I have been coming to Burgau for some years and have eaten at most restaurants there. Some of them are really excellent but others are mediocre but this was truly awful. First confused order for swordfish was mistakenly given sole. This was replaced but swimming in oil my vegetables were luke warm and my wife 's meal tasteless. My table was dirty with my shirt sticking to the edge. This might be a one off but I will not be going back to find out if so

Eine tatsächlich excellente Auszeichnung. Die geordert en Vorspeisen, selbst verständlich frisch und rein. Der Fischsuppe sah man bereits an:"Am selben Tag frisch zubereitet! " Die frischen und bereits filetieren Fische wurden uns vorgelegt und von uns ausgewählt. Sowohl die Seezunge als auch der Thunfisch waren optimal gegart. Alles war bereits köstlich gewürzt und mit frischen Gemüsebeilagen garniert. Das Essen war bereits ein Foto wert.....und dann kam voller Gaumengenuss !! Man kann in die saubere, bestens sortierte Küche sehen. Einwandfrei perfekt ! Beide Kellner waren sehr umsichtig und taten ihr Bestes (echte ausgebildete Fachkräfte!). Nicht nur die Speisekarte ist in 3 Sprachen (incl. english und deutsch), auch die Kellner verstehen und sprechen es. Mann kann nicht das Meer sehen, doch das ist hier völlig egal ! Wir haben uns persönlich bei Koch & Köchin bedankt.

Food was fresh and simple. For dinner we went with chefs recommendation of the day: grilled chicken kebab, grilled squid, shrimp and fish; everything served with steamed vegetables and a side of salad and fries/potatoes. There is however a disconnect between the very simple dishes and the posh, but outdated way the restaurant is presented. The food was more fitting a BBQ/lunch place.

Absolutely delicious fish perfectly cooked with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I recommend the delicious sardine with spinach.
2nd visit: So sad to say I waited on the street and asked for a table for one. Happy to sit outside was offered a table and half an hour later the waiter said he would soon bring a menu. After another 15 minutes I was told to go as the table was booked!
Very embarrassing and was then too late to eat.
Not nice for a 51 year old woman dining alone!

We had grilled tuna and a tomato salad. Both were good.
We sat on the terrace, directly over the street.
There wasn't very much traffic, so it was very nice.
A neighborhood dog stopped in and some local feral cats were hanging nearby, completing a nice meal out.

Nice staff, the food was quite average.. no homemade food. Only 2 waiters available for so many tables. Unfortunately you wait too long for your meal, so the charm ends here because you need to wait so long. And it was Monday. I'd like to see how they serve on the weekend..

Recomendo vivamente o Filet Mignon rare. Estava divinal, um dos melhores q já comi. A sopa de peixe estava deliciosa com uma frescura surpreendente. É para repetir!

Plats bons , cependant la carte des boissons est très restreinte. On nous a servit le seul vin blanc qu'il y avait en verre, et il n'etait pas très bon.
Le cadre est sympa et +1 pour le personnel très accueillant.

Most definitely worth a visit. Remember to reserve a table as it gets booked up quickly. Have cataplana...lovely! The kids loved the prawns!

Comida explendida, recomiendo la cataplana de Estoril con marisco. Buena relación calidad-precio, pero armaros d paciencia xq tardan en serviros, eso sí, son gente muy simpática. Lo recomiendo.

Excellent food and wine, although the food was a little salty this time. Strongly recommend the cataplana! Be aware that when ordering meaty fish steaks (tuna, swordfish) it will be well done - this is the Portuguese way!

Delicious dishes, we had a perfect evening, great atmosphere and stuff but the food was the BEST. You could taste how carefully was everything cooked, very nice. Strongly recommend you to try the Cataplana fish dish!!

Unfriendly staff, my "medium" steak was extremly overcooked.
Even though, they said salad included, there was no SINGLE piece of green on plate. It was a quite small portion but still we paid a lot...
Would not recommend!

