Amazing, it was our first wine tasting. We loved it, an “have to do” activity in a nice tiny bar with very nice wine experts.

An amazing find! It seats 12 people max so the experience is really intimate. Raf is hugely generous - you get so much more than you pay for. He’s knowledgeable, friendly and makes you feel right at home. Particularly amazing if you are studying WSET exams as he is taking diploma and will tailor the drinks to your interests.

A real hidden gem! We visited this bar as we wanted an authentic Portuguese experience, to taste great wine with someone who was knowledgeable and passionate about it..and this place exceeded all expectations! Rafael was a fantastic host, he handpicked some truly exceptional wines for us and put on some meat and breads. He was very knowledgeable about wine, having studied it professionally in London. This was a true taste of Portugal and the portuguese way of life, a real treat to experience thank you so so much!

Excelente bar de vinos conducido por un Sommelier muy experimentado. Puedes tomar vinos por copa, eligiendo entre varias alternativas muy interesantes o bien, pedir una degustación y adentrarse en el mundo fascinante de los vinos de Portugal.

Eu pessoalmente não sou muito fã de vinho... Mas o Rafael, dono do espaço, conseguiu mudar um Bocado essa minha ideia. Com alguma conversa foi me apresentado 2 ou 3 vinhos que por incrível que pareça gostei bastante.
Grande conhecimento na área... Com grande humor e paixão pela área. 1h30 a falar de vinhos e bons petiscos!!!

I loved this experience! I'm not a big wine drinker and wanted to see if I could change that. I learned so much about how to choose the right wine for me and how much food can affect the taste of wine. Rafa is an absolute expert and can make this experience perfect for anyone, from wine doubters to super connoisseurs.

An excellent experience and great value - we had a blast with Rafael and Hippo - kind, fun and brimming with knowledge. Our wine and food pairings were 100% from Portugal, ergo deliciosa! I would recommend booking with them at the beginning of your stay in Porto as you will finish your tasting with a greater understanding and appreciation of Portuguese wine and food than when you arrived. *Cork Dorks take note!*

This was a great experience! I'm so glad we were able to find this little place and spend quality time learning about the unique treasures of these special wines. They were extremely personable, welcoming, made us laugh and taught us so much about wine!

This was a great experience for me! I didn't know anything about wine but now I am very excited to apply what I've learned from Rafa. He did a terrific job and was super kind and friendly throughout the entire tasting. I ran a bit late because my GPS was confusing and he was waiting outside his little bar with a smile for me. I truly felt I understood some basics of wine making and tasting which is a great start for me. I can highly recommend this to anyone who wants to take a step into the world of wines.

My partner and I booked De Lima’s Wine bar (tasting) back in October 2019 and would definitely do it again!! Rafa (owner) was a delightful host! We had the best time and I feel like I’ve learned so much on types of wine and developed our own personal taste! Absolutely recommend!!! This experience was extremely fun and personable. Rafael has great knowledge on the world of wine. He dumbed down what could be a complex topic to one where anyone felt like they had room to participate. The scenery was intimate, and felt familial in a way. I would definitely recommend this activity, as it is a really good time!

A wonderful wine tasting on a cozy street in Porto. Rafael was extremely knowledgeable about wines and the tasting of wines and snacks was very generous. He taught us a lot and I feel better equipped to choose some wines in the future! Some former clients were texting him about weird wines that they found during the tasting, and he was very excited to hear about what his old clients were drinking and looked up info for them. A very passionate guy! Thanks so much Rafael!

Fantastic experience in an intimate setting.
Rafael was highly knowledgable, and my girlfriend and I came away with a far greater understanding of wine, including the growing and production process, and food pairings. This is all done in a light natured and fun way that felt really accessible.
This is not a typical 'drink local wine and see if you like it' tasting; this really helps you get under the skin of what you like and why, done so using interesting Portuguese wine and cheese (which are delicious!).
Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Man (Rafael) knows! He knows wines to their heart. And he does his job from his heart. It was the best wine degustation I have ever had and beeing an ex winebar owner, I had them quite a few. He led us through the degustation with such a passion and knowledge, you can rarely find. The wines (6 of them) were beautiful and carefuly selected for one to be able to see/taste/smell the differences and learn basics how to look for your perfect wine. Any beginer can easily follow but also more experienced wine people will enjoy discussing with such a PRO about the wines. The bites were also delicious. Rafael, don't change anything!

Rafa's wine tasting was hands down the most thoughtful I've ever done (having done quite a few). His pairings and the order of the tasting proved to me just how much food impacts your perception of what you drink; I'll never taste wine the same way again. Bravo.

Three of us participated in the wine and food tasting with Rafael and it was fantastic! He not only is incredibly knowledgeable, but is able to share that knowledge in a non-technical fashion that makes wine easily understandable. We’ve done wine tastings in many places — including at vineyards throughout the US and Europe — and this was the best ever! Wonderful experience at a very fair price!

