This place is super sweet! Both the owner of the restaurant and his son are really paying close attention, they are very friendly and after some time you just have the feeling that you came home to a relative, or visited a close friend, because you feel so welcome there. But let's also mention the food! The tapas was really nice, we had the tuna paté, and this beautiful plate I also attached as a picture. Onion jam was soooo nice, I think we got refill so many times, I didn't dare to count! So, if you want a cozy experience in the cozy Porto, than this little gem is highly recommended. :)

Our first day in Porto on Sept. 30, 2019 we spent our afternoon here before our airbnb next door was open. Owners were so friendly. We became friends and regularly stopped in for wine and food. Great place to hang out. You have to have the smoked salmon and eel! Everything else is great too. Clearly a memory place for us. The Portuguese people are so nice.

Wir sind eher über diese charmante Weinbar gestolpert, da wir ganz in der Nähe wohnten. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung! Die beiden Wirte waren sehr herzlich, angenehme Gesprächs Partner, ohne auch nur einen Moment aufdringlich zu wirken. Der Wein hervorragend, leider hatten wir an beiden Abenden die wir dort verbrachten, schon gegessen, was die anderen Gäste auf den Brettern hatten, hätte mir sicher auch geschmeckt. Die kleine Weinbar hat eine gute Größe, so dass wir an jedem Abend ganz gemütlich mit anderen Gästen ins Gespräch kamen. Es war wie die Stimmung wenn man mit Unbekannten auf einer Party in der Küche sitzt. Sollten wir Porto je wieder besuchen, freuen wir uns auf die Abende hier!

We really enjoyed ourselves. First night in our annual anniversary trip to Porto. First visit here. The owners know and love their food and wine. Cosy, intimate, local. Their compassion to being hospital is clearly expressed through the food and drink they put in front of you. It takes a bit to get such a glowing review from me. But I honestly look forward to going back.

Fantastisk oplevelse med den herligste betjening. Har aldrig smagt en så velsmagende Sangria. Måske du er heldig også at opleve live musik her også. Vil du forkæle dig selv og vil opleve en dejlig portugisisk stemning så er du komme til det rigtige sted.

Deze twee heren zijn 3 maanden geleden begonnen met hun nieuwe avontuur en doen het serieus leuk en goed! Je wordt er heel erg warm en vriendelijk onthaald en er hangt een zeer goede atmosfeer. Het eten en drinken is verrukkelijk en de zaak is netjes en schoon. Keep up the good work guys!!

Na een ochtend slenteren door de stad en na het beklimmen van de 75 meter hoge toren hadden wij wel zin in een lunch. Bij toeval liepen we langs de kleine leuke tentje. Het zag er uitnodigend uit. We stapten binnen en werden super vriendelijk ontvangen. We kregen de kaart en er werd goed uitleg gegeven over wat alles was. We bestelden en de twee mannen gingen direct samen de keuken in om voor ons iets geweldigs te maken. Al snel kwam er nog een groep van 4 binnen lopen. Ook zij werden zeer vriendelijk geholpen. In totaal is er plek voor ongeveer 12 personen. Er hangt een erg fijne sfeer. Wij kregen een heerlijk broodje opgediend in een pannetje. Er kwam nog een zelfgemaakte jam bij die echt super heerlijk was. De heren zijn lekker toegankelijk en vertelden dat ze hier pas drie maanden zaten. Ze zijn hun droom achterna gegaan en na 20 jaar in het bankwezen werkzaam te zijn geweest zijn ze dit gaan doen. De zaak was een barbershop en die hebben ze omgebouwd tot restaurant. Het is super leuk aangekleed, netjes en schoon. Zelfs het toilet was schoon, echt een verademing. (de meeste toiletten in porto zijn erg vies met overal papier in de hoek en overvolle prullenbakken) Ondanks de gezelligheid binnen en de enorme regenbui buiten besloten we toch om te verder te gaan. Wij wilden nog een paar dingen zien (vandaar is onze laatste dag hier) maar spraken wel af om ‘s avondas terug te komen om bij de mannen port te komen proeven. Weet niet of ze ons geloofden dat we terug zouden komen, we zijn tenslotte toeristen ;-) Maar toen we weer voor hun neus stonden ‘s avonds werden we weer met open armen ontvangen. (Zoals iemand anders in de review schreef “je wordt onthaald als een lokale celebrity” dat klopt echt!) Wij hebben de heren de vrije hand gegeven voor ons lekkere tappas op tafel te zetten en een port uit te zoeken. De combi was wederom verrukkelijk. Echt, hoe de smaken samen komen heerlijk! Tijdens het kletsen hoorden we ineens Nederlandstalige muziek uit de speakers komen. Hadden ze dat gewoon even opgezocht, echt zo lachen :-) Door de enorme regenbuien van vandaag waren wij de enige gasten vanavond. Hierdoor konden we nog meer kletsen met de heren. Erg gezellig. Deze tent is echt een aanrader om binnen te stappen en te genieten van het eten. De heren zijn vriendelijk, netjes en beleefd. Niet overdreven, je hebt echt het gevoel dat ze zichzelf zijn en je behandelen zoals ze zelf ook behandeld willen worden. Ze zijn niet opdringerig, eigenlijk hebben wij alleen maar positiviteit over deze tent. Zelfs de prijs is niet duur. In principe komen wij nooit op de zelfde plek terug als waar we al eens geweest zijn, maar mocht het zo zijn dat we nog een keer naar Porto gaan gaan we zeker hier weer eten en even gedag zeggen. Thanks heren voor deze super leuke laatste avond die wij in Porto met jullie mochten beleven. Succes met de zaak en geniet ervan!

