjectés rapidement. Mauvaise expérience.

Incompetenti e antipatici, entriamo e nell'ufficio non c'era nessuno, la ragazza castana e alta al bancone ha voluto che prendessimo necessariamente il numero.... mahhh se non c'è nessuno, vabè plassi. Chiediamo informazioni per il bus notturno 3M per arrivare in aeroporto, volevamo sapere orari e fermate, ci guarda come se fossimo extraterrestri, ci dice che non sa nulla e che dobbiamo andare alla stazione Trinidade, gli diciamo che sappiamo che passa da Av Aliados, vicinissimo all'ufficio, nulla na sa nulla, mi chiedo come sia possibile che un ufficio informazioni turistiche molto grande non sappia queste informazioni basilari per il turista.

Sendo Madeirense, e querendo informações e comprar um livro guia ou mapa, após aguardar imenso tempo, e com falta visível de colaboradores, acabei saindo e comprei um livro guia local numa loja de Souvenirs. O atendimento era prioritário para o Turista não português. Desiludida!

Oficina dónde te ofrecen información detallada de los lugares de interés, visitas y transportes de utilidad para visitar la ciudad. Hay que esperar turno para ser atendido y es algo lento. La atención es personalizada y muy amable.

Worst planned part of my whole 10 month travelling experience. Definitely a reminder to continue to plan my own itinerary myself. Booked a boat cruise, winery and fado through this office and ended up with a very tight timetable as they insisted I needed to do the boat tour first and didnt even mention that the wine tour time should be booked in advance. I thought it strange but assumed that they must not get booked out.

Points positifs :
Parle le français, l'anglais, l'espagnol et le distributeur de ticket numéroté pour répondre aux questions des touristes dans l'ordre d'arrivée, le plan de la ville detaillé.
Points négatifs:
On donne peu d'information sur la mobilité dans Porto, on débite le même discours pour chaque touriste.
Pour les réductions ou les billets combinés, préférez internet pour se renseigner.

Dispite the advertisements on the internet and directions from metro ticket assistants....The tourism office NO LONGER SELLS THE ANDANTE TOUR CARD. This can only be bought from select Metro stations...and not from the machines. They make them hard to get.
Suggestion. Put up a big sign saying ANDANTE TOUR CARDS ARE NOT SOLD HERE. That way tourists dont have to take a number...wait..and then be told ANDANTE TOUR CARDS are not sold here.
Also why does Lisbon sell all day passes from metro machines that you can recharge in seconds.any time of day or night..but in Porto you have to buy ANDANTE CARDS that you cannot recharge from HUMAN BEINGS?...and only when they are open

There's a ticketing system in place at this tourist office which is only followed by foreign tourists. The locals ignore the system and queue jump. It took twenty minutes to get served. Irritating and the staff didn't seem bothered. If possible only use this office in the off season or get information from Google.

Accueil très moyens. On vous demande de prendre un ticket avec la langue parlé et vous vous retrouver avec une personne qui ne parle pas votre langue et qui n'a aucun documents à vous fournir en français pour vous donner envie de visiter la ville. Déplorable

Waiting, waiting, waiting. 3 employees but only one trying to help visitors. At the end once being finaly called by number, employees are not able to help with any recommendation except trying to sell Porto card. Even there asking what are the top museums included, the answer was simple - we cant tell you, everybody has different interests. I am expecting too much comming to official Porto information center for recommendations?

Guy was truly disrespectful and arrogant. Was not helpful at all and gave wrong information and wasn't cooperative at all. He shouldn't be working in the tourism branch. I witnessed the same with guests before me.

De très bon conseil. Achat tickets sur place pour parcours bateau, téléphérique, visite cave sur les conseils de l'hôtesse. Très bon conseils moins cher sur place. Organisation horaire vu avec eux. L'office appele même les organismes pour valider et organiser. Présentation carte, conseils de sens de visite... vraiment très très bien. Et très cordiaux.

