There are better wine places in town than this.
We came for wine (as it's a wine bar!) And the owner looked at us to determine whether we are good enough to get a table, felt like. There were plenty of empty tables and at 21:30 off- season.
The waiter smelled so badly of sweat, it was extremely unpleasant.
When asked for advice, no waiter could give a proper answer, did not even ask what kind of wine we like.
Pouring was done unprofessionally also.
Had one glass and left right away.

Excellent food and service! The staff is very friendly and the lovely owner cares personally about his guests.Everything we ordered was just fantastic! Thank you Antonio, we will come back next time!

Gleicher Eigentümer, gleiche Speisekarte, gleiches Essen wie im Atlantik. Relativ teuer und nur gutes Mittelmaß.

Good service, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Be very careful when ordering wine by the glass from the owners, the house wine cost 8.50 Euro per glass!! Very pricey for a simple restaurant. Got quite a shock when the bill arrived. Check the price before they pour would be recommended.

Très bon accueil, et très bien mangé, prix raisonnable comparé aux confrères de Lagos. Le patron est souriant et bienveillant. Je recommande sans problème.

Excellent! The best fish I have ever tasted. The fillet of sole is to die for and the recipe is sought after! The owner Dom personally looks after all guests! We felt especially lucky to visit in a slow period and had a chance to talk with him about his amazing life experiences in the restaurant business. Treated us like we were special. There was no problem with English. Highly recommended.

1st class restaurant managed to book a table for 14 people the night before.
Food service was excellent at reasonable prices. Thanks for making this a lovely evening. See you next year.

Todos los comensales estuvimos de acuerdo en que era la mejor cena de la zona de Lagos. Muchos de los platos se terminaban en una mesita que tenía el cocinero auxiliar al lado de la mesa. El bacalao, almejas a la marinera, pato cocinado con piña y unas gambas con arroz estaban exquisitas. Muy buena carta de vinos. Como postre te sugieren un crêpe que aunque puede resultar algo caro 18 € el camarero estuvo preparando casi durante 10 minutos con una reducción de naranja coñac azúcar y algún secreto de cocina.

1 hora i 20 minuts per portar-nos el menjar. Tot i anar-hi 4 adults amb 4 nens, als petits també els han fet esperar. Les explicacions de l'amo eren que el menjar es fa tot al moment i la seva elaboració requereix de temps. La qualitat del menjar és baixa. Un autèntic desastre.

Fantastic. Had a beer and the bananas with some brandy and sugar and was an absolutely delicious dessert. Also had a couple of beers and met a local man that had an extensive knowledge of local wines that gave us his good fortune of wine and can't wait to try some more Portugese wine.

Just popped in for a glass of wine, house wine was excellent and great selection of other wines. Will be back to sample the food another night.

Erstklassiges ehrliches Essen, Sterne-Qualität, keine hochgestochene Athmosphäre, sondern sehr gemütlich, aufmerksame freundliche Bedienung. Ich koche selbst. Ich merke, wenn ich verarscht werde. Hier gab es fantasievolle ehrliche Speisen und zwar richtig lecker!

Excellent restaurant. Staff were very friendly and funny at times. I ate there with my wife and baby. Not really a place for a buggy but they fitted us in comfortable a the same. My wife had the pork in which she very much enjoyed. I had the large portion Rack of Lamb (medium rare) I highly recommend this dish. Cooked to perfection. There sides were excellent which is hard to find in other restaurants. They have a large selection of wine and a few very rare bottles if you really want to push the boat out. Wine was excellent and desserts were tasty. Do drop in and eat, it is worth it.

Bon restaurant dans la petite ville de Lagos, mais longue attente avant d'être servi. Nous avons eu le temps de boire la bouteille de Mateus avant d'avoir eu notre plat commandé en direct.

Quality restaurant, excellent service, superb wines. We love the Happy Hour. Then you have possibility to taste more expensive wines (all wines) to half price. Happy hour is daily at 15:00 to 18:00.

Ottima cucina, eccezionale la zuppa di cipolle, appena discreta la sangria. Prezzi leggermente superiori rispetto la media del Portogallo.

The resturant is a vintage wine resturant but they have non of the bottles, got recomanded a 2015 white wine and when we looked at the bottle it was a 2018. I thing the resturant is overpriced and have a bit smal diches. The taste was good but not very exciting.

FATAL!!!!!!!!
Estábamos paseando y vimos el sitio a la que nos sentamos y pedimos "dos copas de vino verde porfavor" sin más especificar.
La sorpresa fué a la hora de pagar cuando el camarero nos pide 14€ por 2 copas de vino.
No dábamos crédito y nos dice el camarero "claro es que es el vino mas caro"
Yo contesto "yo solo he pedido 2copas de vino y no el más caro"
Aparece el dueño le comentanos que nos parece una barbaridad nos contesta que es el precio y nos trae la carta a lo que contesto "esto no me lo has traido antes" y el dueño contesta "tampoco me lo has pedido" le repito que me parece una tomadura de pelo a lo que me contesta que no tengo categoria y le digo que el que no tiene categoría es él que es un ladrón a lo que contesta dando golpes. Cuando amenazo con llamar a la policía baja la actitud y nos dice que vale vale 4 por copa total 8€.
Una decepción y otro que intenta aprovecharse de los turistas.

