The emphasis of Momentos is fresh produce and meat minus filler starches. We had a lovely chat with owner/chef on his philosophy on local ingredients and focus on natural flavors of food. I love how each dish extenuate the flavors of each meat, seafood or vegetable rather than overpowering them with seasoning. This place is a must if you visit Evora.

Piatti tipici locali, tutti gli ingredienti sono della cittadina Évora. Il personale molto gentile spiega con il menu e ogni piatto in ogni piccolo dettaglio. Lo chef parla anche italiano e chiede sempre il parere dei clienti durante la cena.

Ate impromptu with a party of 6. All found our host entertaining and warm with an obvious passion for his menu. The welcome was warm and very informal, followed by a fabulous run through of the finer details of the menu. All choices were excellently presented and perfectly cooked...needless to say they were thoroughly enjoyed too. Service was pleasant and not intrusive. Would absolutely return if in the area again.

En una palabra... Perfecto. El dueño del restaurante, que además es el creador de los platos y el cocinero, es un auténtico anfitrión. Explica la carta, presenta los productos frescos sin cocinar para una mejor elección, etc. Todo lo que hemos comido estaba espectacular, una mezcla de sabores q te sorprenderá. Hemos ido con niños y les ha encantado. Creo que no es caro para la calidad ofrecida. Lo recomendamos si o si.

Magnífico restaurante, una inesperada joya gastronómica que sorprende en cada plato por la acertadísima combinación de sabores, texturas y colores. El dueño es amable, atento, simpático y políglota. No sólo nos dio de comer magníficamente, sino que nos recomendó un sitio en nuestro destino de vacaciones, Setúbal, que también resultó ser estupendo. Repetiré, sin duda, en otro v viaje en el que pueda probar los vinos, que es la asignatura que me ha quedado pendiente (tenía que conducir).

Não encontro palavras para descrever a maravilhosa comida que é feita aqui. É tudo muito bom! O vinho biológico é delicioso, bem como as bochechas de porco, passando pelo prato dos cogumelos selvagens com ervas aromáticas. As sobremessas são divinas. O atendimento é exemplar. Uma ressalva, aqui não servem nem massas, nem arroz, nem batatas fritas para acompanhamento. Mas também não é preciso. A comida é sempre acompanhada com algo que não estamos à espera. Recomendo para todos os que gostam de comer bem e diferente. É muito bom!

We had a wonderful experience. Chef George has a personal approach to the food and service and worked hard to ensure that everything was done right. I had tomato soup, tuna and grilled vegetables all of which were farm to table, prepared with natural spices and smooth olive oil, using Chef George’s personal recipes. By far the best meal we had during our trip to Portugal! Of course the walk to the ancient Roman temple ruins afterwards added to the experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Em Évora, sem dúvida um dos Restaurantes que mais aconselho. Sou vegetariano, e pese embora já tivesse chegado tarde para jantar, tanto o chef como o restante staff do restaurante foram 5 estrelas. Um restaurante muito acolhedor, com um principal destaque para a simpatia e acolhimento dado pelo chef, aquando da refeição. Preocupação constante com os clientes, sobre o estado da refeição, manifestada através de visitas curtas e de demonstrada preocupação pelo bem estar do cliente. Nada a apontar. Na próxima visita a Évora sem dúvida que vou lá voltar.

Super Restaurant- du musst es nur finden. Der Chef liest dir die Speisekarte in perfektem Deutsch vor und sein Kellner zeigt dir direkt die frischen Speisen aus denen die Gerichte zubereitet werden. Wer Nudeln , Pommes oder sonstige Beilagen braucht ist hier falsch- die Beilagen werden nur aus frischen Gemüsen zubereitet. Suppe aus dem Glas passt dazu.

The owner, Jorge, was very welcoming and explained his menu thoroughly. His food combinations and creativity are out of this world! As you can see, his plating is outstanding. Provavelmente a experiência mais extravagante que já vivi num restaurante. Eu compreendo que o chef tenha orgulho no que faz e no seu restaurante, mas aquela apresentação inicial é despropositada e podia muito bem ser feita por um dos seus colaboradores. As constantes interrupções são escusadas, se uma pessoa vai a um restaurante com amigos é para estar com eles, senti que perdi mais tempo a ouvir o chef do que a confraternizar. A comida é boa, não tenho nada a apontar a isso, contudo considero os preços exorbitantes para o que é servido. O momento a não repetir certamente.

Foi uma experiência muito peculiar. Muita intrusão do chef que não parava de nos abordar para se gabar. Só valeu pela simpatia dum colaborador que nos atendeu. A ideia do local é muito boa, parcerias com produtores locais, mas não é preciso ouvir isso durante a refeição inteira.

