Nos encantó alojarnos aqui para nuestra visita a Sintra, una ubicación perfecta si deseas ir a los castillos o a la ciudad. El trato es genial y el desayuno es pequeño pero tiene de todo. Repetiríamos sin duda.

Chalet Relogio, its a big house converted to a nice and beautiful hotel. There is a private parking. Its better to go by car than bus. My boyfriend and I stayed one night here. The room was clean and comfortable. Our room had a beautiful view to nature. The breakfast was great. It was more than we expected! The owner of the hotel was nice and he gave us information about place to visit in Sintra.

Nice place in the middle of the "Serra de Sintra" the owner is a very nice, dutch, well spoken man named Jeroen who made sure our stay was perfect.

My wife and I had prebooked three nights in the Chalet Relogio and were very much looking forward to staying there. However, our arrival in Sintra didn't go as planned - on our way to the accomodation, while driving through the foggy night, an iron fence fell on our rental car. The police was notified, and the whole thing cost us nerves and time, and naturally delayed our arrival at the Chalet Relogio. When we arrived at the Chalet at 22.30, all doors were locked and we found a note at the door stating to call the owner. When we did so, the owner reacted very rude, told us that he tried several times to call us, and that it was too late now - he didn't have a room for us anymore. Indeed, we saw that he tried to call us while we were still busy with the police. So we apologized and said that we didn't see his calls and were also to busy and preoccupied to take any calls at that time. He didn't want to accept any apologies, didn't show any empathy, and just hung up on us. There we were, bedazzled out in the cold, in front of a closed hotel. Luckily another guest wandered through the hall and opened the front door for us. From inside the hotel we tried to call the owner once more and heard the phone ring from inside another room. Then he came out and directly started to talk very insulting to us. He started to call me names, and when my wife tried to apologize once more for our late arrival, he asked me to tell her to shut up, as he wouldn't want to talk to her. He said: "I can see that she is blonde, she is stupid", "This is my hotel, I can do what I want!" and called me several curse words in Dutch which I didn't even know before (and I am Dutch). He also started to talk louder and louder, coming closer and closer to us, which felt threatening. At this point, it was obvious that we could not stay there anymore - and we also didn't want to, as we didn't feel welcome at all. When we left the property, the owner walked after us on the terrace and continued to scream after us. When we were on our way to another hotel, he even called us on the phone several times to threaten us futher. While writing this review we were again reminded of how absurd the whole situation actually was. Until today, we have no idea what set the owner of so much and made him react so incredibly arrogant and rude - we arrived late, yes, but other than that we stayed calm, kind, and apologetic the whole time, and actually left the place deeply disappointed and shaken. How a place with this owner can achieve such high ratings on several websites is puzzling to us.

Amazing place and stunning view. The location is the strength of this Guests House. The service is really nice and the staff is really friendly. Highly recommended!

I spent one night at this establishment a few years ago. I have to point out the following; the mattress on the double bed in my room was not the most comfortable. I had trouble falling asleep when I could not fit comfortably into the mattress. The breakfast was poor in variety and on top of it was bread from the day before. When paying in cash they did not give me the proper invoice even after I demanded it. A client who was in front of me who wanted to pay by card almost had to "oblige" the owner of the establishment to carry out this type of payment, since he was making a typical bad face of a person opposed. These last two episodes reported here have made me think that management is not honest in paying their taxes. Passei uma noite neste estabelecimento há uns anos atrás. Tenho a apontar o seguinte; o colchão da cama de casal do meu quarto não era o mais confortável. Tive dificuldades em adormecer ao não me conseguir adaptar convenientemente ao colchão. O pequeno almoço era pobre de variedade e ainda por cima havia pão do dia anterior. Ao pagar em numerário não me deram a devida fatura mesmo depois de a exigir. Um cliente que estava à minha frente que queria pagar com cartão quase que teve de "obrigar" o dono do estabelecimento a proceder a este tipo de pagamento, visto que este estava a fazer uma má cara típica de pessoa contrariada. Estes dois últimos episódios aqui relatados fizeram-me pensar que a gerência não é honesta no pagamento dos seus impostos.

