Naprosto vychillované místo. Vřelé přivítání a rodinná atmosféra.

I did stay in the hostel for a weekend with friends and we had a great time. Bruno and his team warmly welcomed us, and the surf session we had was a great experience.
Close to the ocean, with a pretty big swimming pool, the house is perfect to chill and relax. If you plan to spend your days in Porto you will need to arrange taxi trips, otherwise it’s a really good spot, especially for groups.

Amazing lodge! I definitely recommend. Rooms are cozy and not expensive. You have a free continental breakfast from 9 to 11am. There is a comfy living room with Netflix and outside a big and well maintained garden with swimming pool. For the summer season I recommend to stay in cute bungalows. Salty lodge is right next to the beach, so it's a perfect place for sunsets. Also they provide surf lessons with friendly instructors. Not to forget, the vibe is really young and easy going and you can meet fellow travelers, volunteers and of course... Salty the dog!
Enjoy

We booked our stay here because we wanted to combine exploring Porto and being near the Ocean. We stayed late August - beginning of September.
Commute:
- 8 minutes to reach the ocean by foot.
- around 40 minutes to reach porto by public transport. (unlike Germany, all public transport had an AC, which was a nice surprise).
- around 35-55 to reach porto by bicycle, assuming you cycle along the beach, since otherwise the area is quite hilly.
- bakeries and restaurants are within walking distance 10-20 minutes (well priced).
- supermarket is too far unless you have a car imo.
- 20-25 minutes with Uber (12-14 euro) to Porto, 30-40 minutes to Airport (22 euro)
Location:
The Water was very cold (17 degrees), most would call it too cold to swim: we did swim once and it was enough.
The Beach area is very nice, not busy, however, 80% of beaches around are not suitable for swimming due to rocky surface. You have to walk at least for 20 minutes to find the closest beach to swim.
The area was also much cooler than in the city due to the ocean, and oftentimes very foggy in the morning, which we found nice.
Hostel:
Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the hostel, although I believe lots of it was due to the fact the we took a private room, instead of a bunghalo.
- no wifi in the room
- we had nowhere to put our basic stuff in, like tootpaste. There was no drawer, just an empty piece of wood (see photo). the cupboard they have has no sections.
- the room was just next to the shared toilet\bathroom, and the 2 "dorm" rooms are just around the corner. Soundproofing in the room was non existent, you will hear everyone unless you use earplugs.
- 2 of 4 sockets were broken, only 1 working socket near the bed.
- when we arrived at breakfast, there was just one free plate left.
Breakfast itself was basic (expected).
- the kitchen was oftentimes not clean.
- the living area and the garden were nice.
- the bathroom was shared. The sink tap was semibroken: water would spray in all directions, same goes for shower tap.

We really had a bad experience here. I had good hopes because of all the good reviews. First, nobody answered the door or phone when we arrived. We let ourselves in through the fence, and everyone was sitting outside. They said check-in was 2 hours later because of some cleaning, and that they texted us about it (we didn't receive anything). When we came back 2 hours later, the room was still not ready.
When it was finally ready, we just got the key, no information given at all about breakfast, activities, the surf-classes they offer, etc. I also had to correct the manager who was charging us too much (we paid deposit already beforehand, but again charged full amount. This was fixed, but I found it very messy).
We had no idea who was the staff or who was staying. There was only one nice girl from the staff, we knew she was staff because she said hello to us every day and was interested.
The bungalow was not great either. The beds are terrible: just folding beds with loose mattresses on it that slide away, just like the bed sheets which were too small. The towels they provided were smelly. The shower head couldn't hang so you had to hold it all the time.
The breakfast was also just white bread, some sugary jam/nutella, and milk with cereals.
Also, there was not much to do around it (this is not the hostel's fault of course). They didn't have bikes, which was mentioned on their website.
Yes, the garden is beautiful, it's nice that it's close to the beach, but that's all we liked about it.
We actually left 2 nights earlier because we really wanted to leave.
Could be a really nice hostel, if they hired a more professional staff or were more critical about their volunteers.

No joke, the best hostel I've ever stayed at in my life. The scenery is beautiful, the vibes are super chilled, the pool is fresh, there is a super legend dog called Salty who's so friendly. The staff Hilla and Benjamin were absolute legends, super friendly and helpful and made our stay one of the best times of our lives. The surfing lessons were great value, with awesome teachers too. Highly recommend visiting here if you visit Porto.

Muy lindo y acogedor.atencion10

Be careful. Leaving bugalow is to small and owner can take additional money for nothing. Not friendly for childs! Dog can eat some of your stuff.

A nice and cosy place. A little bit messy because of open spaces occupied by young and loud tenants:) The ocean is in two streets from the lodge. Hovewer, the beach is very rocky and therefore not accommodated for swimming.