Im Vorbeigehen leicht zu übersehen. Unbedingt vorher Plätze reservieren! Portugiesische Küche - mal etwas extravaganter interpretiert. Etwas preisintensiver, aber selten besser gegessen - Top-Weinempfehlung dazu. Volle 5 Sterne - definitiv keine Touristenfalle. Lässt es euch schmecken.

Dinner was excellent. Good food and excellent service. The presentation was very nice...the meal was artfully arranged on a slate tile and it looked as good as it tasted. The owner spent time talking with all the diners. The evening was very enjoyable and the price was very fair for such a wonderful dinner.

This meal was a highlight of our entire 2+ week trip to Portugal! The staff was so friendly. Our waitress, Claudia, even made sure out 4 y/o son was entertained the whole time. The real star was the food, though! Fresh, seasoned perfectly and presented beautifuly. The menu is constantly changing based on seasonal ingredients. After eating a subpar, super heavy meal the night before, this meal was exactly what we needed! I highly recommend...but make a reservation!

Gran experiencia. El trato es excepcional, por parte de todo el personal y durante toda la cena. No es un sitio económico, pero el previo que pagas es debido a la calidad de la comida, que no solo está muy bien presentada sino que además tiene gran sabor. The salmon with fig is perfectly cooked and not dry (~19€). The seared tuna with cinnamon pears was also excellent. I enjoyed dipping the fish into differently spices for different flavors. The waiters were attentive and kind. Even the chef took the time to chat with his guests and was very fun and social. He was kind enough to serve a few complimentary appetizers/sides inbetween our orders, which was a first for us! You can tell the chef loves what he does and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone enjoys their time at his restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic! We came for an early lunch on a Sunday as we were flying home that night, clearly a popular place as many of the tables were reserved by locals. The hospitality is attentive but not annoying, they are very welcoming and friendly and clearly want to make sure you are enjoying your food! The local white wine is delicious. The menu must change as the produce is all sourced locally but we ate the tomato soup and peach and ham salad to start, the latter which my husband said was the best salad ever! We both had pork for mains, mine with figs and port, husband’s was pork cheeks cooked in wine, and both were delicious. A great hole-in-the-wall find, highly recommend!

Restaurant étonnant. Le chef vous présente ces plats qui par leur intention ont l'air très bon avec des mélanges de saveurs que l'on en a l'eau à la bouche. Mais le résultat est décevant, poisson et viande trop cuit, mélange de produits qui ne se marie pas ( jambon de thon avec des fruits pour l'entrée) et le chef peut être un peu trop sûr de son art culinaire vous maintient que vous vous régalez... Les produits qu'il travail sont bon mais la façon dont il les cuisine est farfelu et manque d'une vrai technique.

Big charade. The "chef" (does he actually prepare the dishes or does he just wear the outfit?) presents the menu while the waiters have to perform the same dance over and over at every table with showing plates of food as examples. He treats the waiters diminishing. One of them was almost shaking in his shoes. I went there because i read good reviews on eating vegetarian there. I got mushrooms. They were lovely. But just mushrooms dont make a meal... no rice/potatoes/side dish whatsoever. I paid 16 euros for a plate of just mushrooms. Lovely mushrooms. But eh... 16 euros?!

Una gratísima y exquisita sorpresa! Este pequeño restaurante familiar (difícil de encontrar porque su entrada pasa desapercibida) supera con creces las expectativas. La mezcla de sabores en cada plato es pura magia. Su carta es extensa y con muchas opciones vegetarianas, todo elaborado con productos locales y ecológicos. No paséis por Evora sin conocerlo.

Disappointing! We came because of the positive recommendations in the site and found it pretentious and extremely expensive for what we got in return. We had to complain about the bad smell and taste of the tuna fish and till we came back to the hotel we had diarrhea and stomach pain. The service was good but we felt sorry for the staff having to repeat the same show again and again for every guest. The dishes far too small. We won't be back!

Continuamos con una ensalada y una fritura en tempura de flor de calabacín, este último fue el único plato aceptable. Tras sopesar calidad - precio nos retiramos a tiempo. La cuenta unos 40€. Bebimos 2 colas y agua fresca. Juzgue cada uno.

From the moment we stumbled upon this modest restaurant to our departure, we felt incredibly valued, respected, and blown away! The chef was so friendly and gave us a very personal experience that made us feel included every step of the way. Mr. George catered to our pallets and even modified existing menu items to accentuate flare. He is wonderfully skilled and has a keen sense of flavor with an underlying theme of health conscious choices. This restaurant does not just turn out staple dishes, they are cooking for you personally. We enjoyed all of the caring staff members and were very pleased by the intermittent course offerings from the chef throughout our meal. Can’t recommend this place enough, you have to try it for yourself!