Нам очень понравился этот отель, да он немного старомоден,но это его очарование. Хозяин бесконечно гостепримен и каждому гостю оказывает внимание, отзывчив и в тоже время ненавязчив. Завтрак достойный и в полном соответствии со стилем богатого португальского дома времен колоний. Нам понравилось в этом доме все и благородный поскрип половиц и старинная мебель и выдержанный портвейн которым нас вечером угостил хозяин. С удовольствием прогулялись пешком в центр, оставив машину на парковке отеля.

The Chalet Relogio is in good destination in Sintra from the center. You could access it by walk. The chalet is renovated but you could feel the old times as well.

Friendly staff takes care of anything you need. Bottle of wine when we got there to have on their terrace. The view of the castle was beautiful.

We were one of the first guest after opening up due to Covina-19. We loved the accommodation very much; the location is perfect to explore Sintra and surrounding, our room was big, clean and nice and the owner Jeroen was very welcoming!

Difficult to find even with GPS. House on hairpin turn so missed it and had to drive all the "one-way" over the mountain and down the other side to get there. Took more than 2 hours to find it. Owner not very helpful; just matter of fact, abrupt manner. When asked directions, gave very minimal info which was not very helpful. Did not show us to our room; just gave us the key to find ourselves. Not accepting credit card is a negative. Bed was fine, but room was very warm; no a/c, opened window but then had bugs flying in. Ad says shared lounge; we were not shown a lounge. Ad says on site bar; there was no bar, unless it meant available coffee or tea in the dining room. Poor location for walking to the historic centre-narrow winding roads and an uphill climb back up. We had to hire a taxi. Would not recommend this place for sight-seeing Sintra; much better to rent a place in the town centre; would be much easier for walking to sites.

Absolutamente maravilhoso, aconchegante e sossegado ao som de pássaros e riachos. Em qualquer ponto do alojamento sentimos que estamos longe da civilização, no meio da floresta, quando estamos a 10 minutos da estação de comboio e da vila. O pequeno almoço é simples mas com uma excelente variedade de frutas, cereais, pão e charcutaria....e o preço é mais do que justo. Venho sempre que preciso de desanuviar. Obrigado e até breve

Like a small castle, we had nice night! The owner give us a lot of attention, was very polite. The breakfast had a lot of options of fruits and breads, they were all fresh and it was really good. The WiFi needs improvement.

We stayed four nights in guesthouse Relógio and loved every bit of it! The building itself is a romantic beautiful charming old villa of well-over 100 years old. We stayed in one of the family rooms which is spacy and has a nice atmosphere. Moreover, it is very clean. The location itself is very convenient as it is a short walk down to the center and it has a magnificent view on the castle and Sintra itself. There is a lovely big shared terrace where you can eat your breakfast if you want, or drink a beer or wine in the afternoon or evening with a nice view. The breakfast itself includes coffee/tea, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fresh bread, all kinds of cheeses, meatproducts, etc. Too much to name. What we liked particularly is that the owner was really helpful. When asked for some advice about restaurants and places to go, he knew a very nice restaurant in the direction of Cascais that was full of locals and which we would never have found ourselves. He also gave directions to a beautiful little beach with some nice bars that also seems to be one of the little gems that only locals know to find. Thanks to Jeroen we had a fantastic day out. Also when we asked for an extra bottle of water or anything else the cleaners or owners were always very friendly and willing to help. So, we had a great stay. Thanks!

If I could give minus 500 stars I would. We had a reservation and upon arrival there was nobody to attend. 10 minutes later the a lady host comes who doesn't speak English and upon finishing the formalities gave us the keys to a room on the second floor which when we opened turned out to be an attic room. We requested the lady to give us another room as both my husband and I are claustrophobic. She called the owner and we very politely explained the owner our situation. He started shouting on the phone and said " get out of my home, I don't want you here" also "go get a cheaper place" and alot more that I don't recall. We tried to calm him down and again very politely explained the situation that we are okay with any room other than an attic room, also we were willing to pay more if there was an option of a premium better room. He wasn't willing to listen at all and kept shouting. For a while, we were shocked but didn't want to spoil our travel plans further, so we booked another place. I haven't come across such a rude and arrogant person in life, let alone in the hospitality sector. I would not be surprised if there are aggressive replies to this review as well. ------------------------------------------ Since there is no way to reply to your message I am editing my post. We are still in Sintra and we can come back right now, have your lady host sit there and ask her if we did any of what you mentioned. Also if your behavior was 100th of kindness you have mentioned here, we wouldn't have wasted our time in writing a review. Anyway we are leaving today and don't want to waste our time dealing with a problem which is no longer ours. Hope God grants you some peace and wisdom.

