Espetacular. Local idílico com gente que domina a arte de bem receber como poucos. Recomendo vivamente!

A localização e a nova actividade dentro da Adega JonHni (House Wine) prima pela representação do que de melhor o Douro nos pode oferecer, o próprio enquadramento da região, a excelente gastronomia e a Casa dos Varais Tinto 2017 que é de bradar aos céus! Um lugar de encantar!

Excelente casa, super elegante e com vista para o rio lindo.

Estava passeando pelo Douro e perguntei em um restaurante onde tinha um azeite bom pra eu comprar. Me indicaram A casa dos varais. Achei a casa linda e o azeite é incrível!

La bem a trás o povo e os outros diziam Rei , Família e Deus , estes eram descritos por um sr Camões , depois chegou um nobre grande e honrado Sr Dr e passou- se a Pátria, Deus e Família , o génio chamou Fernando Pessoa e Eça Queiroz. o povo o acrescentou Amália e Eusébio e assim temos Portugal provavelmente o maior país do mundo

Great location and clean. However the smell coming from the bathroom pipes was awful. Even with permanently open windows the stink was unbearable. So unfortunately in spite of very friendly owner run place and good breakfast this is only a one star place.

Atendimento irrepreensível. Refeições de referência quanto à confecção, apresentação e serviço. A revisitar assim que possivel.

Beautiful little place with it's own vinyard and consequently their own wine and port. Beautifully located and owned by over 5 generations of the same family. Lot's of history

חויה מיוחדת! הכל ישן מהמאה ה -17.תוך כדי ההליכה רצפת העץ משמיעה חריקות המזכירות את העבר. הדונמים מסביב של הכרמים הבלתי סופיים מוסיף מימד חוויתי . לא כל יום יש אפשרות לטייל בכרמים כאלו. עצי האפרסמון המקסימים. נהר הדורו ומרלן המקסימה המשרתת באלגנטיות את האורחים ובעל הבית שמאיר פנים והדריך מה כדאי לראות בסביבה. היין המעולה של המקום! הישיבה לארוחת הבוקר בשולחן משותף בחדר משפחתי מעוצב ,עם אורחים ממקומות שונים בעולם. כל זה ועוד עושה את המקום מיוחד במינו.

Lugar aprazível... ambiente maravilhoso..

I am very conflicted about my stay here. Before I mention the negative, I will mention the positive. First of it, it is a lovely home, and the owners are super friendly, and the staff is more than accommodating. The outdoor patio is splendid at night, and the meat and cheese spread with fruit is yummy, as well as the wine that is made right there. Now the negatives, at least for me, included having a substandard room downstairs that is about 10 feet from a busy road with speeding cars zipping by all the time. The noise level is the worst I have experienced. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the windows are basically attached only by hinges attached to stone openings -- they are not sealed in anyway so they fit loosely with gaps all around -- basically no insulation at all. In addition, it is a sparse room with an old (badly needing upgrades) bathroom. There were other issues as well, but basically all pertaining to that particular room. So, if you can be assured that you will not be put in the basement, you will probably love it. It really is very nice. I just dont know how I got that room.

Very suitable as a home but not so suitable for modern expectations of hotel comfortParking below house off busy road with steps to climb with luggage however staff definitely helped us with this on arrival.

A historical winery hotel. All decoration are very fine and classic. Of course, you should not expect some modern facilities. But the room is comfy and clean Do try the dinner. We tried the smoked trout meal during our stay. We ate on a long dinig table and were served like king and queen. Furthermore, the couple owning the house are very nice. They will show guests around their house, grapes farm and wine making rooms, and will share their expertise knowledge about port wine.Beside, the house is convenient. It is about 30 minutes from the Regua train station on foot or less than 5 min. by taxi. Regua is also good getaway from Porto. Train from Porto to Regua is frequent daily with only 2 hours for a trip. At Regua, you can take boat trip of Douro River, go to port wine museum, take a mini tram ride at the town centre.

Létablissement est une demeure typique, laccueil est bon mais impossible de dormir à cause du lit qui craque au moindre mouvement. Dommage et regrettable.
