What a fantastic curry - i was dubious about a curry in Portugal but it was one of the best I have ever had. Will be back next time we are in the area!

Super freundlicher und nicht aufdringlicher Service! Unser Essen war richtig lecker und im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants, die wir in unserem Urlaub besucht haben preiswert. Es ist für Vegetarier geeignet und einige Speisen sind in einer extra Rubrik aufgelistet, sodass man ohne langes Suchen in der Karte die Speisen findet. Man kann verschiedene Gewürzstärken auswählen nach denen man bei der Bestellung gefragt wird. Wir hatten uns während dem Essen noch eine zweite Portion Reis bestellt, die super schnell an unseren Tisch gebracht wurde. Unsere Speisen wurden in Stövchen serviert damit sie warm bleiben - richtig gut! Ich kann dieses Restaurant weiterempfehlen. Grade Vegetarier werden hier fündig und haben eine kleine Auswahl (nicht nur ein Gericht), was entlang der Küste nicht immer so einfach ist.

Wir sind aufgrund der guten Bewertungen zum ersten Mal vor 5 Jahren ins Spice Cottage gekommen. Seit dem regelmäßig jedes Jahr. Der beste Inder, den ich je versucht habe! Hervorragende Küche zu akzeptablen Preisen. Ein kulinarisches Highlight!

Sûrement l'un des meilleurs restaurants indiens que nous avions pu tester. Vous avez le choix entre 4 niveaux d'épices : Doux, moyen, piquant et "vindaloo" (très piquant ) . Le quatrième niveau tient ses promesses.

No geral a refeição foi boa mas as chamuças não foram as melhores que já comi e os empregados falam quase 100% inglês.

Von außen wirkt das Restaurant eher unscheinbar. Hätten wir die positiven Bewertungen nicht gesehen und wären dort gezielt hingefahren, wären wir wahrscheinlich daran vorbei gefahren.. Zum Glück waren wir dort!!! Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Nachspeisen waren richtig lecker! Wir waren so begeistert, dass wir innerhalb einer Woche gleich zwei Mal dort waren. Alles wurde mit frischen Zutaten zubereitetet und toll gewürzt. Man kann bei jedem Hauptgericht den Schärfegrad selbst bestimmen. Die Bedienung ist zurückhaltend aufmerksam und freundlich. Ich würde meinen Vorrednern zustimmen und sagen, dass ich in Deutschland noch nicht so gut indisch gegessen habe.. Nicht überlegen, einfach ausprobieren. Gegrillten Fisch gibt es überall in Portugal, aber so gutes indisches Essen nicht! ;-)

Lovely staff. Location is up in the hills outside village but not a trek travelling by car. Food piping hot, my only complaint is the aubergine side dish and sag with king prawns was mashed up with no texture, resembled spicy baby food even though appearance lacking, taste was not. I also felt a little expensive, 2 mains shared rice, naan and side, 1 small beer and 2 fanta soft drinks, nearly €50. These are just little gripes, would NOT stop me returning.

BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT in the area. Top quality food, very well cooked, highly delicious. Service is good and professional, the location is not the best (there is not an Indian atmosphere) but it's clean and tidy.

We've driven past this restaurant many times over the past few years but never stopped to try it out until now. Restaurant is between Salema and Burgau. Food was surprisingly good but service is a little slow. Definitely the best Indian restaurant in the area. Will definitely eat here again.

Always freshly prepared, bursting with delicious Indian spices and flavors that warm you up from the inside out, Spice Cottage is a must if you are in the area. Seriously, skip all the bland Portuguese food and come here to experience real hospitality, soul food, and warm atmosphere that would leave you feeling alive. After our first visit several weeks ago based on the recommendation of a local, we've been coming to this excellent Indian restaurant at least twice a week. We are always greeted by such a warm, hospitable lady, who, I think, is the owner of the place. She does such an excellent job of keeping the quality of everything so high: ingredients, service, recipes, and interior. Our experience in Portugal when it comes to food has been very different. After staying in Lisbon for several months and now in the South, I have to declare the best food in this country is NOT Portuguese. Spice Cottage is a wonderful example of how ethnic cuisine thrives here and delivers mouthwatering Chicken Afghani, Chana Masala, Paneer and Saag dishes, and crispy, freshly prepared naans.

Great restaurant. Staff are really friendly and the food is amazing. It is well worth the drive out of town to get there. Also ignore google, they are open on a Monday they are only closed Monday for lunch time!

We have been 3 times this week as the food and services is the best we have experienced in any India restaurant anywhere. And we frequent a lot of restaurants around the world inluding india a few months ago. Very clean and well run with lovely happy staff. Highly recommended.

One of the best Indian restaurants I visited. Very good quality, the place is in a beautiful valley, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The Staff is very nice!

Visited with my wife and child. We decided to use their take away service and were amazed with the quality of the food. The service was fantastic and we shall defiantly visit next year.
