This cafe looks like a tourist place from the outside, yet that is deceiving. It's popular with locals and tourists alike as the staff are friendly and the prices are local prices, as opposed to those created for tourists, i.e. more expensive. You can pop in just for coffee, cold drink, beer or wine, or try some of the local tapas dishes. Each week there is a local firewater of the week, a medronho de semana. Well worth tasting just a small one. Highly recommended, just 10 metres up the steps from the town square on the right.

We just stopped here for a drink and some tapas after walking around the tranquil streets of beautiful Monchique. Heitor (owner's son) served us and what a way to finish our visit. The setting was beautiful, the service from Heitor was excellent and the drinks/tapas complimented it all. Thank you for places like this.

Good food, extremely slow service. We ordered 4 tapas, and it took about 1 hour to get the food, even if we were the only customers that were in.

Grappig klein zaakje met wat authentieke hapjes. Brood met knoflook en brood met chorizo was lekker. Grote porties. Niet te duur.

Heerlijk gegeten, simpel maar zo hoort het in Portugal voor een klein prijsje.

Lovely place with lots of traditional products from Monchique. Really good to taste the flavours of the region. I highly recommended it.

Kleines Geschäft, das neben Marmeladen und Bränden auch ca. 5 verschiedene Tapas zum vor Ort Verzehren anbietet. Unsere drei Speisen waren ausgesprochen lecker und die Wirtin sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Tapas dienen gut als kleiner Snack zum Mittag oder aber man bestellt sie sich gleich mehrmals :) Lokal ist sehr klein und niedlich, hat aber ebenso viel Charme und ist scheinbar ein Geheimtipp, denn bei uns war sonst niemand im Laden. Vermutlich begnügten sich die anderen Touristen eher mit weißem Sandwich oder Pizza am Marktplatz.

Verdade que não entrei pois já estava fechado mas a decoração promete qualidade e muito bom gosto. A visitar...
