Das Ambiente ist toll im alten Gemäuer, wir haben auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch bekommen. Der Service, freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell! Er hat sich sehr bemüht mit uns in Deutsch zu sprechen, sehr lieb! Die Menüauswahl ist sehr exklusiv, kein Einheitsbrei! Das Essen ist sehr lecker, tolle Aromen, hochwertige Produkte, liebevoll angerichtet, ohne Schickimicki-Zeug! Weinauswahl überragend! Danke für diese Erlebnis wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Just the most amazing aged cheese platter to start. Avoid the chorizo starter (not enough fat in the sausage, and roasted too briefly. The sardines and mackerel in vinegar were both fried in wheat flour before being preserved, so be warned.

It was a great experience! The service is perfect, waiters are paying a lot of attention and explaining the menu. The food was just delicious and reasonable for the quality & price. The atmosphere is really comfortable. It smells like smoked ham (due to the oven and ham, I assume ;)), it’s a mix between modern & rural, traditional design...it’s a great restaurant! Fully recommend it!

Wir haben uns spontan auf Valentinstag für dieses Restaurant entschlossen und obwohl wir keinen Tisch reserviert hatten wurden wir freundlichst empfangen und der letzte Tisch war für uns.. Die Kellner super freundlich ..unser valentinsmenue mega lecker.obwohl es ein wenig gedauert hat war unser menu . super lecker..Die Kellner immer sehr freundlich ...Preis ganz ok. .!!

Lo único bueno ha sido la atención y el local. Las raciones son insultantemente minúsculas y la elaboración de los platos es inexistente, la tabla de queso curado consiste en 3 cachitos (literal) sin lonchear, ese trabajo te lo dejan a ti... para ello te equipan con un cuchillo romo para que lo rompas y aplastes contra el plato a tu gusto (10€ ). Tabla de jamón a cuchillo (14€) bien gordito y más que tabla... muestra. Salchicha de jabalí, una de las especialidades, y la ponen a pelo, asada para que intentes cortar con tu cuchillo romo (que no te han cambiado), de sabor bien pero nada especial. El vino tienen el detalle de quintuplicarte el precio, nos clavaron 15 por un vino de 3. En fin muy bonito pero para ir a un sitio así sinceramente quedarse en casa y hacerte la misma cena es mejorar la opción.

By far my favorite meal in Portugal. Not only did I feel like I was eating in my own home, but the food was GREAT and not expensive. The staff was above and beyond. I loved everything about this restaurant. *Note: they do not take card, so make sure to have cash! If not, there is an ATM right around the corner.

Just wonderful ! Both the food and the service. The tiny restaurant is located in a narrow alley in the center, with the help of google map we are lucky to find it .There are a variety choices from meat to seafood. On menu. We ordered the cod and sea bass, both dishes are very delicious . we also recommend their pork cheek or sardine as starter, both are very unique but also tasty.

Locale bellissimo...su più piani...con travi a vista e muri di pietra...personale gentilissimo e super efficiente che ci ha spiegato minuziosamente il menù. Abbiamo preso la soupa verde,sugarelli in carpione (le sarde erano terminate), il tipico Bacalhau ed un dolce aromatizzato alla cannella. Diciamo che non c'erano grosse pecche, ma era tutto senza infamia e senza lode. Forse perché lo avevamo trovato nelle varie guide della città, compresa la Lonely Planet, forse perché ne venivamo da una cena stratosferica alla Taberna dos Mercadores, le aspettative erano ben più alte. Magari abbiamo fatto le scelte sbagliate. Siamo rimasti un pochino delusi. Prezzo onesto.

Si te gusta la buena carne... corre! Comí una carne estofada al vino tinto... 50% de la carne era grasa, 30% de la carne tan dura que ni la pude cortar con el cuchillo que te daban. La salsa con un punto “acido dudoso”. Un pan para 3, botellas de agua de 200cc. El personal atento y esmerado por hacerse entender, eso si. El lugar mas caro y que peor comimos de todo Oporto en toda nuestra visita.