O Chalet por si só é histórico, com linda vista para o castelo, estacionamento e café da manhã. Fica próximos do centro e das principais atrações da cidade.

Grata surpresa! Reservei sem grandes expectativas, mas o local é ótimo! Achei a nota de 8.7 do booking injusta para com o local. O atendimento é ótimo, o quarto D em que fiquei tem uma vista maravilhosa para o castelo e é enorme. Apesar de parecer velho e antiquado a limpeza dos quartos é excelente e a qualidade da roupa de cama é também excelente. Conveniente a localização, próximo ao centro histórico e às trilhas que dão acesso ao castelo dos mouros e palácio da Pena. Definitivamente recomendo!

Shalet Relogio выбрали для проживания в районе Синтры по расположению и архитектурным особенностям дома. Провели в нем 5 ночей. Прекрасный дом с аутентичной мебелью и деревянными лестницами в гостевой части. Прекрасный сад, на заднем дворе большой бассейн с множеством карпов Кои. Есть веранда , где можно завтракать и проводить свободное время, наслаждаясь видом сада, окружающего леса и замком Мавров. Естьдве стоянки для 10 машин. Въездные ворота не закрываются. Посетителям выдаются ключи от номера и входной двери. Вход в гостевую часть круглосуточный. В стоимость проживания входит завтрак, который неизменно очень сытный, разнообразный и вкусный. Хозяин дома радушный, внимательный и доброжелательный, каждое утро спускается к завтраку и расспрашивает гостей о возможных проблемах и пожеланиях. В номере есть все небходимое, как и указано в описании на бронирование. Прекрасный быстрый Wi-Fi. Для зимнего периода в номере имеется обогревающая батарея и переносной масляный обогреватель. В большой гостинной комнате есть прекрасный камин. К небольшим недостаткам можно отнести межкомнатную слышимость и скрипучесть деревянных конструкций и кроватей, что обусловленно возрастом дома и мебели, а также относитльно поздний завтрак, который начинается в 09:00. Однако, мы относим их к субъективным впечатлениям, которые отступают перед всеми остальными положительными впечатлениями от дома, сада, обслуживания и условий проживания. Рекомендуем Shalet Relogio как для путешествующих вдвоем, так и для семей с детьми, для которых имеются все условия.

Prachtig gelegen authentieke villa met bezieling. Vanuit onze kamer zicht op de ruïnes van het Moorse kasteel op de berg van de Maan. Uitgebreid ontbijt met diverse kazen, fijnkost, verse broodjes, gebakjes en fruit. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en eigenaar. Echte aanrader!

Acolhedor, limpo e com um toque antigo interessante. Inserido num verde fantástico e perto de tudo! Merecia um pequeno almoço mais rico, mas ainda assim foi satisfatório.

Palacete com quartos muito confortáveis

Espectacular, con vistas al castillo de los moros. En medio de la naturaleza, muy tranquilo, servicio muy bueno, muy limpio y hablan un poco de español. Si vienes a Sintra o Lisboa y vienes en coche, no dudes en alojarte aqui He tenido que editar la reseña porque al bajar a desayunar di con uno de los sitios donde más tranquilo he desayunado fuera de casa, mucha variedad para escoger, superando con creces al de los hoteles. De verdad que si pasáis por Lisboa y venís en coche no dudéis en dormir aqui.

Desde a chegada até à partida foi tudo oerfeito. Simpatia, profissionalismo, higiene. Boa comida ao pequeno-almoço. O quarto era excelente. A repetir. Recomendo.