Recommend the 10 year Sandeman port and cheese and meat platter board, really top quality ingredients. You would never have thought these two started this place only months ago.

С точки зрения пафоса и соответстветствия моде - наверное,2 из 10,что от в данном случае +,если понимаете,о чем я..Заведение небольшое,на 7 столов,чтобы прочувствовать всю атмосферу и колорит Порту.Вам,однозначно,сюда,если в фанат ортодоксалных заведений, избегаете толп туристов и цените хорошее вино, иначе - лучше мимо.

We were lucky enough to stay directly next door to Have a Bite. As we waited to check into our Airbnb, we grabbed a drink and knew we would return later for lunch. Philipe and Armando are true gentlemen and professionals. They are welcoming, great conversationalists and overall, genuinely amazing people. The food was out of this world and the hospitality unmatched. Our last night in Porto we decided to spend at their place and they made us feel at home for the two plus hours we spent there. If you are ever in Porto, this is an absolute must visit. Thank you again Philipe and Armando for making our time in Porto even more amazing! We wish you the best of luck and much success! This place is a real gem! Cozy, with delicious food, excellent wine, great atmosphere.. and the hosts are not less than amazing! They are very welcoming and friendly, they did everything to make me feel home! Result? I had such a great time and I can't wait to be back! 100% recommended

Cozy little place hidden in a side street. Very hospitable owners who will make you feel welcomed and will serve you delicious, homemade food and even pair it with wine/drinks if you like. This is not fast food and not the typical Portuguese tapas. The food appears simple but always has a certain twist to it. You can definitely taste the love and passion those two have for what they are doing with every bite! We've been there two days in a row and I would highly recommend this place to everybody.

Amazing little find, must try. We had a wonderful near and cheese board, along with some surprisingly special smoked eel. The curry tuna pate was a great starter choice too. And don't skip on the white sangria, wow.

We discovered this on foot by accident and we walked into a little table right by the big open doors. Inside was an intimate crowd and 2 gentlemen which were the hosts. It seemed at first that we were local celebrities by how we were treated. We ordered the port and some snacks and the hosts were more then friendly, exceeding any expectations anyone could ever have. They talked to us, made us feel welcome, explained the restaurant and the local drinks. I would fly back to Porto just to go back to this bar. 11/10 would recommend to anyone.

Found this gem of a place while wondering along the back streets of Porto. Great lunch that just hit the spot, with food, a small beer and a coffee. Loved it!

What a wonderful experience at a family owned gem in the heart of Porto. This was a definite highlight of our trip! We shared the cheese board, sautéd mushrooms and sausage plate accompanied by local wines. Beautiful dishes, quality ingredients and kind, friendly and passionate hosts. Thank you for having us. Fabulous small cafe / bar. A hidden gem. The owners are so welcoming and clearly love their new business. We had a fantastic lunch menu of sandwich (gorgeous bread with super fresh mozzarella and tomatoe) a delicious vino verdhe, and a coffee for an absolute bargain of 7.90 euros !!! My husband had a cheese plate which was great, served with wonderful homemade chutney. Overall a delightful spot to stumble upon

Excelente, superou largamente as espetativas! A total simpatia dos donos acompanha muito bem as sandes requintadas e outros petiscos com que somos presenteados, num ambiente que, sendo acolhedor, rima com tudo o resto. Bem no centro do Porto, não temos duvidas em lá voltar repetidas vezes. Do melhor que a cidade tem para oferecer neste concorrido ramo da restauração. Do you want to "Have a Bite"?