Nos tomamos una copa de vino paseando por allí. Le dijimos que nos pusieran dos copas de vino y nos sacó una botella directamente, sin carta. Nos la tomamos y cuando vamos a pagar tenemos la sorpresa de que nos cobra 14 euros, 7 euros por copa. Cuando preguntamos que hemos roto nos dice con muy poca educación que era el vino mas caro de la carta, que tenemos poca clase y que es lo que valía. La copa de vino era una ración escasa, nos puso el más caro sin preguntar y encima nos llevamos una discusión con el jefe del lugar. Directamente, decepcionante.

As lulas estavam deliciosas o atendimento do proprietário faz a diferença, vá sem pressa pois os pratos recompensam a espera. A carta de vinhos é ampla assim como o range de preços.

Très déçu de l'accueil. Le serveur ne comprenait ce qu'on lui demandait alors qu'on lui parlait en portugais. Nous avons attendu très longtemps une salade et une assiette burger ( nous étions seuls en terrasse) c'etait trop cher vu la qualité des produits. Je ne retournerai pas à cet endroit et je privilégie les restos qui n'ont pas pignon sur rues.

Estuvimos más de 1 hora esperando la comida. Comida cuyo precio en todos los platos estaba sobrevalorada. Para pagar el camarero nos ofreció pagar por separado en caja y el dueño al verlo nos protestó porque tenía al servicio parado... Mala noche y seguro nunca volveremos ni lo recomendaremos

The food was excellent! We were lucky enough to be sitting right next to the owner of the restaurant dining with his wife. He showed us an old photo album containing all his achievements as one of the best chefs in Portugal! Dom Vinho is a hidden treasure of Lagos which we recommend with excellence!

We shared a bottle of special vino- this is a wine bar and has a brilliant wine list if you are after something a bit more special! We got the feeling that the nice bottles of wine dont get drunk here very often, ours was definitely out of an old cellar, so highly recommend. We even got a free small plate of cheese to accompany our wine. A note though- if you are after a recommendation for a good bottle, ask for the boss, the waiters knowledge of good wines was poor.

Visited this restaurant for dinner with my wife and friends. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent menu and wine selection at reasonable prices. Food and wine chosen superb. Service excellent. Shrimp cocktail and rack of lamb excellent. Overall a wonderful night spent in a great restaurant. Recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lagos

Muy amables. Tiene la opción de elegir el tamaño de las raciones. A mí me ha gustado mucho porque puedes probar más platos. Apto para ir con niños. Acogedor. Buena relación calidad precio.

Having been annoyed by the staff at a restaurant arround the corner, I tried this place. Very glad I did, excellent staff and very good meal. The house wine was great, and included with a meal from the main menue. I had the grouper, it was very tasty with a superb sauce. Highly recommended.

For 17€ you only get 11 Clam. Way over price for what you get.
The star goes to the waiter who was adorable but other wise you don't get much for you're money. Save yourself a trip and eat somewhere else it's a tourist trap.

Très bonne cuisine portuguaise le restaurant nous avait été conseillé par notre hôtelier nous n'avons pas été déçus. Nous y sommes retournés dès le lendemain. Service très sympathique. Les plats sont plutôt longs à arriver mais l'attente vaut le coup !

Mein Sohn liebt Schnitzel mit Pommes. Leider gibt es in Portugal nicht wirklich Schnitzel, außer halt hier. Aber leider gibt es hier keine Pommes sondern nur sehr leckere Bratkartoffeln. Weil mein Sohn so traurig war, hat man ihm dann Pommes aus frischen Kartoffeln gemacht (ohne Aufpreis und ohne fragen von uns). Sie haben es von sich aus angeboten, weil nicht so viel los war.
Das Schnitzel und die Pommes waren super und unser Essen war auch sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

I was really disappointed, there is a trip adviser sign saying it won as best restaurant 2015, Honestly, I wonder how, the food was poor, I got shrimps and rice. It wasn't seasoned at all and there was 12 tiny shrimps around a big hill of rice. Also, my partner got a plate of greasy chicken with some vegetables, the vegetables were good though. Avoid this place!

Friendly reception, busy evening and the owner explained service would be slow.
Pay special attention to the menu charges!
One piece of white fish (Grouper) as a main = 32 Euros and that is without side orders.
Had been in Portugal for a week prior to this meal and this was by far the most expensive for what was served.
