The property is perfectly located near the Sintra city centre as well as the walking paths towards the castle/villa. It is also in immaculate condition with each room recently refurbished (or seemingly so). The downstairs common area is a very nice touch and guests have access to a fully kitted out kitchen and lovely tables/outdoor patio. The management was as good as it gets with lots of information provided, friendly chats, and very quick at responding to queries. I definitely recommend this guest house (hotel really) but do have to say it was a bit pricey.

Der Empfang im Hotel war überaus herzlich, wir wurden mit jeder Menge Informationen versorgt, die sich als sehr nützlich erwiesen. Obwohl das Hotel eher klein ist, gab es ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück mit viel frischem Obst und selbstgebackenem Kuchen. Die Lage des Hotels ist günstig.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay here and wish I had an extra night. The location is right in the historical center of Sintra and near the main sites, like Quinta da Regaleira. The property is beautiful and well-designed. The hosts at this property were also so caring, as well as helpful with planning my itinerary to make the most out of my stay in Sintra. The breakfast spread that comes with the stay is plentiful. There were various breads, meats and cheeses, different cakes, fruits, juices, coffee, and so much more. I would definitely come back here!!

This is a great place to stay in Sintra. It’s an old house, with all modernity inside. Beautiful decorated, with an incredible service, delicious breakfast, and SUPER clean. The hospitality of his owner is amazing !!!

Sauberes und super gelegenes Hotel. Frühstück ausreichend, ist alles da was man braucht. Die Lage kann nicht besser sein, Hop on/Hop off oder Tagesbustickets sind nicht nötig da alles um das Hotel gelegen ist und fussläufig erreichbar ist. Hotelbesitzer geben hier viel Infos wie man wo hinkommt und was man sehen sollte. Empfehlen wir gerne weiter!!

Very nice accomodation and the host Sofia was lovely ! Place is located in the center of Sintra at 2 minutes from the National Palazzo ; Definitely a good place to stay; Just to inform you that the toilet is in the bedroom so consider it if you have privacy difficoulties.

Wonderful nook in the heart of old Sintra - highly recommend this place! Beware it is not on a main street and Google maps has difficulty in directions if you are driving. Pay attention to the location indicator and not the driving directions! Hospitality was fantastic and easy access to all major locations in Sintra from this very charming and well located facility.

The staff were excellent and helpful. Manuel, Sofia and Hannah could not be any nicer. The breakfast was delicious and Manuel even offered to take some bread and cheese for our luncheon picnic on departure. Highly recommend this lovely spot in historic Sintra

If sleeping is not important, it's a great hotel. There is a bar across the street from the hotel that stays open very late. I am writing this at 2am on a Wednesday night/Thurs morning as two guys are standing in the doorway of the bar speaking loudly. We have been trying to sleep since 11pm but the noise from the people standing inside, outside, in the doorway of the bar speaking, carrying and walking to and from the bar make it impossible to sleep. Even with all the doors and windows closed in our room, which makes it VERY stuffy, since there is no AC. Other than that it's a great location, but bring ear plugs, white noise machine, and sleeping pills, or just plan on not sleeping if you have a courtyard facing room.

This hotel was great! Very comfortable bed, pillows, and bathroom. The wi-fi worked fine, there is free cake!, and breakfast was very good. I went for a very long run the morning we checked out, and he gave me access to the toaster before I left so I could eat early. And even though I missed breakfast, the owner brought out all of the leftovers again and served me. Really lovely man and very proud of his hotel, which was very quaint and charming. The plugs were a little hard to navigate with North American adaptors because of where they were located, but we made it work.The biggest complaint was the noise from the street. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was a bit too complicated for us to figure out after we came in late, so we needed the windows open (the hotel has limited reception hours so you cant just call down to the desk whenever). There was a bar just down the street with some super obnoxious customers, not to mention the motorcycle man who felt the need to compensate for something throughout the night by extensively revving his bike. I was so desperate for sleep I tried googling instructions at 2am on how to use the air, but still couldnt figure it out.I am personally a very light sleeper, but my husband isnt, and even he had trouble sleeping with the windows open. So if you go during the summer, make sure you know how to use the a/c before bedtime! Despite that, I would still recommend the hotel, we had a good experience.

