Não sei como são as comodidades, mas em termos de ética de negócio este hostel tem pouca classe, aliás nenhuma! Pedi reserva para uma semana, disponibilizei me para avançar com pagamento na totalidade. Após de obter resposta positiva da reserva disseram para aguardar o recebimento de dados para pagamento. Passado um dia recebi resposta que houve um erro e um dia ao meio da semana não cabia na reserva. Ou seja, mandaram me esperar porque já sabiam que esta situação podia acontecer, mas para não perder logo o cliente, porque "pode ser que calha" fizeram me esperar e perder tempo. E ainda por cima, depois de me ter dirigido ao funcionário/representante do hostel por "tu", indicando lhe que é um mentiroso, este, em vez de arranjar soluções, respondeu que eu é que sou o mal educado. Saliento também que a mensagem do mesmo referia apenas as desculpas do sucedido, mas não as soluções da resolução da situação. Simplesmente não deu para encaixar e fui descartado. Bons negócios ;)

I had a great time staying at this hostel. It was very well-maintained, super clean, staff were fantastic it felt just like I was at home. There are views from the top floor balcony over Porto. There are some fantastic restaurants just down the street overlooking and right along the river which I highly recommend and many different Port tasting bars.

Sehr gutes Hostel.Lage ideal.Stadtzentrum sehr schnell erreichbar. Sehr nette Vermieter. Tolles Frühstück mit selbst gebackenem Kuchen. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Sanitäre Anlagen sehr gut. Sauberkeit hervorragend. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Familiäre Atmosphäre.Jederzeit wieder!!!! Danke!

Best hostel i stayed in Porto. Amazing location on Gaia side with green garden on the roof overlooking central Porto and river. Amazing view especially in the evening. You can buy bottle of port wine and drink during evening... Stayed in dorm and on second visit in private room with my girlfriend. Both visits amazing. Clean rooms and bathrooms. In morning huge breakfast is served by owners family. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Porto.

Melhor hostel que já fiquei até hoje. Super cômodo, bom atendimento, bom café da manhã, boa estrutura, boa localização, uma vista linda da cidade, um amor de decoração... Enfim, para mim foi nota mil!!

I had a flight cancelled heading to Porto, Portugal and I was without WiFi. When I finally reach Porto at around midnight the following day and on my way to to this hostel, I get the following message: I'm João Saavedra, the owner of the hostel Gaia Porto, and father of two little boys, that I just missed to put them on bed because I was waiting for a miserable person like you. That simply didnt show up at the Hostel and didnt had the honesty of sending a email or a text to cancel the reservation. You are the smart guy that give a invalid credit card to book this reservation and now we werent able to charge you the three nights. Dont worry, I will do everything to charge you this miserable amount of 45€ of your reservation. Our family wish you a great 2019. This is a very cosy place. It's great if you just want a place to sleep on your travels. The beds are very comfortable, everything is very clean, it's family owned and it shows in the attention to detail. I wouldn't suggest this place to solo travelers who want to meet people in a social environment, just because the communal areas are quite small and so is the hostel. Good place to recover for a couple nights though.

와이너리 뒤쪽으로 5분 정도 올라가면 있는 호스텔이에요. 주로 2인실이고 6인 도미토리는 하나 뿐이에요. 주인 부부가 정말 친절하고 호스텔을 깨끗하게 꾸려가요. 이불도 깨끗하고 푹신합니다. 층마다 방이 두 개씩 있고 화장실 겸 욕실도 하나 있어요. 따뜻한 물 잘 나오지만 샤워실이 좁아요. 옷을 걸어둘 곳이 밖에 있는데 샤워부스가 두 개고 화장실이 옆에 있어서 그게 좀 불편해요. 종종 욕실 전체 문을 잠그고 샤워하는 사람들이 있으면 화장실도 나머지 샤워실 하나도 이용하기 어려워요. 다른 층 샤워실을 이용하면 되지만요. 6인 도미토리는 많이 좁아요. 4인실이면 딱 좋을 것 같은데. 침대랑 캐비넷 빼고 남은 바닥에 짐 두면 꽉 차요. 그게 좀 아쉬워요.

Ótima localização, recepção calorosa e muito conforto.

아침에 초코 시리얼 콘푸레이크, 홈메이드 시나몬 케이크와 과일 햄 치즈(종류 다양함) 다양한 잼들을 조식으로 먹을 수 있어요! 방으로 향하는 계단 위쪽으로 계속올라가면 정원이랑 연결되어있는데 가볼만 해요!! 주인아저씨가 무척 깔끔하셔서 청결도는 걱정 할필요 전혀 없어요!!

Buen hostal. Las habitaciones a la calle se escucha el ruido del tráfico ya que la calzada es de adoquines. El gerente Joao muy atento y servicial. Recomendable.