My boyfriend and I had a really fantastic evening with Rafael. He is very knowledgeable and extremely welcoming. He made everyone feel at ease and encouraged everyone to participate. If you book anything in Porto, book a private wine tasting with Rafael. It was truly the highlight of our trip! Rafael is extremely knowledgeable about wine, but through the experience we gained practical knowledge we will absolutely take with us in the future. The tasting was personal, with only a few of us in the room so we were able to ask questions and get to know one another while learning about the wonderful wines and cheese/bread/meat pairings Rafael prepared for us. He cares deeply about the products, as well as the experience of the guests. Highly recommend and hope to return for another tasting in the future!! We learned so much in a short amount of time, we can’t stop talking about how wonderful it was! We will absolutely keep in touch! Thanks again!!

Rafael is the coolest wine expert out there. His approach and methodology to teaching was so informative, friendly, and even expert wine connoisseurs will walk away with something new. He was warm and welcoming, and has changed the way I’ll buy and enjoy wine. I live in the Bay Area and been to wine tastings in California wine country multiple times—this experience was more fun and informative than all of those combined. I booked the wine tasting through Airbnb Experiences, and I loved how small the group was. Would definitely recommend.

The perfect pre-dinner experience. Skip the pre-dinner drinks/bar and come here instead for some great wine, cheese/bread/meat and conversation. Learned a lot. Don't hesitate. Rafael was great.

Rafael is a wonderful host ! We learn a lot about wine, and the combination of it with food. We knows everything about it and he made us actively participate to this degustation. His English, French and Portuguese (obviously) are perfect. You can go with friends, in couple and even by yourself. At the end, you will feel any awkward moment by being alone. I will recommend it to my friends for sure !

Absolutely outstanding wine tasting experience where we learnt new things about wine we never knew despite years of drinking it! Very intimate and friendly setting, and Rafael was a deeply knowledgeable, approachable, and kind host. We also really got along with the other guest who were there. It all felt like we were a group of friends hanging out, with the added bonus of being a unique wine tasting experience. 11/10 would recommend.

Incredible! This was our first Airbnb experience and we weren't sure what to expect but we really enjoyed it. Rafael was amazing - his English was perfect and his knowledge of wine (and how he introduces you to it) were top notch. The place was intimate and the bread, cheese and wine all tasty, with 6 Portuguese wines. We came away so much more knowledgeable and excited about wine. Obrigado Rafael!

Rafael is the best! He is incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. My boyfriend and I had the wine tasting all to ourselves and learned so much! He made a point to get to know us and tell us about himself as well which was really nice. Answered every question we had and even gave us a bonus taste of two delicious port wines. Would 100% recommend this experience.

Cette expérience est unique et enrichissante. C’est dans une ambiance intime que nous accueille chaleureusement Rafael. Tout de suite, nous nous sentons les bienvenus. Il nous amène à découvrir le vin sous plusieurs angles et à apprendre à bien les décrire. Cette expérience convient autant aux amateurs qu’aux connaisseurs. What an amazing experience to be able to learn about wines in a new and refreshing way. Rafael made understanding wine finally a possibility. I along with my group have been to many wine tastings in the past taking away no tangible useful nuggets of information until now. Everything changed with this tasting. Raf is onto something with these tastings and I can't wait to share with any of my friends headed to Porto about him and his wine bar. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Rafael was an amazing host! I learned so much about wine, including how to read labels, how to pick out wine at home, and most importantly, how to taste wine. It was such a fun night and I'm so glad I booked it for my last night in Porto. It is worth the cost; this experience was priceless!

Tout est dit, dans ce qu'il propose : un parcours sur 3 blancs et 3 rouges, choisis spécialement pour expérimenter différentes facettes de la dégustation. Chacun affine ce qu'il apprécie dans les vins et part avec une palette de repères utiles pour ses prochains achats ou prochaines dégustations.
Rafael est citoyen international, ce qui est appréciable. Il est avant tout passionné et généreux. Merci Rafael pour ce beau moment partagé

Without a doubt the best airbnb experience we have tried. Rafa was truly a great (great great!) host. We learned a lot about wine, specifically Portuguese wine and culture. I recommend to do this tour in the beginning of your Porto visit as Rafa did also give os some great local tips and tricks. I really hope we will visit Porto again and if we do - we will give Rafa a visit and learn some more about Portuguese wine, rum or beer - or life, he seemes like he has it all under control :) Do this tasting - you 100% won't regret it (but be prepared to get a new perspecive on wine, he kind of ruined just ordering the "house wine" and be fine with it hahah)

Foi uma experiência inesquecível, superou todas as minhas expectativas! Rafael é um expert no que faz, compartilhou muito de seu conhecimento de forma simples e que pudéssemos assimilar facilmente, além de ser uma companhia muito agradável. Se preocupou com todos os detalhes,serviu uma deliciosa tábua de frios com um pão de pesto maravilhoso. Recomendo muito!!!!

Rafael is the coolest and you can see that he is really passionate about wines and about educating others. We loved how invested he got and how he really cares about us leaving smarter than before. He is the perfect person to do such experience.