Estava muito curiosa com este restaurante há vários anos, contudo não foi a melhor experiência. Vamos por partes, o espaço é sem dúvida o melhor ponto a referir, é bastante rústico acolhedor promete uma noite bem passada, no entanto vão com muito tempo para lá estar, porque o serviço é muitoooooo demorado e desorganizado, embora os empregados algo desajeitados corram por todas as escadas soltando até pedaços de parede com a vibração que produzem! Verdade isto aconteceu! Além do barulho imenso que fazem nas escada de madeira digno de um bom filme de terror! Não posso dizer que a comida não é bem confeccionada seria injusto, mas se vos sugerirem partilhar uma costeleta grelhada de supostamente 500g esqueçam uma pessoa consegue bem comer todo o prato. Apostem no bacalhau confiado é o prato mais elegante e saboroso...Mas mais uma vez façam um esforço para absorver a decoração da sala sem desesperar pelo tempo de espera. É absurdo mesmo! Terminem com uma boa sobremesa são todas ótimas escolhas, demoradas claro mas ótimas... Por fim esperem pagar uma média de 25e por pessoa. Resumindo à entrada tem escrito " slow food" não é bluff acontece mmo tudo muito muito "slowly"...

Utter disappointment! Ordered the veal steak, it was chewy with no taste and the side was literally a bag of Parsnip crisp instead of real potatoes as been told by the waiter .... the other dish was Sea Bass which u can’t go wrong with but the side was canned black eyed beans! Starter was a Sardines which I didn’t find it anything unusual and COD balls which tasted more of Iceland COD balls .... am not sure what all the good reviews are for

Petit resto, petite ruelle, et nourriture de qualité, simple (vraiment simple). Si vous avez du temps, beaucoup de temps et que vous êtes patient pas de soucis, mais il faudra attendre une bonne heure avant d'être servi... Les aliments sont peu voir très peu cuisiné, sel, poivre, quelques légumes et c'est tout. Le prix est plutôt élevé pour si peu de préparation. Les aliments sont de qualité et le personnel est jeune et sympathique.

Un ristorante splendido, sia per la location che per il cibo. Come prima sera a Porto non potevamo andare meglio. I camerieri sono cordiali e disponibili. Ci hanno spiegato il menu nel dettaglio. Abbiamo preso un antipasto composto da polpettine di baccalà, e 2 secondi (abbondanti), un baccalà panato lievemente fritto con patate e verdurine (chieste a parte) e un vitello stufato. Acqua, un calice di vino bianco. Totale €29.90. Rapporto qualità / quantità prezzo ottimo. Contiamo di tornarci.

Op de bonnefooi een afgelegen straatje ingewandeld met het idee: aan een grote straat vind je nooit een goed restaurant. Per abuis een verborgen juweel gevonden in Porto, waar ik ben overweldigd door de authenticiteit, service, prijs/kwaliteit en de persoonlijke aandacht. Gerechten zijn eenvoudig maar perfect en met liefde bereid. Zelden zo aangenaams verrast.

Very cosy and stylish. Helpful and nice service. Food is rather expensive as I have check a dozen Porto's restaurants. Tapas was OK. But vegetarian main course with sausage was rather week. Actually half of it went back to the kitchen. Good quality wine. You CANNOT pay with card here and waiter won't tell you that!

Design and atmopshere - 5 Waiter service - 5 Price - 4 Wine - 4 Waiting time - 2(we waited about 1+hr. I know it was written "slow food restaurant", but slow food- not endless waiting. The food taste - 3 (actualy it was fine, but after 1+hour of waiting you expect something realy good) Average - about 4 If you want to spend some time enyoing wine and starters in nice place- this restaurant is for you. If you just want to eat something tasty - better dont do our mistake :)

Nice interior, nice food selection, but the service turned absolutely terrible as soon as the food was ordered. From that point on, did not see our waiter. A different waitress noticed that our food was taking a long time and told us that it would be out soon. Then we were told on the way out that the restaurant is cash-only. Then was rude when explaining that the cash-only policy was written outside. It was written in chalk, about 10 feet up on the side of the building, and said "we don't have an ATM." Overall, great atmosphere, atrocious attitudes by all employees.