A perfect place from which you can visit Porto. Although is in Viana de Castelo is near de river, and the great Ponte Luis I, where you can have a drink or a meal in many places. The owner is very kind, offered us a porto wine, and had a place to store or bikes. Also there is a terrace with nice views. The price is very affordable and the breakfast is included!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. João, der Besitzer, gibt sich sehr viel Mühe und ist mit Leidenschaft dabei. Man bekommt hilfreiche Tipps rundum Porto und ein außergewöhnlich gutes Frühstück. Das Hostel ist sehr sauber und die Atmosphäre ist entspannt. Gerne wieder!

Sehr sehr tolles Hostel. Dieses Hostel ist eines der besten, wenn nicht sogar das beste Hostel in dem ich bisher übernachtet habe. Unser Zimmer mit Bad war absolut ausreichend für uns zwei, wir hatten sogar einen schönen Blick rüber nach Porto. Das Badezimmer ist eigentlich groß genug, es ist mit der nach innen öffnenden Tür nur ab und zu etwas eng wenn man zum Klo/Dusche will, was aber überhaupt kein Problem für uns war. Was ich explizit loben möchte ist die Sauberkeit. Es ist eine familiengeführte Unterkunft die sehr liebevoll hergerichtet/eingerichtet ist, es gibt jeden Morgen ein (für ein Hostel) sehr üppiges und leckeres Frühstück mit Saft, Kaffee und Milch (auch Soja). Leckere Semmeln, Wurst, Käse und verschiedene süße Aufstriche (Nutella, Marmelade, Quittengelee) stehen auch immer am Tisch Mein persönliches Highlight war aber jeden Morgen der selbstgebackene Kuchen. Zur Lage, das Hostel befindet sich nicht in Porto selbst, sondern auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Douro in Villa Nova de Gaia. Aber auch das ist eher ein Pluspunkt, da man von hier aus sehr gut mit der Metro oder zu Fuß in die Altstadt kommt und immer eine schöne Aussicht auf das hüglige Porto hat (vor allem abends). Außerdem befinden sich alle bekannten Portwein Keller in Gaia in denen man natürlich eine Tour mit Verkostung machen sollte. Wie in jedem Hostel bietet auch dieses einiges an Aktivitäten an (Free Walking Tour, Wein Tour,...)

We had a great stay at the hostel, we were very well received with information about what to do, where to go. Very clean room and cosy. Make sure to ask for AC our room didn’t had it. Best hostel breakfast we got in our whole trip.

Es un lugar limpio tanto el baño como las habitaciones estaban limpias, esta ubicado a 30 min del centro caminando y tiene una terraza muy linda de la cual se aprecia un hermoso paisaje, además cuentan con un equipo de staff muy amable. Me parece que le hace falta mantenimiento a los seguros de las puertas del baño y los grifos.

Nos gustó este hostel en el que pasamos 3 noches. Cama muy cómoda, desayuno muy completo y personal muy amable. Como pero, no te libras de 5 minutos de cuestas para ir a la estación de metro mas cercana o para volver al hostel, pero estando en Oporto es bastante normal.

Nos ha encantado la amabilidad y atención recibidas en el hostal. Joao o Pedro te dan un mapa y te aconsejan sitios interesantes. La habitación y el desayuno también están muy bien. Hemos aparcado a 20 metros del hostal!

Nos gusto, es sencillo para pasar unos días, los recepcionistas no sabian español ,pero nos hicimos entender.Muy limpio.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer und alles sauber und ordentlich, das Frühstück in großer Runde bietet bei Smalltalk mit den anderen Gästen einen perfekten Start in den Tag. Ich war jetzt zum zweiten Mal dort und wenn es uns nochmal nach Porto verschlägt, werden wir auch wieder dort schlafen. Sowohl für Familien- als auch Kurztripp in der Gruppe sehr geeignet.

Geweldige vijf dagen in dit hostel gehad, we hadden een privé kamer voor twee personen met een fijn tweepersoonsbed en een eigen balkonnetje. ook heeft het hostel een eigen tuin met heel mooi uitzicht!! heerlijk om 's avonds nog even te zitten. Maar het beste aan deze plek is toch wel de eigenaar: een super aardige man die je alles over de omgeving en de stad Porto kan vertellen. 's ochtends regelt hij een lekker ontbijt en aan de grote tafel in de kamer geeft hij je met liefde allemaal tips over wat je allemaal kan doen. Als ik ooit weer in Porto ben slaap ik hier!

Die Lage erscheint etwas abgelegen, doch wer etwas berggängig ist, kann alles zu Fuss erreichen. Der große Küchentisch ist beim Frühstück für kontaktfreudige Reisende das Kommunikations-Zentrum des Hauses. Und GastgeberJoao ist mit perfektem Englisch und einem verschmitzten Augenzwinkern mittendrin.