Guest house num edifício histórico, com cerca de 140 anos de idade, acolhedor e charmoso. Sem elevador, mas a vista deslumbrante para o castelo dos mouros (mas só os quartos superiores) compensa. Ambiente familiar.

Excellente adresse : ce chalet est plutôt une magnifique demeure ancienne, au charme fou. L'accueil du propriétaire hollandais est chaleureux (dans un anglais parfait) Chambre confortable et surtout, Excellentissime breakfast, qui vaut facilement cinq étoiles, riche varié et d'excellente qualité. Top !

Очень понравилось. Из минусов нет лифта. Комнаты расположены на 2 и 3 этажах. Так что багаж не должен быть тяжёлым. Мне с багажом помог сотрудник гостиницы. Плюсы всегда есть горячий кофе и чай. Завтрак более разнообразен чем в гостинице до этого. Можно брать фрукты. Красивый интерьер, рядом с достопримечательностями.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The setting is picturesque, but it's out of the way and a car is a must. Driving those roads around Sintra is not for the faint of heart (though the walking required if you rely on public transportation is even worse). We chose this hotel because it had parking. And that was definitely a plus. The room itself was ok. Nothing special. No amenities. It was hot and the owner had no fan for us to use. We just had to open the windows and wait for the night air to cool the room. Then the drain in the shower wasn't adequate for the water pressure. My oblivious sister let the water run over the shower and she flooded the bathroom and room. When I tried to find someone to get towels, there was no one around. At 7:30 am??? Good thing we were checking out and could use the blankets from the bed to sop up the water. We left too early for breakfast but a nice bagged breakfast of sandwiches, cake, water, juice, and bananas was waiting for us. The owner asked for cash payment - I didn't press the issue because it was only €70.

Pitoresco, simpático e perto do centro histórico.

For asian it was good experience to stay in Characteristic hotel. Excellent breakfast. The owner and staff were kind and friendly. Spacious parking lot. Bathroom and room are clean.

El Chalet Relogio esta en un emplazamiento maravilloso, con excelentes vistas al Castillo do mouros y a los bosques que rodean a toda la montaña. A sólo 15 minutos a pie del centro de Sintra y de camino al Castillo do mouros y al Palacio da Pena a demás de a otros lugares de interés. Ha sido un viaje de pareja y la estancia ha sido de 3 noches, la habitación y las instalaciones estaban muy bien cuidadas y limpias y a demás eran muy bonitas, también tiene aparcamiento privado en el recinto y gratuito. Hay una excelente terraza en la entrada de la casa, que apesar del frío de noviembre apetecía estar tanto de día como de noche para disfrutar de las vistas y el interior de la casa era muy cálido y agradable, con chimenea y radiadores modernos bien adaptados. La atención ha sido muy satisfactoria, el dueño y otra mujer que había eran muy agradables, atentos, agradecidos y simpáticos. En el desayuno había variedad y estaba estupendo. Sin duda lo recomendaré a amig@s y no dudaría en repetir. Salud!!!

Donos atenciosos, construção histórica e bem cuidada. Localizada longe da cidade mas no meio da paz da natureza.

All in all it is a nice, stylish place in proximity of the main tourist attractions in Sintra. However, the smell of the home fragrance is way too strong and the mini bar is quite loud (plug it off). Card payment should not be a problem (it is possible if you really insist).

We spend 2 nights in January in this place. They were the coldest nights during all our trip. We came to Chalet around 00 o'clock. The door was closed and it seemed that nobody waited for us. After we saw a note and a phone number without a code of a country. Of course we did not know it and had not lonely planet or somebody near to ask. Thanks god we found it in one of our tickets. So we had called and after some time a women opened a door. She was not glad to see us and told that check in till 8 pm. After we came in, she showed our room. It was ok but too cold. There is only one heater and it was not enough. There is no heating in all house, so it is realy bad idea to stay there in autumn-summer time. I think that in Summer it is good. Wifi only on the first flour. Breakfast was terrible with instant coffee. Very poor.

красивое старинное здание , принадлежащее пожилой паре завтрак не обилен , но продукты качественные и кофе неплох запах старого дома , но чисто предпочтителен 2 этаж
