We spent two wonderful nights as guests of Olga and Fernando. They were excellent hosts, who anticipated our needs before even we knew what we wanted! We slept great in the comfortable beds, and our room was outfitted with shutters to control the early morning light. Breakfast was a culinary odyssey through various regions in Portugal, including cheeses, jams, and meats from The Azores and central Portugal. The entire hotel is spotless without being sterile; the Guest House has a cozy and warm atmosphere, and the location can't be beat. We hope to stay there again someday!

My wife and I recently had a long-weekend in Porto and decided to book in at Olga & Fernando's InPatio Guest House. This turned out to be an excellent decision. The location and room quality are both superb and the “customer service & hospitality”, shown by all the staff, is exceptional. The one abiding memory for us will be the genuine, charm and passion that Olga & Fernando have for Porto and Portugal in general – this comes across every morning, as breakfast is literally presented to you and in general conversations ranging from Cabidela to the Queima das Fitas – Olga & Fernando, you made our trip to Porto, that extra bit special Obrigado!

This Guest House is very lovely. Its located centrally and only a short walk away from the Douro River. The breakfast is awesome, with different fruits and homemade cakes everyday.

Our hosts made our time in Porto perfect. The amazing couple who run this lovely property gave us great advice on restaurants, and were invaluable in arranging airport taxis. Our double room was spotless, and cleverly designed to make the most of the shape of the space: everything we needed, nothing we didn't. The breakfasts deserve a treatise themselves but perhaps it is sufficient to say that they were creative, inventive, delicious presentations of a variety of local products and dishes, lovingly prepared and served. Tucked away in a quiet little square steps away from the center of all the August action, InPatio was our peaceful retreat from the crowds. It'll be out first choice when we return to Porto.

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathroom amenities are luxurious (makes you want to ask where can you get them full size). Talking about asking, don't hesitate in asking the owners for suggestions of places to visit or restaurants to eat. They are the nicest people and will take their time to explain it all to you. Best opportunity to do that is during breakfast. Don't you miss breakfast! Fresh, thoughtfully selected items. It's amazing!

When we arrived we were greeted by the host (husband) and he checked us in and helped us get our bags up to our room. He also gave us a thorough briefing about the facility and amenities. He was very personable and friendly and put us at ease as we checked in. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic with everything homemade or purchased locally by the hostess (wife). We looked forward to each morning as she would present a new offering of foods that she had prepared as well as Portuguese classics from around the country and fresh fruits. Our room was great - not overly spacious - but had everything we needed. The location was ideal. Kind of in the middle of everything and close enough to get anywhere in 5-10 minutes of walking. The Wi-Fi was good in the room and common area. All in all a wonderful stay and I would go back there anytime I'm in Porto.

Un lugar encantador. Edificio antiguo muy bien restaurado, habitaciones pequeñas pero muy cómodas, suelo radiante, cafés y tés, múltiples enchufes, secador. La cama muy cómoda y muy buena temperatura en invierno. Muy bien situado. La atención de los dueños es excepcional, tanto en el hotel como en información turística. This place is amazing. Check-in was easy, staff was accommodating, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect. Definitely a gem in Porto.

I always find it extremely difficult settling on just one place when choosing hotels. It’s hard to grasp if a hotel is well located, if the pictures are a true depiction of the place, etc. InPatio Guest House absolutely surpassed all our expectations. The owners Olga and Fernando are extremely gracious, taking great care of all their guests. The rooms are gorgeous: clean, new with a touch of the original building, super comfortable beds, crisp white linens and one of the most comfortable, pampering bathrooms we’ve been in. It’s location can’t be beat either. It’s located very close to the Douro, in the middle of the historic neighborhood, allowing you to walk everywhere. It’s tucked in a little patio, sheltering the street noise and allowing for a sense of privacy even though you’re in the middle of where everything happens... Last but not least, the breakfast is AMAZING. Olga and Fernando go through great lengths to bring you an assortment of typical Portuguese meats and cheese, alongside a basket of freshly baked bread and homemade jams and cakes every day. They use local goods and give you some background info on the products and where they come from. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re thinking about it, and are considering a few others, just go for it... you won’t be disappointed!

Just wow, so much detail hidden in de building and the rooms. The breakfast was the best breakfast me and my wife had during our two weeks in Portugal. This was our favorite guest house of our 2 week stay in Portugal. The breakfast was amazing and unique every day. The afternoon treats was very tasty. The staff/owners(?) were incredibly nice and helpful. We also loved the location of this guest house. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was the nicest of all the places we stayed. Excellent cold breakfast, and superfriendly and helpful owners. Convenient location near river but metro station is over 5 minutes uphill on cobbled street so difficult wheeling cases. Uber is cheap and good. Need to be able to climb stairs, but owner carries cases. Surprisingly roomy bedrooms but unusual shapes. Found seagulls a bit noisy at night as I am a light sleeper. Excellent value for money and would not hesitate to return. Modern inside.

Ein kleines (insges. 5 Zimmer) aber sehr ansprechendes Hotel mit besonderem Flair. Das Hotelteam begeistert mit hoher Aufmerksamkeit und viel Liebe zum Detail. Das reichhaltige und qualitativ ansprechende Frühstück ist hervorzuheben. Das Hotel liegt absolut zentral, leicht versteckt in einem kleinen Nebengässchen. Dadurch ist es nachts angenehm ruhig. Das Zimmer ist zwar klein, aber perfekt eingerichtet, auch das Bad ist sehr ansprechend. Wir können das Hotel ohne Einschränkung empfehlen.