Abbiamo cenato qui spinti dalla guida Lonely, siamo arrivati alle 9.30 e ci hanno portato i piatti alle 10.45, attesa infinita. Camerieri molto gentili ci hanno illustrato il menù traducendolo. Servizio poco attento, ci sono arrivati i piatti senza condimenti di olio e sale nelle verdure e nessun cameriere nei dintorni per 15 minuti a cui chiederli. Cibo senza infamia né lode, niente di spettacolare.

Real tasty, wholesome and simply cooked food. Both grilled fish, confit cod were great with vegetables treated with respect! Pork cheek was one of the best things I've eaten in years! Sardines a little to vinegary for my liking, and wines were poured pretty small. Good range of desserts made in house and nice coffee. €62 for 2 courses + 1 dessert and wine for 2 people - Staff seemed genuinely happy to host us and we were genuinely happy to be there.

Ambiente do restaurante é o melhor. O tempo de espera é como o conceito do próprio - slow cooking = slow serving. Venham com tempo. Muito tempo. Vão esperar para se sentar apesar do restaurante não estar cheio. Vão esperar para fazer o pedido. Vão esperar para receber a comida. Vão esperar ponto. A ideia de base é boa - é aproveitar o momento com um bom ambiente, com amigos ou de quem mais se gosta, mas aproveitar o tempo depois de uma semana muito acelerada não é o mesmo que esperar quase uma hora para comer, pelo menos, uma entrada. Os empregados são atenciosos e esforçados mas são poucos para a quantidade de pedidos em época alta. Vale pelo ambiente música e vinho a copo. Meio copo mas de boa qualidade.

I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, as it came recommended. I was disappointed and the remainder of my family was not impressed with the quality of the food. Quaint decor and friendly staff yet the food quality left much to be desired. I had the pork ribs and found them very fatty and lacking in flavor. I was unable to complete my meal. When the waiter questioned the satisfaction I conveyed to him that I was not satisfied. He did not even make an effort to correct or apologize for the concern. I would not eat there again and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Versteckt und absolut empfehlenswert. Hier bekommt man zu Stoßzeiten nur mir Reservierung einen Tisch. Wir kamen durch eine Foodtour hier her und waren absolut begeistert von Wein und dem typischen Beef-Sandwich. Kompetenter Service, gemütliches Ambiente. Nur am Wasserhahn im Bad könnte man verzweifeln. Kleiner Tip: verdrehte Welt ;)

Visit : evening / sitting upstairs / couple We read good reviews for the restaurant and decided to give the place a shot - we were there on a saturday evening and the restaurant was busy with both Portuguese and various other nationalities Ordered : starters and mains including a pretty decent dry white Having looked at some of the other reviews / comments the restaurant has a frequently changing menu ( good ) though it can depend on your timing as to whether you visit during a time when the menu will contain something that you wish to eat. Service : We very attentive though we did get the impression that the staff are keen to have you order "all at once" - so as to avoid any complaints about time between dishes ...... however for us we prefer taking our time and ordering mains after we have finished a starter to see " how we feel " Service by the two male wait staff that evening was very good Meal : the 2 starters we ordered and shared were good ( as photos ) and matched well with the dry white. The mains however were somewhat of a disappointment - they were not bad just not particularly interesting - we ordered the mains individually and had them turn up one after the other and started with a " vegetarian sausage " that was using local vegetables and a local mix etc : we found this pretty bland though the side dish of rice/shiitake risotto was flavourful. Second main was the bacalhal .... we are guessing a slightly modern twist though again it was fine but just not very inspiring Decoration : nicely done interior showing off the old wooden beams and structure. entry on the ground floor has the preparation and bar area with a few tables and crevice seating areas for 6-8 people. 1st floor has seating for 22-24 people arranged with various small tables .... the chairs are quite interesting and unique though probably uncomfortable for those with a large "bum". The kitchen appeared to be on the upper floor along with the toilets. Pricing : certainly not expensive and majority of the wines were pretty reasonably priced Overall : nice setting and friendly staff but just the menu and items we ordered on our visit were really not very interesting / rather bland and it left us both feeling like its a restaurant easily forgotten