In diesem Hostel waren wir mit meiner besten Freundin zusammen. Uns beiden hat der Aufenthalt und die Atmospere dort sehr gut gefallen. Man kann nicht nur mit allen zusammen in der Küche frühstücken, sindern auch im Garten mit einem schönen Ausblick auf die Stadt Porto, was wir auch paar Mal gemacht haben :) DIe Lage ist einfach nur perfekt. Man läuft 5-10 Min Straße runter und befindet sich direkt am Douro Ufer. Das Hostel liegt nicht weit weg von der Train-Station, auch etwa 5-10 Min zu Fuß. Wenn ihr einen Aufenthalt für Ihren Urlaub braucht, kann ich euch das Gaia-Porto Hostel nur empfehlen :)

Friendly owners, greeted with delicious port and cake on arrival. Nice, free breakfast. Plenty parking outside the door. Comfortable and clean rooms. Owners have a wealth of knowledge and great recommendations for Porto and all of Portugal.

Perfect location to enjoy porto and learn about the history of the old town and its port wine production. The hostel is in a traditional street that leads down to the water with great views. Portuguese owned with modern hostel facilities in a beautiful old building, very clean and very welcoming. I wouldnt stay anywhere else!

I really love this hostel and Im treated as a family member. The tour recommendation is great and makes me know this city more. I also went to the hostel recommend restaurants and the food is delicious

Location of hostel is fantastic. Within 10 minutes walk to riverfront and several Port wineries. Gustavo Joao Marta, aka Joao, was the consummate host. He gave us some great tips on off-the-beaten-path things (e.g. Where to get a good authentic Franchesinha).His welcoming white port with an orange cake was a great welcoming touch. And at our breakfast every morning we had a chance to sample a different cake (no port though, ha ha). One suggestion for Joao would be to include hard boiled eggs as a breakfast choice. Everything else was up to par. The most challenging thing about the hostel is the stairs. Joao did everything in his power to take care of this. Didnt have to lug up our several pieces of luggage. My 86 year old mother-in-law also managed the twelve steps to her private room with a shared bathroom for several nights. Our private room was another couple of dozen steps up on the second floor with a private bath. Helped us work off all that rich Portuguese food and Port. Hospitality and morning visits with the guests were delightful. This will be one place We would come back to.

João was a phenomenal host. He was so welcoming and friendly. This was a perfect place to stay as a solo traveller looking for friends and a clean safe place to stay. A true example of how a hostel should be run.

I stayed at Gaia Hostel with a friend and we had an amazing time. Jõao and his family are more than friendly and made us feel at home. The highlight was the dinner they prepared. Recommended! The rooms are clean, very modern and nice. Being located at a sweet little alley up the hill in Gaia you will have an amazing view on the city from one of the garden terraces. Many thanks again Jõao!

Gaia hostel is located in the beautiful Ries street of V.N. de Gaia. The place has a cool styling and a worm staff. Joao, the owner, will help you with everything before you even asked :) We stayed in the douro suite and enjoyed our stay very much. And the staff even cleans it every day - somthing nice that usually hostels are not providing. The room had beautiful view and even fresh flowers! The lication is great, 5 min walk from the river and very quite. It is not in the center of the center in Porto, but in the quieter Gaia and we loved it.

Hotel muy bien situado en el casco histórico de Oporto (no lo busquéis a través de Expedia porque no viene ni el número de la calle). El propietario es muy amable y atento y el entorno es muy familiar y conciliador. Nos alojamos en la Suite con baño del segundo piso. Es verdad que no hay ascensor aunque el propietario se ofrece a subirte las maletas. La habitaión es acogedora aunque no muy grande. El colchón se hundía bastante pero lo peor sin duda es la baño. El agua de la ducha se sale por todos lados y además todos los grifos son de los que tienes que apretar un botón y a los pocos segundos se apagan. Imaginaros lo que es ducharse así. El desayuno es aceptable porque aunque no hay mucha variedad siempre tienes tartas típicas.

Non ci potrà essere scelta migliore per voi a Porto se cercate un bel posto dove dormire, conoscere viaggiatori, avere una base di appoggio per scoprire una città meravigliosa e andare a degustare il fantastico Porto... Per la mia discreta esperienza in fatto di ostelli direi decisamente fra i migliori in cui sia mai stato e a livello di trattamento - staff iper amichevole e professionale - e in termini logistici (c'è tutto quello che vi serve e un'area esterna incredibile con splendida vista sulla città) non solo in Portogallo, ma in tutta Europa!!! Spero di tornare fra non troppo tempo al fantastico Hostel Gaia e, se siete indecisi, non pensateci due volte: prenotate qua!!! :)
