Fantastic wine bar that takes you on a journey through the highlights of Portuguese wine. Highly recommended. The somelier is extremely knowledgeable and his passion is palpable. His choices of regional wine was outstanding and paired fantastically with the local cheese and ham (a must have). Their English was particularly good. An outstanding choice for a romantic wine before dinner or a small group and gives an authentic taste of what Portugal, and Porto in particular, has to offer.

Es una de las mejores vinotecas de la ciudad. Tienen una corta selección de vinos de las diferentes zonas ya que rotan mucho las referencias, en vez de tener una selección más amplia a la carta.

Excellent selection of wines from Portugal and all over the world for fair prices, many of which are by the glass. A knowledgable and friendly staff enhances the overall experience of this rather classy wine bar. I didn’t have any but there is also a decent appetiser and cheese selection.

Unbelievably good wines. Amazing service. Diogo is so knowledgeable. Just ask for his recommendations. Cheese board is unique and flavorful. Worth doing 100%. After leaving Porto we just keep wishing we were back here at Prova enjoying the incredible wines Diogo sells.

Nice place, good selection of alcoholic bewerages. Although I expexted even better selection. Service was friendly but not too friendly and well educated in wines. I reccomand this place over others with better view of the city. You don't get the view here, but you get more attention and better selection.

First night in Porto and we were recommended this bar to have a first experience with portwine. Atmosphere is super cozy yet modern. Music went fitting to the action outside from roackbilly over blues to soft jazz as the night progressed. It became more crowded around 8pm but never felt to full.
In the bar 2 young sommeliers worked, both with good English and good knowledge of what they were talking about. They advised us very well. I started with a refreshing Port Tonic, and then had 2 different red ports. All tasted excellent.
Prices are also marvelous. Especially for students. Olives and other small snacks 1-3€ (bigger tapas around 10-12) and wines ranging from 3.50 - 5€ for normal wines and 10-20 for the really old ones. Prices like you would expect for a bar and very decent considering service and quality of products.
10/10, would visit again.

We wanted to have a glass of port wine and we asked around where we could have a good one, away from the tourist traps on the water side. A guy told us to come here. Very lovely ambient and atmosphere, the service was super nice and explain us the wine menu very detailed. Will definitely come back when I will be in porto again!

Excellent tasting experience, some of the best wines we've ever had and all from Portugal. Great place for both before and after dinner (we did both) and lovely ambiance. Not too busy either time we went. Definitely a worthwhile stop in Porto if you aren't seeking only Port wines.

C'est un super endroit pour déguster du très bon Porto. Je vous recommande le Tawny 20 ans d'âge qui est très bon et assez rare. L'accueil est également excellent, les conseils et explications sont au top.
C'est un des meilleurs bar pour déguster du Porto dans la ville.

Porto is not only a beautiful city, but also a meeting point for wine lovers. Prova is a perfectly intimate wine tasting spot where Diogo -its sommelier- and his staff will delight you with great suggestions for wines from the region while also pairing them with delicious cheeses that play a perfect symphony in your mouth. Prova has in Diogo an amazing ambassador for the Douro Valley. He's generous with his encyclopedic knowledge and also his time. He was most gracious as well as the staff. Additionally, its proximity to the Palácio da Bolsa (Porto's old stock exchange) guarantees you won't miss it. Wonderful jazz music is the backdrop as you sip and taste your wine. Unpretentious and straight forward.

My wife and I went here on our first night in Porto, we knew very little about Port and Portuguese wine until we met João. He took the time to talk to us and find out what we liked and then gave excellent suggestions. We left with way more understanding than we came with and we felt as if João was a friend so we couldn’t ask for a better place to go. Also the little bites we ordered were small but delicious!

A true gem. We went twice, and the waiter remembered us and guided us through some delicious wines. He built is a progression when we wanted and when we plateau'd, kept on pouring the same good stuff. The food was on point and I'd would run back here when in Porto.

This place was cute. Great for couples and groups looking to hang out for a while and enjoy some good wines. Not many wine by the glass options but with a menu their size, why not get a bottle? They do have some cheese and snack options which is really nice. The service was helpful, but they were very short staffed which led to very long waits unfortunately. That seemed to be an exception rather than a standard though. No reservation needed.

Stumbled across this place walking around the more touristy parts of town, but this place surprised me for not being a tourist trap at all.
The staff was very professional, and gave me plenty of information and suggestions regarding which wines to taste.
Ended up ordering one vinho verde and one Arinto white. Both were very very tasty and went along perfectly with some small bites the menu offered.
Prices are also reasonable, 3-4 euros per glass, and food is quite cheap too.
Very much recommended. Too bad I didn't return for some reds.

Отличное место для того чтобы попробовать португальские вина и портвейны. Возвращались туда практически каждый вечер так как по атмосфере и выбору таких мест в городе мало. При этом, что удивительно, про вина других стран в этом баре мало что знают. Выбор вина от 2 евро за бокал и далее. За 7 можно попробовать отличные варианты. Если вино не понравилось, не стесняйтесь и вам принесут что-то поинтереснее. Выбор огромный!

Excelente y sorprendente selección de vinos portugueses, la mayoría de pequeños productores y muy difíciles de encontrar en otros lugares, de la mano del propietario, Diogo. Se recomienda dejarse aconsejar por él. La original selección de vinos se acompaña de una carta corta de quesos, embutidos y tapas para acompañar el vino.
Todo ello con una música de fondo adecuada y excelente (jazz, ...).

Waited for a drink for more than 15 min while the new girl took her time making dozens of unnecessary trips back and forth. When she finally came round with my drink she ended up spilling some on the table and the floor (lucky I was out of her way or else my clothes would have been ruined). Servings and portions are small compared to other places around as well as Portuguese standards. I did enjoy my wine choices though I wouldn't consider rushing back. It was a shame because the atmosphere was nice and the owner really seemed to care about what he was doing.

Can't say enough good things about Dio, the owner, and his establishment. After we were seated, Do simply asked us what we enjoyed to taste in our wine and brought perfect matches for us. During our visit, he really mad us feel important and went out of his way to take care of us. I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in Porto.

A great choice of wine, but most of all, amazing advices! Just ask what you would like to taste and they will serve it. And of course you can try before being served!
The atmosphere is really nice too. Great furniture, nice music and awesome attendance :).

Two chairs out on the street, light breeze, gulls overhead, OK Computer and lovely wine and port. This is how I arrived in Porto.