Malaise à cet endroit. Propriétaire qui essaie trop et par conséquent on est dérangé à chaque 5 minute pour se faire demander si tout va bien ou si on aime notre assiette. Proprio semble très (trop) fier de ses plats. Me dit qu’il a mis du fromage de chèvre dans ma salade comme si c’était la septième merveille du monde. Le fromage était très bas de gamme, le genre que je n’achète même pas à l’épicerie, tout ça dans une salade de tomates/verdure qui m’a coûté 11.50€!!!! Bien trop cher. Et la canelle déposée en tas sur les bords de mon assiette n’avait aucun rapport.

The food and service here is unbelievable. I started with prawns and strawberries with cinnamons and vanilla - a daring flavor combination - and then moved on to lightly seared tuna and a mix of mashed vegetables of various flavors and textures. The owner and chef is a jovial fellow who is happy to make recommendations; the waitresses are friendly and attentive. If you're in the area and you pass it over, you're making a mistake.

Fell on this place by accident. One of the great pleasures of traveling is coming upon the unexpected. Had an extraordinary meal here. Amazing food prepared fresh by a chef artist who creates his meals rather than simply turning them out. The service was warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. And the highlight was the great conversations with the owner who explained the dishes he created, along with conversations of food, literature, philosophy and life. Probably one of the best dining experiences of our time in Portugal and that is saying something as we are both immense foodies and my partner was once a five star chef.

Cómo es habitual nuestra búsqueda de platos aptos para intolerantes al gluten nos llevó a este pequeño restaurante. Nos explicaron perfectamente cada uno de los platos que componían la carta del día y nos explicaron que podían adaptarnos aquellos que contuvieran harina, pues cuentan con harina sin gluten. Los productos de la carta frescos te lo muestran cuando te explican los platos, sacándonos en bandejas las setas, así como los pescados y carnes con la que los van a hacer. Te explican la elaboración del plato y cualquier duda te la solucionan rápidamente. Todas las personas que trabajan allí nos atendieron con mucha amabilidad y qué decir de lo que comimos, todos los platos estaban súper ricos.

Présentation appliquée des plats mais trop de mélange de saveurs. On a du mal à apprécier tellement c'est le chaos dans notre bouche. Quelle gachi pour de la lotte. En résumé: l'emballage est beau mais le cadeau, pourri. Plats prétentieux tout comme le chef qui se vante d'avoir travaillé dans un grand restaurant français. Trop cher pour un pseudo restaurant "gastronomique ".

Un restaurante con una marcada personalidad. Pasa desapercibido cuando se pasea por la calle frente a la catedral, pero no hay más que ver las valoraciones en la red para que capte nuestra atención. Te explican la carta con mucha amabilidad, re enseñan el género (carnes y pescados) y son muy fans de la sostenibilidad a la hora de preparar sus menús. La procedencia de los alimentos es muy cercana y defienden muy bien esta convicción. Un restaurante que resulta ser una parada obligatoria.

Such a great experice! Food is amazing fresh and the service is courteous. We travel a lot and this is one of our best experiences yet . We were on a walking tour and hence had to rush. The owner opened the restaurant for us before official opening time and made it his priority to rush our food without sacrificing the quality. My son is a picky eater and everyone was so patient with him. Thank you team at Momentos we will try our best to be back!

The chef not only cooks and serves food but he sells an individualized event to his guests, explaining origins, flavours and textures of carefully chosen ingredients and suggesting possible food combinations that will best please the clients palate. Service is very attentive and food is delicious.

De acordo com Pedro Oliveira. Se lá forem, paguem só depois deles apresentarem a fatura. Quando a pedi, deram-me apenas um pequeno papel com a totalidade, onde não tive a possibilidade de conferir o que se consumiu. Tinham problemas com o computador... Que ma enviavam por mail. Passou mais de um mês e ainda não ma enviaram. Foi necessário expôr o caso à Autoridade Tributária para aparecer no e-faturas... Além desta situação, o serviço não justifica o que paguei. Não tenciono voltar, nem recomendo.

Aqui está um bom exemplo de como um restaurante com boa comida, não é um bom restaurante. Aqui deixo a minha experiência: Pontos positivos: Excelente apresentação dos pratos. Fusão muito agradável de sabores com legumes e fruta de produtores locais. Pontos negativos: Falta de privacidade: excesso de intervenção, ainda que simpática, por parte dos funcionários e proprietário, durante o jantar (de 2 em 2 minutos éramos abordados). Excessiva explicação da ementa por parte do proprietário, com repetições constantes nas mesas vizinhas. Valores exorbitantes face à qualidade do restaurante em si: Sem ar condicionado; Casas de banho básicas; "escritório"desorganizado à vista dos clientes, cheio de pastas e papéis espalhados em frente ao balcão. Apresentação da conta sem valores descriminados. Posteriormente solicitamos fatura e detectamos pela mesma que cobraram por "engano" 20€ a mais, por uma garrafa de vinho em vez de um copo (coitados dos turistas estrangeiros...). Preço passou dos 76€ para 56€ para 2 pessoas. Comemos uma entrada, 2 pratos principais, um copo de vinho e um café. Conclusão: Um "momentos" a não repetir.

