Nice hostel in the Seaside of Porto. Great location with the possibility of going to the city centre by bus easily. The staff is very nice and the hostel has very good energy. I highly recommend you having surf lessons with Bruno, amazing teacher and person!

If you are looking for an affordable way to stay in Porto for a few nights and meet other travelers from around the world, and to surf- look no further! This is the place. It was clean, in a great location (20-30 min transit to main downtown area), provided breakfast, and lastly but most importantly the surf instruction was excellent. Bruno taught our small group of beginner surfers with such patience and enthusiasm and was a very down-to-earth guy. He knew exactly which board and wetsuit was the correct size for each of us, (just by looking at us once!) Wetsuit and board rental are included in the surfing lesson price too. He got me to pop up on my board on the sixth try, and in his surfing instruction, in addition to technique, he also focused on safety- which is very important and appreciated! We enjoyed our experience very much and will definitely be back!

Really nice stay, nice vibes and lovely staff. The place is clean, located right in front of the beach, although not a "surfable" beach because of the rocks. The beach where you surf is a 15/20min walk from the hostel but you're driven there if you take surf lessons. The surf teacher is reassuring, chill, and encouraging. All in all, really recommend !

Location, Instructor und Mitarbeitende sind toll, mega gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Es gibt sogar einen kleinen süßen Garten, in dem eine Hängematte zum entspannen einlädt. Ein Supermarkt ist direkt um die Ecke. Bis zum Centrum ist es nicht weit mit dem Bus, abgesehen davon kann man auch ganz bequem an der Promenade entlang laufen und den Atlantik bestaunen. Zum Surfen ist es vor allem für AnfängerInnen geeignet. Wer allerdings mehr Erfahrung hat kann auch auf den näcshten open Spot (Lessa) ausweichen und sich da austoben. Very nice place to stay, localized directly at Porto seaside. The bus to the centre departs all 15 mins. The hostel itself was very clean. Unfortunately the weather was cold, so the house without heating got cold too. Take your pullover! The staff was very helpful and nice. Pablo took me even for a tour through the nightlife in Porto.

Das Hostel bereitete uns einen mega schönen und unkomplizierten dreitägigen Aufenthalt direkt am Strand zum Surfen lernen. Die beste Erfahrung war definitv der Surfunterricht. Dank kompetenten Lehrer und perfekten Surfbedingungen für Anfänger, spürten wir schnell Erfolg. Das Frühstück umfasst alles was man braucht! Das Personal war ebenfalls jung und dynamisch, sodass man auch gemeinschaftliche Aktivitäten startete. Wir werden definitiv wieder vorbei schauen!

Klare Empfehlung! Das Hostel ist gemütlich und man kann die anderen Gäste und freundlichen Mitarbeiter super kennenlernen. Der Surfunterricht wird von tollen Lehrern durchgeführt und ist absolut bezahlbar. Ich war von meinem Aufenthalt begeistert!

You can expect a very nice, small and clean hostel with very friendly people working there. If you want to learn surfing or progress in surfing I could not imagine a better place. You will have very nice beginner and intermediate friendly waves in Matosinhos and the best surf instructor you can hope for. Bruno made me progress a LOT in a short time and to have lots of fun in the ocean for what I am very grateful!! Tiago can recommend you very nice portugese food to check out in the city center, so don´t miss that! I only have a small negative point which is that I had hardly wifi in my room (No. 5) but in the living room there was no problem with the connection. Maybe this could be fixed some time but I cannot see any point why not to go this hostel!

The place itself, the people and the surf experience are great! The hostel is welcoming and clean and offers breakfast for everybody which can be eaten in the wonderful backyard. Surf equipment is in a great condition and the surf instructor is doing an awesome job with the perfect balance between supporting you and letting you try for yourself. Location is also great, right at the ocean and the bus for the city leaves directly in front of the hostel. Highly recommend the place!

That was an awesome 1 week experience for me. I went there alone in March and i enjoyed it so much. The place is beautiful and quite , right in front of the beach and very close to downtown Porto. Bruno is one of the best instructors i have had surfing. Thank you very much ,i would totally recommend that surf hostel and would go back again!

This hostel made me stay in Porto for longer than I had anticipated beforehand. Lovely staff, clean bedrooms, bathrooms & kitchen and a wonderful location (right at the waterside, with a bus stop in front that brings you to city centre). Also, there is free parking around the corner. I would definetely stay here again!

Very polite service, only 10 minutes walk from Matosinhos. Good breakfast and super clean all around.

Wir sind zufällig auf das Hostel gestoßen. Es war dennoch kein Problem direkt 2 Betten in einem Mehrbettzimmer zu bekommen. Das Hostel hatte alles was man braucht. Die Lage ist super, die Preise stimmen auch. Sie Surflehrer sind einfach nur spitze. Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Es treiben sich ständig nette und interessante Menschen aus aller Welt in dem Hostel, eingeschlossen der Staff. Es gab einige schöne, gemeinschaftliche Abende in dem Hostel. Wir hatten einfach eine großartige Zeit!

Got lucky with this sweet place. Ideal location in front of the ocean with a bus line in front that goes right to the center. Groovy place.