The restuarnt is in a small street, which add to spirit-the waitera take you up and you feel like you in the 18'th century. The starters were great the mains a bit less I highly recommended the sardins and the ham sandwich

In een smal straatje verscholen vind je dit leuke restaurantje. Met rotswanden en houten balken heel sfeervol maar met een industriële twist. De ober legt het hele menu uit wat op schoolbordjes geschreven staat. We kozen voor de Dorade die heerlijk was, dit met een door de ober geadviseerde rosé van de Douro. Zeker een aanrader!!

Excellent Portuguese restaurant. The food is delicious and very reasonable considering the quality. I had slow cooked pork cheek which had been seasoned to perfection followed by bream which was juicy, flavoursome and was served with buttery new potatoes. The staff are very attentive and polite and take the time to explain the menu. Don’t miss this gem!

On n'y passe pas par hasard, le lieu se cache dans une ruelle du côté de la gare et de la place de Libertade... la découverte est belle ! Excellent accueil, lieu magique et atmosphère d'une simplicité très agréable. Le repas, très bon, du début à la fin, pour un prix très raisonnable !

En una callejuela sin salida se encuentra este restaurante, que guarda uno de los secretos de Oporto que más merece la pena descubrir: el terylene. Se trata de un bocadillo de jamón ahumado y lomo de cerdo marinado en vino, ajo, tomate, romero, orégano y guindilla durante 20 horas, que luego es cocinado durante más de tres horas. La carne queda totalmente impregnada de sabor y tan tierna y suave que prácticamente se deshace en la boca. Nosotros comimos también los bolinhos de bacalhau y la carrillera que, aunque también estaban muy ricos, nada iguala la delicia del terylene.

A pesar de estar muy recomendado nos llevamos una gran desilusión. Eramos 4 y al servir a dos las entradas, nos informaron que las otras dos estaban agotadas. Pedimos otras pero empezamos la cena a turnos. Los platos principales deplorables: patatas hervidas recalentadas, la ensalada de guarnición era simplemente lombarda rallada sin aliñar. La dorada a la plancha reseca.... Nadie nos supo informar debidamente sobre los vinos. El servicio nada profesional. Ya nos extrañó al entrar que el reataurante estaba muy vacío cuando en Porto hay que hacer cola para conseguir una mesa en un buen restaurante. Lástima porque el lugar tiene encanto.

First rate for Portuguese food. Dealt fantastically well with my many food intolerances. Meat was succulent, having been cooked very slowly, and portions were sizable. Dessert was done to perfection: not too sweet, not too heavy, and wonderfully fruity. Top choice if you're looking for quality food and willing to savour the moment.

Location molto bella. Cibo molto buono e rapporto qualità prezzo molto buona. Il nacho di vitello ottimo e panino splendido. Unico difetto i tavolini troppo stretti per piatti molto grandi. Il servizio gentile ma poco attento. Non hanno sparecchiato che all'ultimo e dopo aver accidentalmente versato la zuppa sul tavolo non hanno cambiato la tovaglietta.

Yet again I eat out in Poro and I am disappointed. We were sold in a mixed plate of cheese and ham as a starter we did not want... to be followed by a veal steak that was far to big and very salty....left half the meal.