The Aguamel Guest House is a charming small hotel in the center of Sintra’s historic town center. The hotel is very cozy, clean, and well managed. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The only thing I found uncomfortable was that our room on the top floor had a slanted ceiling on one side, and I was constantly running into it, since I’m just over 6’ tall. The breakfast room was a bit cramped, too. Overall we were quite happy with our stay, however.

El hotel nos encantó. La atención de Sofía y de Manuel inmejorables. Nada más llegar te sientes como en tu casa. Acogedor, buena decoración. Puedes acceder a la cocina y a la nevera .......Céntrico a más no poder. Lo tienes todo a mano. Lástima que tuvimos otro inquilino en la hab de al lado terriblemente inquieto y ruidoso. Ah ! El desayuno genial. Y siempre hay queque recién hecho para coger cuando quieras junto con un buen café. Volvería otra vez sin duda.

Once we found it.. we were very impressed by the location (right in the heart of historic) Sintra, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was varied including boiled eggs, meat, cheese, fruit and bread. The Hostess was very pleasant and helpful with navigating around Sintra. Having a car is problematic due to limited spaces but once we got settled we parked our car close to our accommodations and left it there for the duration of the stay. I would recommend this place.

This was my first stay at a guesthouse and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a lovely experience. My room was well decorated and cozy. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. There was a slight damp smell in the room, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The hosts were very hospitable. The lack of an elevator wasn’t a major problem, but I would suggest packing light. Indira kindly helped with my bag which was appreciated. Great location. Would definitely stay there again.

Rooms was lively as was the property and location. Staff were friendly, going out of their way to help and provide advice on where to explore. Really good breakfast. Highly recommend!

Such a fantastic stay! The location, the breakfast, the room setting, and the staff service, everything is perfect! The only thing is that the mobile network and wifi is not so stable here. And when there're somebody using the water in lower floors, the water pressure for 2nd floor is not enough to pump. But this doesn't affect my love of this place, very very impressive.

The hotel was beautiful, the location was perfect, and breakfast was delicious. The best part of our stay was the very kind and considerate staff. They gave my daughter a birthday present and made me a special drink because I had a terrible cold.

Lovely rooms, helpful and friendly staff - special thank you to Manuel. Free tea and cake every day a lovely touch, breakfast very nice tasty and plentiful. Location couldnt be better for seeing all the main attractions - Sintra National Palace, Pena Palace, Moorish Castle and Quinta de Regaleira all within walking distance, loads of restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend!

This property is really well located very nice and clean. I really enjoy it. You have to be very careful when arriving to it because its a quite difficult arriving by google maps.

the location is excellent and the atmosphere is great, womens touch is all around the place. We had the top floor room, the room has low bed, getting into the bed and out off the bed is not recomanded for tall people.the table is tiny, if you plan to use your PC its tough.Breakfast is great

Manuel’s welcome and wish to help us was fantastic. The breakfast he put on was excellent, the honesty kitchen was a great offering. (I hope guests don’t take advantage of it!). The rooms had unique charm and character. The WiFi could have been stronger and more consistent.

Really wonderful boutique guest house. Owner Manuel and front-of-house Sofia are both very friendly and accommodating. They were both very understanding about us having our baby son with us and gave excellent recommendations. The room was spacious (for Europe) and very tastefully decorated, with cute bookshelves, nooks, and a very decently sized closet. Breakfast buffet was excellent for a guest house of this size, with homemade croissants and coffee cakes. The hotel also offers complimentary tea, water, and cakes in the lobby, and an "honesty kitchen" where you can purchase yogourt, wine, bottles of water, etc from the fridge. Overall, very clean, spacious, and classy place. Only areas where they could use a little improvement are the tone of the initial e-mail conversations before we arrived (which were a little cold/confrontational) and slight mould in the grout of the shower walls (we tried to leave the shower fan on at all times to remove any moisture and prevent the mould from growing, but Sofia told us to turn it off, so *shrug*). Really lovely people and excellent service.

Wer nach Sintra reisen will, sollte sich unbedingt überlegen, im Águamel Sintra zu wohnen. Super Lage, sehr nette Leute, schicke Zimmer in einem alten Haus im Kern der Altstadt und super Frühstück. Unter dem Tag gibt es gratis Kuchen, Tee und Kaffee. Muito obrigado e até mais!

Chegamos lá e não tinha ninguém para nós atender. Ficamos esperando no frio até conseguir telefonar para o atendente. No quarto dava para ver quem estava tomando banho ou usando o banheiro... Um lado bom: eles dão bolo, água e chá a vontade.
