By far, this was the best experience about coffee I've had in Porto. Mr. Carlos is an expert in the world of Coffee, you just forget the time when you start talking to him. Cafeteria muy pequeña y apartada del centro de Oporto donde sin duda vale la pena ir. El dueño es un amable conversador, el cual te despejara todas las dudas que tengas sobre el cafe que te estas tomando. Gran variedad de cafes de muchos paises a catar. Profesionalidad y amabilidad desde el primer momento. Recomiendo ir sin prisas, ya que el cafe lo prepara con mucho mimo y por tanto cuesta bastante. Relacion calidad/precio muy buena, es un poco caro si no sabes lo que tomas, pero si sabes apreciar un buen cafe no te lo parecera para nada. Sin duda repetiremos seguro. Tambien dispone de variedad de tes que aunque no tomamos ninguno alli, si compramos para casa.

Não é um vulgar espaço de restauração, mas sim para apreciadores e curiosos sobre café. São várias as origens e possibilidades para degustar, algumas bem exóticas, acompanhadas de uma história sobre origens e detalhes levando-nos quase a uma “lição” sobre o verdadeiro café que sai fora do que consumimos comercialmente. Espaço para relaxar e desfrutar da conversa muito simpática com o proprietário, recomendo vivamente.

Me and my girlfriend visited Booínga and were lovingly hosted (that's the correct word for this experience) by Carlos, the owner and barista demigod. After discovering that I was a neophyte being introduced to specialty coffee by my better half, Carlos spent over an hour and a half talking with us about his trade and coffee selection over 3 different beverages (nitro, filtered and cappucino). We left well after closing time, happy and feeling like we had just visited family. Came back the next day. Top tips: ask for a cappucino with Burundi single origin beans and try the superb cascara for something you won't find anywhere else.

What a wonderful discovery this place was. A friend recommended this specially coffee roaster and cafe and it did not disappoint. The owner patiently walked me through the multitude of coffees and brewing methods and I settled on a Chemex brew of the current Costa Rica beans he had. The flavors were complex, subtle, and satisfying without the slightest bit of bitterness. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, inviting, and lovingly designed, and the large central community-style table is the first I've encountered in the coffee world -- what a great idea! The focus here is bringing people together over coffee slowly enjoyed and was completely free of any snobbishness that's sometimes encountered at fancy coffee places. In summary, even if you're not as picky about your coffee as me and you're accustomed to super strong tasting coffees that require milk and sugar to be palatable (i.e. typical commercial Portuguese coffee), please at least give this place a try if you've ever been curious about real specialty coffee- and caution! you'll likely get as spoiled as me!

I don't drink coffee, but I went because my partner loves specialty coffee. The owner was unbelievably kind and offered to make me Panama cascara which is basically a tea infusion made from the shells of coffee beans. He assured me I would like it even though I dislike coffee. He was right! The cascara infusion was delicious and I enjoyed our visit immensely. The owner is a true artist with coffee and tea. We ended up chatting for a long time in the beautiful cafe.

Absolutely worth the detour. An engineer learned and invested to know as much about coffee as edible. Ask about Blue Mountain, or about Arabica Gheisha. And make sure to try the Kenian Arabica coldbrew