One of my fav meals so far in Portugal. I had the chicken and prawns Algarve style. Absolutely delicious. They do bring out a starter for you but we said we didn't want it and they took it away. Reasonably priced food and cheap drinks. €2 for a large glass of house red

Good food at reasonable prices. Cover charge includes bread (2 types) olives, tuna & tomatoes and local sausage for 2.80 per person. Mains from around 10 to 15 euros.

A sopa veio ao mesmo tempo k o prato principal. Menu vegetariano mt bom. Filet de linguado bem confeccionado e fresco. O brigadeiro seco a tarde de limão demasiada doce. Serviço simpatico e atencioso com um miminho final.

Four of us visited this very local welcoming restaurant- staff were very friendly and attentive. All our food was excellent starter, main and dessert. We look forward to returning very soon

Had to wait an hour on our starters and they weren't great when they arrived. Main course wasn't much better either.
Would definitely give this place a miss.

I always look for a local places to eat. I would say I did find one! It’s an amazing experience. Service, food and atmosphere is 5 starts without any doubt. Fish was fresh and well cooked! Thank you!

Over priced food, incredibly slow service, (our waiter) without reason, Mcdonald dishes, "McCafe", on our table, I swear,... food coming out to our table at different times, half cold/half hot, would have preferred, any other restaurant or even McDonald's. Better options about town. However, food was tasty, portions were on the smallish size. Enjoy

Fantastisch gegessen.....wie waren 2x dort und jedes Mal mehr
als zufrieden...die Bedienungen sehr nett....das Essen perfekt. Best Cataplana ever.....und erst das gratinierte Krabbenpfännle....eine Wucht und bezahlbar. Tischreservierung sehr zu empfehlen.

Es hat zwar ein wenig gedauert, aber das Essen war großartig, alles frisch und wirklich super lecker. Das Personal war super und kannte sich auch gut mit den Weinen etc. aus.

Der Fisch war sehr gut, frisch und sehr schmackhaft zubereitet! Zum Fisch gab es Gemüse und Kartoffeln, aber leider keinerlei Sauce (auch nicht zerlassene Butter oder ähnliches); das hätte das ganze noch abgerundet.
Wir waren an diesem Tag die ersten Gäste. Der Kellner hatte Zeit und hat uns sehr gut beraten. Wir mussten nicht lange warten. Das Restaurant füllte sich dann aber zunehmend und man merkte, dass besser noch ein zweiter Kellner hätte da sein sollen. Aber der Fisch ist es wirklich wert etwas zu warten. Wenn man später kommt, einfach etwas Zeit mitbringen und den Wein genießen.

Excellent food and a welcome environment! I'd personally recommend the "Sapateira Gratinada" followed by "Cataplana" a tradicional Portuguese dish excellently cooked!

Jantar muito agradável. O peixe é fresco e muito bem cozinhado, as saladas são bem servidas e os pratos para crianças também. As crianças adoraram e nós também!

Comida excelente!! Nada caro para a qualidade da comida, os pratos são confeccionados na hora por isso esperamos um pouco, mas valeu a pena! As cataplanas são ótimas e o bife pimenta é o melhor que já comi! Não têm multibanco por isso temos que ir prevenidos. Recomendo vivamente

Eten was lekker, echter is de prijs relatief; je betaalt de helft en krijgt dan ook maar de helft van een vis. Pas Op! Ze zetten zonder te vragen een startgerecht op tafel! En de tafels/glazen zouden best wat schoner kunnen.

Totalna porażka. Jedyne, co dobre to wino. Kucharz używa okropne ilości soli do każdej potrawy. Zamówiliśmy tuńczyka z grila i zupę rybna. Czuliśmy jedynie sól. Mam nadzieję, że ta sól nie służyła zamaskowany braku świeżółci ryby. Zmarnowany wieczór i pieniądze