Ein Hotel wie das inPatio hatten wir bisher noch nirgendwo. Versteckt in einer Seitengasse aber gut und einfach zu finden, hatten wir nur etwa 1,3 km Fußweg von der Metrostation Trindade. Die Lage könnte kaum besser sein, super zentral und in direkter Hafennähe. Der Empfang war bereits sehr herzlich und persönlich. Das Paar das das Gästehaus betreibt ist sehr sehr bemüht und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön und sehr individuell eingerichtet. Eine Mauer war aus Stein und oben aus der Decke schien indirektes Licht, dessen Helligkeit sich mittels Regler dimmen ließ. Die Ausstattung ist zweckdienlich. Das was man benötigt ist vorhanden, auf Schnick Schnack wurde verzichtet. Obwohl wir für den ersten Tag keine Reinigung für das Zimmer bestellt hatten (Schild an der Tür) wurde dennoch feinsäuberlich geputzt, sogar herumliegende Kleidung gefalten und uns wurden zwei Gläser Portwein und zwei Pralinen auf das Zimmer gestellt. Jetzt noch zum sehr individuellen Frühstück: Direkt nach der Ankunft im Erdgeschoss (untere Ebene) wird man vom liebenswerten Betreiberpaar begrüßt und bekommt nacheinander, täglich abwechselnde Leckereien persönlich an den Tisch gebracht. Liebevoll wird einem sogar erklärt was man bekommt und aus welcher Region einige der Lebensmittel in Portugal stammen. Ein Frühstück in einer solch persönlichen und charmanten Atmosphäre hatten wir bislang noch nie genießen dürfen. Mit den besten Empfehlungen und einem herzlichen Danke an unsere Gastgeber!

The couple running the hotel was amazing. Welcoming, warm, helpful, everything. They made us feel like home. Great, homemade breakfast every day with freshly squeezed orage juice, fruit, youghurt, bread, cheese, ham etc. Delicious cappucino. The rooms were spacious and always very clean with little treats by the hotel staff every day. Location unbeatable with 1minute to Ribeira and 5minutes to the city center while still being really quiet. Simply loved everyting. Thank you!

By far the best place we stay in Portugal for our honeymoon. We loved the intimate atmosphere of this Guest House and the owners are absolutely lovely. They provided the best breakfasts that we had during our entire trip. If you prefer a hotel with a lot of amenities, this is not for you. It is simple in the sense that it a small bed and breakfast with rooms and breakfast room (that's about it). However, the personal attention and kindness from the staff was incredible. The location is fantastic, you can walk to anything you want to see in Porto. This is a fabulous choice! I hope we are able to go back sometime!

Hotel pequeño pero super buen ubicado. Los dueños lo atienden y lo llevan a otro nivel. Sólo estuvimos un día pero fue fantástico. Nos gustaría regresar. Excelente desayuno, preparado especialmente para nosotros al horario que seleccionamos. Recamara muy cómoda y limpia, así como los baños.

Домашний душевный прием. Маленький гостевой дом, в котором все продумано, чтобы гостям было удобно. Невзирая на малые площади, оборудовали элеватор для багажа. Хозяева- Фернандо и Ольга дадут любую информацию и накормят не так, как кормят в отельных ресторанах: в соответствии со вкусом и желанием гостей. Расположен гостевой дом в центре. Однако шума не слышно.

It was an incredible stay, Olga and Fernando were super nice and gave us great recommendations on what to do and which restaurants to visit. The whole guesthouse has been designed in a way to think of the traveler's comfort. I like that they had doors on every floor to insulate the noise from guests moving up and down the stairs. The room was sizable, bed was comfortable and all was clean. Wifi was available at all times in the premises. Location is superb, we walked everywhere, from Sao Bento to here and from here to Ribeira and all the other sites that we wanted to see (including the lovely Cafe Majestic and the cellars over in Gaia). A really good stay, will stay here again when I next visit Porto! Love Porto!!

Mooie kamers met zeer lekker ontbijt. Je kan bijvragen maar wij (goede eters) hadden meer dan genoeg. Jammer dat we hier niet langer waren (2 nachten). Zeker een AANRADER. Op 5 minuutjes wandelen van het treinstation Porto Sao Bento. Ook alle bezienswaardigheden zijn op wandel afstand. SUPER TOP FANTASTISCH!!!

Superleuk stijlvol guesthouse midden in het oude stadscentrum. Lokatie is echt super! Ondanks centrale ligging toch rustig, omdat het in een patio ligt heb je weinig tot geen last van de stadsgeluiden. De eigenaren Olga en Fernando zijn vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij. Goede tips voor uitstapjes en restaurants. Het ontbijt is super, de moeder van Fernando maakt heerlijke cakes! :)

Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce Guest House où nous avons été accueillis par les propriétaires. Très charmants et professionnels, ils nous ont aidés (trouver des médicaments et payer les taxes autoroutières de notre voiture de location)et nous ont conseillés à merveille. Excellent et copieux petit déjeuner. Chambre moderne, très propre et avec une spacieuse salle de bain. Très calme la nuit. Nous recommandons vivement ce guest house et ne manquerons pas d'y retourner.

Very charming guesthouse, beautifully decorated with an eye for detail and great surprise breakfast every morning with local fresh foods & fruits. Very kind and helpful owners. We loved our stay and can highly recommend it.
