The location has stunning views, the staff are so friendly and call you by name, the food is amazing and the thought and detail that went into every aspect of the hotel made it just so charming and lovely.

Highly recommend!! Excellent service with high quality food and wine. Made reservation for dinner, arrived a bit early to walk around, beauty facility and environment. Food is excellent, with a fixed price (35 euro) for 3 course menu. They change menu everyday which will definitely happily surprise their guest. Very detail orientated, provide 5 star services. Recommend to take their wine tasting pairing. Best wine of my trip in Douro. Must try!!!!

Everything about this place was absolutely perfect, from the room, to the grounds, to the setting, to the food, wine, and staff. The Quinta is impeccably and tastefully designed. It features a good-size infinity pool (albeit a bit too cold to fully enjoy during our stay) with comfortable loungers, a beautiful patio where you can have a drink amongst fruit trees, interior dining space, exterior balcony dining space, tasting room and family room with a pool table, large TV, and games. You can roam through the vineyards and along the river, and even take out SUPs or kayaks (no charge). There is a fire pit and an area with chickens and goats! You can pet them! This is the best!! The wine they make there was the best that we tried in the Douro Valley and was very good value. We will look into getting this shipped to the UK! The food was amazing. The dinners are set 3 course meals (35 euros) with an optional wine pairing (25 euros), which we did both nights. The included breakfast had a large spread of options and even fresh juices, espresso drinks, and an egg station. The staff was just amazing. The clean up and turn-down service was always on-point and really appreciated, and they even left rosemary cookies each night. The dining staff were attentive and accommodating to anyone with dining restrictions. The master wine maker was there during dinner service to tell you more about the wines and make recommendations. We got a very nice upgrade to the private pool suite, which was just gorgeous. The bed and pillows were the best I've slept on in a hotel. The room included a wine fridge stocked with their wines (not for free, but it was very convenient). They include shampoo, conditioner, and soap that they make themselves in the bathroom. The remote control blackout blinds worked very well. The view out of the large floor to ceiling windows was beautiful. You can sit on your private deck with a glass on wine and just enjoy!

Quinta de São Bernardo is a dream – one of the best places we’ve ever been. It was the perfect getaway and everything about it was immaculate – from the service, to the delicious food and wines – all made right on site, the amazingly friendly staff and all the personal touches that made our stay so special. The layout of the farmhouse is stunning, everything is incredibly clean and there are so many fun things to do on site. The wine tour/tasting with Pedro, the winemaker, was such a fun experience and so personalized. I can’t imagine a better place to stay in the Douro Valley and can’t recommend it more!

This place somehow manages to combine the comforts of home with the luxury and service of a hotel. All of the staff are friendly and wonderful and everything is done with amazing thought and care; especially the meals. A beautiful breakfast spread is included in the stay and we chose to have dinner and a wine pairing each night we were there. The meals were all delicious. A particular highlight was the wine tasting, which was done with the winemaker himself, Pedro. He is engaging, smart and provided a wonderful experience.Everything about our stay was perfect, all at a price that was more than reasonable. Just go! You wont regret it.

This place is amazing. Every thing is so accurate and fine. The food, both breakfast and dinner (especially dinner) were so good!! The service was so nice! We can't wait to come back on our next vacation. My best tip, while you are staying there dont leave the place its the best thing you can do.

A gem of a find! We found this place via google maps and decided to visit based on good reviews. We were blown away with the friendly staff (particularly Joe and Pedro). They made us feel really welcome and took time out to talk with us. The food was very nice, and the wines we tried were outstanding. Would highly recommend this place to visit for lunch - 5 out of 5!!

Super nice family run winery and hotel. We spent the day, had a short tasting and look much forward to receive our wine ordered.

This hotel is perfection! A small farmhouse and winery which is a slice of luxury. The service was fantastic, with friendly owners and staff for whom no request was a problem. They were able to help us plan a day trip to Pinhao, with great advice on where to go and what to do. There is a winery onsite, and the tour and wine tasting was fantastic - some fabulous wines, all of which are served in the restaurant. There is a set 3 course menu each night (every night we were there the food was delicious - all made with fresh, local ingredients), but the team are able to accommodate any requests or requirements. The outdoor areas are beautiful with an infinity pool overlooking the valley and the river, a lovely terrace, and even activities to be tried on the river such as kayaking. During the day there is a fantastic lunch menu including snacks and more substantial burgers. The room we had was very comfortable and beautifully decorated with exposed wooden beams. Even though it faced the rail line, we barely noticed the trains when they passed. If you dont have a car when visiting, the nearest train station (Barquieros) is only a short walk away - however, not many trains stop there. Rede train station is the next closest, and a taxi from there was approx E15.This hotel is a little slice of paradise, and we will definitely be returning at some point to escape the world!

Extremely beautiful, cozy, picturesque, magical and well managed winery. Everyone is warm and welcoming - top notch rooms and views you can't appreciate until you're there. Would recommend to visit several times over.