Hands down the best restaurant we have ever been at. The owner is so passionte about his locally sourced produce and that shows in the food he serves. The meals are so well put together and the flavours explode in your mouth. The fact that dishes are served with vegetables and not the typical rice and other gluten traps is another plus that sets this restaurant on another forefront. We were extremely well waited on too. This is a MUST stop!

Great personal interaction with the chef, interesting food (some good, some great -- especially the lamb), and a chance to try a variety of unexpected flavor combinations. Given that and the ambiance, I expected to pay more, but it was reasonable. All in all, highly recommended.

I found this fine restaurant first in internet before my Portugal trip. A nice surprise since it was better than I could imagined. They are proud and confident about the food they create, and try to ensure everyone has being pleased the new innovations. I like the food that give me new visual inspiration and good taste meanwhile.

Pequeño restaurante intimo en Evora...decorado con gusto y con una atención excelente por parte del personal...todo esto no sería algo excepcional sino se completase con una comida increíble, con productos locales y del país....el atún de madeira es de lo mejor que he probado fuera de barbate.

This restaurant is a nice departure from the more traditional Portuguese cooking. I ordered partridge which was served deboned and accompanied with various vegetables. I had two complains: one with the chef-recommended wine which I found underwhelming for the price and the other with the desert which consisted of multiple thin layers of custard, but a bland taste that was quickly forgotten.

Superb. Top 10 restaurants we have ever been to. Excellent staff, amazing proprietor. A true Portuguese and Évora experience with some great food focused on fresh, local, organic. Wonderful vegetarian the best we had in Portugal as well as local meat and fresh fish. Go here! You won't regret it - call for reservations to be sure you get a seat!!!

Una buena experiencia. Lo mejor es su personal. Se nota que les gusta lo que hacen y lo trasmiten en sus platos. Siempre ina sonrisa siempre atentos a los detalles. Al salir nos regaló una seleccion de verduras para que las cocinaramos en casa... lo dicho. Amor por su trabajo.

I had my "moment" 2 years ago and I got so impressed I decided to go back and try it once more. Guess what?! Another amazing "moment"! Food made with tender and dedication. Humble and unpretentious food, but with unbelievable flavours, textures, structures and colours. The service was very good. Smiles, sympathy and politeness all the time. Just one remark I can't resist. My glass of white wine was filled by half just because the bottle was near empty when I was served! I realized that by the time I got my second glass. Small detail in all the good things this restaurant has to offer. A piece of advise! Don't go there expecting to have a Michelin rated meal experience. It's not about that, I believe. This place is something else, something unique, very close to its roots and with its own identity (Jorge's identity if I may say). Go, experience and you won't regret!

The food I had here was astounding. I had a simple tomato soup paired with fig, then partridge on a base of apple sauce with grapes, balsamic, mixed greens, and some amazing red berries. Every bite was a different mix and wonderful. Sadly you won't be able to get what I had. The owner makes a new menu every night based on the ingredients at hand. I raved about the figs and he sent me home with some. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I may travel to Evora again just to eat here.

Étant donné les précédents commentaires, nous avons été très déçus! Cher et un peu prétentieux comparé à ce qui est réellement dans l'assiette... Le patron est sympathique et parle français, ce qui est pratique en effet. Mais la cuisine qui se veut gastronomique et recherchée est assez maladroite, trop de goûts associés, pas toujours avec bonheur. Vin sans intérêt, dommage en Alentejo! Et le tout pour 60€ à deux (couverts, 2 entrées, un plat de poisson partagé -attention aux quantités au Portugal!- 2 desserts et 2 verres de vin) vraiment excessif pour le coin! Bref, mieux vaut aller dans un restau typique des villages environnants, où le repas sera certes plus simple, mais sans doute délicieux, et beaucoup moins onéreux (max 30€ à deux)!

I had a great time during last weekend. 先週末にここで素敵な時間を過ごしました。 The great food especially the vegetables were so sweet and both fish and meet were also "muito bon". ごはん、特に野菜が甘く美味しく、お肉も魚も素晴らしかった。 What I appreciated the most was their hospitality:)) それ以上に彼らのホスピタリティに感動しました。 So kind the owner gave me a recommendation for shops and indicated me the opening time for church. 教会の空いてる時間だけでなく、良いお店を教えてくれたり In addition to that the lady working at the restaurant (very cute) kindly tried to help me find the ear-ring, when I met her at the city. (Outside restaurant!) レストランの業務外で会ったのに、イアリングの買える場所を親切に教えてくれました。 There is no wonder that I ate twice in row at the restaurant;)) 気付いたら2日連続で夜お世話になってました。