Our stay at surfivor Hosten in Porto was compleatly awesome. The location is perfect, the breakfast delicious and the staff is extremly helpful and nice. Bruno and his Team were excellent surf instructors and motivated us bloody beginners to go into the water every day despite fog, rain and cold weather. They had useful tipps for all of us and were just great company in our breaks between the surf sessions. We didn't get the video analysis of our surf attempts but that didn't matter to us, since Bruno and the other instructors gave us feedback during the surf lessons anyway. In the description they say, that the transport to the beach is included, but that is only true for the surf boards. But that's also ok, because the 2 km walk to the beach is really beautiful. Highly recomment staying in this hostel!

War hier eine Woche um ein wenig surfen zu lernen. Hatten super Coaches die uns Surfen beigebracht haben, super nett und hilfsbereit(Laura, Charlie und Enrico) Es hat super viel Spaß gemacht und man fühlt sich sehr familiär dort, versteht sich schnell mit allen Leuten und ist eine große Gemeinschaft. Es gab viele Angebote wie Volleyball, Yoga, Pilates, aber man konnte sich auch einfach ein Fahrrad oder Longboard leihen, um in die Stadt zu fahren. Am zweiten Tag gab es ein BBQ war echt richtig gut geschmeckt hat. Über die Location muss ich gar nicht erst anfangen, es ist 2 Minuten höchstens vom Strand weg!

We had a great time at the hostel! The location is great, ocean and beach cafes are right at the doorstep and it is very easy to get to the city centre of Porto! It's a small, cosy hostel with a nice garden to chill in :) Surf instructors are very experienced and easy to talk to, lessons are focused on surf coaching rather than directive teaching.

THANKS !!! Surfivor camp (Esmoriz) was such a great surprise! My first surfcamp, the group was awesome, from couples with kids to friends to solo travelers, the place was always super clean (thank you Rosa!), the instructors are fun but serious (thanks Charlie!) and leaving the camp was like leaving a big family. The dorms are a bit small but we were only 4 so it was ok. The common areas are really great, big outside table that can be used even if it rains, big kitchen, fresh grass... It makes encounters really easy. The surf itself was top quality, the waves really good, the theory and trainong too, I would just have loved a video session in smaller waves to correct how we stand. The breakfast is really good quality, never lacking cheese, ham, cereals, fresh orange juice and bread! Some activities like barbecue / going to festival in Porto or to a film festival in Espinho were perfect. But seriously, this is an easy 5stars, don't go to Marocco / Costa Rica / ... go there! For advanced surfers it's still ok, half people had 1 week or more of surf, the other half complete beginners. Merciiiiiii !!!!

My husband and I had an amazing time this past week at Surfivor in Porto! Special shout out to our surf coach Bruno for giving us the best quality surf lessons we could have asked for. Thanks to him I'm finally able to catch waves on my own and understand wave selection so much more. He is extremely skilled, patient, and super down to earth. Also, thank you to the staff at Surfivor (Izzy, Julia, Nilo...) for being extremely welcoming to us during our week long stay at the hostel. They were super fun, helpful, and the rooms were spotless! We definitely plan on returning again someday :)

Without doubt the best hostel I have ever stayed. Its a bit far from the city center, but the view of the beach, cleanliness, and breakfast is amazing, and the local staff are even better. When I go to Porto again I will not look for another hostel, for the price they charge I have no doubt that this is the best in town.

Super tolles freundliches Personal :-) Toiletten sowie Duschen sauber. Frühstück sehr lecker...Obst, Säfte, Kaffee, Schinken, Käse, Honig usw...alles was das Herz begehrt. Surfen ist auch mega, danke an den sehr geduldigen Surflehrer Bruno ;-) Wir sind noch bis Sonntag hier und jetzt schon komplett glücklich. Vielen dank!

We were with friends in Porto for surfing and I definitely recommend to stay in Surfivor Hostel. We also had a surf lesson with Bruno and he was awesome!

Great location (only 15 min by public transport to the historic center), very nice, comfortable and clean place, generous breakfast, top value for money price. And the best: the people here are really friendly and will make you feel good. It was like at home, but with an incredible scenery around! Highly recommended:)

Great atmosphere, super nice and kind staff. I was there with a friend to surf and we had a great time at the nearby beach. Unfortunately waves were not that big for somebody with some experience, but for absolute beginners was good enough. Instructors are very prepared and being able to use the equipment all week long is a huge plus! Just one tip: don't drink tap water if you're not used to Porto's bacteria xD

Nice place and friendly staff. I learned a lot about surfing here. You will meet a lot of friendly people from around the world. The staff speaks English fluently. The atmosphere is great. Beds are comfortable and the house is clean. Breakfast is good.

Great place! I travelled alone and met awesome people at the hostel! The surf teachers Bruno and Albert are very patient and I improved a lot. Also great theory lessons. Hope to come back soon!

Amazing place, with incredible people. I had my first solo travel experience, and I am glad to say that it was a tremendous success! I got the pleasure to meet incredible people, with different backgrounds (mostly German), who made me laugh. Bruno (surf teacher) is a professional, and he always gives tips on how to improve your surf skills faster. Definitely recommend the place.

Beautiful Hostel right across from the beach...our room even had an amazing view of the ocean. Cozy shared areas like living and dining rooms, and of course great surf lessons and experience. We felt very taken care of and we miss it already! Thanks for a wonderful holiday !

Great surf hostel with really nice people taking care of you during your stay. The hostel is directly located to the sea so you can walk to the beach & surf spot and it´s also very easy and takes not much time to get into the city. So all in all a very nice place to stay in Porto. Thanks to Bruno, our surf instructor, to Tiago and Viktoria and to our ma(te)id Raphael :-D for the nice time.