Trato exquisito de la chica que nos atendió. Hablaba perfectamente castellano, inglés, y posiblemente algún idioma mas, amen del portugués. Nos dió todas las informaciones solicitadas y nos dedicó el tiempo necesario sin perder la sonrisa en ningún momento. Contesto todas nuestras preguntas sin ningún problema. Gracias a su atención la visita a la ciudad fue mucho más agradable.

Office staff good, Porto card is not worth it. The city is tiny and walkable. Unless you're a senior, with a stroller, always carry lots of items with you or an invalid, you don't need to get this card. Unless you are staying in Maia the walk between Gaia and Porto is easy. You can take the bus but it will take forever to get to you. The public transportation system is not available on Google Maps. The timing of when busses arrive on street corners (if it is working) is not followed. Drivers will stop in non-designated stops. And the bus drivers (we've spoken to four of them) do not know where landmarks are in the city. They don't all speak English so you are lost if you don't speak Portuguese. We even used a Google Translate app and that still didn't work for them since there's technology for communication and they were adamant about not using it. You're better off taking an Uber. Similar issues with taxis unfortunately - make sure they speak English before you get in to on. Make sure you have exact change since no one seems to want to give you change or it's a big effort if they do and will shun you. Walking is good - good for your health. Do that instead.

Reçu en français. Le problème est que la personne n'est pas là pour vous aider à découvrir la ville mais vendre ses attractions et ne vous parle pas du reste...Très dommage on se débrouillera autrement.

Went to the Tourism Office to get further information on the boat trips and Wine Tasting in the cellars near the river. The advisor was very helpful, spoke excellent French and answered our questions. Advise is provided in four languages which are Portuguese, Spanish, French and English. If you book the tour for the Ferreira wine / Porto tasting with the Tourist Office, make sure you contact Ferreira direct and reserve your place for the language of your choice in advance (24 hours). When we arrived only the Portuguese and German tours were available.

Visited the Porto Tourist office to purchase the Porto card. The staff were extremely friendly and the facilities were clean, well organized with many brochures to choose from.
My only negative feedback would be that several of the listed attractions / museums listed for use with the Porto card were either already free, closed for renovations or in some cases not the described percentage discount as in the pamphlet (for example the contemporary art museum was listed as a 50% discount but was told that it was changed recently to only 20% by the museum itself).
I'd recommend to update the pamphlet to reflect the current discounts or mention them beforehand.
That being said it was a great trip to Porto, definitely hope to be back!

Solo puedo decir que estoy sorprendida y no gratamente. Mientras que esperabamos en la cola escuchábamos como con toda amabilidad atendían a los turistas que tenían turno antes que nosotros. Cuando llegó nuestro turno, nos acercamos al mostrador y tras saludar a la chica que nos iba a atender le dijimos que no sabíamos por donde empezar, claro está, acabamos de llegar a una ciudad que no habíamos visitado en nuestra vida. La respuesta fue rotunda " los españoles siempre igual, no saben que quieren". Tras este comentario hizo un rápida y escueta descripción sobre un mapa turístico y cerró la boca. Tuvimos que insistir para que nos aclarase cosas básicas como, donde están los transportes públicos. Nos despacho de mala manera. Por suerte hemos tenido la oportunidad de conocer otros países y el trato en los puntos de información turística ha sido excelente, no más de lo necesario pero nunca menos. Tengo que añadir, que no creo que todas las personas que atienden en este punto de informacion traten a todo el mundo igual....o al menos, no me lo ha parecido cuando escuchaba como atendian....Pero parece ser...que a esta chica, el hecho de solo conocer que eramos españoles....ya no le gustó.
Sólo decirle a esta Señorita, que si algún día visita Sevilla que contacte con nosotros, seremos sus anfitriones y le daremos el trato que no ha sido capaz de darnos, pero sin cobrar, por amor al arte.
Aún así hemos visitado Oporto, disfrutado de la ciudad y de su agradable gente!!

Can't praise this place enough. On the busiest week of the year (Sao Joao) each time we visited they were friendly, helpful and made us feel as though we were the only visitors that mattered. Most of the staff are polyglots. They can book plenty of tours for you, or simply give you advice on the best places to visit. This should be your first stop on any visit to the city
