Staff were friendly, although perhaps a little understaffed (on arrival day there was only one staff member to do everything). Had a generally good experience with this location.

We had a very good experience with this location. We had great concern about car rentals from the generally poor reviews posted about most Portugal locations. We had the most positive experience with two staff that helped us first book at the counter and then on a pickup on a different day. Pleasant, courteous and straightforward. The pre-arrangements matched what was delivered, everything was as it was stated. I believe this office to be reputable and the staff appear to be working hard to shake off some of the ill-will that this industry has been associated with. Thank you for the professionalism and leaving us with a positive memory.

Só não ganharam 5 estrelas por quererem empurrar adicionais. A atendente me convenceu a colocar o via verde e pagar 7 euros a mais no alugue por isso, sendo que em Portugal as portagens eletrônicas podem ser pagas via internet. Não havia necessidade de agir de má-fé empurrando a locação do via verde.

The address of the Avis location is wrong, it is very hard to find since it is supposed to be in the São Bento Station but isn’t. It also took me over an hour to get the car. I wouldn’t rent a car at that shop again.

La presente per segnalare quanto mi è capitato. Ritiro dell’automobile Presso Stazione Campanha di Porto e chiedo di poterla riconsegnare all’aeroporto di Porto la mattina seguente. All’accettazione mi fanno firmare elettronicamente su di uno schermo le condizioni contrattuali e mi chiedono se volevo la copia cartacea o elettronica. Opto per la seconda. Successivamente l’impiegata mi porta nel buio parcheggio sotterraneo dove con la luce del telefono mi fa visionare la macchina, tra l’altro di colore nero. Faccio notare che alcuni segni nel parafango posteriore destro, l’impiegata sempre con il telefonino mi dice che ha effettuato la modifica.Alla riconsegna in aeroporto mi vengono contestati quei segni e , dopo varie discussioni, il problema, sembrava fosse rientrato. Durante il check-in mi arriva un messaggio da parte di Fineco che mi avvisa di un addebito di 682,30. Ad ora non ho ricevuto né il contratto da me firmato tantomeno cosa mi è stato addebitato. Tengo a precisare che alla riconsegna non ho firmato nulla anche perché non mi è stata richiesta. Tutto questo davanti a 3 testimoni. A.R:

Do not pick up or return your car to this location. Very strict and unfriendly. They will sell you or charge you for something to make more money.

Mala atención aunque no tuvimos problemas con el auto.

We called to let them know we are going to be a little late in returning our rental car (15-20 min) because my son got motion sickness in the car and we had to stop. The agent said since they are closed at 1:00, I can bring the car at 3:00 when they reopen and said to be there at exact 3:00 and he will talk to the manager to wave the late fee. We were waiting outside their location at 3:00 and talked to Bernardo who was very rude and disrespectful and charged us 275 euros and said the other agent had no authority to promise anything. I asked for the manager and he said there is no manager in the location, and I have to call the corporate. I called their corporate office and their office said the location manager has to cancel the 275 euros and corporate office cant help. I filed a complaint with their office and went back to the location the day after. A nice lady helped me and apologized and gave me the manager's email address. After 4 weeks of emailing back and forth and wasting so much time on both sides, they gave us the money back but half back on our credit card and the other half Avis credit to use in Europe only. We filed another complaint with their corporate office and finally after 3 months got our full refund. I will never use Avis again and they need to train their staff to be more understanding as respectful to their customers. The sad part is that we were preferred plus members and never been this much disrespected by Avis.

Worst rental car experience ever. As someone that rents from Avis Budget all the time, I feel like this location is a complete scam. They charged me +$300 for tiny scratches on the bumper that were there when I picked up the vehicle. The woman behind the counter said there was nothing she could do about it, but said they would be in touch about my dispute (which never happened).

Avoid at ALL COSTs. Car booked at 9.00 am. So slow service. One client in 30 minutes. Then they took care of someone who arrived after everyone and was speaking Portuguese... The service was horrible. One of the Staff members was very rude, he treated us like we are nobody!

Horrible service! Stay away I was treated very disrespectfully. There is no place to park the car, and I almost got a ticket from a police yelling at me and returning a car is very difficult as they close for two hours for no reason when other Avis locations in the area are open from morning to evening. Avoid this location and save your dignity.