If you've stumbled upon this place and considering booking do not hesitate. The farmhouse was absolutely stunning - the interior design and attention to detail is phenomenal and gives a really cosy and homely feel. From the moment you enter you're made to feel at ease and relaxed and that doesn't stop through the visit. The breakfasts are great with a selection of fresh fruits and yogurt as well as eggs of choice and a wide bread selection. The lunch menu is very good as well and everything we ate was great. We are vegetarian and they catered very well for our requirements at dinner. The highlight of this trip over and above all the other positives was the fantastic wine tasting with the winemaker Pedro. Its fairly rare to get access to the winemaker and in this case he's incredibly knowledgeable and personable. He does his utmost to make you feel comfortable and enjoy the tasting and we just got chatting away which was great! If you're staying here it's a must do. I will definitely come back.

I have travelled all over the world and this is the single most impressive place I have ever stayed. I will be back again next year. The hospitality they offer puts you completely at ease—it all seems effortless. Meanwhile, you can’t help but notice just how meticulous and thoughtful they are in running such a tight ship. It really is an impressive place.

We booked a tour on e-mail and it was very easy. We reached them and were welcomed on time. 30 euros for 5 wines and 1.5 hours of stories, only for us. We first got to know the wine making process, from the harvest, then the journey of each wine and then we got a deep presentation by Chris on technical wine tasting, which we enjoyed very very much. The wines were also good and we had lunch there at very good prices. The place has wonderful views and facilities.

The only word to describe this place is exceptional. We were heartbroken when we had to leave. The food and wine are amazing, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the property is stunning. We started planning our return trip while we were still here. We will be back!

This place is magical. The touches from the welcome wine, to the special soap, to the turndown service. Each employee does a fantastic job! Thank infinity pool is top notch and the insanely large roosters roaming the property are adorable. We will stay here again!

This is a wonderful retreat on the banks of the Douro. Calm, quiet, serene, with the occasional train passing. The dinners are wonderfully prepared, but no choice is offered. Hard to imagine someone who loves food not being happy. Choosing the wine pairings with the dinners is recommended. The staff is friendly and helpful. We explored the river and surrounding towns during the day. Suggest a minimum two night stay.

The most BEAUTIFUL property we have ever stayed at! Magnificent views of the Douro, but the property itself is in tip-top condition. The attention to detail of the architecture, design, and decor of the place is straight out of a magazine. Even the tissue box was super cool! Incredible details of the room (electric shades, jazz music, Nespresso, soap quality, comfortable bed and sheets), and the staff is wonderful. And then, the FOOD. If I could eat here every night, I would 1000%. One of the best dinners, beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff, and fresh and impeccable food. We are already planning our trip back! Tip: make sure you follow the main road to get here, dont follow google down the smaller roads!

You simply can’t miss Quinta de São Bernardo while in Douro region! We went there for drinks at the end of the afternoon and it was an amazing experience. We were looking for a place just like this, where you can sit for a bottle of wine, stunning view and olives! Enjoy!

This is an absolute gem of a concept. The location is stunning and the hotel is lovely and stylish with well appointed rooms and communal areas. The food is excellent, as are the wines made on site. Everything has been thought about; the slick check in and check out process, the signage, the emblem discreetly placed on cups and plates, I could go on. What makes it really special are the staff; the service is without doubt the best we've come across, ever, anywhere. We were blown away by the fact you dont have to sign for anything because they remember you and know which room you are in. Each person is warm, friendly and kind, they explain everything from the moment you arrive and make it feel like home. The attention to detail throughout is incredible. What they offer is hospitality in the purest sense of the word.

Our stay was fantastic! This place is a dream! Everything you see and touch is pure luxury. Every little detail is so well thought out. We fell in love with the property and the service. We only spent one night there and instantly regretted we didn’t book for more time. The dinner and breakfast at its restaurant were amazing, you just can’t beat locally grown ingredients and its flavors.

L'équipe est très accueillante et au petit soins avec les hôtes de ses 9 chambres. Le domaine est entièrement autonome en légumes et autres aliments biologiques, pour le plus grand plaisir de vos papilles ! La literie et le confort des chambres est également un vrai plus, pour faire de votre séjour un moment inoubliable.

It was just amazing ! All reviews are correct to say the that it looks better than in the pictures. The owners and staff are just great . Stayed 2 nights and had dinner on site as it was just too nice to go out. They have a great location. CHRIS who did the wine tour and dégustation with us was also great , had many good laughs with him.

Visitei a quinta a propósito de um jantar de família Instalações magníficas com 6 magníficos quartos muito bem decorados e uma piscina magnifica junto ao Rio Douro onde existe um pequeno restaurante de apoio aos hóspedes onde tive o prazer de ter jantado. Muito boa a qualidade do que escolhi (posta Maronesa) acompanhado de um Piorro Tinto Reserva e a simpatia do jovem casal responsável . Sem dúvida um local de excelência para uns dias na região do Douro