The food is phenomenal! Octupus salad n the shrimp are to die for. The duck was really good. The service staff is the most polite n helpful. It was my husband's birtbday and I emailed them earlier about it. They were sweet enough to reccomend me the chocolate mousse cake wd a birthday candle! Omg it was delicious! I highly reccommend this place to everyone who wants to enjoy great food made professionally wd a lot of love

Ultra-simple food cooked very well. No messing about, thus allowing the ingredients to shine. A perfect piece of grilled tuna, seared on the outside and pink on the inside. Really good value wines and excellent, knowledgeable service. Remember to book ahead.

After reading the reviews I had very high hopes for this restaurant, expecting it to be the highlight of the meals on our visit to Porto. Unfortunately, it was not. The main sticking point for me was the price. This was by far the most expensive restaurant we visited in our trip to Porto, twice what I would say was my favourite meal in the city, and so I feel value for money was very low. Food was good, but not very memorable, and extremely expensive for Portugal. It is probably quite telling that in a full restaurant, no table was speaking Portuguese, making it feel a bit like a tourist trap.

Lured by reviews in google maps we decided to try this restaurant. The waiter suggested an aperitif: I think it was port with tonic water. Awful. As main course we ordered the nacos de vitela. What we got was a plate full of chunks of very dry, very overcooked, very tasteless meat. Lots of it, I must say. When I went to pay I mentioned to the gentleman at the till that the meat was dry and overcooked; he replied that they used 'ancient recipes'. I don't know about the recipes but it is likely that the cow the meat came from was indeed ancient.

We heard that this place was good but we arrived after their kitchen had closed. They welcomed us in anyway and said it was fine and that they would open the kitchen for us. We were very fortunate to be able to get a table on a Saturday night at this charming little restaurant down a hidden alley in Porto. This two storey place has been in existence for 164 years and has probably been serving excellent food that entire time. There may be only 40 seats in the entire restaurant with five 2-tops down stairs and the rest upstairs. They feature slow cooked Portuguese specialities and if the items we ordered are any indication, any item you order will be done to perfection. The chef/owner is a one man crew behind the counter, whether it's pouring drinks, sautéing vegetables or fish, dishing up plates or taking reservations. And his staff of three run the floor. If you only have time for one meal in Porto, this is the place to spend the time. I can only add one word to describe Flor: Excellent

Lugar escondido y decorado en madera dentro de una casa reacondicionada, me encantaron las sillas. Muy buena atención. Te explican la carta para que sepas qué pedir. Cuatro personas comimos croquetas de bacalao y bacalao frito con patata asada. Vinho verde, y de postre pera al oporto, queso con mermelada de higo (buenísima) y tarta estilo de la abuela. Dos cafés y 20€ por persona. Limpieza muy bien y cantidades normales. Un poco falta de iluminación en nuestra mesa.

Amazing traditional Porto restaurant. Stopped here on a food tour then booked a night for dinner. Such great food for an even better price. Had an appetizer, two mains, dessert and a bottle of sparkling wine for €45. The pace is slow but it is meant to be that way, so just chill and enjoy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

This is an incredible restaurant and was a highlight of our weekend in Porto. It was recommend to us by the staff in our guesthouse, who know the owners. The restaurant is in a traditional stone building hidden up a narrow alleyway, it's equally narrow and spread across three or four floors but manages to feel spacious. It serves a mix of traditional Portuguese tapas (or petiscos) and main dishes along with local wines. There was some confusion over our booking when we arrived - we thought we had booked (via our guesthouse), but we hadn't... but it didn't matter as they were able to fit us in. We stood by the bar whilst we waited and chatted with one of the owners (?) as he prepared a number of dishes and desserts for other diners with obvious care and passion. He explained some of the dishes to us and translated some of the menu whilst he worked. We soon felt welcomed and couldn't wait to sample the wonderful looking food. The service continued to be exceptional all evening, the small front of house team creating a relaxed friendly atmosphere - providing a free taster of pumpkin jam and cheese after we had trouble choosing from the desert menu (it's the little details that really count). The food was wonderful and felt like a true taste of the city and the country. I can't wait to go back.
